Hey there, another chapter ready to go. Now I think about it, I forgot to mention in the Hotel Transylvania chapter that Sora and co. returned to their 'normal' attire when they left, oh well..
So, anyway, on with the disclaimer: Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy were created by Square. Nintendo made the Super Smash Brothers series and most of the games associated with its characters. Expect major spoilers from Super Smash Brothers: Brawl's adventure mode: The Subspace Emissary.
Subspace
Sora's group warped through another portal and found themselves landing on what appeared to be a vast grassland. Looking around, they could see what appears to be the shorelines of a lake.
Serenia took in the sights as she looked around"Its beautiful, here."
Sora nodded"I'll bet. Wait, I sense something off, here..." The brunette Keybearer couldn't quite put his finger on what is wrong, though, but he could feel a strange power emitting from somewhere nearby.
Taios spotted a black arrow and pushed Yuna aside"Move!" The arrow narrowly missed Taios as he moved.
What looked like a brunette young woman in regal attire glanced at them with a strange weapon in her hand"Looks like i missed. It is not every day that beings from other worlds appear here."
"Thanks, Taios" smiled Yuna, getting up.
Tidus was surprised"How do you know of us?"
The woman merely pointed her 'gun' at Tidus, only for it to be knocked out of her hands by a slightly overweight plumber in red and blue, accompanied by a winged youth with brown hair.
Serenia gasped in surprise at the newcomers"Who are you?"
The slightly overweight man grinned"Its-a me, Mario."
The angel shot a few arrows at the phantom woman, who retaliated with fireballs. Mario jumped and kicked the 'phantom' backwards.
"How dare you!" she growled.
The angel boy smirked"You're not the real Zelda! Time to put down the imposter!"
The phantom doppleganger scoffed"Hmph, an soldier of Palutena and a half-baked plumber... as well as you lot. This should be most-"
"do you ever shut up?" interrupted Taios, attacking with Shadow Breaker.
Zelda? staggered back, giving Mario the chance to lunge at the Zelda imposter and knock her into the air while Tidus finished the job with Blitz Ace.
Nearby, A blond man in a green tunic accompanied by a green dino happened to be passing through just as Pit, Tidus and Mario finished off the Zelda imposter. Enraged, not knowing it wasn't Zelda who just went down, Link charges onto the scene and attempted to use a downward stab at Mario.
Pit gasped"Whoa! Wait a minute-"
Mario rolled out of the way, while the green dino caught up to the group.
Sora was confused"what's going on here?"
"I don't need to explain myself!" yelled the blond, charging at Tidus with a thrust, only for Tidus to block and the two of them locked blades. Ceodore darted forward and jabbed at the green-clad blond, driving him back.
"SHUUUUUT UUUUUUUP!" Taios yelled, jumping in the air and blasting between link and the others as he landed in between them"Link, if you can't tell the difference between a fake phantom Zelda and the real thing, you're even more clueless than Yoshi! And that is just sad!"
Link was silent for a moment"Huh? Sorry, I saw it from a distance, hard to tell from that far away. But how do you know me?"
"Taios, here comes from a world that sees your world as a simulation, or video games as he sees it. Oh, and I'm Sora. My friends and I are from other worlds" Sora explained.
"... I see. My name is Link, as you just heard" the blond man introduced himself.
Pit grined"Now that that's cleared up, I'm Pit, Captain of Palutena's Army."
Yuna beamed"Pleased to meet you, my name is Yuna."
"Name's Tidus" smiled the blond Ace.
"I'm Serenia. This is Tyler, Cecil, Kain and Ceodore" piped the teenage red-head.
"You're quite the colorful bunch. Oh, have you seen a cloaked overweight guy carrying some kind of bomb?" The angelic warrior inquired.
Cecil shook his head"We have not, but we're artifact called the Dawn Shard. Heard of it?"
Mario shook his head"Nope."
"We're also looking for a guy who kind of looks like Taios. He's a sadistic nutcase called Saxito" supplied Tidus.
Link raised an eyebrow"Saxito? Never heard of him."
"I've heard of him through Lady Palutena... but some of the details are sketchy at best... but what i do know is that he is really dangerous" said Pit, grimly.
Sora crossed his arms in thought"Huh, sounds like the entire World Order is getting word of him. Well, can we go with you guys wherever you are headed until we find the Shard?"
"I don't-a see why not. Pit and I had been looking for our friends and trying to stop whatever is-a happening" grinned Mario.
"Thanks. But what exactly is going on, here?" Serenia inquired.
