ch 62: Round 4 rumble

It was 11:00 in the morning and Ash was sitting beside Serena and the others in the Rock stadium as they watched Gary in his 4th round match.

Gary had knocked out two of his opponent's pokemon with his Nidoking.

Gary was on the red platform with Nidoking in front of him.

Across the field his opponent had a Golem.

"Trainer Gary Oak's Nidoking has knocked out two of Melissa's pokemon. It's all up to her Golem now." The announcer said.

"All Gary has to do is knock out this Golem he has the win." Clemont said.

"Nidoking has to be getting tired by this point. He has taken a lot of hits." Lucy said.

"Nidoking Horn attack!" Gary shouted.

His Nidoking lowered his horn and hurled himself at Golem.

"Golem brace yourself." Melissa said.

Just before Nidoking could hit Golem, the rock giant grabbed him by his horn and held him in place.

"Look at that folks, now Golem has Nidoking." The second announcer said.

"That can't be good." Shauna said.

That was when Ash noticed Gary smiling.

"Now I've got you, Nidoking grab her arms!" Gary shouted.

With Golem's arms on Nidoking's horn, she could not stop Nidoking from grabbing her arms and holding them in place.

"How about that folks, Gary has turned it around on Melissa."

"Nidoking use Earth Power!"

"King!" Nidoking roared as he unleashed a powerful blast of seismic energy right into Golem, hurling him back and crashing him Melissa's platform, making her nearly fall off.

When Golem rolled back onto the ground she had swirly eyes.

"Golem is unable to battle, the winner is Gary Oak." The first announcer said.

"Ha ha! We did it, onto the Indigo Stadium and the elite 4." Gary said as his Nidoking roared.

"He won!" Leaf said.

"This means he's made it into the Indigo stadium." Oak said.

"Now I just have to get there." Ash said as he and Pikachu stared down at Gary.

After the battle, Ash and the others met back up at Ash the pokemon center.

Ash, Serena, Oak, Leaf , and Gary sat at the same table with the others sitting at another.

" Great job out there Gary, you're in the Indigo stadium now." Leaf said.

"I made it father than I did last time I did the Indigo league."

"I'm proud of you Gary, your Nidoking performed outstanding and you used good tactics." Oak said.

Gary turned to Ash.

"You still have one more match before the Indigo stadium. You better not loose before you face me." Gary said.

"Don't you worry about me Gary. Just worry about what happens when you end up facing me." Ash said.

"Just you wait Ashey boy." Gary said.

"By the way Ash, what time is your match today?" Leaf asked.

"2:00 in the grass stadium." Ash said.

"Who might you be using?" Oak asked.

"Butterfree is my first choice, then maybe Pidgeotto." Ash said.

"Both good choices. I look forward to seeing the match." Oak said.

Later that day, Ash stood on his end of the Grass field with Pikachu on his shoulder.

Sitting in the crowd was Oak, Serena, Shauna, Clemont, Bonnie, Brock, Red, Korrina, Gary, and Leaf.

"Well folks we have too great trainers here today, but only one will move on to the Indigo stadium. We have Ash Ketchum of Pallet town. Ash defeated the favorite for the win in the first round and now he's about to face another favorite for the win. Jeanette Fischer of Crimson city!" The announcer shouted as a young woman with light skin, blueish green eyes , dark purple hair with a large yellow blow on her head. She also wore an eastern style robe as another young man threw flower petals over her.

When she reached her side of the grass field she smiled confidently.

"I am honored" she said.

Across the stadium, an entire section of girls in cheerleader outfits and some young men in karate attire began shouting.

"Jeannette , Jeannette, she's the greatest trainer yet!" They all shouted.

"She has her own cheering section?" Korrina said sweat dropping.

"Geeze who would actually have a bunch of cheerleaders following them around." Gary said as Leaf starred at him.

"Don't say it." Gary said.

"The battle between trainer Ash Ketchum and Jeannette Fisher is about to begin. Trainers , choose your pokemon. " The ref said.

