Ch 60: Round one - Begin!
It was early in the morning in the Indigo plateau and Ash was up with the others outside the Condo having breakfast.
"I still don't see why you don't stay with us at the enclave. It's nicer than the village." Korrina said.
"I'm a competitor in the Indigo league, I should stay where competitors stay." Ash said.
Beside the table, all their pokemon were sitting and eating their breakfast.
"Pika , pikachu." Pikachu said as he spoke with Ash's other pokemon.
"Cruki." Krabby said saying he hopped Ash picked him for a match today. Ash had been training especially hard with Krabby and his other pokemon he hadn't kept in rotation.
"Grauu." Charizard growled telling him that he would get to battle.
"So the first match is today, do you know when you're first match is?" Brock asked.
"Not yet, after this I was going to find that out." Ash said.
"After 4 years in the NPC even these trainers shouldn't be a challenge for you and your pokemon" Red said.
"Well technically I'm only allowed to use one of my older pokemon per match." Ash said.
"Still I'm sure by now all of your pokemon have to be very well trained." Korrina said.
"I just can't wait to see you out there today." Serena said.
"Once I find out what field I have I'll need to think carefully on who I choose." Ash said.
"With only 4 stadiums that still gives you a good idea of who you can choose. There are obvious choices for certain fields." Lucy said.
"Still I want to give my pokemon who I haven't used yet a chance to get out there." Ash said.
"Just be careful Ash, you don't want to loose out on a chance in the elite four because you chose the wrong pokemon." Clemont said.
"He'll be fine brother." Bonnie said.
"What time will Mom and dad get here?" Ash asked.
"Well the healers should have finished looking at Dad's eye last night to hopefully today." Red said.
"Is the professor here?" Lucy asked.
"He'd probably be here by now. But i'm guessing he'll look for Gary first since he's his grandson." Brock said.
After finishing breakfast, the group made their way down to the main league area and into the registration building.
Ash walked up to the counter where a young woman was standing behind the counter.
"Good morning, may I help you?" She asked.
"Yes I'm here to register for my first match today." Ash said.
"Very well, let me see your league id." She said as Ash handed her his ID he got the previous day.
She put his information in the computer and saw where and when he was battling.
"It appears you are battling today at 1:00 in the water stadium and you'll be facing a trainer named Manny." She said.
"Manny, what does he look like?" Ash said before the woman showed him a picture of none other than Manny from the day before.
"Him." Serena said as Pikachu growled.
"Who is that?" Korrina asked.
"His name is Manny, we ran into him 2 days ago on the way here. He stole all 8 of a girl's badges and hurt her Gardevoir." Brock said.
"He's arrogant and thinks he can do whatever he wants." Serena said.
Ash gave a determined look.
"I'm ready to beat that guy." Ash said.
As Ash walked from the counter he heard another voice, a familiar voice.
"Thanks Ms. , looks like I'm at the Rock stadium today Alana."
Ash turned to see Ritchie and Alana at the next counter.
"Ritchie, Alana." Ash said.
The two turned to him.
"Ash!" They almost shouted.
"I was hoping I'd see you here Ash." Ritchie said.
"It's been a long time. Guys this is Ritchie, a trainer we met the same day we met Lucy" Ash said.
"Pika." Pikachu said smiling as he saw Sparky.
"Chu." Sparky said back.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Red Ash's brother."
"We're he's old friends from Kalos." Clemont said.
"Alana how did you meet Ritchie?" Serena asked.
"Our condos are next to each other and we hung out last night. " Alana said.
"She told me what you did the other day. That Manny guy sounds like a creep."
"Well I'm facing him today so I will personally have the honor of knowing him out of the Indigo league. Ash said.
Alana gave a serious expression.
"Take him down." She said.
"So where are your matches today?" Ash asked.
"Mine is at 3:00 in the Rock field." Ritchie said.
"Mine is at 2:00 in the Grass field." Alana said.
"Mine is at 1:00 at the water field."
"We should see each other's matches." Alana said.
As they walked out of the building and down the street they continued talking.
"So how did your battle frontier challenge go?" Ash asked.
