Sam stayed glued to the corner of the farthest bathroom stall. She refused to go back out there. The moment she had sat down on a sofa, everyone was clamoring for her. She drank something and was sure it was alcohol and quickly swallowed and left it aside. She went in search of Tamara and found Liz trying to get her to stop drinking something. They managed to take it away,

"Where's Ronnie?" Sam asked Liz.

Liz looked at her friend with desperate eyes, "She's going crazy over there. Sam this place is way too much!"
"You think?!" Sam yelled over the music, "And Tamara is about to go crazy in a few too."

Liz slumped her shoulders, "We're screwed. Aren't we?"

Sam officially hated this place and was growing more and more anxious as she waited for Lucas. She knew she was in trouble, but anything was better than this. She resisted her urge to sob and tried to control her breathing.

She heard two women stumble in and throw up in the stall next to her and Sam cringed, "Hurry up, dad." She murmured to herself.

Lucas and Victoria were in the car anxiously waiting to reach the club. Brooke was told she needed to stay at the event in order to not bring attraction to the club, or else Sam's face would be plastered all over the tabloids

Once out the car both adults had no hesitancy in cutting the line,

"WHOA!" Cried the bouncer.

Lucas was about to fly off the handle. This bulging, fat man would not keep him from his daughter. Luckily, the ver calm Victoria was able to take over. She only had to say a few words and the bouncer let them in.

After finding Liz trying to once again get Tamara to stop doing some other crazy thing, Lucas sent them off with a hard warning to go straight into the car if they knew what was good for them. Then they went straight to where Sam said she'd wait for them. The bathroom. But Victoria stopped Lucas from going in, "You cannot go in there."
Lucas looked at the woman as if she was crazy, "The hell I won't. She's in there, I'm getting her."
"No." She said firmly, "I will. It's the woman's bathroom and you don't want to cause a scene. Wait out here and I'll bring her to you"

Lucas reluctantly accepted, but waited right by the door, calming his breathing as Victoria went in.

"Samantha?" Victoria said as she closed the door.

Sam moved from the corner of the bathroom stall where she was huddled, "V-victoria?" She was confused as to why her grandmother was there. But anyone was better than no one!

"Victoria, is my mom here?" Sam asked getting closer to the door of the stall.

"I'm with your father. Come out here. We have your friends in the car."

Sam opened the bathroom stall door as soon as she heard the directive. She didn't need to be told twice. She wanted out!

Victoria was standing in front of her and Sam instantly hugged the woman, feeling so much relief. Victoria didn't even have time to react to the high school Brooke-esque clothing she was wearing. Victoria swore Brooke would've worn it to a party. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, she guessed.

"Thank you for coming!" She cried, "I hate this place!"

Victoria felt stunned at the sudden embrace. She took a moment but patted the girl's back awkwardly, "Your father is waiting. We should go. And you're welcome."

She then pulled the girl from her and held her at arms length by her shoulders, "Do you know how stupid this was?"

"Victoria, I know I-"

"No." The woman interrupted, "You obviously don't know. Had you been caught doing anything your whole image would be ruined. Do you realize you could've been drugged in this god forsaken club? You are lucky you aren't my daughter Samantha, because you have no idea how scared we all were!"

Sam's lip jutted out and her eyes began to form big, fat tears, "I'm s-sorry!" She sobbed and fell back into the woman's arms.

Victoria cringed at the hug, "Save it for your parents. Let's go."

But she really was scared for the girl, and she needed to realize how dumb it was.

The moment Sam opened the door she was engulfed in a hug by her father.

"Dad-"

"I'm so glad you're okay." He said hugging her tighter then letting her go just as quickly and giving her a stern look. He shook her slightly, though he noticed her puffy, red eyes, "You say nothing else until we get home. I don't know whether to hug you or spank you!"

Sam's eyes widened at the threat, Lucas then turned her over and gave her a stinging swat, voicing his unhappiness with her. Sam whimpered but couldn't dwell on it much because he righted her then led her by her arm to the car. Sam gulped, the club was no longer the danger, now it was her parents' wrath.

"Samantha, what the hell are you wearing?" Lucas asked as they walked towards the car. Sam struggled to keep up with his long strides. The only reason she had to keep up was because he had a hold on her arm. Though remorseful of her actions, the way her dad was dragging her was annoying her, "Clothes." She spit.

"Well I don't want to see you in those clothes ever again." He said as they reached the car though he was still holding onto her arm. Sam having had enough of all the manhandling pulled away, "But did you see some of the girls in the club? You should at least be happy I'm wearing this." She mumbled.

He shook his head and sighed. He grabbed a hold of her arm before she opened the car and smacked her bare thigh twice.

"Dad. Ow!."

"Stop with the attitude."

Sam felt her eyes water instantly as she rubbed the spot. She wasn't used to being swatted in public like that, though no one was around, but still! She looked at him with watery, but apologetic eyes, "I'll stop."

Lucas kept his arms across his chest, "I'm serious about this Sam. Stop with it already. You're in enough trouble. Get in the car, right now."

Sam sniffled and gave him a sad nod as she got in. If Tamara and Liz saw Lucas swatting Sam they made no effort to show it as they stayed quiet despite the red blush and teary eyes that Sam donned.

"Seatbelt on Sam." He told her.

"Girls, Victoria and I are going to talk to club management. Do not move a muscle. Understood?"

They all nodded.

