Ch 54: ORAS
It was morning in the Seafoam islands and the sunrise lit up the lagoon surrounding the ran forest island. Inside a condo, Ash and Serena were fast asleep.
As the sunlight filled the room, it hit Serena's eyelids and caused her to slowly awaken. Moments later the sunlight hit Ash's eyelids as well and caused him to wake up as well.
"Morning Ash." Serena said before she gave him a kiss.
"Morning Serena." Ash said.
"So what's the plan for today?" Serena asked as she put her head back on his chest.
"Well the Lagoon is always a fun time." Ash said.
In the other room most of the pokemon were already up. Pikachu looked over at Charizard and Charla as they nuzzled each other.
Charla had made it no secret to the others that her and Charizard had truly become 'mates'. Charizard confessed to PIkachu that he was almost afraid she'd start having eggs soon.
Seeing those two, and hearing about their 'actions' made Pikachu think about the time he spent with the female Pikachu he found in the rainforest.
He felt almost ashamed of what he did, allowing his desires to get the best of him like that. Still , he had never been with a female pikachu before. He didn't grow up around other pikachu's. But after he started training with Ash, he didn't think much about other Pikachu's. It wasn't until he saw her, then it changed. At least until he found out Ash was in a coma, after that he didn't think about her at all.
But now that Ash was better, he started to think about her again. He wanted to find that female Pikachu, not just any, but her.
A few minutes later Ash and Serena came into the room.
"Alright guys, we're going to the Lagoon again. Charizard, Charla, Aerodactyl, you can do your own thing as usual." Ash said.
"Grauu!" Charla growled happily as she licked the side of Charizard's face.
Pikachu's face turned slightly red.
"PIka." He said.
"Huh?" Ash said.
"Pika, Pikachu."
"What's going on?" Serena asked.
"Pikachu told me he wants to go off the rainforest, alone. Why buddy?" Ash asked.
"Pika, Pikachu." He said, before Ash smiled a little.
"Alright." Ash said.
"Pikachu!".
After Pikachu, Charizard, Charla , and Aerodactyl left, Ash and Serena changed into their bathing suits.
They went out through the opening in the condo floor with their water pokemon, while their other non water pokemon decided to get some more rest. Despite being on vacation, Ash didn't stop training his pokemon.
In the water Ash and Serena had taken some board with ropes on the end.
"Naw" Croconaw shouted happily as he jumped around and put on one of the harnesses attached to the end of the ropes.
As Vaporeon did the same, Croconaw swam forward incredibly fast, nearly making Ash fall off his board.
Once he had the harness on, Vaporeon followed Croconaw , pulling Serena on her board. Swimming in under the two boards was Blastoise.
As they got deeper, Blastoise shot up from under them and slammed back into the water creating a wave.
"Croc!" Croconaw shouted as he quickly swam up and into the wave , moving very fast and unevenly while Vaporeon was moving in a more precise manner.
Meanwhile Blastoise swam up and into the wave.
Ash noticed as Croconaw swam around, he had his eyes closed, not noticing he was heading right at Serena and Vaporeon.
"Croconaw!" Ash shouted.
Croconaw opened his eyes to see Serena and Vaporeon in front of him with freaked out expressions.
"Naw!" Croconaw shouted as he and Vaporeon both swam underwater without even thinking. Croconaw went down so fast that he snapped the tip of the board off. This shook Ash up, but his enhanced physical skills, allowed him to keep himself on the board.
Vaporeon on the other hand ended up dragging the entire board down and forcing Serena to fall forward and off the board as it was dragged down.
Luckily for Serena, Ash's board didn't stop moving and he was able to catch her.
However, when he did, this was finally enough to force him to the back of the board and the shift in weight made them both fall of the back of the board.
Just before they hit the water, Blastoise shot out of the wave and caught the two before smashing back into the water.
When he came back up , Serena and Ash were now in the water in front of him and the 3 turned to Vaporeon and Croconaw who both sweat dropped.
