CH 47: Psychic showdown
Altair stood on large ridge overlooking a plain below him. The plain was mostly grassy and flat until it reached the rocky mountain like ridge with several pathways.
Altair looked down and saw over 20,000 roman legionaries with 1000 legionary pokemon with them, all in formations.
The roman army was in a fierce battle with thousands of templar soldiers and hundreds of knights.
In and among the roman legionaries , helping them, were over 8 dozen of Altair's aura guardians and their partner pokemon.
Beside Altair was Aegon and Malik.
"General Titus's legions are too disciplined and well trained for the templars. With our guardians down there supporting Titus, he'll destroy the templar army by the end of the day." Aegon said.
"I still don't get it, why would Robert de Sable gather all his remaining forces and then just try to capture Romulus like that. " Malik said.
"They have, Maria. She was in his personal bodyguard." Altair said.
"Maria is in the Praetorian guard now?" Aegon said.
"They have Maria ,focus!" Altair shouted.
"Sorry." Aegon said.
"We need to find Robert. He will have Romulus and Maria." Altair said.
"I'll head to the flanks." Malik said.
"My Dragons and I can tear through their vanguard. Help the roman's overwhelm the templars' positions." Aegon said.
"Thank you my brothers. My Reduka be with us." Altair said as Malik and their pokemon went off.
Altair turned to his Lucario.
"Are you ready old friend?"
"Grouu!" Lucario roared.
Altair touched his mega evolution stone and Lucario mega evolved.
The two then quickly made their way across the rocky ridgeway until they leapt down into the passageways.
Altair used his aura vision and saw several red auras up on the ridges above them.
He let out his hidden blades as 10 templar knights and 10 Hypnos leapt down from the ridge above and drew their swords.
The Psychic knights tried to blast Altair with a combined telekinetic waive.
Altair and Lucario covered themselves in aura and glowed blue as they easily moved through the wave of Psychic energy.
After doing so, Altair leapt into and among the knights using his hidden blades to cut through them like they were nothing.
At the same time Mega Lucario unleashed Extremspeed and Metal Claw on the Hypnos.
Altair thrusted his hidden blade through the last knights sword before continuing on and plunging it into the knight's throat.
After finishing off the knights Altair and Lucario rushed further down the path until they saw lower area with a group of 100 or so roman legionaries and a few armored support pokemon with them, battling several dozen templar soldiers.
Altair and Mega Lucario rushed in and joined the fight. Ash noticed that Altair fought with a much fiercer tendency then he did before. He could understand why though, since the templars had the woman he loved.
It took Altair two minutes to clear up any templar soldiers the romans didn't kill.
The centurion of the maniple stepped forward and respectfully bowed to Altair and his Lucario.
"Guardian then you for helping us."
"What are you doing so far from the main battle?"
"My cohort commander ordered 4 maniples to try and move through these passes to outflank their forces. But my maniple was outflanked by their soldiers, we didn't know they were on the ridges." The centurion said.
"If you moved now could you link up with the other legionaries and successfully outflank the templar forces?" Altair asked.
"Yes if we moved in formation, but there are still more templars on the ridge sides ahead. We'll be outflanked." The centurion said.
"No you won't, Move ahead in formation, We'll protect you're rear." Altair said.
"Alright, I trust you. Legionaries fall in!" The centurion shouted as his legionaries quickly fell into formation and made spaces in the formation for their armored support pokemon to stand.
"Forward harch!" The Centurion shouted as his formation moved forward with their shields out and gladiuses held over them.
Altair and Lucario stayed close behind the romans when they saw 20 templar soldiers ahead of them rush at the roman formation.
The romans held their shields up and held back the swords.
As this happened Altair saw 4 templar knights with 4 Kadabras beside them.
The 4 knights leapt down onto the ground with their Kadabras. 2 rushed at Altair while the other 2's eyes glowed blue as they tried to unleash Psychic attacks on the rear of the roman maniple.
Altair held back the 2 knight's swords before hurling them back and unleashing an aura sphere that burst and hurled the two knights back. As the other two knights came back Altiar acrobatically leapt over and slashed his hidden blades across the Knights' throats.
Altair then felt himself get held in place as the two remaining knights tried to use Psychic on him.
Altair took a deep breath and then covered himself in aura, free of the Psychic energy, Altair sprinted forward and knocked the two knight's swords aside before continuing forward through their chain mail.
At the same time Mega Lucario unleashed Extremespeed and Metal claw on the 4 Kadabra before they could launch any attacks.
The maniple kept moving forward and pushing through any templar soldiers they came across. At the same time Altair kept any templars from hitting the romans from behind.
