Ch 50: The future
It was early in the morning in Tarvel city and Ash was up with Charizard. Both had been up and training since 4 in the morning.
Ash had done aura guardian exercises while Charizard did pokemon guardian exercises.
Both were so sweaty that it looked like they had been swimming. Pikachu and Ash's other pokemon had also joined them, but weren't quite as exhausted as those two.
Ash took his shirt from the ground and tried to wipe the sweat out of his eyes and face.
"Well, we've done all we could these last 9 days since we faced Paul ,Charizard. I think we're ready to face him again." Ash said.
"Grauu!" Charizard roared in agreement.
That was when Ash and his pokemon heard and felt their stomachs growling.
"I guess we should get some breakfast." Ash said sweat dropping as his pokemon did the same.
Ash was about to head in when he felt a familiar presence.
"Is that really the best you can do little bro." Ash and his pokemon turned to see Red and his Charizard standing beside a tree.
"Red." Ash said before the two brothers hugged each other.
When Red withdrew he saw and felt Ash's sweat all over his shirt.
"Oh, sorry." Ash said sweat dropping.
"It's alright, not that big a deal. What is a big deal is you moving your wedding up." Red said.
"I'm ready Red, I want to be married now." Ash said.
"I can understand that. A part of me wants to propose to Korrina, but she's not like Serena. She'll probably have us get married the night I pop the question and have me put a baby in her the same night." Red said sweat dropping.
"Korrina always has been a passionate person." Ash said.
"I love that about her though." Red said.
"So where is Korrina, plus mom and dad?" Ash asked.
"Mom and Korrina went inside to see Serena. I told them they shouldn't disturb your training. Dad went to go see Paul." Red said.
"Has their been any sign of Kal?" Ash asked.
"None so far, that's what worries me. He has a medallion of Reduka, and the skills of a guardian master, plus we don't know what he plans to do next. That's a dangerous combination." Red said.
"At least he doesn't have team rocket behind him now." Ash said.
"That's true, but he also doesn't have them holding him back anymore either." Red said.
"I guess you have a point." Ash said.
"I hear the grand mentor himself declared that every guardian in the world needs to be on the look out for him." Red said.
"I pray to Reduka we can find him. Red, do you think Kal could ever be helped. Maybe convinced to abandon his ways." Ash said.
Red sighed.
"I don't know. Arzorka did, but it took him 3000 years. Regardless of what happened to Kal, he has still committed crimes against the people and pokemon of Kanto. He must be served justice regardless." Red said.
Ash wanted to feel bad for Kal, but he couldn't deny that he had done terrible things under team rocket, even if he never truly served them. He couldn't just get away with it.
"But let's think more positive. My little brother is getting married. I have a bachelor party to plan." Red said.
"Nothing too crazy red." Ash said before his brother put his arm around his shoulders.
"I know you little bro, I won't disappoint." Red said as Ash sweat dropped.
Elsewhere in the Tarvel city gym Paul and Felix were sitting in a chamber.
"So he lost to you." Felix asked.
"Aye, I used Salamence." Paul said.
"What? You didn't even give him a chance, he's only lost to three pokemon in his entire life." Felix said.
"One of those being yer Lucario. Besides even after his Charizard lost, yer son wanted to go against Salamence again" Paul said.
Felix sighed.
"Oh Ash."
"He reminds me of another young guardian at that age." Paul said.
Felix gave a somewhat depressed look.
"He's nothing like me at that age. I was a horrible guardian." Felix said.
"Felix, you need to let go of the Seafoam island incident." Paul said.
"It's not just that, what happened to Kal was because of me. He made that very clear back in Saffron city." Felix said.
"Kal made his own choices, it's not like you forced him to join team rocket. Nor did you pull the trigger." Paul said.
"He made his own choices, tell me Paul. What would you have done if a man like Giovanni killed Salamance in cold blood right in front of you?". Felix asked.
Paul looked over at his Salamence who was beside Felix's Lucario.
"I know why he hates me, and I don't blame him. It's not just that either, it's my father." Felix said.
"Arthur." Paul said.
"After the incident at Seafoam he never looked more disappointed in me. Then the incident at the mine and we thought Kal was dead. He was even madder with me then. But when I abandoned my children and then gave up my chance to be Kanto Mentor. My father had enough, he disowned me, called my a failure to my bloodline." Felix said before he put his hands on his head.
"I've done so many bad thins, I've misused my abilities on people. I turned my blood brother into a monster. I abandoned my family, and made my own father give up on me. He hasn't spoken to me in years." Felix said.
