CH 57:Blood brothers

Felix brought his hidden blades up just in time to block Seir's as he crashed into him. Felix felt the shear force behind Seir's attack, and was nearly knocked onto his back.

Felix stumbled backwards as Seir savagely attacked Felix.

"Grou!" Felix's Lucario tried to intervene, but was forced back by the sheer power around enhanced Seir.

The same happened for any others in the group who also tried to help him.

"Dad!" Red shouted as Felix struggled just to defend himself

As Seir locked his hidden blades against Felix's , he slowly moved them closer to him.

Felix grunted as he took a deep breath and tried to unleash a pulse of aura that forced Seir back just enough for him to escape Seir's incoming strikes.

"Die!" Seir roared as he leapt up and smashed his foot into Felix's chest. As Felix was hurled back he cough out some blood, realizing that Seir had cracked one of his ribs.

"We have to do something!" Ash shouted.

Ash couldn't take watching his father get beaten like this and all they could do was sit and watch. The power of the heart kept away any Seir didn't want near them. Human or pokemon.

Despite this he, Red, and Korrina kept trying to get in and help him, only to be hurled back.

Felix struggled to get to his feet as he took another deep breath and turned his eyes blue as his body glowed blue.

He then rushed at Seir and the two clashed. Despite all of Felix's skills, training, and physical prowess. Seir not only had all those to match his, but the power of the Hear of Reduka enhancing them.

Felix's strikes were blocked and he was struck back harder. He was able to keep Seir's blades away but his body began to wear down as Seir broke another two ribs, dislocated his right shoulder, then smashed him across the jaw.

When Felix stumbled backwards and spit out some more blood, the group saw 2 of his teeth come out as well.

"Make him stop!" Serena shouted not able to bare the sight.

Arthur's age, made him recover slower from the initial blast of energy and he slowly looked up at his son being slowly killed by Seir.

As Felix got back up he breathed deeply as he brought his hidden blades up before Seir rushed over. He knocked Felix's blades aside as Felix tried to lurch back. But not fast enough, Seir sliced his right hidden blade across Felix's left eyeball.

"Ghaaaaaa!" he shouted in pain.

"Dad!" Ash and Red shouted.

"Grouu!" Lucario roared.

Felix held his eye as blood came out and he was hurled back.

Arthur's eyes widened as he saw this.

Korrina and the others saw Arthur get up glowing blue with blue eyes.

"You will not take my son!" He shouted as he sprinted over. He forced himself bast the blasts coming at him and slashed at Seir with his hidden blades.

Seir blocked Arthur's strikes, before bringing the heart back up and forced Arthur back beside his Charizard.

"No!" Arthur shouted as he and the others saw Seir come back at Felix.

"Kal please!" Red shouted with tears coming down his eyes.

"Grouuu!" Lucario roared as he also pleaded with tears coming down his face.

Ash looked over at Lucario and realized where was something he could do.

He sprinted over as Serena, Charla, Brock, and the female Pikachu looked away.

Ash reached Felix's Lucario and forced him to look at him.

"Lucario, you're the only one who can save him now. You have to give him everything you have left. Only your bond with my dad can five him the strength to beat Seir. Only my dad can do this, and can only do it with you." Ash said as he looked straight into Lucario's eyes.

Felix was still on his back holding his cut open eye as his vision faded with his remaining eye and he saw Seir standing over him.

Felix's Lucario got to his knees and held his Lucarionite in his hands.

He closed his eyes and gave every bit of energy he had left into his bond with Felix as he tightened his grip on the stone.

Ash saw this as Lucario began to glow blue.

"Please, please let this work." Ash said as he watched his father intensely.

"For Shelly!" Seir shouted as he raised his right hidden blade and came down at Felix.

Just before he could a colorful sphere formed around Felix.

"What?" Seir said.

"What!?" All but Ash said.

"It worked!" He shouted.

As the colorful sphere vanished Felix leapt back onto his feet.

He was now much larger physically and had black spikes growing out of his arms and along his spine and his body was glowing blue as well as his eyes.

Felix almost looked identical to Altair.

"What happened? Did he actually?" Korrina started as the others watched in awe.

Felix's ribs had snapped back into place and he could see out of his left eye again. He acrobatically leapt up and slammed his foot across Seir's face and hurled him back.

As Seir got back up, Felix had reached him already. The two began a fierce melee with their hidden blades. Despite being powered up by the Heart of Reduka, Felix was moving faster and hitting harder than Seir. He slammed his foot and fists across Seir's body. He also managed to slash his hidden blades across his arm , chest and leg.

Seir used the power of the heart to unleash a pulse of aura that forced Felix back, before he coughed up some blood.

Felix landed on his feet and then unleashed a pulse of aura that hurled Seir back. As Seir struggled to get back up, Felix leapt up over over 10 feet in the air and slammed his foot into Seir's chest, knocking him back before another fierce Melee.

