I hope you all had a good week:) We just reached 2,000 views on the story, and I'd just like to thank you all for sticking around and reviewing and reading. I have the new cover photo, and it will be uploaded by the end of the week! Sorry that this chapter is a bit shorter, but I've been away in Spain all week. Enjoy!

Friday 12th September:

Lyssa Carrington's POV:

Lyssa smoothed the creases on her Cheerios uniform and took her seat in French class. She removed her phone from her bag and looked through the recordings until she found the one she wanted. She hit play and grinned.

Avalon: Why did you kiss me?

Tayla: I-uhm, it was a joke.

Tayla: Okay, sorry. I don't know. I've been having weird feelings lately... towards you.

Lyssa had stopped recording at that point. She still didn't know what to do with the recording, but she knew she could use it to restore her reputation somehow.

"Hey, is anyone sitting here?"

Lyssa looked up to see Jonas looking down at her. She crossed her arms and shook her head. Jonas sat down and removed his books from his bag.

"Look..." Jonas trailed off.

Lyssa looked at him expectantly, but scowled when he didn't continue. They sat together in an awkward silence before Lyssa finally built up the courage to speak.

"Why did you lead me on?" Lyssa asked.

Jonas looked at her confusedly.

She sighed, 'We both know you weren't drunk that night.'

Jonas looked down at the floor guiltily and Lyssa drummed her fingers on the table. Jonas avoided eye contact with her and Lyssa sighed.

"You're a coward. And a sleeze-bag." Lyssa spat at him.

"Eloise broke up with me." Jonas said.

"And rightfully so." Lyssa replied, nodding her head.

Jonas looked up at her. Hurt flashed in his eyes and Lyssa frowned.

"You still haven't answered my question." Lyssa said.

Jonas opened his mouth to say something, but changed his mind.

"Did you even love Eloise?" Lyssa asked.

Jonas looked up at her, his eyes watering, 'I did.'

Lyssa raised an eyebrow, 'Did?'

"Before I met you." Jonas said.

"We never talked before the party." Lyssa replied bluntly.

"I know, but..." Jonas sighed, 'I always used to see you around. I could never build up the courage to talk to you though.'

Lyssa's face softened, 'Why didn't you call it off with Eloise?'

"How could I do that to her?" Jonas cried, earning the attention of most of the class.

Lyssa hushed him, 'So you thought that cheating on her would be better?'

Jonas shook his head, 'My head's a mess.'

Lyssa pursed her lips, 'I know how you feel.'

"How?" Jonas asked.

"I-" Lyssa changed her mind and switched the subject, 'Do you know what pisses me off more than anything?'

Jonas shrugged and Lyssa ran a hand through her hair.

"My reputation got ruined. Did yours? Does everyone hate you now? And give you dirty looks?" Lyssa asked.

Jonas shook his head and Lyssa continued.

"Exactly. So stop playing the victim here. Man up and go apologise to Eloise." Lyssa said.

Jonas opened his mouth to say something, but Lyssa stood up and moved to the other side of the room.

*At Glee Club*

Will Schuester's POV:

"Okay, who wants to perform their duet first?" Will asked, clapping his hands together.

Nobody raised their hand so Will pointed to the person nearest to him, Charlotte Hudson. Charlotte blushed, but walked to the centre of the room, followed by Ava Flores. Charlotte whispered something to the pianist and he nodded. Ava pulled up two seats for them and they sat down in the middle of the room.

"I'm aware that Santana sung this song before a few years ago, and for the same reason," Charlotte began, glancing at Santana, 'But I'd like to dedicate this to my cousin Finn.

The pianist began playing and Will remembered the song all-to well.