"Well that was fun." Ash said before he , Serena, and Blastoise started laughing.
After retrieving the boards, the group made their way to a shallower area where Ash and Serena could touch.
Swimming around them were many water pokemon like Magikarp, Tentacool, Goldeen, and even a few Squirtle.
"There's so many." Serena said smiling as a few brushed past her legs and she brushed across them with her hands.
Croconaw was swimming around trying to play with many of them, though scaring most off.
Ash used his aura to attract several of the pokemon around him. Serena and Vaporeon noticed a large number of water pokemon around him.
"So you're pretty popular with them." Serena said smiling as Ash lifted up a Squirtle.
"Squirtle." the squirtle said.
"Oise." Blastoise said as the others saw several squirtle swimming around him and 4 crawling on his shell.
"Not as popular as Blastoise." Ash said.
That is when the water began to vibrate.
"Huh?" Serena said before they look out at the drop off to the deeper section.
Moments later a massive Wailord burst out of the water and slammed hard into the water. A massive wave formed as a result and came right over the group as they all sweat dropped.
The wave crashed into them and knocked them all underwater.
As they came back up and coughed water out of their mouths they noticed a pair of trainers on the Wailord's back.
"Alright Wailord what was awesome!" One of them shouted before the other saw Ash, Serena, and their pokemon below.
"Uh Brendan, I think we might have disturbed some other people." The other trainer said as the first one looked down.
"OH no." He said sweat dropping.
The two came down from the Wailord in front of the group.
Both were young adults who looked about the same age as them.
The first was a young man with tan skin, short but slight spiky dark brown hair and grey eyes. The other was a young woman with lighter skin, silvery blue eyes and short light brown hair with two thick ends coming out of the front.
"Sorry about that, we couldn't see if anyone was in the shallows." The young man said.
"It's alright, if you're in the water you should expect to get wet." Ash said.
"I'm Brendan by the way. Brendan Yuki." The young man said.
"I'm May Yuki." The young woman said.
"We're newly weds on our honeymoon." Brendan said.
"Wow, that's funny, so are we. I'm Ash Ketchum."
"I'm Serena Ketchum."
Ash and Serena noticed May had a Hoenn accent while Brendan's seemed different.
"Are you guys from Hoenn?" Serena asked.
"We are, but I grew up in Jhoto until I was 15. Then I moved to Littleroot town in Hoenn and met May." Brendan said.
"Serena you sound Kalos." May said.
"I am, I grew up there but came to Kanto about a year ago." Serena said.
"Are these your pokemon?" Brendan asked.
"Blastoise and Croconaw are mine, Vaporeon is Serena's. The rest are just wild." Ash said before Brendan and May saw several Tentacool in the group of water pokemon.
"Ehh!" May said with a very frightened expression and a red face as she got behind Brendan.
"Is everything aright?" Serena asked.
"It's alright May." Brendan said to her before turning to the others.
"May's just a little afraid of Tentacool, she had a bad experience with Tentacool when she was a kid." Brendan said.
"I'm just lucky that Marine guy was there." May said.
"Wait a minute, Ash I think she's the girl Brock was walking about. The one who was surrounded by Tentacool and her mother thought she was one." Serena said.
That caught May's attention.
"Hey how do you know about that!?" May asked almost shouting.
"You know the man who swam out and saved you. He was our friend's dad and he told us that story." Ash said.
"Wow, what are the odds of that." Brendan asked.
That was when May noticed Ash's hidden blade bracers undersides.
"Hey what are those bracers?" May asked.
"Huh?" Ash said completely forgetting he put them back on. He put his forearms behind his back as he tried to look casual. 'Tried'.
"Are you alright?" Brendan asked as Serena gave a slighly nervous look too.
His and Serena's faces both turned red in embarrassment as May and Brendan gave slightly freaked out expressions.
"Ok, we'll just be going them." Serena said as she , Ash and the others rushed off.
"Ok, that was weird." Brendan said sweat dropping.