"Get him son!" Arthur shouted.

Despite the power of the Heart, Seir didn't move fast enough and his forearms were knocked aside before Felix thrusted his hidden blades into the sides of Seir's neck.

Seir convulsed as blood started to come out of his mouth.

His two pokemon saw this and cried out in terror.

"He got him!" Red shouted.

Seir's eyes kept glowing violet and black as he stared into Felix's blue eyes. He looked like a savage animal as he stared into Felix's eyes.

"I hate you. I hate you." He said as more blood came out of his mouth.

Felix felt tears come out of his eyes as he removed his blades from Seir's throat.

He felt the corrupting power of the Heart inside Seir and saw him slowly drop the Heart of Reduka.

Just before it hit the ground, Felix caught it and felt it's power.

"You can still save the man he once was." Felix heard. He knew who's voice it was. He had heard that voice before, many years ago. When he decided to return to his son's lives.

Felix looked back into Seir's eyes.

"I won't let you die as Seir!" He said as he held the Heart of Reduka and grabbed Seir's head.

The Heart of Reduka glowed white as Seir's eyes turned from violet and black to blue and he glowed blue as well.

Ash and the others saw this and didn't know what was happening.

"What is he doing?" Serena asked.

"He's using the heart." Arthur said.

Felix continued until the group saw black and violet energy come out of his mouth.

Ash and the other guardians could feel Seir's aura change completely.

Felix had felt this aura before, over 20 years ago.

Felix's body returned to normal as his eyes stopped glowing.

Kal's body reverted to normal as his eyes stopped glowing.

Felix slowly lowered Kal to the ground as he looked up at Felix.

"Felix." Kal said in a different tone.

"It's alright, it's alright Kal."

Kal looked up at Felix's face, his missing teeth and his bloody left eye.

"I hurt you, I've hurt so many people. I've done so many terrible things." Kal said.

"Seir is gone, you aren't a monster." Felix said.

"Kal, I'm sorry, I'm sorry what I did to you and Shelly."

"No, Shelly's death wasn't your fault. It, it was mine. I let my anger and lust for revenge cloud my judgement, I let myself become Seir."

Felix took Kal's hands and clasped them together over the heart as they both held it.

"Be at peace, my brother." Felix said as Kal's eyes glowed white as his vision changed.

He no longer saw Felix, he saw something else.

"You may have gotten lost along the way, but you have returned."

Kal saw he was on an island, an island he had never been on before.

"Where am I?" He said before he heard something.

"Kal." He heard before he turned and saw a Blastoise behind him.

"Shh, Shelly." He said.

Felix felt Kal's aura pass on.

A few more tears came down his face before he closed Kal's eyes.

"Rest in peace."

He slowly got up as Lucario and the others rushed over to him.

"Felix!" Arthur shouted as he helped his son stay standing and Lucario did the same.

"Felix, you're eye." Arthur said.

"I can still see out of my right eye. Kal is gone, he's , he's gone." Felix said.

"He wanted to make slaves out of everyone on earth dad." Red said.

"Seir did, Kal was my blood brother." Felix said.

Ash and Red came forward Felix hugged them as tears continued to come down his face.

Pikachu and the pokemon saw Garchomp and Aerodactyl laying on the ground looking as if they were dead.

"Pika." Pikachu said with sympathy.

"Grooo." Garchomp groaned saying that their trainer and partner was gone. That they had nothing left to live for.

"Grouu." Korrina's Lucario said, claiming that they shouldn't talk like that.

"Aerooo!" The primal Aerodactyl shrieked. Saying what did they know, they hadn't lost anyone that close to them.

"Aeroo" Aerodactyl said claiming he was a mindless predator before Seir taught him about the bond a pokemon and human could have.

Despite the fact that Seir was mad and these two helped him. Pikachu and the others couldn't help but feel bad for these two. None could imagine loosing their trainer.

Pikachu walked over to the others.

"Pika, Pikachu." He said asking what they were going to do about Garchomp and Aerocatyl.

"Dad, Grandpa, what are we going to do about these two?" Ash asked.

"I'll have my masters take them to the grand enclave. They will take care of them." Arthur said.

"So does this mean it's finally over? Seir and team rocket are both gone." Serena said.

"Mewtwo is still out there, but I have a feeling we won't be the ones who will have to deal with him." Felix said.

The other guardians in the room slowly began to get up with bad headaches.

As the day went on the guardians helped the innocent people and pokemon find their way home.

Felix was in the healing area of the new guardian guild , which was now inside the castle.

Arthur was with him as the healing master did her best to heal him.

"The traitor did a number on you, but it appears mega evolving did a lot to set your body back to healthy shape. Still those teeth won't be growing back and you will never see out of your left eye again unless you're using aura vision." She said.