(Charlotte Singing, Ava Singing, Both Singing)

If I die young, bury me in satin

Lay me down on a bed of roses

Sink me in the river at dawn

Send me away with the words of a love song

Uh oh, uh oh

Lord make me a rainbow, I'll shine down on my mother

She'll know I'm safe with you when she stands under my colors, oh,

And life ain't always what you think it ought to be, no

Ain't even grey, but she buries her baby

The sharp knife of a short life, oh well

I've had just enough time

If I die young, bury me in satin

Lay me down on a bed of roses

Sink me in the river at dawn

Send me away with the words of a love song

The sharp knife of a short life, oh well

I've had just enough time

And I'll be wearing white, when I come into your kingdom

I'm as green as the ring on my little cold finger,

I've never known the lovin' of a man

But it sure felt nice when he was holdin' my hand,

There's a boy here in town, says he'll love me forever,

Who would have thought forever could be severed by...

...the sharp knife of a short life, oh well?

I've had just enough time

So put on your best, boys, and I'll wear my pearls

What I never did is done

A penny for my thoughts, oh, no, I'll sell 'em for a dollar

They're worth so much more after I'm a goner

And maybe then you'll hear the words I been singin'

Funny when you're dead how people start listenin'

If I die young, bury me in satin

Lay me down on a bed of roses

Sink me in the river at dawn

Send me away with the words of a love song

Uh oh

The ballad of a dove

Go with peace and love

Gather up your tears, keep 'em in your pocket

Save 'em for a time when you're really gonna need 'em, oh

The sharp knife of a short life, oh well

I've had just enough time

So put on your best, boys, and I'll wear my pearls.

When they finished, Will noticed that he, along with Santana and Blaine, had begun to cry. He rubbed his eyes and began clapping. Soon enough, everyone joined in and Charlotte smiled sadly. The pair sat back down and Will smiled at them.

"Well done." Will complimented, 'Who's next? Sibyl?'

Sibyl Turner looked up at Will and blushed, 'Ehm, Riley and I didn't get time to practice our duet.'

"No, you kept ignoring me every time I tried bringing it up." Riley Slater shouted defensively.

Will sighed, 'Okay, who actually has a duet prepared?'

Joshua Shapiro, Austen Fischer, Lyssa Carrington, Tayla Mallory, Valery Crane and Santana all raised their hands.

Will rubbed his temples, 'This isn't acceptable. I'll let you all off because it's our first week back. Joshua and Austen, you go next.'

Joshua and Austen strode to the middle of the room and turned their backs to the Glee Club members.

Joshua turned back to face the Glee Club members

Where have all the good men gone

And where are all the gods?

Where's the street-wise Hercules

To fight the rising odds?

Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed?

Late at night I toss and I turn and I dream of what I need

I need a hero

I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night

He's gotta be strong

And he's gotta be fast

And he's gotta be fresh from the fight

I need a hero

I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light

He's gotta be sure

And it's gotta be soon

And he's gotta be larger than life

Austen turned to face the Glee Club members

Somewhere after midnight

In my wildest fantasy

Somewhere just beyond my reach

There's someone reaching back for me

Racing on the thunder and rising with the heat

It's gonna take a superman to sweep me off my feet

I need a hero

I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night

He's gotta be strong

And he's gotta be fast

And he's gotta be fresh from the fight

I need a hero

I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light

He's gotta be sure

And it's gotta be soon

And he's gotta be larger than life

Up where the mountains meet the heavens above

Out where the lightning splits the sea

I would swear that there's someone somewhere

Watching me

Through the wind and the chill and the rain

And the storm and the flood

I can feel his approach

Like the fire in my blood

I need a hero

I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night

He's gotta be strong

And he's gotta be fast

And he's gotta be fresh from the fight

I need a hero

I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light

He's gotta be sure

And it's gotta be soon

And he's gotta be larger than life

When they finished, everyone jumped up and began cheering. Will noticed a boy who he recognised as Blake Phillips watching the song from the halls.

"Excellent!" Will exclaimed, 'Valery and Santana.'

Valery and Santana walked to the middle of the room and wished eachother luck.