"They were pretty nice before that last comment. Speaking of which." May said before she kissed Brendan's cheek.
"Maybe we should head back too."
Elsewhere in the rainforest, Pikachu was searching hard for the female Pikachu he met a few days earlier.
He came across a few pikachu, and some other females, but he was only interested in the one he met earlier. Every time he met another Pikachu he asked them about her.
Only a few knew who he was even talking about, saying there were a lot of Pikachu in the rain forest.
Eventually he reached a pool of water filled by a waterfall and got a drink from it.
"Pika." He heard.
"Chu." He said as he looked up and saw the female Pikachu with a flower on her head on top of the ledge where the waterfall was.
"Pika!" He almost shouted before she winked at him and motioned for him to follow her before she went off.
Pikachu quickly scaled the side of the ridge before reaching the top and following after the female Pikachu.
Eventually he reached the top and chased after her before reaching a dense area of foliation and vegetation. Sitting there was the female Pikachu who turned to face him.
"Pika." she said.
Pikachu reached her and stopped.
"Pika Pikachu." She said saying she was wondering if she'd see him again.
"Pika." Pikachu said saying he wanted to see her again.
"Pika." The female Pikachu said as she nuzzled the side of his face and Pikachu's face turned red.
Later that day, Ash and Serena were with Charizard, Charla and Aerodactyl as they returned to the condo.
"Welcome back guys, did you have a fun time?" Ash asked.
"Grauu." Charla said with a red face as she nuzzled the side of Charizard's face.
That was when Ash noticed Pikachu wasn't among them.
"Hey wait, where's Pikachu?" Ash said before Serena saw him running along the walkway.
"There he is." Serena said before Pikachu reached them.
"Geez Pikachu, where have you been." Serena said seeing him covered in mud and looking wet.
"Pika." He said sweat dropping with a slight smile.
Ash noticed something was up with Pikachu through their aura connection, he was trying to hide something even from him.
"Pikachu, what were you doing in the rainforest?" Ash asked.
"Pika chu." He said with a slightly embarrassed look and still sweat dropping.
Through his aura connection to Pikachu Ash figured out what was going on.
"Alright then, if you feel comfortable with that." Ash said with a slight smile.
"I don't get it?" Serena said before Ash gave her a certain look and she figured it out.
"Oh." Serena said as the other pokemon all stared at Pikachu.
"Chu."
Forty minutes later Ash and Serena were back in their bathing suits at the base of the lagoon that lead to a river into the rainforest.
There was a kayak rental building where they rented a pair of Kayaks.
"Enjoy the ride." One of the rental workers with a Pidgey on his shoulder said.
"Thank you." Serena said as she and Ash put lifejackets into their kayaks then got in themselves as Pikachu climbed onto Ash's shoulder and the water pokemon jumped into the water.
Ash and Serena kept their other pokemon except Charizard and Charla in their pokeballs. When they got into their Kayaks and began paddling down the river as Charizard and Charla flew just above them.
As the group paddled further into the rain forest they saw the beauty of it from the river. They saw a few pokemon near the edge of the river and in the trees. The river itself housed fewer pokemon than the lagoon, there were a few Magikarp and Goldeen.
"This place is beautiful." Serena said before Croconaw jumped out of the water in front of Serena's kayak, making her jump.
"Naw!" Croconaw shouted as he happily jump out of the water again and again.
"Geez Croconaw would you stop doing that." Serena said sweat dropping.
"Come on, he's just having a little fun." Ash said.
Moments later Croconaw blasted Ash and Pikachu with Watergun, drenching them in water.
"Croc!" Croconaw shouted as he kept moving around.
Serena laughed a little as Ash and Pikachu wiped the water out of their faces and gave slightly irritated looks.
"That wasn't very nice Croconaw."
"Come on Ash, he was just having a little fun." Serena said.
"Fun, like this." Ash said as he and Pikachu smiled as he smashed his paddle into the water, drenching Serena with water.
Serena's expression changed completely.