"Monsters have attacked and blew up a stadium that Mario and Kirby, another friend, were having a friendly smash contest. We're trying to find our friends and stop the monsters. According to Lady Palutena, the creatures are connected to the 'Subspace Emissary" explained Pit.
"And we need to hurry to find them. Like now" said Taios, going ahead a bit.
"If Taios is this panicked, then this is a serious matter, indeed. Let us hurry onward" said Kain.
The group hurried on, meeting up with a pink puffball along the way. The puffball greeted them cheerfully"Hi."
"Kirby, you're all right!" said Mario, relieved.
Link looked around"I hear something nearby."
A kart driven by a red-clad humanoid which looked vaguely like a blue penguin raced by, Pit shot at it upon seeing a trophilized Peach still in his custody.
"Where was it headed?" said Sora, puzzled.
Link and Mario led the way to a cave, only to find the kart smashed up not too far from it. Taios glanced around"Why do I get this feeling that there's gonna be a stupid cliché?"
As they entered the cavern they found themselves to a castle, and inside it laid the throne room. Saxito stood not to far away with a smirk"Heh. And here we have the motley crew of idiots. One that's a monster, and the others are tools... And then there's Tidus and Yuna."
Link gripped his sword"I take it you are Saxito?"
"What is it, now?" said Tidus.
Saxito grinned"Here to give you guys some juicy info, again."
"We had enough of your help. Please leave us" said Yuna.
Saxito scoffed"Oh, so you don't wanna know that Bowser and Gannondorf are teaming up and causing this chaos with the shards." He gave out another smirk.
Link's eyes widened"What? Well, not if we have anything to say about it."
"Well, thanks for letting us know" said Serenia.
Sora squared his shoulders"We'll save this world and get the shards, then."
Saxito gave an amused smile as he started to leave"Better hurry. If not... Some unfortunate accidents might happen to the others. Who knows? Maybe some of my Manikins might murder innocent lives. hmhmhmhmhmhmh."
Sora scoffed"Yeah, accidents you cause."
"I'd love to knock that sucker down a few pegs, but we have some other business" said Pit, flying ahead.
Link, Pit and Sora led the way towards some wilderness, only for the group to be accosted by Primids and some Powerwild Heartless.
"Just our luck" said Tidus, readying his blade.
Sora cut down a Powerwild and parried against another. Link and Mario charged at the Primids, attacking with blade and fist respectively. It was then Kain and Ceodore did cross-slash plus on the Primids and Heartless.
In a control room, Saxito approached a red-haired man in black armor who had just received orders from a hand-like entity"Still the ever-controlling tool, Gannondork?"
Ganondorf turned abruptly to Saxito"Who dares- Who the heck are you!? I've never seen your face. I'm amazed you know my name, but you look just another weak fool to me."
Saxito grinned"And yet, with sora and his posse, they'll undermine your plan... and will steal that shard your holding by killing you with their otherworldly weapons. Whilst I know all of their weaknesses."
Ganondorf took a deep breath"Then I don't suppose you wish to join me, whoever you are? This realm is beyond death, all fighters in this realm merely become trophies until revived. Do you not know this?"
Saxito cocked his head"Ah. But you're forgetting one thing: Sora and co. don't follow the rules of this world. Death is absolute with them around. And as for teaming up, sure. I might even lend you a hand with my vast resources of my powerful armies... but as you said. I'm just weak compared to you."
Ganondorf was quiet for a moment before saying"You certainly do underestimate me, I shall be interested in these 'armies' you mentioned."
Sora struck down two more Powerwilds, while Tidus, Serenia, Tyler, Kain, Cecil, Link, and Mario mopped up the rest of the Primids. Yuna briefly summoned Ixion to dispose the remaining Heartless.
"There, all done" said Taios.
Sora looked around"So, where to, now?"
Link shrugged and began to lead the way further through the wilderness"Dunno, but this place looks endless. Let's keep looking."
The group eventually found their way to a nearby cliff leading down into the canyon, where several more fighters were fighting off a hoard of subspace monsters and Heartless. A blond teen, a youth with a red cap and two blue-haired swordsmen were fighting them. Link, Mario, Kirby, Pit and Yoshi rushed to join the fray.
Taios readied himself"lets go kick some heartless a$$es!"
But as the group started to join in... something was wrong... really wrong as a squad of manikins of temporal flash started appearing as well as samurai nobodies in the mix.
Tidus gasped"Where did they come from?" He barreled at some of the Manikins with Slice n' Dice, while Kain and Cecil each engaged a samurai nobody in combat. Ceodore cut through a Manikin and dodged to avoid being smashed by a Samurai.