Felix's eye had been healed physically, but he had a large scar over it and his iris was light blue.

"I'll see we get fake teeth, I can probably get them made of ivory." Arthur said.

"Well, it could be worse. I could be blind completely." Felix said.

"Master you can leave us." Arthur said as the healing master left.

"I can't believe my son, actually mega evolved. Only one other guardian managed to do that, Altair. " Arthur said.

"I still can't believe I was able to do that, it was like everything inside me was enhanced and I felt like I could do anything. You always get a small taste of what it feels like when your pokemon mega evolve, but when you actually do it." Felix said.

There was a minute of silence before Felix spoke again.

"Dad, back in the castle. What you said?"

"Stop. Felix, you deserve an explanation. When you did all those things that I claimed I was ashamed of your for. In truth I was more ashamed of myself."

"What?" Felix said as his Lucario gave just as confused expression.

Arthur's Charizard came up behind him.

"Despite everything I devoted to you, seeing what happened I felt failure in myself. I allowed my expectations of you becoming like your anscestor's that I made you believe you had to devote everything to accomplishing the guardian mission. I know see it's why you did the things you did. All of them, because of me." Arthur said.

"Dad, I did those things because."

"Because of the way I raised you. Don't deny it. When I became grand mentor, I knew I couldn't look weak in front of the other masters. So I started blaming you, I did it so much that I actually started to believe it myself. But when I saw you out there, Seir cutting your eye open." Arthur said.

"It wasn't very pleasant for me either. I guess i'll have to learn to live without proper depth preception" Felix said.

"I suppose you can still see out of that eye with aura vision." Arthur said.

"Really dad, you can always do the same to your own eye and see with aura."

"I'll pass." Arthur said.

"Dad, I know Kal did bad things. But he still deserves a proper burial, with honor like other guardians." Felix said.

"Alright, for you I'll have Lex dig up Shelly and have them buried together in the guardian tombs." Arthur said.

"How did you know he was the guardian of Lavender town?" Felix asked.

"You mean you never truly believed the grand mentor knows the name of every guardian in the world. Felix, come now." Arthur said.

Elsewhere in the castle, Ash and the others were resting from their long day.

"So what do you think Red, better or worse than the ultimate weapon 6 years ago?" Ash asked.

"I don't know what do you think Korrina, Serena?" Red asked.

"Well considering we weren't turned to stone this time, it was considerably better." Serena said.

"You may have been turned to stone, but you all got out perfectly fine in the end. This time we had one escape, one death, and our dad lost 2 teeth plus an eye." Red said.

"I guess that's true." Serena said sweat dropping.

"Plus we actually got to meet Reduka last time." Korrina said.

"Alright it's agreed, the confrontation on the ultimate weapon as more pleasant than this." Ash said.

"You know I'm still a little worried about Mewtwo, he's still out there and still wants to get us and become Mewtwo X again." Brock said.

"He can't become Mewtwo X again without the heart of Reduka and we have it. Besides, even if he did, we could stop him." Red said.

"How, we barely beat him as it is?" Brock asked.

"Mewtwo was as powerful as he was not just because he was Mega evolved, but because the power of the Heart of Reduka was enhancing his abilities, and since he was basically Mew his natural powers combined with the tear made them nearly limitless. If any of our pokemon were enhanced by the power of the heart they would be much more powerful too." Ash said.

"So you're saying any of our pokemon could beat him in his current state?" Brock asked.

"Oh no! He's still just as powerful as Mew in his current state." Korrina said.

"I think only some of the best trainers in the world be able to challenge him." Ash said.

"Speaking of best trainers in the world. The Indigo league starts in a few weeks Ash. Planning on getting back to training before that?" Red asked.

"We've still be training here. But yes, when we leave my pokemon and I will be training all day everyday." Ash said as several of his pokemon who were resting in the room sweat dropped.

"Where will you be training?" Lucy asked.

"Pallet town, I made arrangement with professor Oak. We will be staying at Pallet town until the Indigo league." Ash said.

"Well that should be nice. However, I have to go back to the battle pike. I have been away too long." Lucy said,

"I guess I'll be coming too." Brock said.

"Actually Brock I would rather you not come."

"What? But why?" Brock said with a crestfallen expression.

Lucy sweat dropped.

"I wanted to get back to things there without any distractions. I'll come to the Indigo league and we'll go together from there." Lucy said.

"Ok." Brock said with a pair of tear streams coming from his eyes.

"We'll make sure he's taken care of." Serena said as she and Ash sweat dropped.

Korrina moved her head close to Lucy.

"Is there a reason you don't want him at your home?" Korrina whispered via aura message.

"Actually yes, after Ash and Serena got married Brock has been shifting around and getting ready to ask me. He's not very good at hiding it."

"What you don't want to get married to him?".