"It certainly wasn't easy. I'd say the hardest one was Brandon with his Regice."
"You beat his Regice?" Lucy asked.
"It certainly wasn't easy. He beat us twice before Sparky was able to overcome him. So you and Serena got married right."
"We did." Serena said.
"I wish I could have been there for that."
"Wait I almost forgot, I left my Gardevoir at the pokemon center this morning before we left. I need to go get her" Alana said.
"I'll go with you." Ritchie said.
"Ok we'll meet up with you later."
"I'm glad Ritchie made it." Ash said.
"Me too, he's a good kid." Lucy said.
"We still have a while before Ash's match, why not get some lunch first." Red said.
"Sounds like a plan." Brock said.
As they made their way to a restaurant they heard some familiar voices.
"You're going down!"
"You wish kid." Another voice said. The group saw none other than Gary with Leaf sitting at a table with Sam in front of them.
"Sam?" Ash said.
"I remember you at my battle camp kid, I have way more experience than you." Gary said.
"I also remember beating the trainer you chose to represent you. Plus I've grown a lot since then." Sam said.
"Sam." Ash said.
Sam and Gary turned to see Ash and the group.
"Ash!" Sam shouted in excitement.
"I knew you'd make it here!" She said.
"What are you guys talking about?" Ash asked.
"Sam and Gary are arguing who's going to beat who in the Pokemon league." Leaf said sweat dropping.
"I'm gonna take him down!" Sam almost shouted.
"We'll see about that, I'm going right to the top. Of the Indigo league, then into the elite four. Before you know it I'll be champion of Kanto. Maybe I'll even replace Daniel some day." Gary said.
"Right." Ash said sarcastically.
"So Ash where's your match today?" Leaf asked.
"At the water field." Ash said.
"Water field huh, I already won my first match this morning at the Ice field." Gary said.
"You had your match already?" Serena asked.
"Yup, it was the first one of the day. After my spectacular victory, the reporters were lining up to interview me." Gary said.
"Before I made them leave." Leaf said smiling as Gary gave a sheepish look.
"I heard of this guy you're facing Ash, Manny the Oustounding. Apparently he's a favorite for a lot of people. Including some rich folk who put a lot of money on him to win the whole thing. But I also hear he's a big jerk." Gary said.
"We can attest to that." Brock said.
"You better beat this guy to show him some respect for trainers of our level. Besides I want the honor of beating you myself, and I hope it's the final round too."
"Really?" Ash asked.
"Duh, all these trainers here are small league compared to professionals like us. You're the only trainer here who will make me earn my place in the elite 4."
"We'll see about that." Ash said confidently.
"Yes we will!" Sam nearly shouted.
Ash and the others knew Gary was a bit full of himself , but he wasn't arrogant or a jerk like Manny.
"Oh by the way, the professor saw Gary's match this morning and said he'd like to see you before your match as well." Leaf said.
"Where is he?" Ash asked.
"At the main pokemon center."
"We'll meet him there after lunch." Ash said.
"Alright then, I've gotta get my pokemon to the center anyway. The line has to have died down a bit since my match ended." Gary said as he got up.
"We'll see you guys later." Leaf said.
Ash and the others got a table outside and allowed Sam to join them.
"So you're the one who beat Ash in the Kalos league 6 years ago." Sam said.
"I was." Red said smiling at Ash.
"I suppose only Ash's brother could overcome him. Still what happened after that, you basically disappeared. People said you could have gone places. Into the NPC, maybe even the elite 4 one day." Sam asked.
"I guess there was just another calling for me to follow. It might have been nice to be a professional trainer, but I don't regret choosing the life I live now." Red said as Korrina held his hand under the table.
"What badges did you collect to get here?" Serena asked.
"It wasn't easy. I had to beat the Pewter city gym, the Saffron city gym when it was opened again. The Celedon city gym, the grimy city gym, the Viridian city gym, the Fuchsia city gym, and the Sand city gym."
"Well you worked hard and you earned your way here. I'm proud of you." Ash said.
"Thanks Ash." Sam said.
"What stadium are you in today?" Brock asked.
"The Ice Stadium." Sam said.