The three girls were quiet as they waited for Lucas and Victoria to come into the car. The more Sam thought the more worried she became. Her dad seemed really upset and worried. Why had they been so stupid again? This was supposed to have been a fun night!

Tamara had her arms crossed against her chest in defiance.

"This is so fucked up." She muttered, "Why'd you have to call your dad Sam?"

Sam looked at her friend with a hard glare, "Shut up Tamara.I don't know why you were acting crazy."
"You're such a kid Sam."

Tamara was angry that her partying was cut short, but more than anything she knew she'd probably be in trouble with Camille, and that really, really sucked. She was doing so well!

"Shut up T. Sam did the right thing." Liz defended her friend, "You know you were acting crazy. You're tipsy right now and you know it"
"Whatever." Tamara retorted.

Once more a tense silence set in between the three.

Liz's leg was bobbing up and down as she thought of the sure punishment coming her way. Her mom would not take well to finding out that she had once again got caught up in one of Ronnie's schemes, and Sam had her knees pulled into her chest as her head leaned on the window. She sniffled a couple times trying to stop any of the tears that threatened to fall. She was shaken up, and she knew she had also disappointed her parents. That was the worst.

After talking with the club staff Lucas and Victoria walked towards the car. Sam closed her eyes waiting to hear some sort of reprimand.

Lucas and Victoria sat in the seats in front of the girls. Lucas turned around, keen to each of their reactions. Tamara looked defiant, Sam and Liz both repentant. His baby still had watery eyes. He sighed.

"You're all going straight to bed once we get to the apartment. It's late, so we'll talk about this tomorrow."

"Is my mom home?" Liz dared to ask, though with some caution.
"No. Brooke and your mother will get home later on. They're not happy with you girls either. We thought we could trust you three. This was incredibly dangerous girls. I hope you know that. Dangerous and dumb."

Sam bit her lip and tightened her hold on her knees, looking back outside once more.

He shook his head trying not to lecture now. It would wait 'til tomorrow. But he knew he'd still have to tuck Sam in and make sure she was okay.

Lucas waited near the bathroom door with his arms firmly across his chest. His daughter could've been seriously hurt this evening and he really wanted to shake her and make sure she understood that. But at the same time hearing her sniffle throughout the car ride, then quickly wipe her eyes and avoid his and Victoria's gaze also made him want to wrap her up in a hug, but he knew that he couldn't offer her that just yet.

Tamara was the first one out, "T. Victoria wants to talk to you before you head to bed."
"Why? You said we had to go straight to bed." She spit.

The man's eyes narrowed, "Tamara do you really wanna test me now?"
She shrugged, "It's not like you can do anything to me."

Lucas felt his blood boil, but luckily a much more blunt voice came from behind him.

"Look little girl, I know you're upset that your mother chose some strange man and religion over you, but that does not mean that you can act like these people didn't move their whole schedule around for you." Victoria walked closer and grabbed the girl's arm. Her eyes glaring the young girl down, "They didn't have to let you come, but they did,and look how you repay them? I suggest you come down with me and stop acting like a petulant child who deserves a timeout and a red bottom. Had this been another era that's exactly what you would get acting as you are."

Tamara huffed indignantly. How did this woman know about her mother? And was she threatening to spank her? No one except Camille did that to her, well threaten to anyway, "I hate you."
"I don't care." Victoria countered. And with that the older woman dragged a reluctant teenager to the living room to discuss her drinking and her role as role model to Sam."

Lucas had pleaded with Victoria to talk to the girl and the woman finally obliged when Lucas explained how important Tamara was to Sam's life.

Sam was out next and she stopped short of walking when she saw her dad.

Her gaze fell to her feet.
Lucas looked at his guilty little girl with compassion. He noted the drastic change in clothing. Her PJ shirt hung loosely and had Spongebob right in the middle of it. Lucas couldn't help but soften, "You're sleeping with mom and me tonight." He told her, making sure his voice remained stern.
"I'm sorry." Sam whispered as she nodded to his statement.

He lifted her chin with his hand, "I know you are. Come on." He guided her to the bedroom with a hand on her back.

"Can I sleep on mom's side?" Sam said through a tired and watery voice when they stepped into the room. Sam sometimes slept on Brooke's side of the bed when her mother had both a long day and a late night. She usually did that when she wanted her mother's comfort for one reason or the other, but Brooke wasn't there. This was definitely one of those times. Lucas understood this completely.

"Okay." He told her then lifted the covers wordlessly and waited for her to climb in. She still had tears in her eyes that fell down her cheeks. It was clear that Lucas was very upset with her, and it was making Sam emotional.

Lucas kissed her forehead, "Stop crying now. You're safe." He whispered.

"You and mama are mad at me though." She felt more tears come on, "I know I'm in trouble."
He sat at the edge of the bed and wiped the tears with his thumb, "Shhh. Samantha. I need you to calm down. Listen, we're disappointed with your decisions yes, but we're also happy that you called us. We'll talk about your punishment later. I'm not talking to you about it without mama here." He grabbed her comfort objects that he had laid at the foot of their bed, and handed them to her, "Here's Barry and blanket." He whispered.

Sam hugged them both tight and without inhibition as she wiped her eyes with a balled up fist and took shuddering breaths to calm herself.

Lucas felt a pang in his heart at the sight but he stayed strong.

"Goodnight champ." He gave her one last kiss and stood up to leave.
"But dad, I-"
"Not now." He spoke in gentle firmness. He knew his girl and knew that she wanted to go sleep without the guilt, but he wasn't prepared to do this now. He couldn't bring himself to be in stern disciplinarian mode at almost two in the morning, "I love you." He told her before making his way out to make sure Liz was in bed and then to go make sure Victoria hadn't strangled Tamara.