Eventually they reached an open area where they saw another 3 maniples of roman legionaries.
"There they are!" The centurion shouted. Altair saw a large group of templars in a large gap in the ridge battling a pair of roman cohort formations with 4 aura guardians assisting them.
"Charge!" The 4 Centurions shouted as the 4 Maniples successfully outflanked the mass of templar soldiers.
Altair and Lucario sprinted into the massive Melee and assisted the romans. After 10 minutes a templar knight in the center threw down his sword and held his hands up as he used his psychic powers to tell his men.
"We surrender!" He shouted knowing their situation was hopeless.
All of the templar soldiers threw up their arms as their pokemon did the same.
Altair and the other 4 guardians were relieved to see this wouldn't end in massive bloodshed.
The 2 cohorts Primus pilus centurions came forward shouting.
"Get them organized , move them off the battlefield!" One shouted.
"Maniples prepare to keep moving! We've torn a hole in their line, we're going to outflank another part of their army!" The other shouted.
The 4 guardians and their pokemon respectfully bowed to Altair and Lucario.
"Mentor." One said.
"No need for formalities. Keep assisting the romans, they'll kneed your help." Altair said before his guardians and their pokemon quickly followed the roman legionaries.
Altair and Lucario began scaling up the rock formations until they saw the battle below. Altair saw Aegon and his dragons easily plowing through the templar lines with the romans behind him.
He also saw Malik and his Charizard moving at the side of the other part of the rock formations.
"We need to move in further." Altair said as he and Lucario quickly raced across the rock formations.
Eventually as they got further into the templar position they leapt off a rock formation and into an open area.
All around him he saw dead templar soldiers and a few dead knights with 5 knocked out Hypnos and 3 knocked out Kadabras.
"Groou?" Lucario said in confusion.
"What happened here, no romans or guardians have made it this far?" Altair asked.
Moments later he felt psychics approaching him. The two saw over a dozen soldiers and knights wearing dark blue tunics over chainmail with a thicker grey cross in the center with curved ends.
Beside them were several Kadrabra.
One of the knights with a better helmet and a cape stepped forward with an Alakazam beside him. He removed his helmet revealing it to be none other than Garnier de Naplouse.
"Hello Altair, it has been some time." The psychic said.
"You? What's going on?" Altair asked.
"You were right, Robert de Sable is a mad man, that day at the temple you showed me the truth. I didn't want to be a templar any more and I wasn't the only one. We're now the Knights Hospitalier, and we are here to help you stop the templars." Garnier said.
"I'm glad to hear that, I knew there were good psychics out there somewhere. Now where is Robert?"
"His command camp is just beyond that passage, the area around it is crawling with knights. Don't worry, we'll lure as many away as we can , you deal with Robert. End his madness now." Garnier said.
"I will, may Reduka be with you."
"And with you Altair." Garnier said before he put his helmet on and drew his sword.
"To arms men, we spill templar blood!"
"Huzzah!" His knights and shoulders shouted.
Altair and Lucario rushed up the ridge and over the hill until they reached another open area filled with tents.
Like Garnier had said, he and his knights had lured most of the templars away.
Standing in the center of the camp were at least 10 knights with 10 Alakazams. They were all standing around a large Arceon wearing roman's general armor with a laurel wreath on his head. The Arceon had light skin and a large body, bigger than any of the templars of Altair. He had short but thick black hair and grey eyes and was on his knees with his eyes glowing blue.
"Romulus!" Altair shouted as he and Lucario sprinted over.
The knights slowly moved away from the Arceon and surrounded Altair.
The Arceon slowly got up and looked at Altair.
"I , am a servant of the templars." Romulus said in a manipulated voice.
"Beautiful isn't it." Another voice said. Altair and Lucario then saw none other than Robert de Sable with an Alakazam walk up from behind Romulus.
"The console and founder of the roman republic, now my beautiful puppet." Robert said.
"What have you done to him?".
"Isn't it obvious, I have finally learned to use my psychic abilities to assert my will on his. With romulus as my puppet I will control the roman republic."
"This game of yours has failed Robert, as we speak the roman legions tear through your ranks and outflank your forces. You have lost."
"Ha, a minor setback, but with Romulus I will control rome. My losses here will mean nothing."
"Where is Maria?"
"Who?" Robert asked in a mocking tone.
"Where is she!?" Altair screamed.
"Oh , the praetorian guard centurion who was with him. Yes, she's alive I believe, but I don't have her." Robert said.
"What? Who does?"
"I would tell you, but you will be dying now, so it would be pointless. Knights, kill the guardian." Robert said as he and Romulus stepped back and the knights drew their swords.
Altair quickly blocked each of the incoming swords with his hidden blades before acrobatically moving around and stabbing several of the knights.
