Ch 42: A golden Showcase
It was late at night in the desert and the group was making their way up a large hill.
"Alright day 4 is almost done. We have to be close now." Serena said feeling very tired.
As they reached the top of the hill, Pikachu noticed something on the other side.
"Pika." He said as he saw a large number of lights coming from an area ahead of them.
"Chu." Pikachu said pointing to the lights.
"Lights, that must be it." Ash said.
The group moved closer to the lights until they saw a massive city filled with so many bright and colored lights it was almost difficult to see.
"Here we are, Neon city." Lucy said.
"Finally." Serena said.
The streets were filled with many people and pokemon moving around trying to get to different buildings.
The lights in the night made the city look amazing, Serena saw now just buildings lit up, but massive displays, like artificial lakes with massive water displays, towers, pyramids, and wheels,
"This city looks amazing." Serena said.
"Just be careful. Not everyone here is as friendly as most places." Lucy said.
Moments later a large woman bumped into Serena , nearly knocking her off her feet. The woman turned to Serena and she saw the woman was massive. Almost 2 feet taller than her and very overweight.
"Watch where you're going little girl." She said sounding very angry.
"I'm sorry I just." Serena started.
"You have some nerve just bumping into me like that, didn't your mother teach you any manners. I may have to teach you some myself" She said as her face turned red and she stepped closer to Serena.
Serena was now scared. As grabbed her by the arm and came in front of her.
"Look she apologized, besides it was you who bumped into her." Ash said.
"Pika!" Pikachu shouted.
"The nerve, you vile little." The woman started as she raised an arm, before the group heard a police siren.
The group turned as they saw an officer Jenny riding over on a motorcycle towards them.
She stopped right beside the group and turned to the large woman.
"Is this woman bothering you?" She asked as she gave the large woman a stern look.
"She threatened Serena after she bumped into Serena." Ash said.
"Then she threatened Ash." Lucy said.
"Ms. Donai this is the 5th complaint I've gotten about you this week alone. One more time and I'm taking you to jail." Jenny said.
The woman gave a disrespectful look before turning and walking away.
Officer Jenny sighed.
"I'm sorry about that, Neon city isn't an easy city to police. So many tired and angry people, tired because they're up all night at the casinos, angry because they they loose so much money at the casinos. Then there's the hoodlums and criminals." Jenny said.
"I'm sorry to hear that." Brock said.
"It's not your fault, it's just this city." Jenny asked.
"Officer Jenny, we're actually here for the Neon city showcase. Would you happen to know where that is being held?" Serena asked.
"Ah yes the showcase, I was going to see it on my day off tomorrow. It's happening at the Pirate island hotel." Jenny said.
Brock took out a map of the city he collected.
"Here we are, Pirate island hotel. " Brock said.
"Thank you officer Jenny." Serena said.
They continued down the street towards the hotel when they were spotted by a pair of eyes.
"Well look who's here." One said.
Moments later Pikachu heard the voice and turned in the direction.
"Pika!" Pikachu shouted sounding excited.
"What is it?" Ash asked as he turned to see none other than his mother and Alexa.
"Mom?" Ash said.
"Ash" Delia said sounding excited as she and Alexa made their way over.
"Mom what are you doing here in Neon city, and why are you here Alexa?" Ash asked.
"We're here for work, the Kalos press wants us covering the showcase here because someone pretty important from Kalos is competing in it and they want us covering it." Alexa said.
Delia had a pretty excited look on her face as she stepped closer and hugged Ash and Serena.
"I still can't believe one of my sons is getting married already. I can't wait for the wedding, plus I'll finally have a daughter." Delia said.
"Yeah, congratulations you two." Alexa said.
"Ash, this is your mother?" Brock asked.
"Oh right, you've never met them. Mom, this is Brock and Lucy our new friends and traveling companions." Ash said.
"Pleasure to meet you Mrs. Ketchum." Brock said.
"Glad I could finally meet you." Lucy said.
"Brock is the son of the Pewter city gym leader and Lucy is a frontier Brain. She's also , like dad, red, and me." Ash said.
