Tris pov
Tobias lays on the hospital bed, sleeping peacefully. They said he has to stay here for two weeks. That shot was really bad. I've never seen him so weak before. I press a kiss to his forehead and then settle into the chair next to the bed. It's not very comfortable, but it'll do. I'm not going to leave him so that I can sleep in a comfortable bed.
There's a knock on the door and a nurse pokes her head in. "Mrs Eaton, there's someone here to see you. They're waiting in the waiting room."
"Okay, thank you,"I say.
I get up from the chair and glance at Tobias. He is still asleep. I don't want to leave him, but I know he'll be fine. I step outside the room and walk to then waiting room. My parents are waiting there, they look worried.
"Beatrice!" My mom says as she gets up and wraps her arms around me. She's crying.
"It's okay, mom. Everything will be fine,"I say. I don't even know if I believe my own words. Good thing I'm not candor. I guess it works because she starts to calm down a little bit.
"Are you okay?" My father asks.
"I'm okay, but Tobias isn't... He took a bullet for me. He had surgery and now he's recovering."
"He took a bullet for you?" My mom says with wide eyes.
"Amelia shot at me and Tobias jumped in front to block me."I say, tears start to form in my eyes. My mom takes my hand and squeezes it reassuringly.
"There's some things that we need to discuss with both of you," my father says.
I nod and say,"let me go see if he's awake, if not do you think we can talk later?"
"Yes, but it has to be talked about today."
"Okay,"I say nodding.
I make my way down the hall back to the room. Tobias is still asleep. I walk to the bed and take his hand in mine. His eyes flutter open and he casts a weak smile at me. "Hey,"he says.
I smile as soon as I see his. His smile fills me with reassurance and hope. He moves our clasped hands to his mouth and kisses the back of mine. I feel a kick, so I move his hand to my stomach where our baby boy is kicking.
"Hi, baby boy,"Tobias says when he kicks his hand.
"How are you feeling?" I ask.
"I feel weak."
"Are you okay enough to talk to my parents? There's something important that they need to discuss with us today." I say.
"Yeah, can you help me sit up?" He asks.
I help slowly position him up to a sitting position. He groans in pain and it beaks my heart. I go to get my parents and lead them to the room. My mom takes his hand and says,"thank you for saving her. You truly are a great husband, Tobias." I can see the worry in her eyes when she looks at him.
"I would never let anything happen to her,"he says.
"I'm glad she has you,"she whispers.
He smiles at my mother.
"So what's up?" I ask.
"Tomorrow, your brother is being tried at the trial." My dad says.
I nod slowly.
"This is so shocking,"my mom sighs,"she seemed so nice."
"I'm so worried for him,"my dad says,"this could ruin his life."
"Do you want to see him?" I ask them. "I can take you to him."
"Please,"my mom says.
"Okay,"I say. I kiss Tobias and say,"I'll be back soon."
"Okay. Can you help me lay down?" He asks.
"Of course,"I say and start to help him. My dad walks to the other side of the bed and helps me with him.
As we walk to the holding section in dauntless, my mom asks,"are you okay?"
"I told you I'm fine, Tobias took the bullet for me-"
"No, that's not what I mean. Are you okay? This is a lot of stress for you and the baby. How are you getting through this?"
"It has been stressful, but I have Tobias with me, and he always helps me get through hard times. And the baby, it's calmed me so much lately. We found out the gender yesterday. It's a boy,"I say.
"A boy! That's wonderful!"My mom says.
"Congratulations,"my dad says.
"Thank you."I say with a smile.
I open up the cell and follow them in. Caleb lays on the bed. Nikki, who was guarding the cell said that he hasn't been up for long, maybe an hour. That serum made him pass out.
I haven't seen him yet.
He looks pretty normal. His eyes are back to normal, except for the redness. He's been crying. "Caleb,"my mom says as she places her hand on his shoulder.
He looks on the verge of tears as he turns to my mom.
She looks at him sadly. "What do you remember?"
"I don't remember anything. I only know what I've been told,"he says,"and I am so sorry. Especially to you Beatrice."
I look at him sadly. I wish he would have listened to us in the first place. A lot could have been avoided.
He sighs and looks down,"I've messed up. Because of me so many bad things happened. How am I supposed to be a leader if I can do things right?"
"It's not your fault,"my father says,"you were just blinded and tricked."
"Tomorrow you'll have a trial and everything will be sorted out. She'll be revealed as the terrible person she is,"I say.
"The worst part is... I still love her."
"WHAT?!" My parents and I say at the same time.