"Where are they?" Brooke asked as soon as Victoria and Lucas were in her sight. It was now 3 in the morning and Brooke and Rebecca had finally returned, both ready to see their precious daughters.

"They're asleep." He told Rebecca and Brooke, "They were both very sorry and sleepy girls. Tamara was being stubborn but Victoria took care of that."

Brooke suddenly felt uneasy, "What did you do?"
Victoria scoffed, "I did nothing. I talked to her."
"Right." Brooke added sarcastically.

"I don't need you to believe me."
Victoria then stood up and grabbed her bag, "it's late and I should leave."

Brooke watched her go but then suddenly left the kitchen and stopped her by the door, "Victoria."
"What?"
"Thank you." Brooke said sincerely, "I know you worked your magic at the club to pull any pictures of Sam because I called them afterwards. Thank you. I didn't know you cared so much."

Victoria out of instinct extended a hand and put it on her daughter's shoulder, "Stop thinking so little of me, and maybe I'll stop surprising you."
Brooke gave her a faint smile thankful for the small affection, "Goodnight."

The older woman smiled, "I'll call you tomorrow. Best of luck with your scoundrel."

Brooke sighed, "Thanks."

Her mother gave her a wink as if to say 'it'll all be okay.' and left with nothing else to say.

After talking over how they were going to deal with their children all adult members of the trip went to their respective rooms. Brooke checked in on Tamara who was already dead asleep, though she swore there was still a scowl on the girl's face. Brooke understood why Tamara went out today, she needed an outlet. but still, it wasn't an excuse. She had called Camille about what had happened and they agreed Camille would deal with her at home, though a talk with Brooke would be appreciated.

When Brooke got into the room they were staying in she found Sam curled into a ball on her side of the bed. She had dried tear stained cheeks and the tip of her blanket was securely in her arms, her teddy bear hugged tightly to her chest.

Lucas came out from the bathroom and noticed Brooke looking at their daughter with frustration written all over her face, "She was teary eyed from the moment Victoria found her in the bathroom to when I tucked her in." He informed her.

Brooke sighed and looked in her bag for a wet wipe, something she started carrying since her kid came back to her life, even teenagers needed to be cleaned up once in a while. You'd be surprised. She started carrying them the first time Sam got sick and she insisted on wiping her nose on her sleeve, causing her to irritate it severely. Poor Sammy's nose was so red that any type of kleenex hurt to touch it. The wet wipes her mother gave her were a welcome relief.

Usually, Brooke would just hand Sam the wipe, but in this case Brooke would do it for her...even if she was livid with her daughter.

"I can't believe this Lucas." Brooke murmured looking through her bag, "She took advantage of our trust. She can't get away with it. She put herself in danger. That club has drugs and alcohol Lucas! She's still a kid. A baby! What the hell was she thinking?! Had something happened to her I would've-"
Her voice broke at the thought and she put her bag down on the bed in frustration.

"Babe." Loucas said crossing the space between them and grabbing her shoulders, "She's fine. She called us when she needed us. She trusted us enough to know that even though she'd probably get in trouble, her daddy and her mama would still get her out of whatever situation she was in. Are we going to punish her? Of course, and you and I talked about that. She deliberately disobeyed us and she'll learn that there are consequences for that."

"I'm disappointed Lucas." She admitted.

"So am I. And we'll let her know that and explain it all to her." He let a smile cross her lips, "I guess this is her first act of 'normal' teenage rebellion."
Brooke chuckled as she looked over at the little girl curled up in her spot.

"I'm sure she was dressed provocatively?"
"She looked like you in High School."
Brooke frowned, "Oh...no."

"You don't know how happy I was when I saw her come out of the bathroom with an oversized Spongebob tshirt. I had to force myself not to smile."

They both had to admit, she looked all of ten years old as she slept at the moment.

"I threw the clothes away."
"Lucas!' She admonished.

He shrugged, "I don't know whose they were, but I don't care. She's not dressing like that again."

"Whatever you say poppa bear." She gave Lucas a deep kiss then finally took out the wipes and moved towards her daughter, feeling a little less livid.

She slowly began to wipe her daughter's tear stained cheeks. Sam was in such a deep sleep that she didn't even stir.

"What were you thinking Samantha?" She whispered as she finished up. The fashion designer wanted nothing more than crawl into bed and wake up the next morning and realize her daughter's stunt was all just a dream, but she had a feeling that wouldn't be the case. They'd have to face this head on, and what felt like the millionth time, Brooke sighed heavily. She gently maneuvered Sam to the middle of the bed and crawled into the covers. She didn't cuddle into her daughter at first but the more she looked at her the greater the urge became and so she gave out a sigh and drew her into her embrace. "I'm going to kill you tomorrow kiddo." She whispered, glad that her kid was safe in her arms.

The next morning Sam woke up to an empty bed. It took her a while to shake the sleepiness off. She yawned and stretched, then sat up. As she sat there for a moment, she remembered why she was in the bedroom her parent's were staying in, and that she was, in fact, in big trouble. Her eyes widened, "oh shit." she mumbled to herself.

Once she got her face washed, teeth brushed, and hair tamed she walked down the stairs tentatively, and found her other two friends sitting on the couch, looking uncomfortable.