"Oh, I see. Nice to meet the both of you." Delia said.
"So where's dad?" Ash asked.
"Red and Korrina begged him to go on some guardian mission with them, I told him I needed to come here and he went with them." Delia said.
"So you're here to compete in the showcase as well Serena?" Alexa asked.
"Yes I am." Serena said.
"Well we were on our way to the Pirate Island Hotel. Care to Join us." Delia asked.
"Yes." Ash said.
Unknown to them, a figure watched them. Delia in particular.
The figure wore a black trench coat with shades and a hat near an ally. Underneath the blue hat was long blue hair.
"I see the target, she's with the twerps. Coming your way" He said into a communicator.
As he turned he was bumped by a tall man with thick black hair and a sleeveless black vest with nothing but his chest underneath and black pants.
"Hey watch where you're going!" The man shouted angrily with his first raised.
The man under the trench coat raised an eyebrow.
"Get out of my way." He said.
"No apology, alright then." The man in black said as he jumped onto the man in the trench coat's shoulders and tried to bash his head.
Just before he could, the man in the trench coat grabbed the mans's arm as he came down and threw him off his back onto the ground in front of him. The man in the trench coat then locked the other man in an arm bar as he hurled him into the side of a building.
As the man fell down the man in the trench coat slammed his foot into his mouth, knocking out several of his teeth.
"Didn't your mother teach you, always be polite to strangers." The man said before he walked off.
Several minutes later they reached a large Hotel that was in a V shape and had the words Pirate Island in lights on the top of the building. In front of it were several planted palm trees and what looked like a beach and a lagoon.
"Here we are." Delia said.
"It's amazing." Serena said.
"Looks like the entrance is this way." Brock said. They walked across a large wooden bridge like walkway across the water. In the water they could see a few Squirtle, Goldeen, and other water pokemon swimming around.
Eventually they got onto an old 18th century pirate ship with several other guests. In the center of the ship's deck were several rows of seats.
"Alright my harties,take yer seats and we'll get underway to pirate island. The finest resort in Neon city." One of the crew members dressed as a pirate said. The group sat down as the hidden motor on the back of the ship started and drove it through the water to the beach at the end of the Lagoon.
Once they reached it the dock on the other side they left the ship and entered the hotel itself.
The interior of the hotel seemed very expensive, but also had a clear pirate theme. There were several pirate flags, skeleton statues hanging on the walls. Plus a pile of pirate gold with a shipwreck on it with pirate and Blastoise skeletons on it.
"They certainly got the theme down." Serena said.
They noticed that there were many other trainers there with their pokemon.
"Sure are a lot of trainers here." Lucy said.
"Performers, more than usual too. But the rumor is , this is a big one. I found out that I only just have enough points to enter this one at all." Serena said.
"The check in desk is over here." Brock said.
The group walked over to see the hotel employees like the ones on the ship were wearing pirate attire.
"Welcome to Pirate Island." One of them said.
"Hello, I'm Serena Achille, I'm here to enter the showcase tomorrow." Serena said.
"May we see your ribbons." The other clerk said.
Serena took out her ribbon band and showed them.
"Excellent, if you're competing your room and the connecting room are complimentary." The clerk said.
"Awesome." Ash said.
"Brock, you and Lucy can take the complimentary room. Alexa and I's room is already paid for by the Kalos press." Delia said.
"It's getting pretty late, but now that we're finally together Serena, I was hoping we could discuss some of the wedding plans." Delia said.
Serena face turned red.
"I'd love that." Serena said.
Ash and Pikachu gave nervous looks and sweat dropped.
"You know as one of Ash's groomsmen, I would like to talk to him some about it." Brock said.
"Alright that sounds like a good idea." Serena said.
"Let's head up to the rooms then." Alexa said.
As they went up to their rooms, they didn't notice a woman in a brown trench coat, shades, and hat looking at them.
"Target in the Pirate Island hotel alright. I'll keep a close watch." She said.
Several minutes later Ash and Brock were in Brock's room with some of their pokemon out.
"Thanks for saving me back there Brock." Ash said.
"No problem, but I really think we should talk a bit about your wedding. I mean I want to be a good groomsmen." Brock said.