Jeannette took out her first pokeball and threw it forward.

"Go Beedrill!" Jeannette shouted as a Beedrill came out and flew over Jeannette.

Ash took out one of his own pokeballs.

"I choose you, Butterfree!" Ash shouted as Butterfree came out of his pokeball and flew over Ash.

"The red trainer has chosen a Beedrill and the green trainer has chosen a Butterfree." The announcer said.

"Beedrill use Pin missile!"

"Buzz!" Beedrill buzzed as he aimed his pincers and unleashed a series of spikes bug missiles at Butterfree.

"Butterfree use Gust." Ash said.

"Free!" Butterfree shouted as he unleashed a powerful just of wind that easily knocked away the incoming pin missiles before the gust of wind continued forward and hit Beedrill.

"It looks like Jeannette's Pin missile has been simply blown away by Butterfree." The announcer said.

"Beedrill use Agility with Fury attack." Jeannette said as Beedrill increased his speed around Butterfree and began furiously lunging at him with his pincers.

"Butterfree use Confusion." Ash said as Butterfree's eyes glowed blue and he held back Beedrill's pincers with psychic energy before hurling him back.

"Alright great work Butterfree." Ash said.

"Butterfree is doing well." Oak said.

"Beedrill use Pin Missile with Agility." Jeannette said as Beedrill increased his speed and flew around Butterfree and unleashed a series of pin missiles.

"Butterfree confusion!" Ash shouted.

"Free!" Butterfree shouted as he used confusion to stop the Missiles in their tracks.

"Poison Jab!" Jeannette shouted as Beedrill flew past all the held in place Pin Missiles.

Butterfree turned just in time to see Beedrill's violet pincers slam into him.

"Well folks it looks like Beedrill has gotten in his first hit." The announcer said.

"Beedrill finish him with another Poison jab!"

"Bzzz!" Beedrill buzzed as he flew right at Butterfree.

"Stun spore!" Ash shouted.

Butterfree got up and unleashed a cloud of spores through his wings that completely engulfed Beedrill.

"Bzz!" Beedrill buzzed as he held his pincers in front of him and he shook.

"Oh no." Jeannettte said.

"Butterfree use Gust!" Ash shouted as Butterfree blasted Beedrill with wind and hurled him back into the ground.

After he hit the ground, Beedrill's eyes became swirly.

"Beedrill is unable to battle." The ref said.

"Alright great job Butterfree." Ash said.

"The green trainer Ash Ketchum has taken the lead. Can he keep it?".

"Beedrill return." Jeannette said.

"Jeannette , Jeannette she isn't finished yet!" Her cheering section shouted.

"Geeze they're acting like she's winning." Lucy said.

"Well she's not." Serena said.

"Go Scyther!" Jeannette shouted as the large green bug came out.

"Jeannette has now chosen a Scyther." The announcer said.

"Scyther use Double team."

The Scyther made 2 copies of himself and had all 3 Scyther in front of Butterfree.

"Scyther use Air Slash!"

All 3 Scyther flew at Butterfree in different directions.

"Butterfree dodge it!" Ash shouted as Butterfree tried to avoid the 3 Scyther.

He avoided 2 of them but was hit by the third.

"And Butterfree is hit."

"Butterfree use Gust!" Ash shouted.

"Free!" Butterfree shouted as he blasted one of the Scyther's with a powerful burst of wind.

However, upon hitting the Scyther, it vanished.

"Looks like it was just a copy." Red said.

"Butterfree Confusion!" Ash shouted as Butterfree tried to catch one of the two Scyther's with psychic energy, only to have the copy disappear.

"Another copy." Ash said.

"Air Slash!" Jeannette shouted as the real Scyther flew from behind and slashed Butterfree before he could even turn around.

"Another direct hit, that's not good." Brock said.

"Don't give up Butterfree!" Red shouted.

"Scyther use double team!" Jeannette shouted as Scyther made another 2 copies of himself.

"Jeannette's Scyther just seems unstoppable with that double team. What will trainer Ash Ketchum do to counter it."

