Brooke had never felt the rage that was boiling in her. Why was her fourteen year old baby girl pantless? And why was the boy laying next to her shirtless?

The next few moments were quick and nobody really knew exactly how it went down.

Brooke charged in grabbing Jack by the forearm, "WHAT the hell is going on here?!" She barked at them both.

Lucas hearing the ruckus charged up and was found with two scared teenagers. One trying to shrink into the bed covers, and the other being held roughly by the arm, and wait, the boy wasn't wearing a shirt.

"Oh, you have got to be fucking kidding me." He said more to himself, at least he thought. Sam looked up. Shit.

"Grab him Lucas." Brooke said gravely. Jack's eyes were wide, "This isn't, it isn't what it looks like." He said in an unsteady voice.

Lucas's eyes burned through Sam as he walked towards Jack and grabbed him roughly from Brooke, "Where's your shirt kid?" He said in a voice that dripped with anger.

Sam saw Brooke making her way towards her side of the bed, "Brooke it's not- we weren't-"

"QUIET." Lucas roared when he heard Sam's voice, "Both of you say absolutely not one WORD until we say so." He grabbed the back of Jack's neck, "NOT. ONE. WORD." His face was only inches from Jack. If Jack could, he would've nodded but felt his head completely motionless within Lucas's grasp.

Lucas pushed Jack in this position down the stairs. He trusted Brooke would follow close behind him with their wayward daughter.

Oh shit. Brooke did not look happy, and now the two were alone. Well now would be the perfect time for Brooke to kill Sam. That was it. She was gone. Sam closed her eyes when she saw Brooke come closer, "Get up." Brooke deadpanned, "Get up now."

Sam didn't move. She much preferred the comfort of the bed, but Brooke didn't particularly care what her daughter wanted at the moment.

Sam yelped not expecting Brooke to have lifted her up from the bed so roughly

"Brooke!"

Brooke paid her daughter no heed. She unceremoniously lifted up Sam's shirt and took it right off, "Hey!" Sam said indignantly.

Brooke felt relieved when she saw the spandex shorts that were being hidden beneath her shirt. They weren't exactly providing much coverage but they were a step up from just being in panties.

Sam now stood in front of her furious mother in nothing but her bra and spandex shorts. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but at the moment she felt completely naked.

"Ma-"

"Not one word." She warned. Brooke wouldn't say it then, but she thought if Sam called her 'mama' one more time she would've melted and let all her anger dissipate. It was just too cute and heartwarming coming from her fourteen year old, and she needed to stick to the situation at hand, you know a boy being in her home without her permission and all.

Brooke picked up the sweatshirt that Sam was wearing during the day and some gym shorts that were laying around. She stuck her arm out towards her daughter, "Change. Now."

Sam looked at the clothes and then to her mother, but didn't make a move. Damn, why did her brain conveniently decide to break down when her mother decided to turn into the wicked witch of the west?

Brooke's hand fell off her hip in exasperation, "Would you like me to dress you too Samantha?" She all but yelled and pushed the clothes closer.

Sam's eyes widened. She looked up at her mother then shook her head. No, she definitely did not need her mom any closer to her than she already was.

"Then change. We're not leaving this room until you do."

Sam needed no more prompting and she quickly did her mother's bidding, tentatively taking the clothes from her and changing, not bothering to take her spandex shorts off.

Just as soon as she finished Brooke once again grabbed her and pulled her forward, "I can't believe you. You were just in trouble Sam!"

She walked forward with Sam in tow. Sam gulped and tried to keep pace with her mom as they moved down the stairs.

Did her mother's eyes darken? Or was that just her imagination getting the best of her? This was all a misunderstanding!

Once downstairs Lucas's glare was unmoving. Poor Jack was too afraid to put his shirt on, instead it was nervously being wrung in his hands.

"Sit down, both of you." Lucas ordered. The two teens did as they were told.

Lucas looked to Brooke. He was going to let her lead on this, as much as he wanted to strangle Jack, Brooke had walked in on them. She knew more than he did.

Brooke took a deep breath, trying not to kill her daughter.

"What the hell was that?" She said pointing upstairs, "I want nothing but the truth. Do you understand me? If I found out you two lied to me, you're not seeing each other again."

"You can't do that!" Sam yelled. It was her knee jerk reaction. Obviously Brooke hadn't done it, but the very threat drove Sam to yell.

Brooke raised her eyebrow, "Oh, I can't?"