"I suppose, I guess I just always cared more about being married to Serena than getting married." Ash said.
"Still you must be at least a little excited." Brock said.
"I am, it's just." Ash started.
"Ash I think I see what needs to happen here. You just let me worry about the groom stuff, no offense but that area doesn't seem to be your forte." Brock said.
"We all have our strengths and weaknesses." Ash said.
The next morning Serena was up with her pokemon down by the lagoon.
"Alright Misdreavus now use Shadow ball." Serena said as Misdreavus raised her head and unleashed a ball of ghostly energy right into the air above her.
"Now use Psybeam!".
"Mis!" Misdreavus shouted as she unleashed a beam of psychic energy into the shadow ball, causing the two entries to mix and form a blue color energy that came down around her.
"That was great Misdreavus." Despite hearing that, Misdreavus still gave a nervous expression.
Serena had noticed Misdreavus was still nervous about her abilities since what happened in Lavender town.
"Vap." Vaporeon said as he looked at Serena.
"Yes. Misdreavus." Serena said as she came over to her.
"I know you're still feeling a bit nervous after what happened in Lavender town. But that was a long time ago. We've both grown since then, you don't have to be worried. You're going to do great."
Misdreavus felt a little better after hearing Serena, but she was still quite nervous.
"Alright, we better get some breakfast. I don't want you guys hungry for the showcase."
"Vap!"
"Mis!".
Several minutes later Serena was with the rest of the group in the breakfast buffet area. They had gotten a pair of tables beside each other with their pokemon eating beside the tables.
"So do you have your performances planned out?" Lucy asked.
"Yes, I finished practicing with them this morning. But I noticed Misdreavus is still feeling a bit nervous after Lavender town."
"Well if she isn't confident in her abilities then she won't be able to perform as well as she could." Brock said.
Serena sighed.
"I know, I tried to cheer her up, but it only helped a little."
"Well here's what I would do. Pokemon tend to take a lot of personality from their trainers. If you show Misdreavus you're confident in your abilities as a trainer and she'll be more confident herself." Ash said.
"Huh, that's a really good idea."
"He's right, you should have Vaporeon go first and have Misdreavus out watching the performance. If she see's the two of you full of confidence it will help her." Lucy said.
"Alright then that's what I'll do." Serena said sounding confident.
"So Alexa, Delia, who is this big person from Kalos that you're here reporting on?" Brock asked.
"Her name is Miette. Apparently she's about you kid's age, but has made quite a reputation as a performer in Kalos." Alexa said.
"So the Kalos press is interested in her coming here?" Brock asked.
"Well, we think she's getting all this publicity because of her family." Alexa said.
"Her family?" Brock asked.
"Well her father's brother owns the Kalos press, and apparently her father is quite wealthy." Delia said.
Ash and the others sweat dropped.
"She was actually suppose to meet us here so we could interview her." Alexa said.
Moments later Serena saw a young woman with short blue hair and brown eyes coming towards Delia and Alexa.
She wore a dark blue shirt with white sleeves and a brown tie like scarf.
"Bonjour, vous êtes les journalistes pour la presse Kalos ?" The girl said in a very thick Kalos accent asking if Delia and Alexa were reporters.
"Oui, nous sommes les journalistes. Parlez-vous Kanto?" Alexa said.
"I can speak Kanto. I am Miette, the star of Kalos." The girl said.
"Star of Kalos?" Serena thought sweat dropping with Ash.
"I'm here for my interview."
"Very well, I'm Delia and this is Alexa. My son Ash and his friends are here as well. Serena is also competing in the showcase and she's from Kalos as well." Delia said.
Miette turned and saw the group, Ash in particular.
Miette came over to Ash and gave a very interested look.
"Enchanté de vous rencontrer." She said before she came in and kissed the sides of both his cheeks.
Upon seeing this, Serena felt a great amount of anger towards this girl and Ash gave a nervous expression and Pikachu sweat dropped.
Serena knew that such a greeting was still done in Kalos sometimes, but not usually to someone you just met. Serena might just just been a little jealous, but she knew this girl wanted Ash, her fiancé and true love.