"What time?" Lucy asked.
"5:00." Sam said.
"Late in the day then." Ash said.
"Yes, but I'm excited for my first chance to prove myself."
"Just do your best, that's what matters most." Ash said.
"I will." Sam said.
After finishing lunch, Ash and the others made their way to the pokemon center.
"Gary said the professor would be here." Ash said.
Moments later they saw Tracy sitting at a table with Professor Oak standing in front him.
"That's the last time I have chili from this place." Oak said before Tracy saw the group.
"Professor, it's Ash." He said.
Oak turned and saw the group.
"Ash my boy, there you are. I see you must have run into Gary. I saw his match, he did outstanding job. I expect no less from you."
"I'm going to do great." Ash said.
"What pokemon are you going to use?" Tracy asked.
"I'm at the water field. So I plan to use Krabby first, if he has to change out I'll choose Blastoise. Still I should probably have a non water type in there too. I think I'll have Pidgeotto in there as well, being a flying type he shouldn't be at a disadvantage in the water field." Ash said.
"A good idea. In any case we should get over there sooner rather than later." Oak said.
The group made they way to the water stadium where they found their way into the stands. There they met Ritchie, Sam , and Alana.
"This should be good, It's been too long since I've seen Ash battle." Oak said.
"I just can't wait to see him beat that jerk Manny." Alana said.
Inside the entrance tunnel, Ash was with Serena.
"This is it. My first battle in the Indigo league." Ash said.
Serena took him by the shoulders and put her right hand on his cheek.
"I know this has been your dream since you were little. It's all you talked about at summer camp. Just go out there and do what I did at the final showcase. Live it as you dreamed it."
Ash smiled.
"I will." He said before kissing her.
Serena walked back to the seats as Ash looked at Pikachu who gave a confident expression.
"Let's do this." Ash said.
"Pika!"
Ash slowly walked out to the water field and saw the crowd around him.
The field itself was a large pool of water with several small platforms floating around the pool.
Standing on the other side was none other than Manny.
"Ladies and gentlemen, our next match is the red trainer Manny against the green trainer Ash Ketchum. Anything on these trainers Robb."
"Well Stark, these are too good trainers. We have Ash Ketchum, the runner up in the Kalos league 6 years ago. He hasn't competed in a league since, but spent 4 years in the NPC. His opponent Manny is supposedly a favorite for the Indigo league this year. A lot of people are betting that he will win it all" The two announcers said.
"So we meet again. I'll teach you what happens when you cross Manny the Astounding." Manny said.
Inside the guardian enclave, Felix was in the medical area with the healer looking at his eye and mouth.
"Well Master Felix , if we keep working like we are , you're eye should return physically to normal, except it's color. Also still don't expect to see out of it again."
"I know, I've come to terms with it. I suppose I still have one eye, I could be blind, or dead." Felix said.
"I'll be back, I need some more herbs." The healer said as he walked out with his Venusaur.
Also in the room were Delia and Lucario.
"Ash's match is starting." Delia said.
"I told you to go without me." Felix said.
"I wanted to know if you were going to keep that eye or not. Besides we can still watch it live on my laptop." Delia said as she opened it and showed Felix the screen.
Back in the stadium, the ref stepped up to the side platform.
"The round 1 match is about to begin, the red and green trainers will be allowed 3 pokemon each. The first to knock out the other 3 is the winner. " The ref said.
Ash took out his first pokeball and held it up.
"I know you can do it. I choose you Krabby!" Ash shouted as Krabby came out and landed on one of the platforms.
"Kruki!" He said.
"So he is using Krabby. I still think he should have used Blastoise or Croconaw first." Clemont said.
"Ash knows what he's doing. Krabby deserves a chance to shine." Serena said.
"Come to think of it, when exactly did Ash catch Krabby. I don't remember seeing him catch him." Brock said.
"Yeah how did that happen?" Lucy asked.
"Uh well. He just uh caught him. Nothing else happened." Serena said sweat dropping, remembering the exact circumstances of how she and Ash met Krabby.
"Now for a real pokemon. Go Exeggutor."
"Exeggutor." The tree pokemon said.