At the same time Lucario moved fast enough to avoid the Alakazam's psychic powers and struck several with Extremespeed and metal claw.
The other knights tried to subdue Altair with their psychic powers, only to have him knock them back with a burst of aura. Lucario then rushed each one, slashing through their chainmail with his hidden blades.
Once all the knights were dead and the Alakazams knocked out, Robert put his helmet on and touched a mega evolution stone embedded in the hilt of his sword.
His Alakazam mega evolved before the two both unleashed a combined psywave that hurled their opponents back.
As Altair got up he saw Robert rush at him and use Psychic. Altair felt himself get held in place with Mega Lucario beside him.
Just before their opponents could reach them , the two guardians channeled their aura and broke free. Altair raised his hidden blades just in time to block Robert's sword.
The two exchanged several strikes as Mega Lucario and Alakazam also sparred.
Altair used several quick acrobatic moves that normally took care of knights easily. However, Robert was no simple knight, he was the grand templar and was much faster and stronger. He was able to block each of Altair's strikes and strike back with much psychic energy backing his sword.
Altair was knocked back onto the ground several times.
After another time he unleashed an aura sphere into Rorbert's chest that forced him back. Despite this , the grand templar came right back and blasted Altair with a psywave.
Altair acrobatically flipped backwards and landed on his feet before blocking Robert's sword. He locked his hidden blades in an X as he tried to hold back Robert's sword.
As the broadsword moved closer and closer, Altair unleashed aura into his next push and forced the sword arm aside before acrobatically leaping up and kicking Robert's helmet so hard it dented it.
The Grand templar stumbled backwards and pulled off his helmet before spitting out some blood.
He scowled at Altair before sprinting back at him.
This time , however, Altair was ready. He absorbed Robert's psychic attack with his aura then acrobatically jump kicked his arm aside before slashing his hidden blade across his face.
The grand Templar stumbled backward before Altair leapt into him and forced him onto the ground as he plunged his right hidden blade into his chest.
At the same time Mega Lucario unleashed close combat across Robert's Mega Alakazam's body, knocking him out.
Altair stood over the dying Grand templar as he looked him in the eyes.
"It's done then, your schemes like you are laid to rest."
Robert smiled and laughed as he coughed out some blood.
"Now I see…Ha ha ha, you know nothing guardian."
"Tell me where Maria is, or die now!" Altair screamed.
"You fool, I don't have your woman."
"Who does then?"
"The one who trained me. The one who taught me how to use my psychic abilities, who told me to form the knights templars. He told me I was destined to save the world from the evil of our kind. That I was the one chosen by the creator. But he lied to me, he used me and my men, when he saw I couldn't get him what he wanted he ordered us on this suicide mission to get rid of us. He knew you'd kill me, he said when the leader had fallen to give the message to my opponent, "Come to me and come alone." He has your woman guardian, he wants you, he wanted you all along."
"Who, who are you talking about?" Altair asked.
"The man in the mountain."
Altair and Lucario felt a slight shimmer run through them.
"You, you lie. The man in the mountain doesn't exist. He's just a legend, a myth."
"He's as real as you and me. The son of a psychic and a aura wielder. He's the one who caused all of this. He manipulated the Tull tribes into forming an empire, knowing it would forge the templars and the guardians. He wanted you all along, I was just the means to an ends, as were all those people and pokemon who are now dead."
"If you speak the truth I will bring him to justice."
"Ha, you stand no chance against him. Still if you want your woman back you have to confront him alone. Funny, I your one true enemy kept you safe from him. Now you have ended my life and in doing so , ended your own." Robert said before dying.
Altair took a deep breath before he and Lucario got up and turned to Romulus who's eyes returned to normal and held his head.
"ohh." he said as Altair helped him up.
"Altair, is that you?" He asked.
"It is old friend."
"It was horrible, I had no control over my free will."
"Robert is dead now. His templars are finished."
"Than it's finally over."
"Not yet."
Moments later Garnier and his knights approached with several Praetorian guards beside them.
"Altair , we've freed Romulus's guards." He said before he saw Robert's body.
"He's gone, he's actually gone." He said.
The Praetorian quickly rushed over to Romulus.
"Your grace, are you hurt?" One asked.
"I'm fine." Romulus said.
Soon they were joined by Aegon and Malik.
"Altair, it's done, General Titus has the Templar's surrounded. Most have surrendered, the rest will soon follow suit." Aegon said before they too saw Robert's body.
"You, you did it. We've won!" Malik shouted.
"Grauuu!" He Charizard roared.
"No, we haven't." Altair said.