"Uh, tellement agréable de vice rencontrer pour." Ash said nervously, saying it was nice to meet her too.
"Je suis Serena, sa fiancée!" Serena almost shouted as she got up.
"Oh this should be interesting." Lucy whispered to Brock.
"Oh my, I hope this doesn't turn out like with that Sara girl." Delia said.
"Maybe if this girl had been introduced earlier there never would have been Sara." Alexa said.
Delia gave a confused look.
"What?".
Miette gave a someone frustrated look at Serena.
"So, you're from Kalos as well." Miette said.
"I am, and I'm also a performer. I did many performances there. I'm now doing showcases."
"Well if you made it into this showcase you must have some skill. But do you have enough skill to win the Master's Key?" Miette asked.
"Master's key?" Serena asked.
"Quoi? You mean you don't know. Fuel genre d' amateur êtes-vous? The Master's key is given to someone who can win a showcase at this level. It grants you entrance to the Master Class tournament." Miette said.
"What?" Serena said. If she won this showcase then she would get into the Master tournament.
She knew this showcase was big, but that big. That changed a lot, or did it. No, she had to stay confident for her pokemon, especially Misdreavus. Plus it might have just been her jealousy, but she wanted to teach this Miette girl a lesson.
"Well I suppose I should get to my interview. I'm sure the people of Kalos are dying to know how I'm doing. Plus I'll get to spend some more time with Ash" Miette said turning her eyes back to him.
Serena's face turned red again.
"You know what, I'm done eating. Ash, we should head back to the room. Your mom and I talked a bit about our wedding details and I want your opinion on them." Serena said almost trying to force the point that she was with Ash.
Ash could feel from his connection to Serena, she was pretty angry. He was pretty sure he knew why to. He thought it best not to get her more angry.
"Alright let's go." Ash said as he took Serena by her shoulders and moved her away from the table.
Miette and Serena exchanged some more unfriendly looks with each other as Serena walked off with Ash and Brock with Lucy close behind.
"Uh Miette, your interview?" Alexa asked.
"Right." Miette said.
Ash and Serena walked into their room and shut the door behind them.
"So uh, what about the wedding did we need to talk about?" Ash asked nervously.
Serena sighed.
"Just some things, like the music we'll be having. Seating, the food." Serena said.
Ash noticed Serena wasn't quite as excited as she normally was about the wedding planning.
The two kept going over the wedding plans for an hour or so.
"Well , I better get into my performance dress. The showcase will be starting soon." Serena said still sounding unenthusiastic.
She took off her shirt and skirt before opening the closet where her dress was having.
"Serena, is everything alright?" Ash asked.
Serena sighed.
"I guess I'm just a little worried."
"About what, loosing?"
"Not exactly. It's this girl Miette, you know she was coming onto you right?" Serena asked.
"Yeah, I mean it was clear what she was doing. How could I have missed such an obvious attraction."
"It just reminds me of Sara, back in Kalos. I guess this girl isn't quite as bad as her, but you know how I could get around her. I'm just afraid that I'll get distracted out there and mess up, if I do that then I could destroy Misdreavus's confidence completely."
"I see, well what bothers you most about her. That she thinks you're an amateur next to her?"
"That always got on my nerves with Sara."
"Well you proved you were better than Sara, and you've proven you're a great performer."
"That's true."
"What else bothers you about her?".
Serena gave him a rather obvious look and Ash sweat dropped.
"Right."
"It just irritated me so much with Sara, and now." Serena started before Ash came over and put his arm around her back and brought her back a little and kissed her. Serena's face turned red even after he pulled back.
He then pointed to his engagement ring.
"Serena, do you really think there is any chance she'll steal me from you."
Serena realized that letting herself get jealous over some girl hitting on Ash was a little immature. After all they had been through, and the fact that they were getting married.
Serena laughed a little.
"I guess you're right. I shouldn't let this girl get under my skin. I need to stay confident for myself and for Misdreavus. I'm going to get out there and win it!" Serena shouted before she went to the door.
"Serena!" Ash shouted.