"We have an Exeggutor and a Krabby Robb."
"Indeed Stark, the Krabby will have the advantage field wise. But Exeggutor will have the advantage type wise." The two announcers said.
"Begin." The ref said as Serena sat down with the rest of the group.
"Exeggutor use Psychock." Manny said.
"Krabby get into the water." Ash said.
"Kruki." Crabby said as he jumped into the water.
Manny smiled.
"Now I've got you. Exeggutor use Confusion."
"Exeggutor." Exeggutor said as all its eyes began to glow and his psychic energy formed a whirlpool in the water.
"Oh no." Clemont said.
Krabby looked around and saw the whirlpool surrounding him before he was sucked in.
"Now use Egg bomb." Manny said as his Exeggutor began launching explosive eggs around the whirlpool.
"Krabby keep changing position sin the whirlpool." Ash said.
Krabby did his best to move from one stream to another so he kept changing locations and avoided the explosions all around him.
"Look at that whirlpool Robb."
"I agree Stark, it looks as unpleasant as my uncle's wedding."
"The Exeggutor can use Confusion and Egg bomb at the same time?" Shauna said.
"That must be a well trained Exeggutor, I see why he's a favorite to win." Brock said.
"Ash has gotten out of far worse than this." Red said.
As Krabby kept changing positions he eventually found himself at the top of the whirlpool. As soon as he did he leapt out and at Exeggutor.
"No you don't , Exeggutor use Psychock!" Manny shouted.
"Exeggutor!" Exeggutor shouted as he blasted Krabby and hurled him back into the whirlpool.
Ash and Pikachu grit their teeth upon seeing this.
"Astounding folks, the Krabby escaped only to be knocked back in. This doesn't look good for the green trainer."
"I was afraid of this, Krabby is too young." Clemont said.
"Don't count him out yet." Serena said as she gave a determined look.
Ash knew he had to think of something or Krabby wouldn't last. That is when he had an idea.
"That could work. Krabby jump into an area just after an explosion." Ash said.
Krabby waited for an explosion then leapt into the broken water and found himself underwater outside the whirlpool.
He swam away and under the platform Exeggutor was on.
"Krabby use Vicegrip!" Ash shouted as Krabby leapt out of the water from behind Exeggutor and latched his claws onto the top of Exeggutor.
"What?" Manny said.
"Look at that folks, Krabby got out and is now on the attack." The second announcer said.
"Exeggutor use Hypnosis."
"Leer and change position!" Ash shouted.
Exeggutor tried to use Hypnosis but before he could was hit by Leer and temporarily stunned as his defenses were lowered.
Krabby then leapt onto another part of Exeggutor's head and latched on with vice grip.
"That's it Ash!" Red shouted.
"Leer!" Ash shouted as Krabby's eyes glowed white and he lowered Exeggutor's defenses again.
"Stomp!" Ash shouted.
"Kruki!" Krabby shouted as he smashed his foot into Exeggcutor's faces as he hurled him into the ground.
"Tor." The tree pokemon said as it passed out.
"Exeggutor is unable to battle." The ref said.
"Alright Krabby." Ash said.
"Pika!"
"Astounding folks, Krabby has come from hind for the win." The first announcer said.
"Looks like I was wrong." Clemont said.
Alana smiled upon seeing Manny loose his first part of the match.
Moments later Krabby started to glow white and grow bigger.
"What?" Manny said as he and the crowd saw Krabby complete his evolution. When he stopped he was now a massive crack with a massive left claw.
"Kruki!" He said much louder.
"What is that?" Serena said opening her pokedex.
"Kingler the evolved form of Krabby. A pincer pokemon whose claws can punch with the power of 10,000 horsepower."
"Alright Kingler, want to stay in?" Ash asked.
"Kruki!" Kingler said confidently.
"Hmp a stroke of luck, but his luck's run out. Go Crobat!" Manny shouted as he sent out the violet bat and it flew over the water.
"Looks Like Manny's next pokemon is a Crobat folks, this could be bad for the green trainer"
"A Crobat, this will put Kingler at a disadvantage tepees and Crobat can fly which means the water won't inhibit him." Brock said.
