A few weeks had passed and autumn now turned into winter, the trees were bare and trails of frost were glued onto the tips of the grass. It was not only time for the dreadful exams but it was also time for the towns annual masquerade ball. There were only a few Covington students actually attending this high class event, one of them being the being the brunette bombshell Eve Torres.

"Tell me again why you're attending this ball? Also, how is it that you girls do this shopping thing? I can't speak for Phil or anything but I can't look at one more dress without collapsing over."

"No man, I'm in the same boat as you."

A giggle came from her lips while searching through the clothes rack. Before responding Eve glanced at a few more dresses, observing her options.

"Well, it's not only a family tradition to go but my mom's also running it." A sigh addressed Eve's lips before finishing her sentence. "Besides, I'm dreading going this year, I'm going to be the only one there without a date which means I have to have a killer dress to make up for it, which means you two are you going to have to help me, no getting out of it."

"Yes ma'am." Phil smirked softly, handing the woman the dresses he had picked out.

"Great, I'll be right back you two, I'm going to go try these on and then you'll be free to go."

The two roommates watched her walk off into the dressing rooms, Mike exhaled. For the past couple of months he had noticed a slight bit of attraction he had towards Eve but didn't take much of it, it wasn't unusual for him to feel attracted to a beautiful woman but after their incident a few weeks ago Mike couldn't help but feel something else, something more. With her going dateless to a dance he felt like it'd be a great opportunity to figure out all of his feelings.

As Mike opened up his mouth to speak Phillip beat him to it, of course.

"So, Maria has been ignoring me for weeks now, do you think I should tell her my feelings for Eve, I mean it's only fair since she told me how she felt, you know?"

"I'm going to be honest with you Punk, Maria's going to be bitchy about this either way it's kind of her nature. I've come to the conclusion that things are never going to be the same and I think that you should come to that conclusion as well."

"Yeah… maybe you're right."

"Of course I am." Mike smirked before changing the topic onto something a bit more interesting. "But what do you think about this Eve dance scenario? Are we really going to make her go to this dance alone? Isn't it a girl's worse nightmare to go to a ball alone? Haven't you seen Cinderella?"

"Yes I have and Cinderella went to the ball by herself, have you seen Cinderella because you've got your facts mixed up."

For a moment they were both very quiet and a bit astonished but Mike decided to ignore it and move forward, "Okay bad example but what about Eve?"

He put his best efforts into not making himself sound too suspicious but luckily for him Punk was too distracted by his thoughts to even pay attention.

"Well I know it's an inconvenience for her but I can't ask her, I mean I would but this whole Maria thing, I don't want to cause anymore friction in the group then their already is.

Although Mike expected that response he couldn't help but to roll his blue eyes in secrecy at that, Phil's reasoning was just an excuse that he pulled out of his hat, it was becoming irritating because Mike felt like his Maria problems was all he ever talked about anymore, but that didn't really matter.

"That's true; you wouldn't want to upset Maria again. God forbid." Shaking it off, Miz exhaled deeply before adding on a new layer to the conversation. "Maybe I should ask Eve if I could escort her."

A wave of disbelief and jealousy ran over the tatted man, he stared at his friend for a moment attempting to hide his bottled emotions. "Wait, you want to escort Eve?"

"Well no, I don't want to but she is my friend and I can't just leave her hanging out to dry. You heard her she was dreading this ball-mask-thing, she deserves a bit of fun."

Phil didn't actually buy it and he couldn't quite understand why, he wanted to believe it, he truly did but there was a part of Phil fighting the urge of believing Mike which worried him. Punk shook off those feelings, imagining it was just himself cooking up unrealistic ideas in his head.

"Um, sure maybe you sho-"

"So I've come to the decision I'm definitely going with the soft pink dress, the pattern on the breast plate has glitter and rhinestones while the others are so vague."

The two gentleman heads popped up to Eve as she walked out of the dressing room holding her dress on one arm with a delicate smile plastered on her face.

"Yeah, that's great Eve." Clearing his throat, Mike took a moment before finally working up the nerve to enhance Eve in the experiment/date proposal "So Phil and I were talking and we thought, maybe it'd be a good idea if I were your date to this ball-thing this way you don't have to walk in or dance alone."

The former delicate smile that Eve held was now enlarged, this last minute change of plans was a bit of a relief "What really? Would you do that?"

"Oh of course, anything to help out a friend…We can look at it as my way of repaying you for all the nice things you've done for me.