Rebecca caught Sam's gaze on the stairs, "Good. You're awake. Come down here and take a seat."
Sam nodded with a gulp and sat between her two friends. She wanted to know where her parents were, but wasn't sure if that was the right question to ask at the moment. She hadn't seen her mother since yesterday morning and it had been a while since Brooke was gone for that long. Brooke worked hard to try and be available, even if she was just in her office at home she still wanted to be physically present for her daughter. And currently, Sam missed her even if she didn't want to accept that fact, or at least, outwardly express it.
Rebecca eyed all three of the girls. She could tell that Sam was wondering about her parents, while Tamara had a slight headache from her drinking the night before, and her buggyboo was squirming with anticipation of what was to come.

"Samantha, your parents had a media appearance they'll be here later to talk to you."
The girl nodded and mumbled out an 'okay.' but couldn't help but feel a little upset that she still couldn't see her mom and her dad was out of commission. She'd rather get in trouble by one of them and not second hand by Rebecca, but she understood her parents were busy and they couldn't control that, so she'd just deal with it.

Rebecca took a moment to compose her thoughts.

"All three of you need to know one thing. You lost our trust. Tamara, you are 16, Elizabeth, 15, and Samantha, 14. I know you all know the difference between right and wrong, between obedience and disobedience. What in the hell made you think it was okay to do what you did? Sneak out? Go into a club with drugs and alcohol? Do you have any idea how dangerous that is?!"

Sam felt her heart fall when she heard that she had lost her parent's trust. She was so lost in her thoughts that she almost missed Rebecca asking her a question.

"Samantha! Are you listening?"
"Yeah, sorry. I just, blanked...sorry." She looked up again, "What, what were you saying?"

"Did you use your mother's clout to get in the club?"

Sam squirmed in her seat and felt Liz stare at her with sadness while Tamara was glaring at Rebecca.

"Leave her alone." Tamara finally said.
"Excuse me young lady?"
Tamara stood up, "I said leave. her. alone. Don't place the blame on her. It was your precious baby's friend that wanted us all to go anyways."

"What the hell T?!" Liz snapped at the fact that she was just thrown under the bus, "You're the one that decided to drink!"

"I wasn't drunk! Damn, you priss."

"STOP." Rebecca boomed. She would not lose control of the situation to two teenage girls. "Tamara sit your butt back down. Any and all misbehavior Camille will know about, so I suggest you get your attitude in check. And Elizabeth unless you want a worse punishment than what's already coming to you, I suggest you stop talking."

Liz cringed at the threat, "Y-yes m'am."

Rebecca nodded once she noticed both girls calmed down, "Now Sam, answer my question."
"I did." Sam admitted, "I told them I was Brooke Davis's daughter and they checked a picture then let us in. But we didn't know that it was gonna be like that I swear! We just wanted to have fun. But then we got there and it was crazy, that's why we called you. We did the right thing! How can you be mad at us?"
"How?" Rebecca said with a raised eyebrow, "Because, Samantha, you shouldn't have been there in the first place."
"Yeah, but-" Sam tried to interject. She knew she was reaching but trying was better than nothing.

"No buts." Rebecca placed a hand on her hip, "There is no excuse. Elizabeth you know better than to go along with Ronnie's schemes. She consistently gets you into trouble and tonight is no different. Samantha you took advantage of your mother's fame, and Tamara, you being the oldest should've at least had the sense to look out for these two, but they ended up having to take care of you. We are disappointed in all three of you."

"We didn't mean to get into trouble." Liz spoke sadly.

"No because you weren't planning on getting caught Elizabeth, and hiding this from us is probably the most upsetting part." Rebecca's tone softened, "A lot could've happened last night. We are so glad you called Sammy, so thank you. But had it not been for Victoria this could've been all over the press. Your names would have been dragged in the mud, and I don't even want to think about what could've happened to you girls if someone tried to take advantage of you."

All three of the girls let their guard down as Rebecca spoke more calmly to them. Sam felt herself tense as she realized that she could have jeopardized her mother's name.

Rebecca took in their pensive faces and sighed, "Samantha and Tamara stay down here. I will tell you when to come up to your rooms."

Liz felt her heart quicken. She knew what was coming.

"Elizabeth, come with me."

Her head looked up with eyes that pleaded for a reprieve, "Mom, no." She whined.

Rebecca rose her eyebrow. She extended her hand for her daughter to grab onto, "Come on Lizzie."

Sam and Tamara looked at each other, then back at Liz. They could tell Rebecca wanted to talk/scold her daughter alone, which is why she didn't want them upstairs when it happened.

Liz looked down at her lap then back up. "Can't I stay here?"
Rebecca was losing patience, "You want to talk here Elizabeth? Do you really want to do that?"
Liz's heart sunk. She knew what "talk" meant and no, she was not particularly fond of having an audience while her mother spanked her like some little kid. Once when she was twelve she thought that refusing to go upstairs with her mother would work while her grandmother was over and, to Liz's ultimate surprise and embarrassment, her mother had no qualms of pulling her pants and panties down and placing her over her knee for a good spanking. Of course, that was family, and friends were different. But Liz didn't want to push her luck.

She shook her head sadly and grabbed her mom's hand. Rebecca turned to the other girls, "I'll let you know when to come up girls." She then kissed her daughter's forehead, "Come on bug, let's go up."

Liz held tight to her mother's hand and shook her head angry at herself for being dumb enough to go along with Ronnie...again.

…. …. ….