"Crobat is a viscous pokemon, but Kingler are deadly in the water. If Kingler can get him in the water it could be the win." Oak said.
"Crobat use Air slash."
"Kingler dive in." Ash said as Kingler dove into the water.
"Hmp, that won't save you Crobat use Haze."
Crobat opened his mouth and let out a thick icy mist over the water.
"Kingler stay close to the water's edge."
Kingler kept his claw near the surface until he saw Crobat's shadow fly over him.
"Vice grip." Ash shouted as Kingler leapt out of the water and clamped onto Crobat only to have him vanish.
"What?" Ash said as Manny smiled.
"Arial ace." the real Crobat quickly flew through the air and slashed across Kingler , forcing him further up into the air.
"How did he do that?" Alana asked.
"He must have used double team." Ritchie said.
"Astounding folks, Crobat has taken Kingler out of the water."
"Giga impact."
Crobat glowed red as he flew at Kingler and crashed into him , hurling Kingler into one of the platforms, nearly breaking it.
"Kingler, stay down." Ash said.
"What? Serena and the others said.
"Why is he telling him to stay down?" Brock asked.
"That's not like Ash." Red said.
"Giving up I see, wise choice. But there's no escape from Manny the Astounding. Another giga impact."
After Crobat recharged, he flew glowed red again and flew right at Kingler.
Ash waited until Crobat was within arm's reach.
"Kingler Guillotine!" Ash shouted.
Kingler opened his eyes and snapped his massive claw around Crobat and clamped down on him with the force of 10,000 horsepower.
"Kruki!" Kingler growled as he clamped down as hard as he could.
"Oh no!" Manny shouted.
Kingler opened his claw and let Crobat fall onto the platform in front of him.
"Crobat is unable to battle." The ref said.
"Unbelievable Stark, he got him with a one hit KO." The second announcer said.
"Alright Ash!" Serena and Alana shouted.
"Ha ha, that brilliant boy." Oak said.
"I don't get it." Shauna said.
"I do. You see Guillotine is a one kit KO move, but it is very hard to land. So Ash let Crobat get close to him and pretended has more hurt than he really was so he could be within arms reach, then he could get him easily. That's my little brother." Red said.
"Well folks it looks like Manny, a favorite for the win is now down to one pokemon while trainer Ash Ketchum still has all 3 of his." The first announcer said as Manny tightened his grip.
"Crobat return. This isn't over yet, I still have the ace of my team and he'll get me the win." Manny said as he threw his last pokeball.
Ash and PIkachu's eyes widened as hey saw a large Kingdra come out and gave Kingler a very intimidating look.
"Manny has sent out his most powerful pokemon. This could be what he needs to turn it around." The second announcer said.
"This Kingdra is suppose to be Manny's most powerful pokemon. Ash and Kingler will have their work cut out for them." Ritchie said.
"Kingler has already knocked out 2 of Manny's pokemon. He can get this one too." Alana said.
"Kingdra swim under the water and use agility."
Ash and Kingler saw Kingdra swim under water with incredible speed.
Seeing the Kindra move that fast underwater made Ash nervous about sending Kingler underwater. Still he was a water pokemon and would have a better chance if he was in the water.
"Kingler get into the water." Ash said.
"Kruki!" Kingler shouted as he leapt in and saw Kingdra under the water moving incredibly fast.
"Kingdra use Twister."
The Kingdra unleashed a massive tornado of dragon energy into the water that moved towards Kingler.
Kingler did his best to avoid it, but the twister was moving too fast and hit him dead on. The force of the twister hurled Kingler up and out of the water.
Kingler landed back in the water and tried to shake off the attack.
"Kingdra use Dragon pulse."
"Kingler use Hyperbeam!".
"Kruki!" Kingler shouted as he aimed his massive claw and unleashed a massive beam of energy right into the incoming Dragon pulse.
Despite all the power behind the Dragon pulse, the Hyperbeam tore through it and continued on towards Kingdra.
"Kingdra move."
Kingdra used his speed to move under the water as Kingler recharged.
"Now use Dragon Pulse." .