"What?" Serena asked before she realized she hadn't put her dress on yet and was just in her black bra and panties.
"Oh, Merci." She said blushing.
Serena changed into her dress and made her way down to one of the lobbies where the other performers were waiting.
Among the performers was Miette wearing a white and blue dress with several jewels embedded into it.
"So he's your fiancé? How did that happen?" Miette said clearly trying to get under Serena's skin.
Serena remembered what Ash said and what she said to herself.
Serena just closed her eyes and smiled.
"We're in love, that's how it happened. Childhood friends who met years later in Kalos." Serena said in a calm happy manner.
Miette noticed Serena wasn't bothered by what she said.
"So he clearly has a thing for Kalos girls. Maybe if he met a better one." Miette said.
Serena just kept smiling.
"Who knows, his brother is in love with a girl from Kalos. Besides, my mother always told me that Kalos girls are more irresistible than any other girls in the world. That we're more romantic and more beautiful." Serena said.
Miette was now somewhat impressed with Serena. She even gave a smile.
"You're good, you're not even getting slightly upset with me."
"I have no reason to be up upset, I'm in love and I'm close to the Master tournament. Je ne vis pas perdre ce parce que je sis jaloux" Serena said saying she wasn't going to lose out of jealous rage.
Miette gave another impressed smile.
"If you can handle me that well you can't be half bad. Plus if you can land a guy like that then you must be a real Kalos girl. You could make a real challenge after all." Miette said.
"Merci." Serena said.
Moments later The master of ceremonies stepped out wearing a pirate captain costume.
"Welcome performers. For this showcase you will be performing in the show lagoon inside the hotel. There will be two stages, the pirate ship and the treasure island. The ship will be for round one and the island for round two."
"Wait the stage is on a ship, well I suppose Vaporeon could go in the water, it could actually work to my advantage." Serena thought to herself.
"So we'll be starting soon, so make sure you and your pokemon are ready."
Ash and the others made their way to the beach lagoon stage area. The seats were set up on the beach by a prop pirate town. The seats were facing the lagoon with a large prop pirate ship in the center.
Unknown to the group, a small creature was buried under the sand watching them. The creature looked closely at Delia. Serena left Misdreavus with Ash so see could see the match.
"I guess they're going all out on the pirate theme." Brock said.
"I guess for a showcase this big, they have to do something different." Lucy said.
"Looks like it's starting." Ash said as lights lit up the lagoon.
Moments later the master of ceremonies appeared on the center of the pirate ship in his pirate captain costume.
In one hand he had a microphone and the other, his normal metal cane was replaced by a pirate cutlass.
"Welcome, one and all to the Neon city Pokemon Showcase. Tonight's showcase is very special as the winner will receive this." The master of ceremonies said as he took out a small treasure chest and opened it, revealing a solid gold key with a blue gemstone embedded at the top.
"The Master's key is the ticket to the Master's showcase. However, it won't be easy, we have many fine contenders tonight. The finest in Kanto, and other regions. Now for our first performer, the lovely Serena Achille." The master of ceremonies said as the lights shined on Serena who stood on the edge of the deck of the ship with Vaporeon beside her.
"Alright go Serena!" Ash shouted.
"Pika!".
"Alright let's perform! Vaporeon use Quick attack across the water." Vaporeon leapt off the deck of the ship and sprinted across the water. Lucy noticed that unlike when she saw them practice, Vaporeon wasn't making a circle, but a star shape, it must have been difficult for Vaporeon, but he was in good practice.
"Great now use water gun!" .
"Vapor!" Vaporeon shouted as he unleashed the water up in a star design making a star shaped series of rainbows and fountains in the water.
"Wow , that's amazing." Delia said.
"Serena's doing great." Ash said.
"Mis." Misdreavus said as she was also amazed at what Vaporeon was doing.
"Now go to the center and use Water pulse with Aurora beam." Serena said full of confidence.
Vaporeon quickly went to the center of the fountain and unleashed several large pulses of water up and through the rainbows before unleashing an aurora beam through them.
"Simply astounding. " One of the judges said.
"Indeed." Another said.