"Now you've done it!" She shouted before they started to exchange blows of water.
Seeing this , Croconaw leapt out of the water and unleashed a water gun right at Ash.
"Pika!" Pikachu shouted.
With his more advanced senses, Ash was able to move fast and duck just before the water gun could reach him. The attack went over his head and crashed into Serena, knocking her out of her Kayak.
"Serena!" Ash shouted.
"Pika!".
"Croc." Croconaw said sweat dropping, not intending to do that.
Moments later Serena came out of the water beside Ash's kayak and grabbed him before pulling him into the water.
Pikachu was able to jump back into the kayak.
Once Ash was in the water, the two started wrestling trying to dunk the other before Vaporeon soon joined in trying to help Serena as Croconaw did the same trying to help Ash.
Blastoise and Pikachu on the other hand, just enjoyed the show.
A few minutes later Ash and Serena got out of the water at a larger section of the river that was connected to a water fall.
They dragged the kayaks out of the water before they took a look around the rain forest around them.
"This rainforest is amazing, it's ashamed there's no places like this in Kalos." Serena said.
"You really like the Seafoam islands don't you." Ash said.
"I love it here." Serena said as she continued to gaze at the beauty of the environment around her.
"Well, if I do make it into the elite four here in Kanto we'll end up staying. Elite four members can afford to live just about anywhere. We could get a house in the seafoam islands." Ash said.
Serena turned to him, and put her arms around his shoulders.
"I'd like that." She said before kissing him.
Moments later they heard something. The two turned around to see none other than Brendan and May on kayaks coming towards them.
"May? Brendan?" Ash asked.
The two didn't notice Ash and Serena until they got closer.
"Hey Brendan look, it's Ash and Serena." May said.
Ash and Serena were a little uncomfortable seeing these two considering how their last conversation ended. They were hoping they didn't remember that.
May and Brendan got out and came ashore.
"So you guys came kayaking too, what are the odds." Brendan said.
"We really didn't get a chance to talk too much last time. But since we're all here now." May said.
The 4 sat down and took out some food for their pokemon and themselves.
"So you just became a Kanto queen." May said.
"I did." Serena said.
"That's very impressive. You have to be a real performer to win that title." May said.
"You said you were an NPC trainer Ash, that's very impressive." Brendan said.
"It certainly wasn't easy, but we don't want to stop there. I'm going to make it into the Kanto Elite four" Ash said.
"Setting your sights high, that's great. I myself want to become the champion of Hoenn some day. A few years ago I won the Hoenn league." Brendan said.
"That's incredible." Ash said.
"Thanks." Brendan said.
"So what do you do May?" Serena asked.
"I'm a trainer like Brendan. When he started out on his journey I started out on mine. We became sort of rivals, occasionally finding each other throughout Hoenn and having a battle before we met again in Ever grande city for one final battle. But as you heard , Brendan won. Still our parents kept pushing us together until it inevitably happened." May said.
"What about you two?" Brendan asked.
"We met as children at professor Oak's pokemon camp. I had a crush on him, then we met almost 10 years later when he moved to Kalos." Serena said.
"Wow marrying your childhood crush, it's like what ever girl dreams of , but rarely get's to do." May said.
"If you started your journey in Kalos , how did you end up with a Pikachu as a starter pokemon?" Brendan asked.
"Pikachu and I had an interesting first day together." Ash said as he and Pikachu recalled the incident in Lumoise city.
"Well, Sceptile was my first pokemon." Brendan said.
"Swampert was mine." May said as Ash and Serena looked back at their pokemon.
"My first pokemon was my Delphox, but she's with professor Oak right now." Serena said.
"I must say Ash, it's quite rare for someone to catch all 3 of a regions starts, but you have all 3 of the Kanto starters with you, and a Jhoto starter." Brendan said.
"Well, stranger things have happened to us on our journeys." Ash said.
Brendan gave a slightly competitive look at Ash.
"You know, I've never battled anyone from the NPC. Would you be up for a battle Ash?" Brendan asked.