Yuna summoned Valefor while Serenia cast an elemental spell or two against the Manikins.
What are they?!" said Pit as he fired holy arrows at the nobodies and the manikins.
"Explain later! Fight now!" said Taios as he Fired a dark Firaga at the manikins and used a holy smite spell at the heartless and nobodies. Sora wiped out two Samurai Nobodies and a Manikin with combos and Strike Raid. Cecil and Kain had managed to defeat their opponents and ganged up on another Samurai Nobody, taking it down.
Ceodore and Tidus protected Yuna from approaching Manikins while Valefor unleashes Energy Ray at the Heartless and Nobodies. One of the blue-haired swordsman had just cut down some Primids and glanced at his fellow smashers and some strangers fighting off more enemies"Looks like we have company."
A red-capped Pokémon Trainer stood, surprised"You mean even more than before?"
Ike rushed up to a Samurai Nobody and cut it down with Aether. Lucas, Marth and the Pokémon Trainer turn their attention to some remaining Soldier Heartless. Then out of nowhere, darkness can be sensed as they witnessed the boy quickly fighting off the primids and manikins
"Whew. Almost done!" grinned Taios.
Lucas used PK Freeze to freeze a Samurai in place before following up with a jump and double kick. Ike smashed the Frozen Samurai Nobody before it could recover. Marth and Link cut through the remaining Primids, while Mario, Ceodore, Pit and Ike tackled the Manikins. The Pokemon Trainer instructed a Dragon Pokémon, Charizard to incinerate the Soldier Heartless.
Marth looked around"That appears to be the last of them."
The Pokemon Trainer smiled"Pit, Link, Mario, Yoshi, Kirby, thanks for the assist."
Link nodded"No problem. But we owe some credit to our new friends."
Ike, a blue-haired mercenary, glanced at Sora's group"I see, and you are?"
"I'm Sora" Sora introduced himself.
Taios smiled"Taios, ceodore, Tyler, Serenia, Cecil, kain, Tidus and Yuna. Long story short we're heroes saving as many worlds as we can."
Marth: I see, pleased to meet you all. We're also from different dimensions.
"Well, at any rate, we still have to look for Ganon and Bowser, they have a Dawn Shard" said Sora.
Pit shrugged"Those two are pushovers, we still have to get rid of the Subspace Army, if we can find their leader."
"Wait, look" said Link, spotting a huge battleship and a smaller vessels. The Battleship Halberd and the smaller vessels approached and landed near the joined groups. An ape, a monkey, an anthropic fox and falcon, an armored bounty huntress, another bounty hunter and several others approached.
Pit smiled with excitement"The rest of our friends are here!"
Ike glanced at their allies"Hm. not quite. We're still missing Ness and Luigi."
Link spotted a brunette girl in a dress"Zelda, you're all right!"
Zelda smiled"Snake, Lucario and Meta-Knight saved me and Peach from the Subspace Army."
After briefly embracing Zelda, Link spoke"All that's left to do is take down Subspace and show Bowser and Ganondorf who's boss. If we're lucky, we'll also find Ness and Luigi. And who knows what King Dedede is up to."
Taios shrugged"That guy is a wildcard... but we might want to be careful... with Saxito here, he'll most likely use Gannondorf and Bowser for his own gain. and trust me on this... he is the biggest *j%rk in the universe."
Fox smiled""We've got'em outnumbered, but we can't be too careful."
Marth nodde"Indeed."
"Let's get on the Halberd. Assuming we know where to look for the entrance to the Subspace Army's lair" said Link.
"We spotted an anomaly not too far from here, that could be our way in" Samus informed.
Marth nodded again"We'll need to proceed as cautiously as possible, our enemy isn't stupid, they'll likely try to intercept us as we approach."
"And most likely do some cliché armada thing... What? don't Gannondorf and Bowser do over-the-top stuff?" said Taios, with the others staring incredulously.
Link shrugged"Sometimes, yeah."
They boarded the Halberd in preparation to attack the Subspace Army's dimension.
Meanwhile, Saxito, Bowser and Ganondorf stood on top of a huge canon.
Saxito informed the red-headed man"My spies say that the idiots are preparing to invade our lair. You know, I'm kinda surprised you haven't betrayed me yet, Ganny. Usually by now, pretentious villains tend to end this alliance."
Ganondorf shrugged"I find myself wondering why I haven't done exactly that, myself. You have your usefulness. I am ready for those fools, whenever they come."