Misdreavus could see how confident Vaporeon and Serena were.
"Now come to me." Serena said. Vaporeon sprinted across the water, carrying a trail of rainbow colored water behind him across the water, then across the fake cannons sticking out of the side of the ship.
Eventually Vaporeon leapt up and into Serena's arms as she spun herself around , bringing some of the rainbow water around her.
The crowd began applauding heavily as Serena and Vaporeon bowed.
Elsewhere, Miette was watching Serena.
"H'm, she's not half bad."
Several minutes later Serena met up with he group int he crowd.
"Serena, you and Vaporeon did awesome out there." Ash said.
"It was a truly impressive performance." Alexa said.
"Thanks guys." Serena said.
Misdreavus floated over to Serena with an excited expression.
"Mis!" Misdreavus said, sounding excited.
Serena was glad Misdreavus wasn't nervous anymore, Ash's plan had worked.
"Hey look it's Miette." Brock said as they saw Miette standing on the deck of the ship with a Meowstic.
"Meowstic, let us begin." Miette said.
Her Meowstic's eyes glowed blue as he used confusion to lift 4 columns of water from he lagoon up and formed 4 rotating curved jets of water floating around him.
"Meow stic!" Meowstic shouted as he unleashed 3 Psybeams through the air and into the floating water. When they did the water burst around Meowstic, before being caught again by confusion.
Meowstic then swirled the water around himself and Miette , lifting them and there water up himself and Miette.
Once they were high enough up the water slowly began to move out from under them making another display behind them, also slowly lowering them to the ground.
Once they reached it, the display was complete and the two bowed.
"Stupendous." The third judge said.
"Wow, she is really good." Serena said.
"I can see why so many people back home like her." Alexa said.
After the last of the performers completed their routines, the master of ceremonies stood on the deck of the ship.
"Well round one is over and we've seen many magnificent performances, however, only three performers will be allowed to move on." The master of ceremonies said.
"The first moving on will be Michel Wilkerson." The Master of ceremonies said as the spotlight shined on Michel.
"Huh, he's been in a few showcases." Lucy said.
"Our next finalist is Miette of Kalos."
Miette stepped forward and bowed.
"Alright this is it." Brock said.
"She did great, she'll make it to round 2." Ash said.
"And finally, Serena Achille."
The spotlight shined on Serena as she stepped forward.
"Pika!".
"She did it." Ash said.
"Which means she's that much closer to the key." Brock said.
Serena and Misdreavus waited for their turn as Miette and Michel did their performances on the new stage. Like the master of ceremonies had told them, the second stage was a small sandy island in the middle of the lagoon.
The island had a few patches of tall grass, 3 palm trees, and a large pirate shipwreck on the beach with pirate gold and silver scattered around the beach and the water.
Michel was finishing up his routine with his Blastoise.
"Now use Aqua Jet."
Michel's Blastoise shot him self up into the air from the water. Once he reached the peak he went back into his shell and unleashed a jet of water out of each hole as he spun and fell down.
He then slammed into the water before coming out and standing on top of the pile of gold.
The crowd applauded as Michel and his Blastoise bowed.
"Alright we're up. Remember Misdreavus be confident." Serena said.
"Mis!"
The two stepped off the boat and onto the island and to the front beach where the shipwreck was.
Misdreavus looked out at the crowd in front of her and remembered the crowd at Lavender town. How she messed up in the first round and cost them the showcase.
But she also remembered what had just happened, Vaporeon and Serena's confidence. If they could be that confident, so could she.
"Misdreavus use shadow ball."
Misdreavus raised her head and unleashed a shadow ball above her.
"Psybeam." Misdreavus unleashed a beam of Psychic energy up and into the shadow ball, causing the two energies to mix and form a blue color energy that came down around her.
"Psywave."
"Mis." Misdreavus said as she used psychic energy to lift up hundreds of the gold doubloons around her and moved them around.
"Psybeam." Misdreavus blasted the gold with the Psybeam, causing the light to reflect off each gold piece and make another display of lights around her.