"No , I do, it's just I want some time to reconcile with my sister before that." Lucy said.

"Why don't you just let him propose to you and get married the same day like Red and I will."

"Because I'm not quite like you, crazy Kalos girl." Lucy said before Korrina smiled.

"It seems like dad and grandpa are finally reconciling." Red said.

"Well that means for the first time in our lives our entire family is back together." Ash said.

"I'm glad they aren't fighting anymore. Family shouldn't be at each other's throats like they were." Serena said.

The female Pikachu was nuzzling her head against Pikachu's face.

"Pika." She said blushing saying how brave he was standing up to Mewtwo like he did.

"Pika." Pikachu said blushing, sweat dropping and putting his hand behind his head.

Moments later another 2 guardians walked in with a Pidgeot and Heracross.

"Hey we're taking some more pokemon back to the rainforest. Any of you want to join us?" One of the guardians asked.

"Sure." Ash said.

"Why not." Serena said.

"I'll go." Brock said with the same expression on his face.

The two guardians and their pokemon saw this expression and sweat dropped.

A few minutes later , Ash, Serena, and Brock were with the female Pikachu, and a few other wild pokemon.

The 2 guardians they had come with went on a separate path to return some baby Pidgey.

Ash and Serena saw Brock had the same expression on.

"Brock, are you still upset about what Lucy said?" Ash asked.

"She's not breaking up with you, she just wants some personal time with her family. If anything his means she can't focus on much else when she's around you." Serena said.

"It's not that." Brock said as he reached into his jacket and took out a black ring case before opening it and revealing a silver ring with a white diamond embedded in the center.

"Wait, you were going to propose to her?" Serena asked.

"I love her, I know it's only been a year but I know I'm ready." Brock said.

"It's alright Brock, before you know it she'll be back from the battle pike." Ash said.

"What if she finds someone else and falls in love, then forgets about me." Brock said.

"Brock, that's not going to happen." Serena said.

A few minutes later the female Pikachu saw several members of her pack moving around ahead of them.

"Pika." She said staring at them before looking back at Pikachu.

"Pika." She said nervously.

"Pika." PIkachu said.

"So I guess that's the female Pikachu's old pack." Ash said.

"Pika. Pikachu." Pikachu said saying she didn't have to go. That she could stay with Ash and him. That Ash would take good care of her.

"Pika." The female Pikachu said shaking her head.

"Chu." She said claiming that she didn't doubt Ash was a good human and truly cared for his pokemon. But that she was a wild pokemon and would always be a wild pokemon at heart.

"Pika." She said begging PIkachu to come with her, live on the island.

"Chu." PIkachu said saying he couldn't leave Ash, they were family.

"CHu." She said looking said.

"What are they saying?". Serena asked.

"She is saying she wants to stay on the island." Ash said.

"This is a dark day for love." Brock said as Ash and Serena sweat dropped again.

The two Pikachu's stared at each other intensively before the female Pikachu nuzzled Pikachu one more time.

"Pika." Pikachu said saying they would meet again.

The female Pikachu ran off to her pack before turning to pikachu one more time with a sad look. She then turned back to her pack and continued on joining them.

Pikachu slowly climbed back onto Ash's shoulder before giving a sad look.

"I guess we have another reason to come back here." Ash said.

Late at night in Mount Quena Jhoto, Mewtwo stood on top of an island inside of the beautiful lake on top of the mountain.

He stared out at the wild pokemon around him and took a deep breath. Moments later he felt another pokemon flying behind him.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

"Why are you here?"

"Mew." Mew said softly.

"I came here to be at peace. I cannot be Mewtwo X ever again, not without the heart. Without Seir my life is meaningless. I am nothing but a copy of you. Something made by humans. That's all I will ever be. This place, it helps me find some peace, so just leave me." Mewtwo said.

"Mew, Mew" Mew said.

Mewtwo turned to him.

"What do you mean I'm more than just a copy, I'm a living creature to and the father loves me as much as he does you. I'm an abomination. He didn't create me, Dr. Faraway did, and I killed him. Why would the creator love me."

"Mew!". Mew said claiming he was still a pokemon.

"Mew, Mew." Mew said.

Mewtwo's eyes widened as he turned to face Mew.

"He, he wants to see me. But I"

"Mew!" Mew said smiling , telling Mewtwo to follow him.

Mew then flew off as Mewtwo waited a minute before following him.

Author's note

Yup folks that's how Kal's story ends, there was really no other way for me to end it.

Kal is at peace and with Shelly in the afterlife.

Felix is forever blind in his left eye, except for aura vision, but he will live.

Sorry if you wanted someone to catch the female Pikachu, but I can't have every pokemon they interact with be caught, it would be to clique.

However, she and Pikachu's romance doesn't end here :).

The biggest remaining story plot is the Indigo league, expect more chapters based on episodes.