Ash saw all 3 Scyther come at Butterfree from different directions again, that is when he had an idea.

"Butterfree stay where you are." Ash said.

"What's he doing now?" Clemont asked.

"He's planning something." Serena said.

"Scyther use Air Slash!"

"Scyther!" All 3 Scyther shouted as they closed in on Butterfree.

"Now straight up!" Ash shouted.

"Free!" Butterfree shouted as he used his wings to propel himself up and over the 3 Scyther as they flew under him.

"Now use Gust!" Ash shouted as Butterfree blasted all 3 Scyther, destroying the 2 copies and hurling the real Scyther into the ground.

"Oh no." Jeannette said.

"I knew he had it." Red said.

"Great job Ash!" Serena shouted.

"Butterfree Confusion!" Ash shouted.

"Free!" Butterfree shouted as he blasted Scyther with psychic energy and hurled him back into the ground.

After Scyther hit the ground again he didn't get back up.

"Scyther is unable to battle." The ref said.

"Amazing folks, Butterfree has now knocked out two of Jeannette's pokemon. Ash is on his way to victory, but Jeannette still has one final pokemon. Can she turn it around?"

Jeannette returned her Scyther.

She smiled as she took out her last pokeball.

"Alright up until this point I've been going easy on you, now you face the ultimate power of my team." Jeannette shouted as she threw a third pokeball forward.

Ash saw a Meganium come out and stand in front of Jeannette's platform.

" Meganium" The Meganium said.

"The red trainer has chosen a Meganium."

"A Meganium huh, I guess this girl has been to Johto." Gary said.

"A Meganium won't be an easy win, Ash had best keep his guard up." Oak said.

"Butterfree use Stun spore." Ash said.

"Free." Butterfree said as he unleashed a cloud of stun spores at the Meganium who didn't move at all.

"Meganium use petal blizzard ."

"Meganium." Meganium said as she unleashed a furry of pink petals at Butterfree.

The petals picked up any spores coming at Meganium and carried them back towards

"Butterfree dodge it!" Ash shouted.

Butterfree flew down and avoided the incoming Petal Blizzard.

"Razor leaf." Jeannette said as her Meganium unleashed 10 razor leaves at Butterfree through her neck bloom.

"Confusion." Ash said as Butterfree stopped them with psychic energy.

"Meganium Body slam!" Jeannette shouted as her Meganium sprinted over and leapt up before slamming h into Butterfree, hurling him into the ground with great force.

When Butterfree landed his eyes were swirly.

"Butterfree!" Ash shouted.

"Butterfree is unable to continue." The ref said.

"Well folks it looks like Meganium just knocked out Butterfree, could this be a turn around for the red trainer." The announcer said.

" Butterfree was tired from battling Jeannette's other pokemon. Ash's next pokemon will be fresh and mew." Red said.

"It could be. But perhaps we shouldn't underestimate that Meganium." Oak said.

"Butterfree return, you battled very well Butterfree. Alright I choose you Pidgeotto!" Ash shouted as Pidgeotto flew out.

"Pidgeotto use Air slash!". Ash shouted

"Meganium dodge it." Jeannette said. Pidgeotto flew down with great speed only to have Meganium lurch away with surprising speed.

"What?" Ash said.

"Despite her size, Meganium is far more agile than she looks." Jeannette said.

"Pidgeotto use gust!" Ash shouted.

"Otto!" Pidgeotto shouted as he blasted Meganium with a gust of wind.

"Meganium dig in." Meganium dug herself into the ground with ingrain and was able to exert herself forward, minimizing the effects of the gust.

"Amazing folks, the Meganium is avoiding all of Pidgeotto's attacks."

"How is she doing this?" Gary said.

"It's clearly a well trained Meganium." Oak said.

"Pidgeotto use Agility into Air slash, and go in low." Ash said.

Jeannette smiled when she saw this.

"Meganium Sleep powder." Just before Pidgeotto reached Meganium, the small grass pokemon opened his mouth and unleashed a cloud of Sleeping powder right into Pidgeotto.