"What? But the templars have been beaten, Robert is dead?" Aegon asked.
"Robert was the leader of the templars, but not the mastermind behind all of this. We've been played my friends, there was someone else manipulating all of this. The Tulls, the templars, the romans, and the guardians. He wanted this to happen."
"Who?" Malik asked.
"The man in the mountain."
The others shuttered.
"No, no it can't be. He's just a myth Altair." Aegon said.
"Robert claimed he was real and that he has Maria."
"We did search the camp and found no sign of the Praetorian centurion." Garnier said.
"If this is true then I'll tell General Titus to prepare the army to march on the mountain." Romulus said.
"We'll tell the guardians to prepare as well." Malik said.
" wants me Malik, he wants me alone. I must do this myself."
"What?" The others shouted.
"No, it's to dangerous Altair." Aegon said.
"It's what he wants!" Garnier said.
"No Altair, I won't let you! You know the legends, you know what he is, if he captures you!" Malik said before he started to tear up.
"You're like a brother to me, I won't let you do this to yourself!" Malik shouted before Altair put his hand on his friend's shoulder.
"Malik, he has the woman I love. But it's not just that. He has another I love, probably even more." He said.
Malik looked into his friend's eyes.
"You don't mean?"
"I do." Altair said as the others looked down.
"May Reduka be with you mentor." Aegon said.
Malik hugged Altair.
"Promise me you'll come back."
"I will." Altair said.
Several hours later he stepped off Aegon's Charizard and stared at the large mountain passage in front of him.
He took a deep breath before Lucario stepped up beside him.
"I was told to come alone."
"Grooo."
"I wouldn't have it any other way." Altair said as the two made their way up the mountain pass.
Ash's vision returned to normal as he saw Altair's time flower in front of him.
"Woah, that was a big memory. I knew not all psychics were bad, I guess Altair did too." Ash said.
It was early in the morning in Saffron city and Serena slowly opened her eyes.
She slowly got up and stretched before she saw Ash still asleep next to her. Pikachu yawned before he stretched like a cat and leapt off Ash's pillow.
This woke Ash up who stretched his arms then wrapped his arms around Serena before kissing her.
This caught Serena by surprise and caused her face to turn red.
When he withdrew he hugged her and lifted her up.
"Bonjour mon amour" Ash said.
"Geez, what's got you in such a good mood?" Serena said smiling.
"Well my mother is safe, I'm 2 badges from the pokemon league,we're getting married. Plus team rocket is finally gone."
"I guess that's true. But isn't Seir and the officers still out there?" Serena asked.
"Yeah but now Seir's alone with just his pokemon with half the brotherhood hunting him. Plus most of the grunts have been arrested, the companies which were fronts to team rocket are now gone, plus off their offshore accounts have been taken by the government. The officers have nothing to work with now. Which means we don't ever have to worry about team rocket again." Serena said.
Serena loved the idea of not having to deal with team rocket anymore. Just going through their journey uninterrupted by those criminals.
"You're right, things are going to go great now." Serena said.
A few minutes later they were up with the others having breakfast in the dinning area of the guild.
Several young guardians and the guild master were sitting around Ash and Serena , heaving heard they had seen Reduka in person.
"What was it like being in his presence?" One of the young guardians asked.
"Was it overwhelming?" Another asked.
"It was a bit overwhelming, but at the same time is was like all the wisdom, love, and goodness in the world was combined into one being." Ash said.
"Incredible." The master said before he got up.
"Alright we've bothered them enough. We have work to do." The master said as he and the young guardians walked off.
"So I hear the gym leader is safe and back in her gym." Lucy said.
"Great because I want to battle her today."
"Pika!"
"So Brock do you know anything about this gym leader?" Serena asked.
"She was always really secretive. All I know is that she uses psychic pokemon."
"Oh she's far more than just a psychic trainer." Another voice said.
Ash and the others saw a guardian in hooded a green and black jacket robe with a Tyrannitar beside him.
"What are you talking about?" Lucy asked.
"You wanted to know about Sabrina, I can tell you all about her. In fact we've been keeping an eye on her for a long time. Her and her family."
"Why?" Serena asked.
"Because of what she is. Sabrina and her family aren't ordinary people. She's special like us guardians."
"Are you saying she can use aura?" Brock asked.
"No, she's no aura wielder , she's a psychic, the ancient enemy of the guardians."
"A Psychic!" Ash said to himself.
"Wait , a psychic like the knight's templars Altair fought?" Lucy asked.
"Yes, her kind is a descendent of Psychic type pokemon like Alakazams."
"So she can use Psychic powers like a psychic pokemon? Just like the knights could in those memories you tell me about?" Serena asked.