Sam let out the breath she hadn't realized she was holding once Rebecca allowed them to go into their respective rooms. She passed by Rebecca's bedroom and could hear the remnants of Liz's crying. She was sniffling and hiccuping and could see from the cracked door that Rebecca was sitting by her, rubbing her back, with a glass of milk on her bedside table. Sam sighed knowing that after talking to her parents she'd probably be just as remorseful.

"What a kid." Tamara mumbled when she heard Liz.

Sam gave her a shove, "Leave her alone T. I don't doubt you'll be crying too after Camille gets you."

The older girl shrugged, "Doubtful."

"I'm so screwed T." Sam whispered as she went into the room with Tamara even though she was supposed to go into the room where her parents were staying, but she'd take advantage of Rebecca's diverted attention.

"Well let's watch some TV and try and forget about it. Look, Sam, I doubt whatever your parents do will be half as bad as the shit we've been through already, right?"
Sam turned to look at her, "Yeah T, but this time it's different."
"Why?"
Sam bit her lip, trying to figure out herself why it was different, "Because I love them."
Tamara just blinked blankly at Sam's statement then turned towards the TV and hit the on button on the remote.

Sam was about to get comfortable when Rebecca came stalking in, "Turn that off Tamara."
The girl just rolled her eyes and did so without a fight. The woman then lasered her stare towards Sam, "And where are you supposed to be?"
"You said go upstairs. I'm upstairs."

Rebecca snapped her fingers, "Get up smart ass."

Sam sighed but dragged herself up, she felt the woman's eyes bore into her as she crossed through to the other room.

"Your parents will be here in an hour." She then gently put her hand on Sam's shoulder to stop her from walking, "What's with the attitude?" She whispered so Tamara wouldn't hear her.
"I don't have one." Sam said, unfortunately, with attitude.

Rebecca lifted her eyebrow, "Oh, really?"

Sam's face fell when she realized that she had been proven wrong. Rebecca sighed along with her and let her go. She spoke more kindly,

"Watch your step Sam. You don't want to get in more trouble do you?"

"No, I don't."

"Alright, go on into the room and stay there until your parents come."

Sam was sitting in the room finishing up a book for Haley's class. She kept thinking back to her parents and how mad her dad was yesterday. Sure, he was really sweet when he tucked her in, but she knew it didn't mean that everything was over. Oh God. She was so anxious. Just then she heard the knob turn. Her eyes instantly went towards the door. Her mother came into view. Sam's eyes fell with guilt and she slowly put the book next to her.

Brooke stood by the door and crossed her arms around her chest. Sam could tell her mother was glaring at her. She shifted but refused to look up at her, feeling very vulnerable at the moment. Her mother was wearing her business casual clothes and her face and hair were all made up, meanwhile her own hair was down and messy and she was only in short running shorts and her sleeping shirt from the night before. She also hadn't interacted with her mother since yesterday morning and so having her there now made her want to run and hug her, but she was in trouble. She really did miss her though. She hadn't realized how much until she saw her mother standing in front of her. Sam didn't know how to deal with the conflicting emotions so she just plucked at the fur of her bear.

For Brooke's part she was just glad to see her daughter safe and sound. She was no longer angry like she was yesterday. All of that had calmed down and she was glad. She could see how anxious her kid was. She stood firm though and let the quiet envelop them for a moment.

"Samantha-" She finally spoke.
Sam looked up at her with watery eyes and stopped whatever her mother was going to say, "Mom, I missed you." She said, then quickly looked back down and sniffed, "And I'm sorry." She figured she had to say that too.

Brooke let her hands back to her sides and went to sit next to her daughter. Sam instantly fell into her mother's arms.

Brooke hadn't been sure what to expect when she went in. Rebecca told her that Sam was a bit uppity that morning and had a small attitude with her, and Brooke was fully prepared to scold her for that on top of everything else, but she realized that her girl had probably acted that way because she was upset that her and Lucas weren't there in the morning, though it didn't excuse her actions. Brooke squeezed her tight.

"I know it was only one day, but I really did miss you mama. I'm not just saying that to get out of trouble." Sam said softly, happy to be in her mother's embrace, even though she knew she'd have to face the consequences of last night's shenanigans soon.

Brooke patted her daughter's back, "I missed you too sweetheart." Sam melted into her mom and Brooke struggled to not melt right along with her. Sam was being so lovable and cuddly that it was making it hard for Brooke to envision that they had to punish her soon.

And it was true, Brooke had missed her daughter throughout the whole fashion show. She was thinking of her little monster even as every media outlet interviewed her, and each time a question about Sam came up Brooke's face just lit up.

Sam's arms stayed wrapped around her mother's neck as she inhaled her mother's scent, "I was wondering where you and dad were this morning." She said softly.

"Is that why you had an attitude with Rebecca this whole day?" She asked lifting her chin from Sam's head.

Sam blushed. Damn, Rebecca actually told her? Traitor.

"Yes. I was upset that you and dad weren't here." She conceded, "You guys have been so busy this whole week. But I know it's for work and you have to do it."

For a slight moment Brooke felt a twinge of worry when she thought how Sam would deal with having to share her parents with a sibling. She knew that it would happen sooner or later. But if Sam had grown upset with having to share her parents with the fashion world, what would it be like with another child? But that was completely different, right? Brooke shook the thought away in a quick second. She would voice her concern with Lucas at a later time. For now, she would focus her attention on her one and only little one.

"Well you have us here now kiddo. Dad's downstairs. But no more of that, okay? You are 14. There are better ways to voice your unhappiness than being difficult. You're going to apologize to her later on. An attitude won't get you anywhere."