"Pidgeotto!" Ash shouted.

Pidgeotto fell fast asleep and landed in front of Meganium before the small Meganium grabbed Pidgeotto by her vines and hurled him across the battlefield.

Pidgeotto slammed into the ground but was still asleep.

"Pidgeotto return." Ash said.

"Trainer Ash Ketchum returns his Pidgeotto."

"Why did he do that?" Bonnie asked.

"Pidgeotto wouldn't have been able to do much more." Lucy said.

"Ha ha ha! We've taken control of this match now!" Jeannette laughed.

"Well folks, trainer Jeannette has turned things around. Trainer Ash is down to one pokemon."

"Jeannette Jeannette she's the greatest trainer yet!" Her cheer section shouted.

"This is bad, Ash could loose to a Meganium." Shauna said.

"Come on Ash, don't get beaten like this." Gary said.

"Come on Ash don't give up!" Serena shouted.

Ash took out one more pokeball and gave a slight smile as he hurled the last pokeball forward.

Moments later, none other than Muk came out and stood in front of Ash.

"Muk!" Muk shouted.

Jeannette gasped upon the sight of Muk.

"Trainer Ash Ketchum has now chosen a Muk for his final pokemon."

"Muk, I see this should be interesting now." Oak said.

"Meganium Body slam!" Jeannette shouted.

"Meganium!" Meganium shouted as she leapt forward and slammed into Muk. However, as soon as he hit Muk, she sunk into his grimy body as Muk looked like nothing had happened to him.

"Meganium?" Meganium said in confusion as she pulled herself out.

"Meganium use Petal blizzard!".

Meganium unleashed a furry of leaves, however, Muk smiled as he absorbed the petals and took no damage from any of the attacks.

"Muk is absorbing all the attacks." Clemont said.

"It looks like Meganium can't do anything." Serena said.

"The tables have turned again as the green trainer Ash Ketchum's Muk absorbes all of Meganium's attacks." The first announcer said.

"A smart move by him Robb."

"Meganium use Sleep powder." Jeannette said.

"Meganium." Meganium said as she opened her mouth and let out a cloud of sleeping powder.

"Muk use Sludge Bomb." Ash said.

"Muk!" Muk shouted as he opened his mouth and unleashed a large clod of violet sludge that absorbed the Sleep powder and crashed into Meganium.

"Meganium!" Meganium cried. Being weak to poison attacks, she took a lot of damage.

"Muk follow up with Sludge wave!" Ash shouted.

"Muk!" Muk shouted as he unleashed a large wave of very effective poison sludge that crashed into Meganium and pinned her onto the ground.

"Meganium!" Jeannette shouted as Muk moved towards him and he was still stuck under the Sludge.

"Muk use Bodyslam!" Ash shouted.

"Muk!" Muk shouted as he slammed his entire body onto Meganium's.

Meganium squirmed under Muk's massive body for a few moments before stopping.

Muk got off Meganium and stood over the plant pokemon with swirly eyes.

"Meganium." Meganium muttered.

"Meganium is unable to battle, the winner is Ash Ketchum." The ref said.

"Alright Muk!" Ash shouted.

"Pika!".

"Yes, he did it." Serena said.

As Ash came down from the platform Muk leapt onto him , forcing him onto the ground.

"Ha ha ha, that Muk can certainly be a pain. But that seems to have worked in Ash's favor here."Oak said.

"Alright, I think I know how that Meganium felt." Ash said.

"Muk!" Muk said.

Jeannette walked over and lifted up her Meganium's head.

"It's ok Meganium, we're going home." She said.

"That's it folks, trainer Ash Ketchum has won his fourth match, now he moves on to the Indigo Stadium." The announcers said.

"Perfect. Now I know Ash is in the Indigo Stadium." Gary said.

Later that night, after a visit to the pokemon center, Ash and Red were sitting on top of Ash's condo.

"So you're finally in the Indigo Stadium. You should be proud" Red said.