Her voice was dangerous and Sam backed off a bit. That voice was sweet and scary at the same time time, definitely not normal. This was not what she was used to. She fidgeted in her seat and just shook her head and sniffled.

"Well then don't lie to me." Brooke said more confident than she felt, "Where the hell were your clothes?" She looked to both of them, "You two were shacked up in there!"

Sam sat up from leaning on the couch, "No we weren't! Jack was wearing a thick jacket and was hot from climbing the trellis and the heater's on which made it worse, so I told him to take off his jacket and shirt to cool off. I swear!"

Lucas's eyes narrowed angrily towards Sam. She shrunk. Maybe that wasn't the wisest thing to admit.

"You mean to tell me that you told him to take his shirt off?"

"Dad, it was hot! It didn't mean anything." Sam argued, blushing a bit.

"Then where the hell did your pants go?" Lucas said taking a step closer.

Please stay there, please stay there. Sam thought. She would die of embarrassment if her dad's hand made its way to her backside in front of Jack.

"I was wearing shorts under." Sam retorted almost angrily. She couldn't believe them. Did they really think they were trying to have sex?

"Ha!" Brooke scoffed, "I'd hardly call those shorts."

Sam sat up straighter. None of this would've happened had Liz not asked her to freaking cheat. "God, you guys don't even know what happened! We weren't doing anything. I called Jack because I needed him! I used to do it all the time. He understands me."

Jack seemed to have gone mute throughout the whole confrontation. He was not one to try and argue. He'd let Sam do that.

"Oh so you've done this before young lady? Samantha, if you've done this in my house or in Lucas's house, so help me God you're-"

"We haven't!" Jack piped up.

Both parents and Sam turned to him. Sam was glad she didn't have to lie to them about that. Well, technically she hadn't, Jack did.

"This is the first time." He said more quietly, "Here with you guys I mean. it was my first time here."

Lucas went over and secured a hand onto the armrest that was next to Jack, he bent down intimidatingly in front of his face, "Little boy. If I ever catch you doing this again."

"Luke, leave him alone! I told him to come. He was trying to make me feel better!" Sam pleaded. She was about to move from her spot but Brooke put a hand on her shoulder, "Don't you dare." She told her.

Luke looked at her daughter with a hard glare for a second then back at Jack to continue his intimidation, "I don't give a damn what your intentions are. Whether or not you're trying to help my daughter, you don't do it up in her room. You come through that door. You greet Brooke, then she or I will call Sam for you."

"It won't happen again." Jack said not daring to look at Luke. Too late. Luke lifted his chin up. Holy fuck, this man's eyes were terrifying when he was mad.

"Look me in the eyes like a man and say it." Lucas seethed.

"I-I won't do it again...sir." Jack said unsteadily.

Luke stood back up and caught Sam's stare, "And you, you knew this was wrong."

Sam wouldn't let them have this one. They didn't understand why she was upset. She had to talk to someone, and it couldn't be them. "You guys don't understand!" She pleaded, "He was helping me. I needed someone to hold me. Don't you get that?" Tears now pricked at her eyes, "I just needed someone to tell me it was gonna be okay, and Jack does it every single time. Ever since I was seven, and, and you can't take that from me! You can't." She looked to Brooke with such a defeated glare that it began to melt the angry woman's exterior. The hand that was perched on her hip slipped off. By now, both parents knew the kids had no crazy ideas up their sleeves while up there.

"We weren't trying to do anything bad. I-I swear. I just wanted him to hold me. I needed someone to do that. I was mad and I needed him." Sam repeated once more, and each time it pierced at Brooke and Lucas. They would've gladly held her and rocked her. It didn't matter that she was in trouble for her behavior at school, they still would've loved her up. Did she not know that?

Brooke sighed, "Samantha, I'm sorry that you're upset. And I'm sorry that you feel you couldn't come to us so that we could hold you. I hope you know that we would've gladly done that, regardless of how your dad and I are feeling, we will always hold you. But you know the rules. We made that perfectly clear. Why didn't you talk to us?"

Seriously, if she would just talk to them, they wouldn't be in this predicament. Clearly this was bigger than Sam being willful. She was hiding something, and they couldn't quite put their finger on it.

"Because," Sam's voice was watery, "You wouldn't understand. I-I can't tell you." She said dejectedly through tears. She really couldn't. She would never do that to Liz, and it was a helpless feeling when she just wanted her mom and dad to not be mad at her.

"But you can tell him?" Lucas asked. Their anger clearly subsided at their daughter's emotions.

Sam just nodded and looked away, "Don't make him stay away from me." She spoke quietly.