"Yes m'am." Sam replied, knowing her mother wasn't expecting anything other than that reply, though she did want to point out the fact that she didn't throw a tantrum and that's something that she probably would've done a few months ago. But, she had to play her cards right.

"Good." Brooke responded and hugged her daughter tighter. She decided the time for more hard words would come soon, but for now she'd love up her daughter, "My little peanut. I'm so glad you're okay."

The mother didn't let go until Sam chose to and when she did, the girl immediately got into a sitting position facing her mother.

As if on cue Lucas walked in, "Perfect timing." Brooke remarked with a smirk once she saw the frown form on Sam's face.

Lucas sat beside Brooke and both parents were now looking at their squirmy daughter.

They had agreed that Brooke would say her piece first as he had talked to her some already.

"Sammy, look at us please." Brooke directed her.

Sam tensed, her mother's voice wasn't cooing at her like it had been moments ago, now it was stern again and she wasn't sure if she liked the change in pace, but knew that she had to agree. She slowly lifted her face and tried hard not to cry. She was aware that she was prolonging the inevitable, because of course she was going to cry, but she wanted to remain as strong as possible. She had looked too much like a baby already, thank you very much.

"I'm sure your dad and Rebecca already talked to you about how what you did was extremely dangerous."
Sam nodded guiltily.

"And I know you're sorry. We believe you, but I don't think you realize how my heart stopped for a second when I heard you weren't safely asleep but instead you were at some club in the middle of the night. We know that you've been through a lot and encountered drugs and alcohol, but not in this way. Not in the celebrity scene and I know that you can agree with me on that."
"Yes m'am." Sam said sullenly. It was true, she had been exposed to those things before, but they weren't usually being offered to her so freely and there was never such loud music and half naked people as it happened. It was certainly a jarring experience.

Brooke took in her daughter's emotions and softened her voice for a moment,

"Did you feel scared Sammy?"

Oh no, Sam felt her cheeks redden, the tears were sure to come on soon.

She nodded and Lucas and Brooke felt their heart tighten. "I wanted you and dad to get us out of there."

Lucas reached over and put a hand on her knee, "And like we told you, we are so thankful that you called. Champ, if you hadn't and we found out you would have been in a world of more trouble. We're taking your honesty into account. I want you to know that. And besides that there was probably a greater chance that things wouldn't have ended up as good as they did. Things could've happened to you."

Sam bit her lip, "I-I understand."

Brooke jumped in, "And Sam, you also used my name and your current spotlight to get in, and that just shows me how immature you still are."
"Mom, wait, I-"
Brooke put her hand up, "I know you're still growing up Samantha, and you'll make mistakes, but please, please don't ever do that again. I want to be able to trust you again. We both do."
"I'm sorry!" Sam cried at the mention of losing their trust, "I was gonna say that Liz's friend Ronnie told me to do it, I didn't want to. She told me too!"

Brooke nodded, "Okay Sam, but that doesn't make me feel any better. If anything, it just shows me that you're still very impressionable."

Sam frowned, "You can trust me, I promise."

Lucas took a deep breath, and both parents did their best to not tear up, "Champ, not now. We can't trust you right now. I'm sorry. We love you, don't confuse those two. We love you to the moon and back."

Sam felt his words hit her hard and she grabbed a hold of Barry and hugged him tight to her chest as her tears fell.

"Baby, you can gain it back. We promise you can. It's just for now, dad and I won't be too keen on letting you go to social activities outside of extracurriculars. Parties are probably off the table for a while. I know that you haven't been to many since you've been with us, but if you get invited I don't think we'll let you go. And letting you stay home alone makes me a little nervous now too."
"But mama" Sam said distressed, "Please, it's different. I know Tree Hill."

Brooke shook her head, "That may be true Sam, but that's just the way things will be. We'll talk it out situation by situation and go from there."

Sam hugged Barry tighter and wanted to say that this whole thing wasn't fair but she knew that would only make things worse for her.

Lucas looked to Brooke and then took a deep breath. They wanted so badly not to do this, and he was sure Brooke felt more of a burden as she was the one to carry the next part of this whole thing out.

"Champ, you're grounded next week. You'll be working at your mother's store after school and Millie will drop you off if mom is at the office and can't pick you up after, or I can't pick you up."

Sam expected some sort of grounding, and honestly something much longer, so she just nodded. She just knew Manny was going to kill her since she wouldn't be at practice for those weeks. If Sam was thinking more clearly she would've realized why her parents gave her a shorter grounding.

"And Sammy, this part we want you to listen and listen carefully, okay?" Lucas said.
Sam looked at them, "O-okay."

"Do you remember what we told you would happen if you put yourself in major danger and deliberately disobeyed us?" Brooke asked.

Sam knew what that meant. She had half been expecting it, but she had pushed it to the back of her mind. The question still surprised her and her eyes widened a bit.

"Sam?" Lucas tried.

"I don't want you to!" Sam whined.

"What did we say Sam?" Brooke pushed again.

Sam wiped the tears that started to fall, "You said you were going to s-spank me." She blushed and looked back down, "I don't want that. It's for kids."
"And you're our kid. And you certainly didn't act like an adult by sneaking out of the apartment." Brooke interjected, "You're not supposed to want it. It's a punishment. But we warned you Sam. You did this fully aware that it was wrong." Lucas added.
"But I called you!" Sam said working herself up.