"I can't wait for my first battle there." Ash said.

"I haven't seen your Charizard in a real battle except for Mewtwo in a long time. I hope you end up using him soon."

"Me too." Ash said.

Moments later they felt someone else behind them.

"There's my boys." They heard as they turned to see Felix standing behind them.

"Dad!" They said as they got up and hugged him.

"It's good to see you finally back from your surgery." Ash said.

"I only wish I could 'see' you both." Felix said.

Ash and Red saw the eye that had been sliced open had completely recovered.

It looked like it had fully healed , except his iris was no longer brown like Ash's, it was very light blue and almost clear.

"I heard about your win today. Congratulations, now I get to watch you in the Indigo Stadium." Felix said.

"I'm glad you and mom are here." Ash said.

"I'm really glad you're here." Red said.

"You're mom's with Serena and the others right now. But your grandfather is at the enclave right now and wants us to meet him there." Felix said.

"Why?" Ash asked.

"He said he just wants us there." Felix said.

They walked downstairs where they saw the others waiting for them there.

"There you are, come on we need to get to the enclave." Korrina said.

Inside the enclave Arthur was with another two guardians walking down the halls.

"It's been to long since I've been here." Arthur said.

"I haven't been to Kanto in a long time." The second guardian said.

"You'd think the Grand mentor would visit his ancestral home." Agatha said.

They walked into a massive hall filled with statues of Kanto mentors of the past.

As the Statues moved further back to the end of the room they got older and older until they reached a massive solid gold Statue of Altair.

A pair of guardians were polishing the statue to keep it shiny.

When they stopped they saw Arthur behind them.

"Grand mentor!" One almost shouted before they bowed respectfully.

"As you were." He said as they stared at the statue.

"Hard to believe, thousands of years ago , this is where he was born and raised." The other guardian said.

Arthur looked up at his anscetor's statue. His entire life he had tried to live up to Altair and Vaeron. Despite this he still felt like he hadn't been able to do do so.

He hoped that maybe his son and grandsons could.

"They'll be here soon, we should get going." Arthur said.

Ash and the others walked into the enclave as they were guided by a pair of guardians.

They walked into a chamber where they saw Arthur with Agatha.

"There you are." Arthur said.

" Dad, care to tell us why you called us here?" Felix asked.

"Well I wanted to see your boy Ash. Interesting match today, with that Meganium." Agatha said.

"I'd say that Jeannette's Meganium got a bit lucky." Arthur said.

"In any case I look forward to seeing you in the Indigo Stadium." Agatha said.

"We're also here because an old friend of ours was asked to come here." Arthur said.

Moments later Red's eyes widened as he saw none other than Gurkinn walk in beside Arthur.

"Grandpa? What are you doing here?" Korrina asked sounding confused.

He smiled at Red.

"Someone said I needed to be here for something very important." Gurkinn said.

"Uh, Korrina can I talk to you for a moment alone." Red said as he took her by her hand and lead her into another room.

"What was that about?" Clemont said as Bonnie smiled and shook her head.

"You're so dense brother."

Once they were in the other room Red shut the door and made sure they were alone.

"Red , what's going on?" Korrina asked before Red held her hands again.

"Korrina, I'm not an idiot. I know there's something you've wanted me to do for a long time. To be honest, I've wanted to do it for as long as I can remember." Red said as Korrina's face turned red and she almost started shaking.

"Red." She started.

"I love you Korrina, I love everything about you. You're caring, you live life to your fullest, you are always positive. I want to spend every moment of the rest of my life with you." Red said before he got down on one knee.

"Korrina, will you marry me." Red said as he took out a ring made of white gold with a white diamond in the center.

Korrina grabbed Red by his head and pulled him up to her face as she began to passionately kiss him.

"I was afraid you'd never do it. Now I see why you waited, so all our families could be here."

"You said you wanted to get married the same night I propose. We have everyone here we'd want at our wedding. We change into our ceremonial robes, get a regious master and do this." Red said.

Korrina grabbed Red by the hand and dragged him out of the room where the others were waiting.