"She can, and she's not very friendly of aura guardians. She's well aware of her heritage and its history with ours. Be careful when battling her, psychics play by their own rules." The guardian said.
"Huh that's kind of funny isn't it Ash. Altair battled against psychics, now you're about to have a battle with one." Lucy said.
Ash was very interested to battle against a real Psychic like the ones in Altair's memories. Still from the memory he saw of Garnier, he knew not all psychics of Altair's time were like the templars. Thousands of years later, he had to believe that Sabrina couldn't be bad just because she was a psychic.
After finishing breakfast Ash made his way to the guild's pokemon transfer machine and put a pokeball in.
"Who'd you switch out with?" Serena asked.
"Tauros for Haunter,he hasn't been in a gym battle for a while." Ash said.
The group made their way through the city and closer to the gym.
Finally they reached a large gym with a few trees in front of the building.
"Here we are." Brock said.
"Now to get a Marsh badge!"
"Pika!"
As the group walked inside and saw it was very dark. There were a few lights in small glass rooms on the sides of the gym interior where they saw several people wearing doctor like coats and masks with psychic type pokemon.
Many of them were looking at spoons or other objects intensely.
"What are they doing?" Serena asked.
Ash wondered if they could possibly be.
"So, another challenger comes." Another voice said.
The group turned and saw a man with long brown hair and green eyes with a doctor coat and mask on holding a spoon, standing in front of then.
"I am here to challenge the gym leader." Ash said holding his arm up.
"Well don't think we know what you and your friend are. We've been trained to recognize your kind, I just want you to know our kind is not extinct as you thought we were." He said.
"What?" Lucy asked.
"Allow me to show you my power." He said as he held the spoon up and stared at it intensely. He did this for almost a minute before the spoon bend in the slightest way.
"Ha tremble at my psychic abilities!" He shouted as he held it in front of them. Ash and the others sweat dropped.
"Yeah, well I think we'll just head to the gym leader." Ash said.
"Be warned , Sabrina is the strongest of us. She will destroy you as our ancestors did thousands of years ago." He said before the 4 of them stared at him.
The psychic gave a frightened look before walking off.
"Alright…Uh let's go." Ash said as he sweat dropped.
They walked into a large battlefield and saw the other end was dark. As soon as they walked in it a single light lit up a chair, revealing a woman with a red jacket and long dark green hair.
She stared at Ash and the others before standing up and walking towards them.
"So have you come to finish what your other guardian dog started, aura users." Sabrina said.
"What?" Ash asked.
"I won't be taken so easily like I was last time." Sabrina said as her eyes glowed blue and she tried to contain the group with her Psychic powers.
However, having seen Altair do it so many times, Ash was easily able to use his aura to force Sabrina's psychic energy away from them.
Sabrina stepped back upon seeing this.
"Listen, we're not here to come after you. I just want a gym battle." Ash said.
"Don't listen to them Sabrina." Another voice said.
Ash and the others saw an older man wearing a cloak that covered his entire body except his head, come out from the darkness. He had greying hair in a beard plus grey eyes.
"Don't forget what these people did to our ancestors the knights templars. Not to mention the guardian who raided this gym and kidnapped you." The man said.
"I won't father." She said.
"Wait, did the guardian wear black and red?" Ash asked.
"Yes, your brother was wearing those colors when he came with the rocket dogs." Sabrina said.
"That's Seir, he's a traitor to the brotherhood. We've disowned him and are hunting him down. We're sorry if he hurt you." Ash said.
"Nonetheless your ancestors destroyed the knight's templars. An force of peace and prosperity that saved the realm from savage genocidal men." Sabrina's father said.
"It was the guardians who stopped the Tulls, the templars just swooped in at the end and tried to control the minds of the people and make them slaves. " Lucy said.
"Bah, I don't want to hear any more lies from you guardians." The man said.
"I came here for a gym battle. Are you going to give me one?" Ash asked.
"Pika!".
"I will battle you. As a gym leader I an required to accept any challenger. Besides that, I will enjoy avenging my ancestors." Sabrina said.
Serena and Brock sweat dropped.
"I think she needs to get over that stuff" Serena said.
"Show that Psychic what we're made of!" Lucy shouted.
"She's not the only one." Brock said as he and Serena sweat dropped again.
Ash stood on one end of the battle while Sabrina stood on the other.
Sabrina's father stood on the side of the battlefield with 2 flags being held up by his psychic powers.
"The battle between Knight Sabrina and the murderous guardian Ash is about to begin. This will be a two on two battle, whoever knocks out both their opponent's pokemon wins. Only the wretched aura user can change out his pokemon like a coward." Sabrina's father said.