The Halberd and the smaller vessels zoomed their way towards the entrance to Subspace. Sora and the others were in the Halberd, itself. Sora took the helm and destroyed the armada canon, forcing Ganon, Saxito and Bowser back.
Soon, they landed inside Subspace, which is a twisted dimension similar to the Realm of Darkness mixed with the World that Never Was.
Serenia whimpered"This place is..."
"Kinda creepy, I know" muttered Tyler.
Sora readied his keyblade"Let's stay alert."
Sora's group, accompanied by the Smashers, proceed through the Subspace Realm, taking down Primids and other creatures as they ventured deeper inside.
In another part of Subspace, Ganondorf had turned on Bowser, turning him into a trophy and taking his shard. He walked forth until he see what looked like a dangling white hand, controlled apparently by what looked to be a ghostly-white man with glowing wings, just as the ghostly man was about to attack Gannondorf... he stopped to see the nobody entering... and had a slight nervous look"explain why you have come here, Saxito."
Saxito looked at the entity with amusement"Oh nothing much... just thought I'd lend a hand to this insect. But his usefulness as an actual person ends."
Gannondorf was outraged"You believe you can defeat me?! HA! i will end you and- gah!" Saxito had warped over and grabbed him by the throat.
"You're hardly in any position to be calling the shots anymore, and I'll be taking your Triforce of Power now, now" said Saxito with an insane smirk.
Ganondorf was puzzled"How did You know of the Triforce? Fine, but Link and Princess Zelda have the Triforces of Courage and Wisdom. Why do you have need of it? And I swear to you, Saxito, I will get my revenge on you."
Ganondorf channeled magic power to expel the Triforce of Power from himself.
Saxito smiled"Oh don't worry... even if I take the entire thing... you three will have it back when I'm done with it... but lets just say... I'm planning a very SPECIAL surprise for every god and goddess in exist... and who knows? Maybe I might be even WORSE than the demon in your world that the people feared in the ancient past. And don't fret. I'm sure link and Zelda will save you eventually after Tabuu turns you into a trophy."
Saxito lets Ganondorf go and vanishes while Tabuu did exactly as Saxito predicted and turned him into a trophy. Master Hand broke free and tried to attack, but was knocked down.
Not far away, Taios grimaced as he felt a powerful aura"
Link was puzzled"What?"
"I sense it, too... Something powerful's around the corner" murmured Zelda.
"What's wrong, exactly?" said Sora.
Taios grimaced"we're close to the big baddy, Sora... and he's really strong... think a darkside heartless times 10."
As they arrived to where tabuu was, the Subspace leader looked at Taios"So you are the boy who is similar to the other... I am almost amused that you are weaker than him."
Taios readied himself.
Link glanced at Tabuu"That's the Subspace Army's leader, I presume?"
Zelda nodded"I'd assume so."
Pit smiled"Now we can settle this!"
"Sounds like Saxito's been here, too..." said Serenia.
Tabuu nodded"Indeed... The boy who does not exist yet does has approached me...however... he is not a weak insect like Gannondorf was... but like all tools, he has become most useful in opening the way to the world of trophies... but his part is over. And now, to serve as an example... all of you will return to become trophies... and fall into the void for all etenity!"
"Not if we stop you!" cried Taios.
Sora's group and the Smashers teamed up to fight, but all of that was for naught when Tabuu blasted a wave to the group. But when it hit Sora and co, it blasted them away outside of subspace to inside the underground castle.
When the coast was clear, Saxito collected and placed the trophies of the characters that were blasted, and placed Zelda and Link together. He then pulled out the Triforce of Power in one hand and started to use it to extract the other two Saxito smiled evily"I finally got it... the complete Triforce... Oh, how this is so freaking easy. I didn't even have to do anything. Now for my wish... I desire to have half of it's entire life-force and be manifested into a crystal in my hand."
The wish was granted as the triforce itself began to emit a powerful light and begun to create a golden crystal the size of the crystals of cecils world. Saxito cackled"hmhmhmhahahahha, AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! yes! at long last! it is mine! all mine! ... heheheh. now the that the triforce's usefulness has been overwith... I don't need it anymore. Now to find Ganondork" he returned the Triforces of Courage and Wisdom and walked away.
At the underground castle, Serenia groaned as she landed on her back"Urgh! ... Is everyone okay?"
Sora looked around"I think so, but let me heal us to be safe" he used Curaga to heal his teammates of any injuries they may have gotten.
Tyler shuddered"W-what happened to everyone else?"