Eve's heart fluttered as she thanked and hugged him, the offer made her extremely relieved going to this party alone felt almost like social suicide, of course that is a bit of an exaggeration but that doesn't matter. As Phillip stood by watching their embrace he quickly came to the conclusion that maybe allowing Mike to ask her out wasn't his best idea, seeing Eve holding onto any other man felt utterly terrible and it felt even worse with it being Mike. Mike gets what he wants no matter what the cost and what Mike wants is the same thing every time, a woman to carry home into his bedroom. His only hope was that Eve would see that and not fall into his lustrous trap.

Nikki Bella stood in shock as she took a glimpse of Covington's campus; everything was so elegantly designed and petite. Just stepping foot on the stoned pathway leading to the admissions office made the woman feel so significant and pure, Nicole's stomach fluttered abruptly while she glanced at the buildings surrounding her, the students passing by, even the birds that flew across the crystal blue sky seemed better than the ones back home.

The twins were dressed very differently, Brianna had her hair pinned back into a tight bun; she was dressed in a heavy purple winter coat, jeans, and a pair of black ugg boots while her sister Nikki tried to rock a tight sundress and high heels. The outfit was cute but it didn't really fit into the time of year, sundresses and the month of November don't really mix well with one another.

"I can't believe you actually go to school here, it's so extravagant."

"Extravagant? I suppose, I guess I'm just used to it now."

"How could you ever get used to this?"

"I don't know? You just do…"

The two exchanged small talk as they walked throughout the campus, they both complimented each other on something they've done different with their appearance whether it was a different hair type, a change of clothing style, or just the way they supposedly transformed within a few months. Brie imagined that they'd spend their time talking about the change of life and how life was for her living away from home but instead the two discussed Nikki's relationships, some things never seem to change.

Constantly Brie caught her sister's eyes scanning the area around her, as if she was looking for something; when in fact, she was. All that was running through the older twins mind was the question of where Randy Orton was, although she was not a regular attendant of Covington the thought of even one night with that hunk was very soothing. Then at last, Nicole found her target.

Before the woman could even think up an excuse to make her way over to Randy, within seconds he was walking in their direction.

"Well hello there." Randy took a moment to scan over the stranger standing in front of him. His smile and soft chuckle showed his amusement in her choice of outfit; "You are aware it's winter, right? You guys do have that in New York, don't you?"

"I guess I just assumed California would be warmer, I don't usually have the chance to wear cute dresses…but I now realize that it's cold all the way around the U.S. map." A giggle released from the Italians coated red lips in effort to entice the man even slightly, and then she decided to continue in conversation while simultaneously sticking out her hand for a handshake. "I'm Nicole; it's so great to finally meet you."

"It's nice to meet you too, Brizzle over here has told me a lot about you." Randy smirked in Brie's direction, although his hand was gripped onto Nicole's, his eyes were still firmly placed on the woman standing next to her. "So are you hungry? I was actually looking for you to see if you wanted to go out for lunch, Nikki if you'd like you could tag along."

"Thank you, but no thanks… I think I need to stay and show my sister around some more."

The smile that was placed so elegantly on the chiseled mans features was quickly removed after those words; it wasn't the first time that Brie turned him down, perhaps he should be used to it by now.

"Oh okay, well I guess I should leave you two to that then, see you guys later."

Nicole watched in a mixture of disbelief and confusion as Randy walked away with his head hung low and his two hands dug deep into his jeans pockets.

"What was all that about, I thought you liked him? Why would you turn him down when I'm here all week?"

"First of all Nicole, I don't like Randy. I don't know how many times I have to make that clear to people, also I'm sorry I just wanted to spend some time with my sister; I thought you wanted to learn more about Covington, besides I see him every day."

"Yeah, well I don't see him every day and plus I'm hungry… do you mind if I go and tag along with Randy?"

Nicole's smile was a mixture of many emotions, in ways her expression was deceiving but in other ways it was very flirtatious and hopeful. Suddenly it was all too clear that the only thing on the brunettes mind was too come in contact with her sisters good friend Randall; which wasn't too shocking; however what was shocking was that as soon as Brie discovered the truth, her stomach began to turn in forms of disgust and jealousy, this left the woman unaware of what to say next.

"Um, I don't know…if you'd like but-" Before even another word could be formed on Brie's tongue her sister was already skipping away to find her own knight and shining armor. The woman's brown eyes fell flat as she watched the two walked closely together along the stoned pathway. For some odd reason a wave of jealousy flushed over Brianna.

This wasn't going to be a fun visit.