Ash and Pikachu gave confident looks as well.
"Always."
"PIka!"
"I'd like to battle him to." May said.
"Why don't we have a double battle." Serena said.
"Sounds great." Brendan said.
"Pika!" Pikachu shouted.
"Alright Pikachu you can battle for me." Ash said.
"Who wants to battle?" Serena asked her pokemon.
"Sol!" Absol shouted as he sprinted over to Serena.
Before Brendan and May could even ask, their Sceptile and Swampert rushed over beside them.
"Well we know who wants to battle for us." May said.
Ash and Serena got to one end of the open area with their pokemon while Brendan and May did the same on the opposite end with theirs.
"Alright a two on two battle, one pokemon per trainer. " Ash said.
"Let's begin, Swampert use Muddy water!" May shouted.
"Sceptile use Leafblade!" Brendan shouted.
Swampert unleashed a wave of thick muddy water before Swampert leapt onto his hands before he threw the grass starter up and above the water with his arm blades glowing.
"Absol use Night slash in the center of the wave!" Serena shouted.
"Pikachu stay on Absol's back and use Iron tail!" Ash shouted.
Absol's head fin glowed white as Pikachu leapt onto his back and the white wolf sprinted at the muddy wave. Once he reached it, he slashed clean through it, avoiding any damage.
At the same time, Sceptile backflipped behind them and tried to slice them up.
Luckily, Pikachu leapt back and knocked Sceptile's arms aside with Iron tail.
The two kept sparring with each other as Swampert began sprinting over to Absol before leaping up and over him.
"Hammer arm!" May shouted.
"Absol use double team with Night Slash!" Serena shouted.
Absol moved out of Swampert's way before creating a dozen copies of himself before each sprinted around him with their head fins glowing.
"Get them all Swampert!" May shouted.
Swampert moved incredibly fast for something his size, using his now glowing hands to smash through each of the copies before hitting Absol himself, hurling him back.
"Absol!" Serena shouted.
At the same time Pikachu moved swiftly and acrobatically away from each of Sceptile's strikes from his Leaf blades and his tail.
That was when Ash saw Swampert rushing at knocked down Absol.
"Pikachu Quick attack with slam!". Ash shouted.
As the Swampert raised his arms over Absol , Pikachu sprinted over and used slam to smash into Swampert's chest.
Forcing him to stumble backwards.
"Sceptile use Leaf storm!" Brendan shouted as Sceptile hurled his tail forward and unleashed a hurricane of leaves at the two pokemon.
"Absol protect!" Serena shouted as Absol got up and in front of Pikachu as he formed a barrier around them that absorbed all the incoming leaves.
"Leaf blade and aim low." Brendan said.
"Rock slide !" May shouted.
Sceptile's arm blades began to glow as he came in low and tried to slash Pikachu and Absol. At the same time, Swampert hurled a group of large rocks into the air above the two.
"Agility!" Ash and Serena shouted as Pikachu and Absol began leaping off the incoming rocks, avoiding Sceptile's attack.
"Pikachu use Iron tail!"
"Night Slash!" Serena shouted.
Absol's head fin glowed black and violet as he leapt off the last rock and slashed across Swampert's chest, forcing him back to the ground.
At the same time, Pikachu turned his tail metal and hit three of the rocks hard enough to hurl them down without smashing them to pebbles.
Sceptile kicked off the ground and sliced these rocks in half with his leaf blades.
He kept slashing through any rocks Pikachu launched at him, until Pikachu kicked off one and flew right into Sceptile's chest using slam as soon as his arms were open wide enough to avoid leaf blade.
After Pikachu slammed into Sceptile's chest, the grass starter was hurled back onto the ground and landed on his feet at the same time Swampert did.
"Swampert use Earthquake!"
Swampert smashed into the ground and unleashed a powerful ground quake.
"Dodge it!" Ash and Serena shouted as they both leapt up and over the ground quake.