Nearby, there were three trophies, a teen with black hair, striped shirt and shorts and a man in green in blue had been mysteriously revived with gold brooches that looked like Dedede's face. The dark-haired teen removed his brooch and took Luigi's off for him. They glance at what was King Dedede, the penguin-like humanoid from earlier, and eventually revived him, seeing that he had helped them.
Cecil saw Ness' group"I see three others over there."
King Dedede, Ness and Luigi were about to venture out when they saw Sora and his group. Ness addressed them"Huh? Who are you guys?"
Sora smiled warmly"I'm Sora. This is Serenia, Tyler, Taios, Tidus, Yuna, Cecil, Ceodore and Kain."
King Dedede grunted"Yeah, yeah. Anyhow, I'm King Dedede, Ruler of Pop Star. These two whose hides I've saved are Ness and Luigi. We've got to find the others and bust that Tabuu guy, never mind how I know of him. All I know is that he planned to turn us into trophies."
Taios shrugged"well, you're a bit late for that. He already succeeded in turning the others into trophies, but yeah, if we hurry and save em', we'll stop tabuu together."
Ness smiled"I'm with taios. Even though this is the first time we met... I want to trust you."
Sora nodded"All right, let's do it."
Accompanied by King Dedede, Ness and Luigi, the group headed back into Subspace. Along the way, they found trophies of Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Captain Falcon, Fox, Falco, Snake, Game and Watch, Lucas, and the Pokémon Trainer and revived them.
Mario winked"Thanks a bunch-a."
Sora smiled"No problem, guess the others are deeper inside... This place is bigger than we first thought."
They traveled until they come upon the trophilized King Bowser. Dedede touches the bronze part of the trophy and revives the koopa king. Bowser instantly let out a furious roar.
Taios sighed"Oh, great. He's really mad now!"
King Dedede readied his hammer with a serious look"I'll knock some sense into em'."
Bowser stomped towards Dedede and swiped at him. Dedede barely dodged and swings his hammer, knocking Bowser back. Bowser retaliated with his fire breath, burning Dedede a bit before charging with a turtle shell spin attack. Dedede barely jumped over it and countered with another swing of his hammer.
Serenia paled"What was he angry about?"
Taios shrugged"He's angry that Gannondorf used him... course... it's not really surprising. I mean, Bowser is kinda stupid."
Peach nodded"Yeah, he is."
Eventually, King Dedede smashed Bowser enough to turn him back into a trophy. Dedede revived him once again a split moment later. Bowser had then let out another roar.
Dedede slapped Bowser"Snap out of already you stupid turtle! Our target is deeper in there." He pointed behind the Koopa King.
Bowser calmed down somewhat, but was still irked"Humph!" He then noticed Sora's group"And who are these numbskulls?"
Sora addressed him"Uh, I'm Sora. Long story short, we came to help save this world from Subspace. I'm looking for a Dawn Shard, have you seen one? We're also gonna help deal with Tabuu."
Bowser grunted"Ganondork has it... And when I find him, I'm gonna show 'im what happens when you double-cross the koopa king! And I've a bone to pick with this 'Tabuu' guy."
Serenia smiled"Well, glad you're going to help us, anyway."
Bowser grunted, then began to walk ahead. The others accompaned him.
Elsewhere in Subspace, Kirby had also been revived, he had swallowed one of Dedede's 'brooches.' And when he revived himself, he involuntarily regurgitated the brooch. Stunned, but determined to go help his friends, the pink puffball walked on. Kirby revived most of his friends, including Link and Zelda. Saxito was nearby, unexpectedly as the Nobody raised an eyebrow"Hm?"
Kirby cautiously approached Saxito a bit"Pyo?" (Taios?)
Zelda quickly put a hand on Kirby's head"Wait, Kirby, something isn't right about him."
Pit spoke up"Don't be fooled by what you see, guys. That guy is Saxito. Looks kinda like Taios, though. I bet he's more powerful than Medusa, very dangerous. Trust me, Lady Palutena told me about him."
Saxito gave an amused smile"Aww, isn't this cute. the goddesses chew toy is playing suckup. Zelda, why don't give this to Gannondork when you revive em' to fight tabuu." He threw her the Triforce of Power, but something felt wrong... as it half of it was weakened.
Zelda felt a strange lack of power from the piece"What did you do?"
Pit shrugged"Must have syphoned it of its power, somehow..."
Link readied his sword"Then we'll just have to teach him a lesson."
Zelda put a hand on Link's shoulder"I wouldn't, Link. If he somehow has some of the Triforce's power as a result, we'll just get creamed and turned into trophies again. Wait, maybe we can bait him and have Kirby absorb and send whatever power he has right back at him."