Ash didn't let the psychic get on his nerves. He smiled and took out a pokeball.
"I'm here to win a badge. My pokemon and I are going to, I choose you Haunter!" Ash shouted as his Haunter came out and gave a terrifying evil expression at Sabrina.
"A ghost type. Only an aura user could use such a pokemon." Sabrina said as she used her psychic powers to lift up a pokeball and let out the pokemon inside.
A Kadabra came out and stared down Haunter.
"A ghost and Psychic type, well they're both weak against each other so this should be interesting." Brock said.
"Go Haunter beat him!" Serena shouted.
"Haunter use Shadow ball!" Ash shouted.
"Haunt er!" Haunter roared as he formed a ball of Ghost energy and unleashed it at Kadabra.
"Psycho cut." Sabrina said as her Kadabra's eyes glowed blue and he swung his spoon forward unleashing 3 streaks of psychic energy that tore through the ghost energy.
"Shadow claw!" Ash shouted.
Haunter's claws glowed shadowy dark before he slashed through the incoming streaks of psychic energy before he continued at Kadabra.
"Teleport." Sabrina said.
Just before Haunter could slash Kadabra, the psychic type vanished and reappeared behind him.
"Psychic!" Sabrina shouted as her Kadabra's eyes glowed blue and he hit Ghost in the back with Psychic energy, doing a lot of damage.
"Haunt." Haunter grunted.
"Haunter use Shadow ball!" Ash shouted.
Sabrina knew Kadabra was too close to use teleport.
"Use Psychic to stop it!" Sabrina shouted.
Kadabra's eyes glowed blue as he used his psychic energy to catch the ghostly energy.
"Shadow claw!" Ash shouted.
Haunter rushed forward and slashed the contained shadow ball causing it to burst and knock Kadabra off balance.
Haunter took advantage of this and slashed across Kadabra's face.
"Great job Haunter!" Ash shouted.
"Pika!"
Kadabra stumbled backwards from the super effective attack.
"Shadow ball!" Ash shouted.
"Teleport." Sabrina said seeing as Kadabra was far enough away now. Kadabra vanished just before the shadow ball reached him.
"Haunter get ready to use another Shadow ball." Ash said as Haunter.
Haunter formed a ball of ghost energy in his mouth as he prepared to launch it.
As soon as Kadabra reappeared, Haunter launched the shadow ball. Kadabra vanished once again before the shadow ball could hit him.
Kadabra kept teleporting around avoiding each of Haunter's strikes until he was completely behind him.
"Psychic!" Sabrina shouted as Kadabra hit Haunter again before using teleport.
"Dam it, that teleport is working too well." Ash said.
"If she keeps using teleport , none of Haunter's attacks will hit their mark. Sabrina won't make the mistake of having her Kadabra get too close again." Lucy said.
"Come on Ash you can figure this out!" Serena shouted.
"It's like her Kadabra can be everywhere, wait everywhere that's it! Haunter use Dark pulse!" Ash shouted.
Haunter grinned as his eyes glowed black and he unleashed a wave of dark energy around him.
Kadabra reappeared just as this happened and was hit with the full force of the super effective attack.
"Kadabra!" Sabrina shouted as her pokemon landed on the ground with swirly eyes.
"Kadabra has fallen valiantly like the knight he is." Sabrina's father said.
"Alright great job Haunter." Ash said.
"Pika!".
"Haunt!"
"Kadabra return, alright play time is over. Go Gallade!" Sabrina shouted.
A large Gallade came out and held his blade like arms out.
"Will your Haunter continue the fight or retreat to the shadows like your kind always does?" Sabrina asked.
"Haunter do you want to keep battling?" Ash asked.
"Haunt!" Haunter shouted grinning.
"Shadow ball!" Ash shouted.
"Gallade use Psycho cut!" Gallade moved incredibly fast and sliced through the Shadow ball then continued on and sliced Haunter.
Being hit by a third psychic attack, Haunter was knocked out and landed on the ground with swirly eyes.
"Ha the aura user's pokemon is defeated!" Sabrina's father shouted.
"Haunter return, you did amazing out there. Alright just one more pokemon, I choose you Wartortle!" Ash shouted as the water turtle pokemon came out.
"Tortle!" Wartortle shouted.
"Alright go Wartortle!" Serena shouted.
"That pokemon can't hurt my Gallade, use psycho cut!" Sabrina shouted.
Gallade's arms glowed violet as he swiftly moved forward and tried to slice Wartortle.
"Wartortle Withdraw!" Ash shouted.
Wartortle quickly got into his shell before it was sliced by Psycho cut and knocked back.
"Use Rapid spin!" Ash shouted. Wartortle stayed in his shell and hurled himself forward at Gallade.
