The end of the semester was coming and it was time to lock down and get cracking. The campus library had a higher population this week than normal. Three quarters of the computers were taken by students while the check-out line spread so long it wrapped around half a dozen book cases.

Mike Mizanin was one who was worried about his grades and was desperately trying to bring up one of his B's to another A. Not only did The Miz want to bring up his GPA but it had also became a priority to impress his girl; not to mention a certain ex-boyfriend had now returned so it was now extra important to him to impress her.

The blonde man pulled out a book from one of the shelves to see that it was covered with dust. After blowing it off he found out it was exactly what he was looking for; Introduction to Physics Vol. 3. A relieved breath came from his lips, it took him half an hour to finally find it.

Out of nowhere another guy stood next to him to pick through the bookshelf. Mike turned his head to see the devil himself, Cody Rhodes. Cody held a not so pleasant smirk on his face as he effortlessly looked through the books.

"Well, well, look who I ran into." You could even hear the smug smirk that Cody wore through his tone. Irritation only rose within The Miz but he held his ground and met his match.

"A pleasure to see you here." The man smirked back with much sarcasm.

"I have to admit I'm shocked. Seeing you in a place that doesn't involve booze and cheap women puts a dent in your usual routine. I guess everyone was right, falling in love with Eve did change you."

The blonde began to cringe when that word was mentioned but he had to stay cool and nonchalant. He began to loosen up while he spoke, "We're really not on the "I love you" basis, but yes you heard right…I guess."

Cody observed his uncomfortable stance which made his pleasure rise. "Oh you're not? See Mike you shouldn't have told me that, it just shows me I have even more of a shot getting back with Eve. You see me and her were on an I love you basis. And unlike you I'm not scared enough to tell her right now."

Any positive expression on Mike's face faded to transform into a threatening glare. His whole body shifted from nonchalant to serious really quickly. "We've only be a thing for 2 and a half weeks, but don't get any mistake you have no chance."

"Only 2 and a half weeks? It only gets better. Who would pick 2 and a half weeks over 8 months?" Cody's smirk was hardly a smirk anymore but it was more of a smile, a relieved one at that.

"You haven't been here all year. Eve got over you extremely quick thanks to my help." The student closed the book in his hand before moving his feet and walking down a new isle, in which Cody followed.

"I know you have your ways with the ladies but you must have forgotten that what Eve and I had was real. Besides, I'm Cody Rhodes. That speaks for itself."

"You're so modest."

"Like you?"

"Fair point."

"Look, Miz. I don't plan on going down on this thing without a fight. I know how you are with girls, you get bored quickly and then drop them…Save yourself the trouble."

"You don't give Eve enough credit to think she's anything like those other girls. I care about her and I'm not planning on letting her go so you really just need to find new priorities."

It was a stare down. Two of the schools finest battling it out to the death for this one girl. In one corner sat Cody Rhodes, one of Covington's elite. He was ready for an all-out brawl to get his lady back on his arm and to regain the title of power couple. In the other corner was a popular face on Covington's campus, Mike Mizanin. He wasn't searching to be power couple rather he was focused on being hand and hand with the woman he'd fallen for.

"I have a question for you. What's Eve all-time favorite TV show?" The dark haired man asked, his eyebrow was raised as he awaited his opponents answer.

"90210, why?"

"Wrong actually, it's Gossip Girl. I had to sit through numerous seasons with her but I eventually caught on. It's about the elite kids in Manhattan. It's no different here at Covington, there's an elite group that all of the other students strive to be."

"I'm guessing you suppose your one of them." Mike rolled his eyes, it didn't take long for him to see where this was going.

"I don't think, everyone knows that it's Cena, myself, Randy, Barbie, Maryse and of course Eve."

"That's literally the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Someone think's highly of themselves."

"And again, like you don't. I'm just trying to remind you of your place."

"I don't have time for these games of yours to get Eve back to regain your power or something, I don't know. I have a girlfriend to go see and tests to go study for." The blonde pushed past him in attempt to get the last word but Cody intervened.

"I admit, I am selfish about some things but not this. All I want is my best friend back, it's only a matter of time."

With those words Mike's whole body snapped around. His heavy hand pointed firmly at him to emphasize his point. "Don't you dare go anywhere near her or you'll regret it! You two are done, you made that decision after bailing on her last year. She'll always hate you for that, you're history."

Cody watched as the guy stormed off. Angrily he shoved the books in the bookshelf. Rhodes was not in the mood for competition, especially not when that competition went by the name Mike Mizanin.

Barbie Blank had been looking through webpages for hours. Homecoming was within only a couple of days and there were still tons of decisions to be made. The winners had to pick a charity to donate the money too and Barbie couldn't decide which one.

The donations and charities weren't the only thing harassing her thoughts; Barbie might have matured sophomore year but she still strived to hold that title. She was on homecoming court all four years of high school and she expected to continue that legacy until college. It was already clear who was going to be homecoming king, John Cena would take that. It was at the point where they should just rename Covington to Cenaton.

The blonde's thoughts were broken as a thick French accent came into ear reach. When she turned her head she saw another blonde walk in. Maryse held a smile on her face and a picnic basket in her right hand. In her left hand help a telephone that was placed over top of her ear. Barbie assumed that she was talking to her mother, not a lot of people some French here.