"Great, now use Hex." Misdreavus blasted the ground with ghost energy, causing gold and silver to fly up and then fall down around her with light shining around them and making a sparking display of treasure around Misdreavus.
"Using the stage to her advantage, very impressive." The first judge said.
Serena and Misdreavus bowed as the crowd cheered.
"She really knocked it out." Brock said.
"She and Misdreavus were really confident. I knew she'd pull it off." Ash said.
Later Serena stood on the deck of the ship with Michel and Miette.
"Well all 3 performers gave us quite an astounding show, but only one will take home the Master's key. The other two will both receive silver ribbons."
"This is it." Serena thought trying to stay confident. She had to remember that she and her pokemon gave everything they had.
"Our winner, is Serena Achille." The master of ceremonies said.
"Mis?" Misdreavus said in disbelief.
"We won, we actually won!" Serena shouted.
"Hmp, how about that." Miette said.
"Alright way to go Serena!" Ash shouted.
"Pika!".
The Master of Ceremonies handed Serena the chest. She opened it up and saw the key inside.
She held it in her hand and then showed it to Misdreavus.
"We did it Misdreavus, we made it into the Master's league." Serena said.
"Mis!".
Miette turned to Serena.
"I'll give you this, you have some skill. Probably what got you that Ash. But know I will get into the Master's tournament." Miette said.
"I guess I'll see you there then." Serena said.

Serena met up with the others back inside the hotel.
"You did amazing Serena." Lucy said.
"Thanks guys." Serena said as she showed them the key.
"You handled yourself greatly out there Serena. I'm proud of you." Ash said as Serena blushed a little.
"You did do really well." Brock said.
"Congratulations Serena. You're performance was amazing." Delia said.
"Thank you Delia."
"You know, you can start calling me mom." Delia said.
Above them in a vent the same creature that had been on the beach was in the vent watching Delia.
"She's still in the Hotel."
Later that night Serena was in her room with Ash. Pikachu was already asleep on Ash's pillow.
Serena now in just her black bra and panties staring out at the city's lights.
Ash came out of the bathroom in his boxers wiping off his wet hair with a towel.
"Starring out at the city's lights, I suppose it is quite a sight."
Serena looked back at him.
"You just took a shower? Didn't you take one this morning?".
"No, if I remember right you took your time in the shower when we got up. Then after you left My mom dragged Brock and me off to talk about the wedding, so I didn't have a chance." Ash said as he stood beside her.
Serena put her arms around his shoulders.
"Well when we're married we won't have that problem, we can just shower together." Serena said before she kissed him and his face turned red.
After she withdrew Ash regained himself.
"You handled Miette well, it seemed like you both had mutual respect when you two left." Ash said.
"I just remembered what you said. It helped me a lot." Serena said.
"I'm glad it did."
Serena brushed her fingers across Ash's hair.
"I'm pretty tired, we should get some sleep." Serena said before the two got into bed and drifted off.
It was now storming in Saffron city and the streets were practically empty, save for some rocket grunts lurking about.
Atop the Silph corp tower in the presidents office sat a man sitting in the president's desk, only he wasn't the president. Standing beside him was none other than Seir and sitting in front of him on the desk was a holo communicator.
Moments later the communicator turned on showing Jessie, James, and Meowth.
"Report." The man in the chair said.
"Sir, we've found the woman you've been looking for. She was with her boy the twerp who's been interfering with our plans." Jessie said.
The man had his hands clasped together in front of his face.
"Is her husband with her?" The man asked.
"No." James said.
"Excellent, when she parts ways with the boy, bring her to me. Unharmed , I have plans for her." He said.
"We got sir, don't you worry about a thing." Meowth said.
The communicator turned off and the man sat back in his chair.
"If Delia thought she had escaped me, she was sorely mistaken. It's time I teach their entire family a lesson." The man said.

Yeah I put Miette in this story, thought it would be better than Sara,
Also I think I did the Serena jealous theme to death so this idea was devoted to show she'd gotten past that
Also no one responded to my question from the last chapter,
Would you rather see me stick with pokemon in a mystery dungeon story, or branch out to star wars?
I would like some answers to this , It's just good to know.