"We won't." Brooke assured her, although Lucas refused to acknowledge the question. If he had his way, no boys would be near his little girl, like, ever.

"And we understand that you're used to doing things differently, but in this house and Lucas's house we don't take boys upstairs. And we definitely don't dress the way I found you around each other." Brooke added, then looked to Jack, "That goes to both of you."

Sam looked down and fidgeted in her seat. Jack wasn't just some boy, but whatever, and for pete's sake she was wearing shorts!

"You need to tell us what's wrong with you, so we can help you Sam." Lucas added, "Why were you so defiant with Haley, then brought that same attitude home. What happened?"

Sam sighed and refused to meet their eyes. They waited for her to say something, but nothing came. "Sammy?" Lucas said more gently.

"It's nothing. Can we be done already? Can you just punish me?" Her voice was almost sad, and they took note of it.

Brooke looked at Jack, who was thoroughly embarrassed and uncomfortable, "Jack put your shirt on, Lucas will take you home."

Jack looked at Lucas's evil smile, "I'll take the bus." He murmured as he slipped on his shirt and jacket.

Lucas grabbed his arm, "Oh no. I'll take you home."

Jack knew that look, that was not a good look. He was about give Sam a hug, but felt Lucas's hand grip him once more,

"No." He warned the boy.

Jack sighed, "Bye Sammy." He said softly.

Sam stood up in defiance to her father's overprotectiveness and gave Jack a hug, "Bye Jack."

She sat back down avoiding her father's certain glare coming ehr way.

Brooke and Lucas communicated silently. Brooke gave him a weary smile, and understood she'd try to get through to Sam while he took Jack home. Sam was really upset about something and it was affecting her in more ways than one, they just knew it.

Brooke sighed, as she thought back to the morning and how she naively believed that it would be an easy day. Oh how fast things change when you have children.

She watched the door begin to close and saw a frightened Jack give her one last look. She hardened her features but let herself smirk despite herself once he was out of sight. That kid was hilarious. Lucas won't hurt you Jack, just scare you. No worries.

She turned towards her daughter but saw Sam already halfway up the stairs.

"No m'am. You come back down and sit on this couch." Brooke said crossing her arms.

Sam froze and turned to face her mother, "Am I grounded Brooke?" Her ask was soft. Brooke almost wished Sam would fight her; anything was better than the sound of her daughter's sadness.

"We're not done talking." Brooke said avoiding the question. She honestly didn't want to ground her for this. She was livid when she saw the pair, but understood there were some habits that died hard. Well at least this was the first time they'd done it since Sam moved in. She hoped.

Brooke changed tactics and softened her tone, "Come down sweetheart. Let's talk about today at school."

Sam bit her lip but agreed not wanting to poke any types of bears. There was enough of that done today, but how the hell was she going to explain her behavior? She couldn't say a word about the cheating, and she couldn't tell Brooke about Ashley. Hell would freeze over before she let her parents know that she was being bullied. Only losers got bullied, and they were definitely not losers in high school. How embarrassing would that be for the two star studded parents she had?

Sam sat down and gave her mother what she thought were subtle glances. Brooke sat down next to Sam, turngin her body towards her.

"Talk to me Sam." She said encouragingly.

Sam just shook her head, "Nothing happened. I just got mad. I've just, I was feeling overwhelmed."

Yes, that would work. She was feeling overwhelmed, she just wouldn't say why.

Brooke was about to put an arm around Sam but Sam shrunk away. Brooke frowned at her daughter's slight.

"Why were you feeling overwhelmed? Was the test hard?"

Sam shrugged but her tears betrayed her. She sniffled twice, "No it wasn't. I just…I dunno."

Brooke gently lifted Sam's chin so they could meet stares, "Sweetheart, if you don't tell me what happened, then dad and me can just go off of what we know."

Sam's lip started to quiver and fat tears slipped down her cheeks that meant this wasn't going to end well for her because on paper all of this was her fault.

Brooke hoped that gentle threat would work, but still nothing.

"And what we know is that you acted up in school, disrespected Haley, then did the same with dad and me once we got home, then you still brought a boy over."

She saw Sam ready to protest and stopped before the whine came out, "And I understand that you needed Jack, but you're not telling me why you needed him, and feeling overwhelmed is not a good enough reason. You could've talked to us. There's something going on in your pretty little head, and you're not telling us."

Sam brought her knees up, a very familiar position for her. She felt safe. This was how she comforted herself when she had nobody else.