"And if you hadn't then you would've been grounded for longer and your spanking would probably be a much harder one." Brooke spoke not missing a beat.

Sam just pouted and looked away. Looking much like the indignant child, that she was trying hard not to look like.

Lucas spoke up, "Sam this is happening whether you like it or not. But we need to make sure you at least understand why."

Sam looked at them, with frustration written all over her face, "You don't have to spank me though. I won't do it again." She felt her lip tremble, "Can't you just ground me for longer? And what about everyone in the house?"

Brooke shook her head, "Rebecca took them to get food. And you, dad, and I all agreed to this. And you understood it then. We're not going to back out. We made you a promise. We love you too much to not do this sweetheart. It'll all be over soon, and then we can move on."

Sam thought back to her beltings and paddlings. She looked at them with doe eyes, "Are you, are you gonna use s-something like a hairbrush or something on me? I'll be good, you don't have to do that.." They had reassured her about this before, but the moment had made her forget.

Lucas moved to sit on the other side of Sam. He picked her up and set her on his lap. Were they going to spank her? Yes, but he would make damn sure that his baby wasn't afraid that they'd cause her an abusive amount of pain. He felt his heart sag when Sam immediately molded into him. He took a deep breath, "Baby girl, Mama and me would never, ever, use more than our hand. Okay? Cross our heart and hope to die."

Sam nodded into him, resigned to the idea. She could tell she couldn't cry or beg herself out of this one. And if they were only going to use their hand, then maybe it wouldn't be that bad? Then again, their swats always made her bottom slightly sting….But, wait...were they both gonna spank her? That'd be horrible.

"Who-who's going to" Her voice was a squeak, "You know..."
"Mama is." Lucas answered before she could get the question out. Sam tensed. Brooke was going to do it? She had expected her dad to say that he would. She suddenly didn't want to look at her mother.

Brooke, on the other hand, felt her heart fall when Lucas told their daughter the news. She would be the one to make her child cry and she didn't want to, but she knew she had to. They had agreed she'd do it because this was Brooke's event and Sam had technically taken advantage of her fame. Sam looked so small compared to her and Lucas and it just made everything that much harder. Brooke was lost in her thoughts of worry but could see Lucas coo words of assurance into their daughter's ear and Sam nod as he spoke.

Sooner than both Brooke and Sam wanted it to happen, Lucas gently moved Sam back to the bed and kissed her forehead, "I'll be downstairs. I love you champ."

Lucas then kissed Brooke's cheek, "It'll be okay." He whispered to her.

The door closed and Brooke sighed as she looked at her daughter who refused to look at her.
"Sammy do you really not understand why this is happening ?" Brooke asked her gently. She wanted to make sure her daughter wasn't resentful. She wouldn't carry this out until Sam really could comprehend why they were doing this.

Sam shook her head, "I get it." She whispered, "I just don't want you to do it."

Brooke gave her a sad smile, "Come on, stand in front of me baby."

Sam stood up slowly and looked at her mother with a bit of uncertainty but went to stand in front of her anyway. Brooke placed her between her legs which made Sam feel childish but she thought better of saying so.

Sam shifted from foot to foot and Brooke took her hands waiting for Sam to meet her eyes, "I love you Samantha. I am your mother and you're my precious little girl. It's my job to make sure you stay in line. You snuck around last night and got stuck in a really bad situation. I really hope this will keep you from doing that again."

Sam wiped at her eyes with the back of her hand. She felt her mom lift her over sized t shirt and hook her fingers in the waistbands of her shorts. Her hands immediately went to grab them, "Mom-"
"They're coming down Sammy."
"Mama please." Sam felt her heartbeat quicken and she looked at her with big, sad eyes, "I don't want you to. Leave them on."
"Move your hands Samantha." Brooke said more sternly, "I'm just going to pull your shorts down but I'm leaving your panties on. Had you not called your dad this would've happened on your bare bottom, but if you struggle I can resort to that too."

Brooke had to keep reminding herself that her daughter could've been drugged, assaulted, and hurt. She had to keep telling herself that her daughter had purposely disobeyed. If she didn't she couldn't have gone through with the task.

Sam let her shorts go as soon as she heard that. She felt as her mother pulled them down and hung her head as they pooled at her legs. Sam was left clad in her shirt and her green and grey striped cotton panties. Usually her mom seeing her as such was a normal occurrence, but under this situation Sam felt practically naked. Nonetheless, Brooke helped her out of her shorts and without saying anything else her mother pulled her over her lap

Sam instinctively put her hand back, "No!" She said forcefully, finding her voice once more. This was completely not fair now!

Brooke grabbed her daughter's hand and moved it out of the way, "Don't reach back Sam, please. I love you and I promise it won't last long." Brooke wasn't sure if she was supposed to say that or not, but she wanted it to end just as much as Sam did.

Sam sniffled, and with that Brooke took a deep breath, steeled herself and let her hand fall. She felt her heart break when she heard Sam begin to cry.

She ignored her daughter's cries and promises of "Mommy, I'll be good!" and "I won't do it again mama!" though the mother did tear up through the whole thing. She held firm even though Sam was squirming and kicking on her lap. But once it was over Brooke gently, but quickly moved them so her head was resting on the headboard, with Sam stretched out right beside her, her head on Brooke's chest. Brooke lifted Sam's shirt above her panties to make her as comfortable as possible. Sam's red bottom was peeking out of her panties where her sit spots were.