(Valery Singing, Santana Singing, Both Singing)

I left a note on my bedpost

Said not to repeat yesterday's mistakes

What I tend to do when it comes to you

I see only the good, selective memory

The way you make me feel yeah, you got a hold on me

I've never met someone so different

Oh here we go

You part of me now, you part of me

So where you go I follow, follow, follow

Ohohohoh ohohohoh

I can't remember to forget you

Ohohohoh ohohohoh

I keep forgetting I should let you go

But when you look at me, the only memory,

Is us kissing in the moonlight

Ohohohoh ohohohoh

I can't remember to forget you

Ooooh

I can't remember to forget you

Ohohohoh ohohohoh

I go back again

Fall off the train

Land in his bed

Repeat yesterday's mistakes

What I'm trying to say is not to forget

You see only the good, selective memory

The way he makes me feel like

The way he makes me feel

I never see to act so stupid

Oh here we go

He a part of me now, he a part of me

So where he goes I follow, follow, follow, oh

Ohohohoh ohohohoh

I can't remember to forget you

Ohohohoh ohohohoh

I keep forgetting I should let you go

But when you look at me, the only memory,

Is us kissing in the moonlight

Ohohohoh ohohohoh

I can't remember to forget you

I'd rob and I'd kill to keep him with me

I'd do anything for that boy

I'd give my last dime to hold him tonight

I'd do anything for that boy

I'd rob and I'd kill to keep him with me

I'd do anything for that boy

I'd give my last dime to hold him tonight

I'd do anything for that boy

Ohohohoh ohohohoh

I can't remember to forget you

Ohohohoh ohohohoh

I keep forgetting I should let you go

But when you look at me, the only memory,

Is us kissing in the moonlight

Ohohohoh ohohohoh

I can't remember to forget you

But when you look at me, the only memory,

Is us kissing in the moonlight

Ohohohoh ohohohoh

I can't remember to forget you

The room erupted into cheers and Valery and Santana laughed before bowing.

"Very energetic," Will laughed, before glancing at Lyssa.

Lyssa had told Will earlier that day that herself and Tayla weren't going to perform a duet, and he honestly didn't expect them to.

"Santana, Blaine and I will discuss our decision for the winner over here," Will pointed to the corner of the room.

Lyssa Carrington's POV:

As soon as Santana, Mr. Schuester and Blaine were out of ear-shot, Lyssa turned around in her seat to face Tayla.

Lyssa tapped her shoulder and smiled, 'Can we talk? Please?'

Tayla looked surprised, but she nodded and stood up. The two girls stepped outside into the hallway and Lyssa lead Tayla further down the hall.

"Look, I'd just like to say-" Tayla began.

"Shut it." Lyssa snarled.

Tayla narrowed her eyes at Lyssa, but she kept quiet. Lyssa removed her phone from her pocket and started playing the recording of Tayla and Avalon's conversation from yesterday. As soon as the recording was done, Tayla's eyes widened and she grabbed Lyssa's arm tightly.

"How did you get that?" Tayla hissed.

Lyssa grinned, 'I have my sources.'

Tayla let go of Lyssa's arm and Tayla's face softened.

"Please delete that." Tayla tried.

"Ha! Fat chance of that happening," Lyssa laughed in Tayla's face, 'Now here's what I need you to do.'

"Why should I do anything for you?" Tayla asked.

"Because, if you do, then I'll delete the recording," Lyssa smirked, 'And if you don't, then I'll play it over the intercom for everyone to hear.'

Tayla's eyes widened and she sighed, motioning for Lyssa to continue.

Lyssa had thought about how to restore her reputation for most of the day, and she'd remembered that Principal Sylvester had made her a deal. She promised that if Lyssa got enough people to quit Glee Club, she'd give her anything. And Lyssa wanted her reputation back, and she was pretty sure that Principal Sylvester was capable of that.

Lyssa clicked her tongue and smiled at Tayla, 'I need you to quit Glee Club.'

"Done." Tayla replied straight away.

Lyssa's smile widened, 'And the Cheerios.'

"No way." Tayla protested.

"Fine. Then I'll just take a little trip to the Principal's office on Monday morning and accidentally play the recording over the intercom for the entire student body to hear." Lyssa sighed dramatically, beginning to walk down the hall.

"Wait!" Tayla called.

Lyssa smirked and twirled around to face a defeated Tayla.

"Fine. But you have to swear you'll delete that recording." Tayla pointed at Lyssa.

Lyssa drew a cross over her heart with her fingers, 'Cross my heart.'