"Felix." Paul said as he put his hand on his old friend's shoulder.
"You think yer the only guardian to do bad things before redemption. How about that bloodline yer father is so proud of. Vaeron the great, got his entire brotherhood decimated. But then he redeemed himself, rebuild the Kalos brotherhood and took down the mad king. He then returned to Kanto and made it the strongest brotherhood in the world. If i'm not mistaken, his blood runs in your veins and his aura is yours. Besides, you've done a lot to redeem yourself. You've become a father to yer boys, you've helped thousands of people and pokemon as a guardian. " Paul said.
"I've done what I can to redeem myself. But I won't stop until I find Kal, and make things right." Felix said.
Elsewhere back at Lucy's house, Serena was in the guest room with Lucy, Delia, Grace , and Korrina.
"Alright so this is what the bridesmaids will be wearing." Serena said showing them one of the dresses.
"What about your dress? We still have to pick that out." Grace said.
Serena and Lucy sweat dropped.
"Actually Ma'ma, before you got here Lucy and I picked it out." Serena said.
"What!?" Delia and Grace almost shouted.
Korrina on the other hand gave a relief breath. Being the maid of honor she feared having to spend all day looking at wedding dresses.
"No, no, no. I've waited my whole life to go look at wedding dresses with my daughter for her wedding." Grace said.
"I never had a daughter. I only got to look at wedding dresses once." Delia said.
"So we're looking at more?" Lucy asked.
"Yes." Grace said.
Serena already picked out her dress, but she liked the idea of doing it with her mom and her soon to be mother in law.
"Alright, picking the first one out was so much fun the first time. Plus I'll never get this chance again unless we renew our vows." Serena said as her face turned red.
Korrina gave a nervous expression as she sweat dropped.
"Come on Korrina, the maid of honor has to be there." Lucy said.
Later that day, they were at a bridal shop as Serena tried on different dresses.
"How about this one?" Serena asked.
"It looks like it was meant for an older woman." Lucy said.
"I agree." Grace said.
As Grace, Lucy, and Delia went to look for more, Serena noticed Korrina sitting in a chair with a less than interested look.
Serena sat down beside her.
"Thanks for coming Korrina, I know this isn't your favorite thing to do." Serena said.
"We've been friends for years Serena, I can sacrifice a little happiness for you." Korrina said.
"So it's got to be close to the time you and Red are scheduled for the proposal." Serena said.
Korrina's face turned red.
"It is." She said.
"You do realize you're going to have to go through all of this though." Serena said.
"No, when Red pops the question, we're going to be married that same day and hopefully I'll be pregnant by the end of the night." Korrina said with her face still red.
Serena sweat dropped.
Twenty minutes later she came out wearing another dress.
"I like this one." Serena said.
"So do I." Lucy said.
"I like it too." Delia said.
Korrina took a slight interest in the dress.
"H'mm that one does look nice." Korrina said.
"I don't know, it seems a little flashy." Grace said.
"If ma'ma says that then it's the right dress " Serena said as Grace sweat dropped.
After the group met back at Lucy's house, they made their way to the gym.
Inside they saw several guardians in black and white robes waiting for them.
"Master O Brien is expecting you." One said.
He lead them to the battlefield where Paul and Felix were waiting with their pokemon out.
"Dad." Ash said.
"We've been waiting for you." Felix said.
"Aye, Salamence and I have been looking forward for another challenge." Paul said.
Ash gave a confident smile.
"Charizard and I are ready this time." He said as he let Charizard out.
"Grauu!" Charizard roared as he saw Salamence and Paul.
"Good , let's get started then." Paul said before he went to one end of the battlefield and Ash to the other.
"The battle between Masters O Brien and Salamence against guardian Ketchum and guardian Charizard is about to begin." A young guardian said.
Serena let Charla out of her pokeball so she could see the battle.
Ash and Paul stared at each other intensely.
"Here we go boy." Paul said.
"Here we go." Ash said.
Ash and Paul touched their Mega evolution stones as Charizard and Salamence both Mega evolved.
"Grauu!" Mega Charizard Y roared.
"Grooo!" Mega Salamence roared.
"Alright then, Salamence use Dragon breath." Paul said as Mega Salamence opened his mouth and unleashed a thick fog of dragon energy around the battlefield.
Ash and Charizard Y noticed that Mega Salamence had intentionally made it hollow in the center and thick on the outside around as much of the battlefield as possible.