Kirby shook his head"No can do, Zel. Taios' weapon was very different, whatever weapon or power this guy may have might be too foreign. My copy ability won't work on anything too strong."
Zelda sighed"You're probably right, we'll let Sora's group take care of him once Tabuu has gone down. If Sora's okay... But Saxito, what did you want with the Triforce's power? Even Ganon wouldn't do this, I don't see how anyone here could..."
Saxito smirked"Simple, princess. I'm planning something that will benefit everyone... and the surprise is so great, that Hylia herself, as well as every god and goddess in existence will simply be shocked... to DEATH. (creepy smile) you might wanna hurry. wouldn't want to be left behind and allow tabuu to send the world of trophies into the void, now would we? ^_^
Zelda shrugged and led her group further along, reviving Wario and finding Ganon along the way.
Gannondorf was not happy to see the two"Hmph, i suppose you two should expect gratitude from me..."
Link hesitated"I'm not sure we should..."
Taios suddenly ran towards them"Link, Zelda! your back!" The other smashers and the rest of Sora's group accompanied him.
Gannondorf glared at Taios slightly" your that-... Hmph, I see... you are different than Saxito..."
Taios scoffed"Of course I'm different than him, captain obvious. Unlike him, I don't use people to get what I want. Something you don't understand. But I do understand that he needs to be stopped. I think a truce is in order."
Ganondorf frowned"And why should I even trust you?"
Zelda handed the red-haired Gerudo the Triforce of Power"Here, take this. The Triforce of Power has been drained a little by Saxito, though..."
Ganondorf took back the Triforce of Power, only to feel a lack of magic from it"What? Saxito... If I even catch that double-crosser-"
"Says the guy who turned me into a trophy!" growled Bowser.
Peach interjected"Guys, now's not the time, we have to keep our heads. Right now, we have to destroy Tabuu."
"She's right, everyone. So where to?" piped Sora.
Link glanced ahead to see a stairway leading to what appeared to be bubble-like areas representing areas destroyed by Subspace"We go up there. Ganon, Bowser, will you cooperate with us? We need the help we can get against Tabuu."
Ganondorf gave a deep sigh"Fine. But don't expect me to get all buddy-buddy with you."
"Thank you" said Zelda with a slight smile.
"Uh, Ganondorf, right? Do you happen to have a Dawn Shard? It kind of looks like this" Sora asked, showing him the one he found at Alabasta.
"Very well, its of no further use to me, anyway. But don't tell anyone I let you have it, I have a reputation" said Ganondorf, taking out his 'Dawn Shard' and forcibly placing it in Sora's hand.
Sora pocketed the Dawn Shards"Okay, guys, let's go."
Sora, Link, Zelda and Mario led the way up the staircase into a vast maze-like region of Subspace. Ganon and Bowser followed them reluctantly, the latter glaring at the for a moment. Soon, they came across a city of clouds
Taios was amazed"huh... so this is what skyworld looks like."
Saxito stood nearby, back against a darkened door"And it's even more fun when all odds aren't in your favor. Oh, and before you idiots go nuts in trying to fight me? Let me remind you that I have half the entire triforce's life energy in my hand. It's funny that I never had to do squat. Also... behind me is a door that leads to an illusion arena... Where a phantom shadow version of pit resides. Almost has the personality of pit's darkside."
Link shrugged"We can handle it. And if the Triforce can give you some power, it can take it back. All that would take is another wish."
Zelda wasn't certain"I don't know, Link. It might not be that easy to fix the Triforce of Power..."
Pit smiled"My Dark Side? Let me at'em!"
Pit, Link, Sora and Ike strode toward the door. But as soon as they did, the area was a destroyed skyworld, and a dark blast instantly hit pit from behind.
Dark Pit snarled"Sbout time you showed up, Pit. I was getting worried you wouldn't fight me."
Pit: Well, got no choice to, now.
Link readied his sword and charges in, slashing at Dark Pit, followed by an arrow from Pit himself while the dark version retaliated with a charged dark arrow.
Dark Pit snarled as he proceeded to brutally attack Pit"I wonder how long palutena will stay loyal to you, Pit. She says jump, you say how high, she tells you to fight you fight. Sounds like a meaningful existence... to her that is."
Pit staggered, but managed to block some of Dark Pit's moves before countering with a slash attack. Link pitched in with a bomb at the doppelganger giving Pit the chance to do the finisher with a holy arrow shot.
Dark Pit: groaned, but got up"hmph... You don't know it yet, pit... but we will meet again. Count on that."
Link smiled"That was easy enough."