Brooke pushed back her desire to cry along with her daughter, "Sammy we just want to help you. I can't help you if you don't tell me what's wrong." If her girl would just open up everything would be so much easier. Brooke wondered if all teenagers were like this.

Sam just hugged herself harder and turned away from her mother and focused her attention on the stairs.

Brooke sighed. Sam wasn't going to be talking anytime soon. "Okay, you're grounded for a week. No Southside and no staying after school."

Brooke found that today being bad cop was absolutely horrible. Her daughter looked so vulnerable hugging her knees and silently letting tears fall while she sniffled.

"Sammy?"

Sam looked up at her mom, "Mom, I'm sorry." She answered without a fight.

Welp, there went her chances of performing at the rally...But she really was sorry, for Jack, and for ever humoring Liz's dumb favor. This whole day just needed to end.

Brooke leaned in and kissed Sam's forehead, "I love you sweetheart."

Sam felt herself almost break down at her mom's kind words. Even when they were mad, Brooke and Lucas made sure to assure her.

She gave her mom a nod, "I love you too." She whispered.

Sam then got up without another word, not a protest, whine, or eye roll. She didn't let Brooke react to her words, she needed to get to her room. She just felt so…misunderstood? Angry? Who knows what the emotion was, but she just wanted to be alone.

Brooke watched her go and felt her heart break a little for her baby girl. She knew Sam needed to be punished, but sometimes it was just so hard. She'd bring her girl dinner in a bit and maybe Sam would be less sullen.

By the time Lucas got back it was already ten at night. He found Brooke in the kitchen scrolling through a magazine.

"Hey." He said tiredly.

She put the magazine down and waited for him to sit and breathe for a sec, "You didn't kill him, did you?"
"No." He said with a smirk, "I didn't kill him. Just threatened...mildly."

Brooke was amused, "Well don't kill her either."

He frowned now thinking back to Sam, "Did you talk to her? What's going on?"
She gave him a slight sigh, "She refused to talk. And when I told her she was grounded for the week she didn't even argue."

She went over and sat on the stool next to him leaning into his side. He smiled at her and maneuvered both of them so his arm was around her, "She'll be okay. Maybe it's nothing." He kissed her temple and she smiled at his touch.

But Brooke didn't believe that for a minute, "Yeah, and maybe it's something." She murmured.

They stayed like that for a while. Both in their own thoughts, although both their thoughts went out to their daughter.

"We should deadbolt her windows." Lucas finally broke the comfortable silence.

Brooke wasn't sure if he was serious, "You're joking, right?"

His silence made her lift her head up, "Lucas!" She scolded, "No!"

"What?" He said confused, "It's just a suggestion. I can't have boys all over her. I can't have that. It'll just kill me slowly." He ran a hand through his hair getting anxious just thinking about it.

Brooke rolled her eyes. Lucas wasn't one to be dramatic, but apparently Sam really let that part of him shine through, "Calm down killer." She joked, "We don't need to go locking her up. Not yet at least."

Lucas turned her whole body towards Brooke and then pulled her from her seat towards him. She yelped not expecting the move but gladly took a seat on his lap.

"Let's hope it's the last time I find a boy in her room."

Brooke gave him an evil smile, "It won't be."

He groaned, "Don't curse it Brooke!"

"I think I remember a particular boy in my room a couple times, and I think i even went over to his house. He was a basketball player and was such a damn brooder."

Lucas frowned, "She's not like us. Hell will freeze over before-"
She put a finger to his lips, "She's not like us. I agree, Sam's better than we were."

He let her ease his worries.

Brooke stared at the worried father then leaned her head in to give him a long kiss which he gladly took. "I love your kisses." He smirked.

"Oh shut up." She said giving him another.

When they finally let go of one another and Brooke got off of him he looked back up the stairs, "Do you think she's asleep? I want to go at least say goodnight if she's not up for talking."

Brooke started the water to wash some dishes, "I brought her some food. She didn't say much, just thank you. But you can try if she's awake."

Luke nodded then went up the stairs towards Sam's room. He opened it and was surprised to see an empty room.

"Sam?" He asked stepping into the room. He looked around and the whole thing felt eerie. Did Sam's room look different? Was "Sammy" always scrawled on the top her bed with wooden letters, or maybe her and Brooke just added that?

The bedspread was different too, or maybe he just never noticed it. He shrugged it off and went downstairs in search of Brooke. Why wasn't he as nervous about this as he should be? I mean, his daughter was missing!...right?