"Dragon claw." Paul said as Mega Salamence roared and flew in the center right at Charizard Y.
Ash knew from his last match he wouldn't be able to overpower Mega Salamence. He would have to use mostly strategy to beat his opponent.
"Charizard get close then go under him and use Dragon Pulse!" Ash shouted.
Charizard Y flew right at Mega Salamence as the blue dragon's feet claw's glowed violet. Just before Mega Salamence could slash him, Charizard Y re-angled his wings and flew swiftly under Mega Salamence.
"Knock him out!" Paul said.
Mega Salamence did a barrel roll , swinging his wings hard. Unknown to Paul, Ash was ready.
"Now!" Ash shouted.
Charizard Y did another backflip and narrowly avoided the wrings above him and dragon breath below him.
Charizard Y came back up right in front of Mega Salamence and opened his mouth before blasting him with Dragon pulse.
"Grauuu!" Charizard Y roared as he blasted Mega Salamence head on.
Mega Salamence grunted as he was hit and forced into the ground.
"That's it Ash!" Red shouted.
"He's learning. Salamence use Fly."
Mega Salamence flew up quickly right at Charizard Y, who narrowly avoided the strike.
"Dragon claw." Paul said as Mega Salamence made an extremely sharp turn right in front of Charizard Y and slashed him across the face before he had time to move.
"Charizard!" Serena shouted as Charla cried out as well.
Despite taking the powerful hit, Charizard Y was able to catch himself with his wings and stay off the ground.
"Grauu." He growled staring at Mega Salamence.
"Charizard use Air Slash!" Ash shouted.
Charizard Y flew right at Mega Salamence even faster than he had the last time they battled.
"Salamence use Dragon breath." Mega Salamence opened his Mouth and unleashed a thick mist of Dragon energy at Charizard Y.
"Charizard use your wings to force the Dragon breath away!" Ash shouted. Charizard Y stopped before unleashing a burst of wind into the dragon breath with his wings and forced it back into Mega Salamence.
"Air Slash!" . Charizard Y flew right at Mega Salamence as he moved away from the dragon energy.
"Crunch." Paul said as Mega Salamence came right through the dragon breath and snatched Charizard Y by the neck.
"Grauu!" Charla shouted as she saw this.
Mega Salamence shook Charizard Y despite his immense size.
"Dragon Pulse!" Ash shouted as Charizard Y blasted Mega Salamence's head with Dragon energy, forcing the blue dragon to let him go.
"Air slash!" Ash shouted as Charizard Y flew under Mega Salamence and slashed him across his stomach.
"Dragon claw." Paul said. As Charizard Y flew over top Mega Salamence, the blue dragon flipped himself around and slashed Charizard Y across the chest, hurling Charizard Y back.
"Yer doin well Ash, but ya shouldn't have faced Mega Salamence again." Paul said.
"Don't let him put thoughts in your head Ash." Felix said.
"Alright then, Salamence use Fly."
Mega Salamence flew up incredibly high.
"Charizard stay close to him!"
"Pika!".
Charizard Y flew after Mega Salamence as quick as he could. Ash hoped that if Charizard could stay close to Mega Salamence, even if he could land fly , it would do minimal damage from lack of momentum.
That was when Ash saw through Charizard Y, Mega Salamence was about to turn.
"Flamethrower on his wings!" Ash shouted.
"Grauu!" Charizard Y roared as he blasted Mega Salamence's wings, making him loose balance and miss Charizard as he tried to hit him with fly.
"Dragon claw!" Paul shouted.
Mega Salamence may have missed with fly, but he was still close enough to slash Charizard Y across the chest with Dragon claw.
"Charizard!" Ash shouted as he saw Charizard Y get hurled back.
"Fly." Paul said as Mega Salamence flew right into Charizard Y.
"This isn't good." Brock said.
"No, he can do this." Serena said.
"Grauu!" Charla roared.
Despite the pain from taking so many powerful attacks, Charizard Y wrapped his arms around Mega Salamence.
"Charizard use Seismic toss!" Ash shouted.
"Grauu!" Charizard Y roared as he and Mega Salamence Salamence struggled to overpower the other.
"Come on Charizard!" Red shouted.
"You can do it!" Serena shouted.
"Show him how strong you are!" Ash shouted.
"Pika!" Pikachu shouted.
Charizard Y roared as he gave everything he had and finally forced Mega Salamence back. He then locked him in his arms and flew up to the ceiling before doing 3 circles and flying back down as fast as he could as Mega Salamence struggled to break free.