Tayla nodded sadly and the two girls returned to the choir room, their hearts pounding in their chests.

Aaron Oliver Kim's POV:

Aaron eyed Lyssa and Tayla suspiciously as they entered the choir room. He had a feeling that something had just happened, but he was snapped from his thoughts when Mr. Schuester cleared his throat.

"After a long deliberation process, we've agreed on a winning pair." Mr. Schuester said.

Aaron's heart began to race in his chest. If he won, then it would be just him and Avalon alone at Breadstix.

"The winner is..." Mr. Schuester announced over-dramatically, 'Avalon and Aaron!'

A smile crept onto Aaron's face as Avalon wrapped her arms around him from behind and everyone began clapping. Avalon and Aaron walked to the middle of the room and shook hands with Mr. Schuester before receiving a small white envelope.

"Okay, have a good weekend everyone!" Mr. Schuester dismissed the Glee Club members.

Aaron turned to Avalon, 'So are you doing anything tonight?'

Avalon's cheeks turned slightly red, 'Nope.'

Aaron held up the envelope, 'Feel like getting something to eat?'

"Sure. Pick me up at seven." Avalon said over her shoulder as she walked away.

"Should I dress formally?" Aaron asked.

"Nah, wear whatever's comfortable." Avalon replied.

"Okay, see you later." Aaron called after her.

Avalon Brickstone's POV:

Avalon admired herself in the mirror. She'd spent the last two hours getting ready for her dinner with Aaron. She didn't know whether to call it a date or not.

She'd decided to let her dark-brown hair flow down her back and over her shoulders. She had decided to wear a pair of dark skinny jeans and a black tank top with a pair of black Converse. The weather was surprisingly warm for the first week of September. She fastened her key necklace around her neck and shoved her phone into her pocket.

Just then, the doorbell went off and Avalon bounded down the stairs. She opened the door calmly and smiled at Aaron.

"Ready to go?" Aaron asked.

Avalon nodded, 'Yep.'

Avalon stepped outside and closed the door behind her. It was too warm to drive, so Avalon felt like walking.

"I didn't bring my car. I feel like walking," Aaron told her, 'If that's okay with you.'

Avalon smiled, 'That's perfect.'

Breadstix wasn't too far from Avalon's house. The pair talked about various things as they made their way to the restaurant. They'd arrived at a main road and Avalon wasn't paying attention to the road. Aaron grabbed Avalon's hand and pulled her back as a car went whizzing past them.

"Sorry!" Avalon apologised to Aaron.

Aaron laughed, 'It's fine.'

Avalon looked down at their intertwined hands. Aaron loosened his grip, and Avalon looked away sadly.

They arrived at Breadstix and sat down at their table. Dinner wasn't very eventful. Apart from the chit-chat and one-sided glances, nothing interesting happened. Aaron handed the waiter their voucher and the pair left the restaurant.

"So, what do you feel like doing?" Aaron asked.

Avalon shrugged, 'Feel like going for a walk in the park?'

Aaron nodded, 'Sure.'

The park was situated across the road from Breadstix. Avalon and Aaron walked around the park in a comfortable silence for around ten minutes. Suddenly, rain started pouring down from the sky and Avalon cursed.

"Did you bring a jacket?" Aaron asked.

Avalon shook her head and Aaron removed his. He wrapped it around her and Avalon looked up at him.

"Are you sure?" Avalon asked.

Aaron nodded and the pair of them ran for cover under the nearest tree. Avalon stood still, pulling Aaron's jacket around her tightly.

"Is this a date?" Avalon blurted out.

Aaron turned and looked at her, a confused look on his face.

"What did you say?" Aaron asked.

Avalon sighed, 'Are we on a date right now?'

Aaron thought for a moment, 'Do you want it to be a date?'

Avalon nodded sheepishly and Aaron smiled.

"Then yes, it is." Aaron replied.

Avalon looked up at him and smiled. Their eyes locked and Avalon was reminded about the first time she'd looked into those deep brown eyes. Without thinking, Avalon reached up and pulled Aaron in for a kiss.

I hope you all enjoyed! Have a good week!