"Confusion!" Sabrina shouted.
Gallade's eyes glowed blue as he used psychic energy to catch Wartortle in mid air.
"Hydro pump!" Ash shouted.
Wartortle came out of his shell and unleashed a colossal jet of water right into Gallade's head, hurling him back. Because Gallade was focusing his psychic energy on holding Wartortle in place he wasn't able to hold back the water attack.
"Hmp, Gallade use Double team." Sabrina said as Gallade made a dozen copies of himself and surrounded Wartortle.
"Now use Leer." Sabrina said as all the Gallades unleashed leer and lowered Wartortle's defenses.
"Water pulse around you." Ash said.
Wartortle unleashed a pulse of water around him that went at all of the Gallade copies.
"Psycho cut." Sabrina said.
The real Gallade leapt up and over the water and slashed Wartortle across his body, knocking him back.
"Wartortle are you ok?" Ash asked.
"Pika chu?!"
"Geez that's one fast Gallade." Brock said.
"Don't give up Wartortle!" Ash shouted.
Wartortle got right back up and gave a confident expression.
"Wartortle use Aqua tail!" Ash shouted.
"Gallade use Psycho cut!".
Gallade made several swift movements at Wartortle only to have his arms blocked by Wartortle's tail. The two sparred for a minute or so before Gallade finally got his arm across Wartortle's body.
"Excellent!" Sabrina shouted as Gallade slashed him again and hurled him onto the ground.
"Oh no." Serena said.
Ash , however, saw an opportunity.
"Wartortle Aqua tail and swipe!" Ash shouted. Just as Wartortle hit the ground his spun his tail around and knocked Gallade off his feet.
"Now so fast, confusion." Sabrina said.
Despite being knocked on the ground, Gallade was able to aim his head at Wartortle and hurl him back and across the battlefield with confusion.
"Wartortle brace yourself!" Ash shouted. He knew Warortle couldn't go back in his shell with Gallade forcing him in place.
"Now finish the job with Psycho cut!" Sabrina shouted as Gallade swiftly moved through the field with his arms raised.
"Wartortle grab his arms!" Ash shouted.
Wartortle grabbed a hold of Gallade's arms and held them in place as best he could. But Ash and the others saw Gallade slowly moving his arms closer.
"Come on Wartortle hold on!" Serena shouted.
"Pika!" Pikachu shouted.
"Don't give up Warortle!" Ash shouted.
"Finish him Gallade." Sabrina shouted.
Gallade kept pushing harder as Wartortle struggled to hold on. He didn't think he could hold him back. But he knew with all Ash had trained him to do, he had to try.
"War tortle!" He shouted as he began to glow and grow larger.
"What?" Sabrina asked.
"Well how about that?" Lucy said smiling.
"He's evolving!" Serena shouted.
Ash and Pikachu watched in amazement as Wartortle finished his evolution and revealed himself as a Blastoise.
"Blastoise!" He roared, now bigger than Gallade and easily held his arms back.
Gallade now gave a nervous look as Blastoise easily moved his arms away from his body and aimed his 2 cannons right at him.
"Hydro pump!" Ash shouted.
"Blast oise!" Blastoise roared as he unleashed his biggest Hydro pump yet at point blank range.
Gallade was carried away by the water and crashed into the ground in front of Sabrina who now had a terrified expression.
When the water cleared Gallade was on the ground with swirly eyes.
Sabrina's father sighed.
"The honorable Gallade is unable to continue the fight. I have no choice but to declare the aura user , the winner." Sabrina's father said.
"Alright we won! We won gym seven!" Ash shouted with his first raised.
"Pikachu!"
"Blast!" Ash rushed out and hugged Blastoise as the massive turtle lifted his trainer up.
"Way to go Ash!" Serena shouted.
"That's seven gyms down." Brock said.
"Not one loss." Lucy said.
Sabrina returned her Gallade and glared at Ash.
"You're pokemon evolved during the battle, that is not the way you should win." Sabrina said.
"Alright I've had enough of this!" Serena shouted as she came over to the two Psychics.
"I know you're upset because you think the aura guardians did something to you. But they didn't this stuff happened over 10,000 years ago! You need to get over yourselves!" Serena shouted.
"Really? What would my ancestor say if he knew I made peace with the descendent of one who took part in the destruction of the knight's templars!" Sabrina's father shouted.
"My ancestor wasn't just one, he was Altair, the one who killed Robert de Sable!" Ash shouted proudly.
Sabrina and her father gave terrified looks.
"No! I knew there was something different about this one!" Sabrina's father shouted.
"I failed all psychics!" Sabrina shouted out as she fell to her knees.