Charizard Y snarled as he hurled Mega Salamence into the ground before re-angled his wings at the last moment and flew back up into the air.
"Dragon Pulse!" Ash shouted as he saw Mega Salamence try to get back up.
"Grauuu!" Charizard Y roared as he hit Mega Salamence with a massive beam of violet dragon energy.
"Groo!" Salamence groaned as the super effective attack hit his less protected stomach and forced him further into the ground.
Charizard Y kept the attack going as long as he could. But all the fatigue from the battle was starting to catch up to him. His attack stopped as he desperately tried to catch his breath.
Mega Salamence was heavily fatigued as well. Even more than last time he battled Charizard Y. Still he slowly began to get out of the hole on the ground.
Ash knew it was now or never, Charizard knew this as well.
Charizard roared as the flame on his tail exploded around him, covering in fire.
"Blast burn!" Ash shouted.
Charizard Y took a deep breath before opening his mouth and unleashing an ocean of fire.
"Grauuu!" He roared as loud as he could as the compressed fire flew down and hit Mega Salamence before exploding like a bomb. The force of the explosion nearly knocked everyone in the gym off their feet.
The bright light also made everyone cover their eyes.
When the light faded and the smoke cleared, the group looked over to see Mega Salamence unconscious with swirly eyes and Charizard Y flying above him looking like he was ready to pass out.
"Master Salamence is unable to battle. The winner is Guardian Charizard and Guardian Ketchum." The guardian overseeing the match said.
"We did it! We won!" Ash shouted.
"Pika!".
"Grauu!" Charizard Y roared before he landed on top of Ash and started licking his face.
"Grauu!" Charla roared with her face red.
"I knew he'd do it." Felix said.
Ash got up with Charizard as 2 of the guardians' Tyranitars helped Salamence up and Paul walked over to Ash and his pokemon.
"Alright you impressed me last time boy, now you've done something else. You've beaten me." Paul said as he reached into his jacket and took out a badge.
Ash saw the badge , fitting enough from an aura guardian gym, was a black spade.
"Our 8th badge, now we can enter the pokemon league." Ash said.
"Pika!".
"Grauu!".
"Next stop , the pokemon league." Red said.
"Then the elite four." Korrina said.
"No, our next stop is marriage." Serena said.
Later that night at Lucy's house, Serena and Ash were in bed. Pikachu, and Serena were already asleep. But Ash was too excited about wining his 8th badge.
As he stared at the black spade he remembered something else.
"That's right, I never finished Altair's memories." Ash said to himself as he carefully took out Altair's time flower.
He took a deep breath and tried to connect to Altair's aura.
However, for some reason Ash could not.
"Huh?" Ash said to himself as he tried again and again. But for some reason he could not.
"What's going on?" He asked himself.
It was late at night in an aura guardian grand enclave. A pair of guardians in black and white robes walked in the lowest levels of the enclave with a Tyranitar and Blastoise beside them.
Unlike the rest of the enclave they were in, the lowest levels were kept unaltered by new technology. The hallways were maintained to be just as they were during the age of the roman republic. The hallways were lit by torches and had several ancient aura guardian banners with the black spade symbol on them , hanging on the walls.
The 4 guardians walked to the door to a large chamber , where a large ancient lock was placed on it.
"It's getting pretty late. Perhaps we should wait till morning." One of the guardians said.
"It's not too late to pay our respects. Every guardian here should pay respect to them at least once per day." The other guardian said as his Tyranitar growled in agreement.
As they approached the door they heard something behind them and felt a hostile aura.
They turned before a gust of wind blew out all the torches and filled the room with darkness.
"Who's there!" One of the guardians shouted before they heard footsteps.
The 2 guardians saw a trio of glowing blue eyes approach them as they too used aura vision with their pokemon.
They saw 3 red auras in front of them. Two pokemon, and one man, but not just a man. A man powerful with aura. It was then they realized what was going on.
"It's the traitor!" One shouted as their drew their hidden blades and mega evolved their pokemon.
At the same time Seir mega evolved his own pokemon as the 2 human guardians rushed at him. Seir unleashed a pulse of aura that hurled them both back as his Mega Garchomp and Mega Primal Aerodactyl flew forward and into the Mega Blastoise and Tryanitar before clashing with them.
When the 2 guardians got up they saw Seir run then leap off the wall before acrobatically jumping at them.