Kingdra blasted Kingler from underneath him and hurled him out of the water.
"That's one fast Kingdra." Korrina said.
"Kingler just isn't that fast. But if he can land a hit, then it could turn the match around." Oak said.
"I need to slow him down. Kingler use Mud shot around him."
Kingler opened his mouth and unleashed several blasts of mud into the water around Kingler.
When Kingler landed he began swimming towards Kingdra.
"Crab hammer." Ash said.
"Kingdra use agility to avoid it." Kingdra tried to move through the muddy water, but it was harder for him to move through the mud.
"Oh no." Manny said.
Kingler moved more easily through the mud and smashed his claw into Kingdra , hurling him back and out of the water.
"He got him." Clemont said.
"This could be it." Alana said.
"We won't loose so easily, Kingdra use double team."
When Kingdra landed in the water, he made a dozen copies of himself and surrounded Kingler.
"Now use rest." Manny said.
All of the Kingdras closed their eyes and began glowing pink as they healed themselves.
"That's not good." Ash said as Pikachu sweat dropped.
"If Kingdra completes rest he'll be completely healed." Oak said.
"Hurry Kingler while he's sleeping!" Serena shouted.
"Kingler use Crabhammer" Ash said as Kingler unleashed his claw onto the water and unleashed a wave around him that crashed into the copies, destroying them all.
Kingler looked around, however, but all the Kingdra were gone.
"Where is he?" Ash said.
Moments later, the now fully healed Kingdra came up right in front of Kingler.
"Kingdra use swagger."
Kingdra's eyes glowed red as he confused Kingler while also raising his attack.
"Kruki." Kingler said as his head rolled around and his eyes became swirly.
"Kingdra is back and Kingler is confused!" The first announcer shouted.
"If Kingler accidentally hits himself after swagger, it could knock him out." Red said.
"But if he lands a hit, he could knock Kingdra out." Alana said.
Serena gave a concerned look.
"Ash won't do it, he won't risk hurting his own pokemon." Serena said.
"Kingler return." Ash said as he returned Kingler.
"You battled grate, I'm proud of you." Ash said as he took out another pokeball.
"I choose you Blastoise!" Ash shouted.
Blastoise came out and landed in on one of the platforms giving a very intimidating expression.
"The blue trainer has chosen a Blastoise."
"Blastoise, now this is getting interesting." Brock said.
"Now we have them on the run, Kingdra use Double team."
Kingdra surrounded Blastoise with copies of himself.
"Blastoise use Surf." Ash said.
Blastoise leapt into the water and created a massive wave all around him that smashed into all of the copies.
"Kingdra use Swagger."
Kingdra popped up, but Blastoise was gone.
"What is this?" Manny said.
"Rapid spin" Ash said.
Before Kingdra could even get back in the water, he was smashed in the stomach by Blastoise's shell and hurled back.
"Woah, Blastoise moved like lightening under the water." Red said.
"Amazing folks, he has moved faster under the water than even Kingdra." The second announcer said.
"No! No one is faster than Manny's Kingdra. Kingdra use Agility and Dragon Pulse!" Manny shouted.
"Blastoise Dodge and use Skull Bash." Ash said. Kingdra tried to increase his speed and unleashed a pulse of dragon energy, only to have Blastoise move even faster in the water than Kingdra and easily avoid the incoming Dragon pulse before aiming his head and launching himself right into Kingdra's stomach, hurling him up and out of the water again.
"Amazing folks, Blastoise has both speed and power."
"Right you are Stark, right you are."
"Blastoise is doing it!" Serena shouted.
"Finish him!" Alana shouted.
"I refuse to lose. Kingdra use Outrage!"
"Dra!" Kingdra roared as he unleashed a furry of dragon energy at Blastoise in and out of the water.
"Blastoise use Iron defense into Skull Bash!" Ash shouted.
Blastoise turned his shell metal as he raised his defenses extensively. He the lowered his head and launched himself right at Kingdra.
With Iron defense, Blastoise was able to absorb any burst of dragon energy that hit him without slowing down.