"Did you listen to a word I said?" Serena said sounding irritated.
"I will stand proud for what I am!" Sabrina's father shouted as he ripped off his cloak revealing a set of ancient knight's armor underneath it.
Ash and the others sweat dropped upon seeing it.
"Is that knights templar's armor?" Brock asked.
"It is indeed, this was passed down from my family for thousands of years." Sabrina's father said.
Ash looked at the armor and remembered something from the previous night.
He smiled and started laughing.
The others turned to him.
"What is so funny aura user!?" Sabrina shouted.
"That's knight the armor of a knights templar, that's the armor of a Knights Hospitalier." Ash said recognizing it from the one Garnier wore in Altair's memory.
"What? No , you lie!?" Sabrina's father shouted.
"The Knight's Hospitalier broke off from the templars and worked with our people to stop the templars. Which means your ancestors were friends with ours." Ash said still laughing.
Sabrina and her father had crestfallen expressions.
Sabrina's father then gave a serious expression with his eyes closed.
"If what you say is true, then our entire beliefs are wrong. I will do some more thorough research on the manner of our families history as well as the families of the other psychics here. If you speak the truth , then perhaps we could end this feud." He said.
Ash and the others sweat dropped.
Sabrina came over with a small badge. It looked like two concentric golden circles put together.
"A Marsh badge, you beat me, and the rules state you've earned this." Sabrina said.
"Alright, seven badges down and one to go." Ash said.
Later that day the group was at the pokemon center waiting for Nurse Joy to come back with Ash's pokemon.
As Ash waited Serena was watching the TV with the Showcase master of Ceremonies on.
"Attention performers all across Kanto. For those who have earned our special key , listen carefully. The final showcase which will determine which performer shall hold the title Kanto king or queen will be happening this week!"
"This week!" Serena said slightly nervous.
"The location of the grand finals will be in lovely Tarvel city! So hurry here to get a chance to compete!" He shouted.
"So that's where it is, Tarvel city." Serena said. That is when she looked over at Ash and stared at him for almost a minute.
Seeing him in such a good mood today , acting like his normal self again kept reminding her of why she loved him so much. She took a deep breath before she went to go find Lucy.
When Ash got his pokemon back the group met up.
"So Serena do you know where you're final showcase is?" Ash asked.
"Yes it's in Tarvel city." Serena said.
"That's close to Saffron, like I said it's where my mom is from. We could get there in less than 2 days if we leave now." Lucy said.
"Plus there's a gym there." Brock said.
"You can compete in your final showcase and I can get my last gym badge." Ash said.
"Pika!".
"Yes. But you'll have to be careful Ash. I've heard stories about the gym leader in Tarvel city. He's suppose to be the strongest gym leader in Kanto. He's also suppose to be one of the strongest in the world." Lucy said.
"Yeah I hear he was suppose to replace Agatha when she retires , but turned it down because he loves being a gym leader." Brock said.
"Awesome, the ultimate test before the pokemon league." Ash said.
"Pika!"
"Alright, we should get going then." Lucy said as they made their way out of the city.
Serena stopped Ash.
"Ash hold on." Serena said as she took his hand.
"What's going on?" Ash asked.
"Ash I thought about what you said this morning and you're right. Things in our life are going great, and I'm in love with you." Serena said.
"I love you too." Ash said.
"The thing is, when I found out both your gym battle and my showcase is there I was thinking we could do something else there." Serena said.
"What?" Ash asked.
"Get married." Serena said blushing.
"Pika?"
Ash's face turned red.
"What? But we haven't decided on a date yet." Ash started before Serena wrapped her arms around him.
"I know I wanted a big planned out wedding, but I'm tired of waiting for this. I want us to be married now. I talked with Lucy, she said she knew a good chapel. We can call in our families and do it in Tarvel city." Serena said.
"If you're ready , then I'm ready." Ash said before the two brought their heads in and kissed.
Author's note:
7 badges down one to go, as I put it in the end I certainly won't make the last gym easy for Ash. Plus the gym leader is one you've never seen in the anime before , but you have seen them in this story.
Ash's final gym battle, Serena's final showcase, and the wedding, a lot will happen in Tarvel city.
That being said for the final showcase I will accept fan submitted characters by you guys via PM only. They must be performers though,and I will only end up putting 2 in the story.
However, just like the last story, I will accept more fan submitted characters for trainers in the pokemon league that Ash will face. However, be warned, if I put your OC for the final showcase I likely won't pick them for the pokemon league.
Seeing as the pokemon league is bigger I will accept more fan submitted characters than the final showcase. Also if it is a character from the Kalos league in the last story, they won't be accepted as I want new characters