Sam had an arm clutched around her mother's waist tightly, and her other hand was rubbing her smarting backside, though it seemed pointless so she gave up on that quickly. Sam's cries had filled the room during the spanking and after was no different. Brooke kept rubbing her back, "Shhh baby. It's over now." She cooed to her.

"That really hurt!" Sam cried and clutched her mother tighter.

Brooke kissed her forehead, "I'm sure it did. I hope you learned something peanut. Can you tell me what you learned?"

Sam had never felt so childish and chastised, and yet she felt safe and loved and forgiven. She had been spanked before, but this was different. Her mother held her afterwards and she actually wanted that. She wanted to be held, instead of wanting to run from the person who had spanked her. And even though it hurt like hell, it wasn't like the brutality she faced anywhere else. This was a genuine punishment, and even Sam could understand that. It was so overwhelming so Sam just cried it out and Brooke let her.

Sam spoke through her crying, "It was danger-dangerous and imma-immature an-and I have to listen and t-trust when you and daddy tell me not to do some-something or g-go some-somewhere! I'm sorry!"

Brooke rocked them both a bit, "Shhh, princess. It's okay. I'm glad you learned your lesson. I love you so much."

"I lo-love you too."

Brooke started humming the song that she occasionally thought of when she saw her daughter sleeping because humming and singing always soothed their daughter and Brooke was eager to get her daughter to calm down. Though, Lucas was more of a singer than she ever could be so she stuck to humming.

Soon Lucas came into the room. Sam's crying had waned some, though her breath was still shuddering and she was hiccuping with occasional tears. Their daughter didn't look up but Brooke did, and Lucas saw the red eyes that she donned.

"Dad's here baby girl." Brooke cooed,"Wanna go with him?"

She was about to pull Sam gently from her but Sam tightened her hold on her mother and whimpered out a "No, don't." She wasn't ready to let go of her mother just yet.

Brooke sighed but patted her back, "Okay, okay. Dad'll just come over here with us."

Lucas went over, took off his shoes and slipped in next to Sam. He remembered how clingy Brooke was with Karen after she had received a spanking and he was just the same. It didn't surprise him that Sam didn't want to let go of her mama. He grabbed Barry that was left at the edge of the bed and placed him between Sam and her mother. Sam only gave out a few shuddering breaths. She didn't want to talk much, She just wanted to feel their protection and warmth. He spooned them both as his hands reached Brooke, and started to pick up on the song that Brooke had been humming. His voice was soft and soothing.

Every long lost dream led me to where you are

Others who broke my heart they were like Northern stars

Pointing me on my way into your loving arms

This much I know is true

That God blessed the broken road

That led me straight to you

Brooke smiled deeply and they both held on tight to their daughter. "I love you." Brooke whispered to him as he gave her a small wink and kept on singing softly.

I think about the years I spent just passing through

I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you

But you just smile and take my hand

You've been there you understand

It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true.

The song died gradually on his lips once Sam's breathing evened out and they realized she was asleep.

"Lucas that was so hard." Brooke said feeling her voice break as she kissed the top of their daughter's head.

He looked at her with deep sympathy, "I'm sorry babe. We had to." He moved his arms and started to rub their sleeping daughter's back, "I really hope this doesn't have to happen in a very long time, or ever."

They both looked down at her at the same time and Sam was curled tightly into her mother, her face partially hidden in Brooke's chest.

"She's clingy." Brooke noted, "I hope she doesn't wake up still upset."
"She might want one of us to sit next to her on the plane. We'll just have you or me switch with Tamara. Bur she'll be fine. We always were afterwards anyways." He said with a small chuckle.

Brooke rolled her eyes and smiled down softly at their daughter, "God, I love our kid."

"Ditto." Lucas reached over and kissed Brooke on the lips, "I love her hot mom too."

"Lucas, stop." She admonished him, though couldn't help the smile that formed on her face.

He smiled widely at her, "How long should we let her sleep for?" He asked.

Brooke thought for a moment, "The flight leaves at 7. She can sleep for two hours or so."

Lucas nodded, "We should start packing. Let me grab her blanket so we can tuck her in."

He got off slowly then picked up the blanket that Sam had draped on the foot of the bed. He waited for Brooke to unhinge herself from Sam and get off the bed.

"Babe, can you pick her up so I can lift the covers? It's cold in here because of the A/C and I don't want her getting sick again." She spoke quietly so as not to wake her. It had taken almost an hour to get her to calm down and then finally asleep, and Brooke was not up for her waking up. The girl was cried out and needed her rest and Brooke needed to compose herself too.

Lucas carefully picked Sam up bridal style without waking her and then laid her back down once Brooke pulled back the covers. Lucas placed her blanket on her the way she liked it, with it hugging her front side and reaching her neck and put Barry in between her arms. Brooke then once more lifted Sam's shirt right above her panties, just so it wasn't touching her bottom and was careful that the covers didn't put too much pressure on her. They both kissed her forehead,

"Have a good nap princess." Brooke whispered.

"We love you champ." Luke said after kissing her.

They carefully walked out and went to pack Sam's things first, feeling relieved that they knew exactly where their daughter was. Maybe another trip to New York could wait a while. Tree Hill was much better for them.

I struggled so much with this chapter and how Brooke and Lucas would deal and how Sam would react. I really hope you like it. Many of you wanted it to go down this way, or at least the majority of those who vocalized it wanted Sam to receive a spanking. I'm sorry to anyone who is displeased. Please let me know what you think! I love you all so much and are the reason I write even though my life is so crazy right now (hence the long wait time)!