They quickly brought their hidden blades up and blocked Seirs before beginning a fierce melee with the traitor guardian. The darkness would normally make fighting difficult, but they could see Seir perfectly through his aura.
Both tried to unleashed a pulse of aura to knock him back, but Seir used his aura as a shield to absorb theirs. One guardian tried to leap off the wall and backflip behind Seir.
Seir , however, was faster. Before the second guardian could land he smashed his foot into the man's chest, hurling him into the wall before catching the first guardian's arm as he tried to slash him with his hidden blade.
He smashed his offhand across the first guardian's face while bringing his hidden blade across the guardian's face.
The man dropped to the ground with blood coming from his face as his Mega Blastoise shouted out in terror as he saw his partner get slashed.
This distracted the Blastoise long enough for the Mega Aerodactyl to slash across his face with Arial ace and knocked him out.
The second guardian saw what happened.
"Ryan!" He shouted before he furiously assaulted Seir, only to have the dark guardian move fasted and block each of his strikes before locking him in an arm bar and trapping his foot. Seir then slammed the second guardian's head into the wall as his Mega Tyranitar was knocked out by Mega Garchomp's Dragon rush as he was plowed into the wall.
The second guardian was barley conscience as he saw his close friend bleeding out. With everything he had left he raised his hand over the first guardian's face and took a deep breath as his eyes and hand glowed blue.
Seir simply stood and watched as the guardian tried to heal his friend. But the blow to his head finally took him as he passed out before he could finish.
Seir knelt down beside the still dying guardian before taking a deep breath and placing his hand over his face. Seir's eyes glowed blue as well as his hand. The cut mark across the guardian's face slowly healed as the bleeding stopped and the man's life was saved. He would carry the scar for the rest of his life, but beside that he would make a full recovery.
Seir stood up as his two pokemon watched him. Seir walked past them before they followed him to the door. Once he reached the door he took out his right hidden blade and put it into a part of the lock that was meant for a hidden blade.
He then took a deep breath before his hand glowed blue and he as able to move the lock to the side and slowly open the door.
He walked into a massive chamber that was lit by glowing gemstones filled with aura. In the center of the room on top of a set of stairs was the solid platinum statue of an ancient aura guardian in his robes with his hidden blades held out. Beside that statue was the platinum statue of an ancient mega evolved Lucario.
Both these statues had aura stones embedded in the statues' eyes, making it seem like they were glowing from aura vision.
In front of the 2 statues was a large grave. Seir and his pokemon approached the grave before looking up at the statues.
He then went to the tomb and placed his hand on the center before using his aura on it. The grave had not been opened since the guardian had been laid to rest there. As the grave slowly opened Seir's eyes widened as he saw a pair of guardians laying beside each other.
One was the skeleton remains of an ancient lucario put in an aura guardian robe and a piece of Lucarionite on the collar of the robe.
Beside the lucario bones were the bones of what looked like a human, except it was different. Spikes on the arms and along the spine. This skeleton too was wearing a guardian robe and had a pair of ancient hidden blades in his forearms.
Seir then saw it. In the skeleton's hands was a small ball made of solid gold with ancient symbols engraved into it.
Seir could feel he power coming from the artifact. He knelt down and placed his hand over the skull before closing his eyes.
"Rest in peace grand mentor. If we met while you were still in this world, you would likely see me as your descendants do. But you saved the world from the evils of humanity once." Seir started before he carefully removed the golden sphere from his hands.
"Now I must do so." Seir said as he connected his aura to the artifact and the symbols on it began to glow white. Moment's later Seir's eyes began to glow white as well.
"Ahhaaa!… At last, I can see." He said.

So Ash finally has all 8 badges, I'm not even going to hide it, next chapter will be the wedding.
Some people have asked if I will be doing lemons.. Look I already explained that I do not do lemons, it's not my style.
That being said, this story is rated M for a reason, It's not like I won't show anything happening. If you want an idea of what might happen read my star wars the old republic story, there were some love scenes in that story that I will follow similarly.
Now on another note, seeing as I have finally finished watching all 5 seasons of Game of Thrones I thought I might try to create a fanfiction of that to see how I'd like it. I have written a few chapters whenever I am finished writing a chapter of this story, but won't post any until this story is over, and will likely be a thing I do on the side of the third arc of this storyarc
The reason I'm telling you this is because my usual Beta reader hasn't watched GOT and I was wondering if any of you who have watched the show or read the books would be interested in beta reading what I've made so far.