The French Canadian said her goodbyes before hanging up iPhone and looking towards her best friend.

"What's in the basket, Ryse?" Barbie barely focused on her friend but instead on the computer screen in front of her.

Presents to ensure my win." A smile came across the platinum blondes soft coated lips, this caused Barbie to look up at her.

"Well good luck. Who'd you choose to sponsor?"

"Sponsor?"

"Yeah. It's not like high school homecoming M, there's no crowns or music. Just the title, sash, and a big check for the charity of your choice.

"I don't know I'll just give it to some starving kids or something." The woman sat down next to Barbie and pulled out one of her little treats from her picnic basket. Maryse began pinning one of her "Vote Maryse" ribbons to Barbie's sweater.

"Very nice…" You could hear the lack of enthusiasm in her voice, she closed her laptop and put it aside.

"I've got this amazing red dress to wear for the day. It matches these ribbons. It's stunning."

"Maryse it's homecoming at a football game. You have to wear our school colors. You know, something blue or silver…"

"Barb, neither are my color."

"You do realize our opponents that day have the school colors red and black, don't you?

"Yeah, so?"

Barbie couldn't help but roll her eyes at the delusion from her best friend. She began to unclip the ribbon from her clothing.

"So you know that Cody Rhodes is back right. Oh, and he looks damn cute too. Maybe I'll invite him by yours later…me and him need to reconnect." A smirk came across the women's lips.

"You and Cody?" Barbie began to laugh at that as she raised her eyebrow at Maryse. "You and I both know you just want to get with him because he's Eve's ex and maybe there's a Gilmour of hope that she gets jealous and Mike ends up single again so you can swoop in. Don't do that to yourself Ryse, I know you like Mike even if you don't like to admit it but don't do that to yourself."

Maryse's expression spoke volumes. The woman looked devastated and pitiful. Her feelings for Mike were driving her insane and she didn't know if she was grateful for her honesty or not.

Barbie saw her loss of words and began to speak to fill the silence. "You're my best friend and I know how attached you are but this plan will only lead to more heartbreak. I'm sorry M." Now her arms were wrapped around Maryse in a friendly, comforting embrace.

"Thanks B."

With Barbie Maryse showed something she usually didn't, vulnerability. Whenever the two were together they felt safe from judgment and protected by the difficulties of life. That's what made them the perfect pair, all walls were down.

AJ was sitting on her twin bed with eyes locked on her door awaiting a knock. April had asked Phillip Brooks to stop by only fifteen minutes ago to activate her plan. The woman was vulnerable and depressed and couldn't help but feel like playing life safe was becoming pointless.

What the brunette was planning on doing was risky but it was a risk worth taking. When a knock approached the wooden door a smirk pressed upon her lips while pushing away any uncertain emotions. It didn't take long for the door to open, Punk's eyes stared directly into hers, you could tell he was worried about her – how cute – AJ thought.

"Hey, I'm sorry I was just getting back on campus when you called. Are you okay?"

"I'm okay. I need you right now."

Phil couldn't help but raise his eyebrow at the eagerness of the woman but he just nodded along figuring it was like any other night. "Alright then…I'll connect us to my Netflix account and order in some Chinese, I'm all yours."

Again, how cute. "No. I don't need Netflix and food, I said you." AJ began to grip on the man's shirt collar greedily. He observed her stature; lightly she was biting down on her lip while her eyes were hungry. It didn't take long for Phil to catch on, he was a little caught off guard. His paws cuffed hers as he steadily pulled her away.

"AJ, AJ. I don't know what happened but you're just sad and upset and you're acting on it. Maybe we should just go out-"

"So what if I'm acting on my emotions? All I want is to feel craved and wanted, I don't believe that's too much to ask!" The bitter tone was very present in the woman's voice, Punk was still not convinced but AJ could see the wheels turning within him so she decided to take it to her advantage.

"Look, you and I are good people. We're damn good people! We've been nothing but faithful and where has that gotten us? Nowhere! I so desperately want to be with Dolph right now but guess what, I am on the least of his thoughts while your ex-girlfriend is all he wants and craves and that's always how it's going to be! And I'm pretty sure all you want right now is to be with Eve after you've been nothing but good for her ever since you met her but who is she with right now? Your supposed best friend is with her, that's who!"

The tatted man began to drop his hands and his walls, maybe April was right. What were they holding themselves out for? They needed to cope with their feelings and move on and their current strategy wasn't working all too well so why not experiment.

April was becoming even more eager and in need of some emotional contact and she obviously wasn't going to get it from Dolph so why not go for the next best thing. AJ began to press soft kisses on his neck, she felt him begin to tense up but he loosened up after each kiss.

The brunette pulled away from that small embrace and began to tug at his t-shirt. AJ began to pull it off while staring down the eyes of her prey. The two both took deep breaths as they awaited was about to happen but they were on an equal agreement that they needed it to happen.

AJ took the initiative and began to kiss down his tatted chest. The kisses were sloppy and hungry. They led down to his waist line but the woman began to feel a hand stick to her neck and pull her up. Their lips crashed against each other's and they began to rip away at each other's clothes hungrily. And who said Covington wasn't interesting?