"Something tells me he wasn't lying..." Pit trailed off.
They left the chamber, proceeding to explore more of the vast maze. Serenia looked around as they explored the forest portion"What kind of labyrinth is this, anyway?"
"We're in Subspace, don't let any bizarre environmental changes throw you" advised Samus.
Taios squared his shoulders"it won't."
They eventually came upon a door that had the insignia of vexen's shield on it, as streams of nothingness surrounded it with a chilling aura. Yuna shivered"this isn't normal."
Sora shrugged"Whatever it is, its definitely giving a chilling air."
"Let's just see what's behind the door" said the Hylian Princess.
Sora, Link, Zelda, Tidus and Yuna headed through the door. And as they entered, they arrived at what seemed to be an illusion of the Twilight Town Mansion entrance with the keyhole lock still in place. A black card started to manifest as a shadowy presence seeped in through nothingness, summoning the chilly academic himself, Vexen.
Vexen? started floating and summoned his shield, glancing amusingly at them"HAHAHAHA! your data will be most useful, sora!"
Sora readied his Kingdom Key"Don't remember you, but you're going down!"
Tidus charged at Vexen, his sword bouncing off the shield.
Sora saw what had to be done"We need to get behind him." He darted behind Vexen and unleashed a combo attack on him. Vexen whirled around and countered with Ice Needles before throwing Blizzaga at Yuna, Tidus and Link. Yuna healed her allies, and then summoned Ifrit while Link hurled a bomb to distract Vexen enough for Tidus to slash the Nobody in the side.
At the same time a targeting circle with a blue nobody insignia was pursuing Sora, and the nobody freezes him in a ice burg, keeping Sora in the targeted circle. Vexen?: cackled"All this Information! It's perfect! Hehehehahahaha!"
Vexen slashed at Link, Zelda and Taios. Link angrily dodged and darted at Vexen, stabbing him in the back. Yuna instructed Ifrit to attack with Meteor Strike while Zelda countered with Nayru's Love.
Tidus hurried to free Sora while doing a spiral cut on Vexen's shield. It was instantly destroyed, but that didn't stop the nobody to summon the completed Anti-Sora from his hand.
Vexen snarled"Destroy them!"
Sora was freed by Tidus"Thanks." With that, Sora raised his keyblade in time to deflect a blow from Anti-Sora. Link fired an arrow at Vexen, while Zelda performs her Final Smash: The Light Arrow.
Vexen Collapsed, then slowly goes back up, summoning his shield again as he faded into nothingness. Sora blocked and parried Anti-Sora's attacks and retaliated with Strike Raid. Tidus pitched in with Blitz Ace while Link shoots Anti-Sora with an arrow. Sora then used arc arcanum against his anti self and ended the doppelganger.
Link shrugged"Definitely not the worst."
Sora turned to head out"Guess we should head back to the others."
They regrouped and head further on through the maze. Tidus addressed Taios"Taios? There was this organization member we faced that Saxito had brought in a shadowy silhouette... he had an ice shield and blonde long hair."
Taios grimaced"That would be vexen, Even's nobody... crazy scientist."
Sora shrugged"Let's get going."
They eventually made their way to a neon-lighted room with a set of double doors at its center. Zelda glanced at them"Could that lead to Tabuu's Lair?"
Link nodded"Most likely. It'll get chaotic if we take everyone, that almost got us defeated last time. I'm going. About ten people should be enough for the job."
Sora piped"Count me in. Tidus, Yuna, Serenia, come with us. Can't hurt to have Kain and Ceodore along, either."
"I'm going in, as well" said Zelda, determined.
Taios beamed"Don't forget about me. Strategy is my forte."
Saxito stood nearby"And highly contrived."
Link sarcastically addressed the Nobody"You helping us now, Sax?"
"Let's just go in. But I agree with you, Link. And thanks, Taios" said Sora.
Kain raised an eyebrow"Saxito is indeed a fickle creature. But if he wants to destroy Tabuu, fine by me. Am I wrong?"
Saxito smirked"No, you've got the ball park. Tabuu has something of mine that I need to obtain that's even better then the crystalized Triforce I have. If we temporarily join forces, I'll return the pieces that I stole from Link, the princess, and Gannondork."
Zelda smiled slightly"Thank you."
Sora and Link led the way into Tabuu's chamber. Tabuu was surprised"How did you all survive? And what does the Nobody want, now?"
Saxito put on a creepy smirk"This is very simple, Tabuu. I'm allying myself with these morons for one purpose. I'm going to hurt you in ways you cannot even begin to imagine, Tabuu. First, I'm going to drain out every last bit of essence out of you, then use your skull as a drinking cup."