"Sceptile use Bullet Seed and Leaf Blade." Sceptile leapt up after he was helped up by Swampert before he soared through the air and blasted Pikachu and Absol with a furry of seeds. Neither were able to dodge seeing as they were in mid air. Finally Sceptile slashed the two with Leaf blade before doing a front flip and landing beyond them.
Before Pikachu and Absol could even hit the ground Swampert hurled himself forward with his arms held back.
"Hammer Arm!" May shouted before Swampert smashed his arms into Pikachu and Absol, hurling them back.
When Pikachu landed he got up and shook off the pain. Ash had trained all his pokemon to take a lot of hits, Absol on the other hand was now very fatigued.
He struggled to get up as Pikachu saw both Swampert and Sceptile sprinting at them preparing to unleash on them both.
"Pikachu use Thunder!" Ash shouted.
Pikachu's cheeks sparked before he charged up.
"Pika chu!" He shouted as he unleashed a massive bolt of electricity that soared through the air and crashed into both pokemon.
Despite electricity not being effective against grass types, the Thunder was so powerful that it caused Sceptile to stop in his tracks. Swampert on the other hand was immune to electric attacks and kept moving forward unaffected.
He was approaching Pikachu who was still keeping Sceptile at bay with Thunder.
"Mud bomb!" May shouted.
"Night Slash!" Serena shouted. Just before Swampert could launch his attack, Absol had gotten back up and slashed his head fin across Swampert's chest, forcing him back.
"Slam!" Ash shouted before Pikachu hurled himself into Swampert's chest and hurled him onto the ground with swirly eyes.
"Sceptile use Leafstorm!" Brendan shouted.
"Protect!" Serena shouted as Absol cover himself and Pikachu with a barrier that absorbed all the incoming leaves.
"Thunder!" Ash shouted as Pikachu unleashed Thunder into Sceptile, holding him in place.
"Night Slash!" Serena shouted as Absol ran forward before Slashing Sceptile across the chest.
"Iron tail!" Ash shouted. As Sceptile stumbled backwards , Pikachu leapt forward with his tail covered in metal before he smashed Sceptile's face.
Sceptile fell backwards before landing on the ground with swirly eyes.
"We did it!" Ash shouted.
"Pika!".
"Sol." Absol said breathing deeply.
"Well, we did our best." May said before she returned Swampert and Brendan returned Sceptile.
The 4 trainers approached each other.
"You guys are good." Brendan said.
"Thanks, you guys are good yourselves. I can see how you won a pokemon league." Ash said.
"Well you can't win them all." May said.
After packing up their things, the 4 got into their kayaks and began rowing back down the river together.
"So are you guys going back to Hoenn after this?" Serena asked.
"We are, I'm interviewing for a possible position as a frontier brain in Hoenn." May said.
"That would be awesome, one of our friends is a frontier Brain." Ash said.
"Really. What about you guys?" Brendan asked.
"After this, I'm going to train until the Indigo league starts. Once it does, I'm going to win it and become a member of the elite 4." Ash said confidently.
"Pika!".
Later that night in the rainforest , 3 aura guardians with a Pidgeot, Alakazam, and Scizor were tending to several wounded pokemon that had been hurt by a fallen tree.
"There you go." One of the guardians said as he helped the now healed Pikachu up.
"Pika!" The Pikachu shouted before she ran off.
"It's getting pretty late, after helping these guys we should head back to the guild." One of the guardians said.
"You're right we should." Another started before the 3 felt a powerful presence approach them.
"Did you feel that?" The third one asked as their pokemon got into aggressive stances and their partners let out their hidden blades.
They slowly turned to see another guardian standing there with a tall pokemon beside him.
Before any of the guardians could say anything the pokemon raised its hand and its eyes glowed white. The 3 guardians and their pokemon began to squirm as if they were having seizures. The other pokemon saw this and ran off terrified before the 6 guardians stood up with glowing white eyes.

Before anyone says anything, this is game May not anime May, game May.
Yeah they exist in this world and their role in the overall story doesn't end here.