"Hey Brooke!" He called as he got to the living room. Brooke made her way out of her office, "Luke, I know baby, alright. I shouldn't worry." She started not missing a beat, but giving Luke some serious whiplash at the change of pace.

"It's just it's her first time at a sleepover and I know it's long overdue. I mean she's eleven years old but it's just so hard because she's our baby and-"

Lucas stopped her, "Babe, babe." He didn't know why everything muttered out of Brooke's mouth felt so normal. Sam was eleven, when did that happen?

"It's okay. She's coming home soon. She'll be here in a few hours, and she'll tell us all about her sleepover and day with her friends, and you'll see she'll still be our baby." He answered her soothingly.

He held Brooke close and she relaxed into him, "I love you."

Lucas smiled, "I love you too."

He looked at his hands and realized he had a wedding band on. What world had he stepped into?

Then it was like time sped up and the door was flung open by an overjoyed Sam. She looked smaller to Luke. She looked like the pictures that Ms. Thrice had sent over when she was ten and eleven. Her hair was in a braid and she was wearing light blue/grey cotton shorts, and a tshirt with minnie mouse in the middle, but she was still wearing her converse, though they were much cleaner. This was definitely an outfit that 14 year old Sam would not approve of.

"Daddy!" She said dropping her things and jumping into his arms. She wrapped her legs around him tightly, and he squeezed her even smaller than usual frame, "Hi peanut." He said giving her a kiss.

The blonde woman in front of them gave the two parents a smile, "She had lots of fun with us. Let's do this again soon."

Brooke nodded, "Of course. Thank you for bringing her back."

"She was a delight. I've got to get going. Thanks again. Bye Sammy." The woman said.

Sam was now perched on Lucas's hip, "Bye Ms. Linsen!"

Brooke closed the door and then stared at her daughter playfully, "No hug for me?"

Sam squirmed and Lucas put her down so she could give her mama a big hug, "I missed you honeybunch." Brooke said.

Sam got out from her mother's embrace and picked up her stuff. "Do you guys wanna hear about my day today? It was so much fun! I can't wait to have a sleep over here. We can have one here, right mom? Come on, I wanna tell you guys all about it!"
Brooke and Lucas smiled at each other then made their way up the stairs to where Sam had skipped off too.

Once in the room both parents sat on the bed and watched as Sam put away her things. Lucas looked at the clock and noticed it was eight o' clock, now close to her bedtime.

"Put your things away and then it's time to get ready for bed, okay baby?" Lucas said without a second thought.

Sam sighed dramatically, "Erica Smith doesn't have to go to bed until midnight! She said so herself yesterday at the sleepover. Why can't I stay awake until midnight?"

Brooke sighed, "Erica Smith isn't our kid. You are, and you go to bed at 9:00 and that's final." She doubted that this girl stayed up that late anyways.

Sam closed the dresser a bit harshly, "I'm not a baby." She muttered, "I turned eleven last week!"

"We know you're not." Lucas said attempting to calm her creeping temper, "But it's our rule."

Sam took out her dirty clothes and put them in the hamper, "Erica Smith has a boyfriend too you know." She said to prove that being eleven meant being grown up.

Lucas's heart almost stopped right then.

"Oh?" Brooke said humoring her daughter. Who knows what she was trying to get at with that.

"Yeah, and she said that the rest of us were babies because we don't have a boyfriend, and she said I dressed like a baby too." Sam frowned and looked down at her attire, "I hate this shirt." She said pathetically (actually she loved her minnie mouse shirt), then looked to her mother with her big blue eyes, "Mama can we go shopping for new clothes? Like the clothes that you make! They're so cool and I'm big now!"

Lucas saw Brooke's face fall and emotion overcome his wife.

"Sam you love that shirt." Brooke pointed out, "And I don't think your clothes are for babies. I make clothes for a living, so I should know." Brooke said in a sad attempt to keep her daughter little forever.

Both Lucas and Brooke thought Sammy looked absolutely adorable in her clothing and wouldn't have it any other way.

He grabbed Brooke's hand and squeezed it.

Sam huffed, it seems her parents didn't understand her at all, "Please mama, please?" She pleaded, "I'm gonna be in middle school next year!"

Brooke frowned, "We'll look around later this week, I promise."
Sam smiled brightly, "And you guys know Scottie, well Erica said he likes me."
Lucas didn't know Scottie, but he knew he now hated him, "No." He said out of instinct.

Brooke and Sam both stared at him, "Huh?" Sam said.