Tabuu sighed"You are even more foolish than I expected. I could simply send you back to your body, shell!"
As Tabuu was about to power up his wings to unleash another devastating attack wave, a blue blur shot up and struck Tabuu hard on the chest.
Serenia gasped"Who did that?"
Link saw the blue blur attack"I know that blur. That's Sonic the Hedgehog."
Sonic slammed once more against Tabuu and jumped back. Tabuu hissed angrily and teleported to Link, Sora and Taios, enlarging himself briefly to fire laser beams from his eyes. Sora dodged and shot Fira at Tabuu. Taios and Ceodore performed a Cross Splicer as they both glowed with holy aura. As they finished, Saxito unexpectedly fired a barrage of confetti-knives made of pure holy energy, and brutally slammed down on tabuu from above him.
Tabuu flinched from the damage and warped over to one side of the room. Tidus slashed at Tabuu, while Link executed a jumping downward stab. Tabuu retaliated by calling forth a golden whip-like weapon and tossed Link to the side with it, only to be met with a fireball from Zelda. Taios ran to try to grab Link's arm, and he began to use momentum to fling the Hero of Hyrule at the entity, and Link fired a bomb arrow, which exploded on impact
Tabuu groaned"gah... I am wasting my time... It is time to end this, once and for all!" Tabuu began to activate his final smash, but was interrupted when Saxito began to warp behind him and started to dig into Tabuu's skull.
Saxito smirked"You're so pretentious and lame. Just die already! Guys! final blow. NOW!"
"Right" Sora attacked with Arc Arcunum. Link attacked Tabuu with a triple upward slash, followed by Zelda's Fireball and a Cross Slash Prime from Ceodore and Kain.
And lastly, Taios fired a stream of twilight at Tabuu, which created a big circle rune consisting of the Triforce, the Mark of Mastery emblem, and lastly the Sun and Moon Insignia
"Guys! All together now! we're gonna pull off a massive trinity limit!" cried Taios.
Sora nodded"Right. Everyone, let's do this."
Sora, Link, Zelda, Ceodore, Kain, Serenia, Tidus and Yuna readied themselves for the Trinity Limit attack"Light!"
Holy energy gathered and begun to smite Tabuu in its light, Tabuu screamed, collapsed then got slowly back up"This... Isn't the... End... I will not be defeated by fools!"
Saxito gave an amused smirk and walked towards the Entity"Times up, Tabuu. I believe I said... That I'd use your skull as a cup. Guy's gotta eat... And I'm gonna take out your heart, now."
Tabuu gasped"No... St-stay away from me!"
Saxito smiled"Aww, the mighty Tabuu is scared out of his mind... Let's take away that fear shall we?" Saxito then began summoning the Nothing to Something keyblade and blasted the entity with it, resulting a crystalline heart coming out. And the entity himself started to collapse and die as saxito caught the gem-like heart in his hands
Saxito laughed"heheheh... Hahahahaha Ahahahahaha! Freaking yes! I finally got what I needed! You guys can have your feeble pieces of the power, wisdom and courage." He returned the Triforce's full power to them.
Link"Right. Thanks."
"I don't suppose you want us to be grateful to you, Saxito? Regardless, I thank you for your aid" said Zelda.
Sora shrugged"Guess my group will be going, now."
Saxito smiled"Oh, it's no problem. But just remember one thing. Gods fear me, and demons want to destroy me, but can't. So you might wanna be careful. I might kill you, Gannon, and Link in your sleep."
Tidus scoffed"Yeah, right, Cosmos doesn't get scared easily."
Link smiled confidently"You're free to try, anytime."
Zelda smiled"Sora, we owe your group thanks, as well."
"No problem, princess" replied Sora.
Link smiled at the group"Well, you're free to come by the Smash Universe anytime, Sora. I'm sure guests are allowed to participate in our tournaments."
"Heh. I'm sure we will, Link... But as for Saxito trying to murder you, I'll do everything in my power to stop him" grinned Taios.
Saxito scoffed"You can't make a slice of toast without someone helping you. But anyways, if you guys excuse me, I have to go back to my leir. Lier? L-la? No... Lair! Ba, I hate tongue twisters. Anyways, bye." He left through a dark corridor.
Sora addressed the Smashers"Well, we'll see you guys around, then."
Sora's group met back up with Tyler and Cecil before warping off to another world.
Here you go. The next world for the story will likely be split into two chapters, but we'll see. Oh, and I forgot, I owe Infinitestories thanks for the ideas.