Manny's eyes widened as Blastoise slammed into Kingdra's stomach and hurled him out of the water only to have him crash land on top of a platform with swirly eyes.
"Kingdra!"'
"Kingdra is unable to battle, the winner is the green trainer." The ref said before the crowd let out a massive applause.
"He did it!" Korrina shouted.
"Well done my boy, well done" Oak said.
"Alright Ash!" Red shouted.
"He was amazing." Serena said.
Ritchie could see the look of satisfaction on Alana's face watching Manny loose in the first round.
"It's over folks, the green trainer Ash Ketchum has defeated favorite Manny in the first round and now moves onto the next round."
Elsewhere int he guardian enclave, Felix and Delia saw Ash win.
"He did it!" Delia said.
"He did." Felix said.
"Alright , round one is done." Ash said before he let Kingler back out.
"We did it Kingler, we won." Ash said.
"Kruki!" Kingler said before they were joined by Blastoise.
"You guys did great out there. I'm proud of you both." Ash said before the two piled on him trying to hug him.
Manny fell to his knees.
"But, I'm Manny the astounding. I can't loose in the first round." He said.
Ash went right to the pokemon center after leaving the stadium to avoid the line backup.
"Can I help you." Nurse Joy asked.
"I need you to look at my Kingler and Blastoise." Ash said as he put their pokeballs on the counter.
"No problem, I'll get on them as soon as I can." Nurse Joy said before she walked off with Chansey behind her.
"So I see you won yer first match." Ash heard.
He turned to see Gary and Leaf standing there.
"We say you on one of the tvs in here. You did great , your Kingler and Blastoise were awesome." Leaf said.
"Yeah they did pretty good. Not as good as my Kingler and Blastoise, but you certainly put that little prick in his place." Gary said.
"Thanks, but don't underestimate my pokemon Gary." Ash said as they both smiled competitively.
A few minutes later he was joined by the others except Alana and Ritchie.
"There you are ." Serena said.
"Oh sorry guys, I guess I wanted to get here before the crowd." Ash said as he and Pikachu sweat dropped.
"It's ok, we understand." Red said as they sat down.
"Where are Ritchie and Alana?" Ash asked.
"Alana had to get ready for her match and Ritchie went with her." Korrina said.
"So you and Gary have found each other again. I'm impressed, you both performed exceptionally well today. Keep up effort like this and you'll both find yourselves in the finals." Oak said.
"I can't wait to get to the Indigo stadium." Ash said.
"Me too." Gary said.
"Don't forget, you have 3 more battles to win before you get there." Red said.
"Eh those guys are just warm ups. I'm looking forward to real trainers, like you Ash." Gary said.
"Just don't get knocked out before then." Ash said.
Later that night after watching Alana, Ritchie, and Sam win their matches, Ash and Serena made their way back to their condo.
Now that Lucy was with them, Brock stayed with her at a hotel. Despite Korrina lecturing Korrina on staying at the enclave.
Pikachu was fast asleep with some of the other pokemon in the main living room of the condo on the couch.
Inside the main bedroom , Ash was laying on the bed in his black shorts looking at his gold metal from the Kalos league 5 years prior.
A few moments later, Serena came out of the bathroom in her black bra and panties before laying down beside Ash.
"Is that your metal from the Kalos league?" Serena asked.
"My gold metal , for second place ironically." Ash said.
"Well platinum is more valuable than gold." Serena said smiling.
"I suppose." Ash said.
"It is nice seeing everyone here again. Korrina is definitely getting antsy with Red." Serena said.
"Can't imagine why. " Ash said sarcastically.
Serena smiled again.
"Well we aren't restricted in that way anymore." Serena said.
Ash smiled as he put the medal down and pulled Serena into his arms.
A few moments later her bra and panties were dropped over the side of the bed along with Ash's boxers.
Serena was now over Ash kissing him as he pulled her closer by her rump.

So round 1 is over.
Expect the chapters to be like the anime until we get to the Indigo stadium. That is also where you'll see more fan submitted OCs.
So try to submit any remaining OC's by then.
Sorry if you wanted to see Kingler knock out all of Manny's pokemon, but I had to include Blastoise in the water field.