Lucas shook it off, "Nothing, what, what about Scottie?"

She shrugged, "I don't know. Erica said he likes me. Maybe he should be my boyfriend."
"No boyfriend." Both Lucas and Brooke said. Sam frowned, "But we won't do anything besides hold hands." She argued.

"No little lady." Lucas said definitively, "Not until a very long time."

Sam rolled her eyes but wouldn't fight that one. At least she was getting new clothes!

At the bottom of her bag she saw Barry the bear and her blanket. She frowned. Erica saw the bear and made fun of her for it so she didn't take it back out. She picked them up and handed them to her dad, "Dad there's a drive at the high school, right? I wanna donate them."

Lucas was shocked. He held the blanket and the bear in his hands. Brooke could already see her daughter just slipping away from the safety of their arms.

"Sam you want to give Barry and Blankie away?" He asked quietly. Sam blushed at the childish nicknames she gave her two prized possessions, "It's just a bear and a blanket." She shrugged, "I'm gonna take a shower and head to bed, I don't need you guys to tuck me in."

She kissed two stunned and emotional parents on the cheek, "Goodnight mama."

"Night dad."

The next thing Lucas knew he was already in bed holding closely to his daughter's Barry and Blankie. He turned and saw Brooke lying next him completely asleep. He sighed. Their daughter was growing up and soon enough boys would be lurking around for her. It couldn't happen. No!

Just as he was about to slip into sleep he heard whimpers coming from the next room, Sam's room. He checked to see if Brooke had stirred but she was still completely asleep. He peeled back the covers and made his way over making sure to bring the bear and blanket. He went in and found Sam rubbing her eyes and hiccuping, sitting up. Seeing her dad caused her to sob. Lucas made quick work of making his way over.

He sat down and gathered her into his lap, "What's wrong peanut?" he asked.

Sam held onto him tightly, "I-I had a nightmare. We watched a scary movie, and the man with the mask was in my dream."

Lucas rubbed her back, "Oh baby, it's okay." He cooed, "I'm here now. It was just a dream, you're safe."

Sam just nodded into his chest.

"Daddy I don't want Scottie, I want blankie and Barry. I don't want to give them up. I-I'm not ready."

Lucas stifled his smile then grabbed the two items that were behind his back. He silently placed them in front of his daughter, and she greedily picked them up.

"I'm not a little kid, I just need them." He assured him.

"I know. I know." He responded and bobbed his knee up and down to get her to relax and eventually fall back asleep."

She might be growing up, but she would alway be his little girl.

"Lucas?" He looked up and saw Brooke in Sam's doorway. He looked down and saw that Sam was half asleep. He filled Brooke in, "She had a nightmare."

"Lucas." Brooke said again.

"Brooke, I said she had a nightmare." He whispered, "Shhh. You'll wake her up."

"Lucas wake up."

"What? I am awake." Lucas finally responded opening his eyes.

Lucas felt someone shake him gently.

"Brooke?" He said sitting up, "You fell asleep on the couch." Brooke said, "It's late are you staying over?"

He sat up in a dazed confusion, "I…" He looked up at Brooke, "How old is Sam?"

"What?"

"Fourteen, right?"

Brooke nodded in agreement, "Are you okay?"

He massaged his face with his hands, "I just had the most ridiculous dream."
Brooke gave him her hand and helped him up, "Luke, you're okay right?" She had never seen him so confused.

"No yeah, yeah. I'm fine. Sorry, it's just. I got thrown off a bit. I'm good." He gave her a smile to reassure her, "Is, Is Sam asleep upstairs?"

She eyed him still a bit concerned, "Yeah, you went up there and she was already asleep, remember?"

"Right, right. It must've slipped my mind once I crashed."

She nodded, "Okay, you're staying here tonight and sleeping. You sound crazy right now."

He didn't argue. He felt crazy right now. That dream had felt so real. And just to be sure he opened Sam's room. Her name was no longer scrawled across the top. The bedding was different and Sam looked slightly older. He felt relieved, but then frowned at the thought of never getting the chance to know what Sam was like at 11 years old, or what Sam was like at 4, 7, or 9 years. How different would her life have been with Brooke and Lucas?

"Babe you coming?" Brooke asked Lucas who was staring into Sam's room.

"Yeah, I'll be right there." Luke answered lost in his thoughts.

A bit of a deviation towards the end, but yeah, Lucas's worries definitely fed into his dream. Too bad 14 year old Sam can't be as easy as 11 year old Sam. Please review! You guys are great at keeping me motivated!