"We're getting married!" Korrina screamed.

Ash turned to Red.

Before Korrina could drag Red away , he was able to put the ring cases in Ash's hands.

"So you're the best man." Serena said.

"I guess I better get to work on that speech, I don't have much time." Ash said.

"Both my sons are going to be married now, this is so overwhelming. Wait, are they getting married today?" Delia asked.

"I'm afraid so, Korrina's not one for a big ceremony for her wedding." Gurkinn said.

"We should also probably find professor Oak." Felix said.

"Daniel would probably like to see it too." Arthur said.

An hour later inside the enclave chapel, Ash and Red were in their ceremonial robes with the rest of the group sitting down in the rows of seats.

Over 2 dozen other guardians who knew Red and Korrina had also come when they heard what was going on. Including Aria, Paul, who happened to be there, Daniel and his wife, and Oak with Leaf and Gary.

Aria and Serena were up by the alter with Serena as the maid of honor and Aria as a bridesmaid.

Serena was a bit disappointed that she wouldn't get to do anything as maid of honor outside the ceremony herself, but it was Korrina's wedding not hers.

The Regious master came down he aisle and stood at the alter as several guardian musicians began to play the wedding march.

Korrina then walked in with her arm locked with her grandfather's.

When the reached the alter, Ash and Red noticed a look on Gurkinn's face that was a mixture of joy and sadness.

They could understand how it was hard for him.

After what happened to his son, Korrina was all he had left. He had to love her more than anything else in the world.

He gave her a kiss on the forehead before she walked over to the alter with Red.

Gurkinn sat down beside Agatha on the bride's side.

"How did we end up at a wedding tonight?" Gary asked Leaf.

"I really don't know." Leaf said.

"Good evening all, family, friends, fellow guardians. We have all come together today, rather rushed but still a momentous occasion. The union of Korrina Travil and Red Ketchum in holy union int he eyes of Reduka the creator of life. In the beginning our ancestors, like all pokemon chose a mate. They would remain with that mates for life. Now we have marriage, it holds the same principles of commitment, union, and true love." The regious master said.

He continued for twenty minutes before he turned to Ash.

"The time has come, may I have the rings." He said as Ash took them out and handed them to Red and Korrina.

"Red Ketchum, before the father Reduka. Do you take Korrina Travil to be your beloved wife. Do you swear to love and support her, treasure her every day. Stay faithful, give her children and raise the. From this day until your last."

"I do." Red said as he looked deeply into Korrina's eyes.

"Korrina Travil do you take Red Ketchum to be your beloved husband. Do you swear to love and support him, treasure him every day. Stay faithful, bear children with him and raise them. From this day until your last. "

Korrina passionately looked into Red's eyes.

"I do." She said.

"Place the rings upon each other's hands."

Red placed his ring on Korrina's hand as she placed hers on his.

"By the power bestowed upon me by Reduka the creator of life. I pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss your wife." The regious master said. Not a half a second later, Korrina wrapped her arms around Red and passionately kissed him.

Those in the chapel began to clap as Korrina withdrew.

"Alright now for the best man speech. I haven't been married long, but ." Ash started before Korrrina nearly dragged Red out of the room.

"Alright then." Ash said sweat dropping.

Red's Charizard and Korrina's Lucario smiled as they watched their trainers leave the room.

Gurkinn gave a somewhat distressed look as he watched them leave.

"It's alright my old friend. She's a woman now, and married. Let her life." Agatha said as Gurkinn sighed.

Author's note

I'm afraid that will be the last wedding in this story,

Now that Ash is in the Indigo Stadium, expect to see most of the battles being OCs submitted by you guys. I'm afraid I have all I need.

Now onto other matters, For future stories I am debating whether or not to continue to have ancestor memories.

I have set up a poll so make sure you vote.

Now the Aura guardian/Assassins theme won't be gone if you vote no, it's just there won't be any flashbacks where we see through a past guardian.

So until next time, please review, comment, suggest, or ask(via PM) and vote
