Today was a big day at Covington University due to it being their annual homecoming football game. Everyone ranging from fathers and daughters to Covington's own students and faculty fled the stands in navy blue and silver to honor the Covington Bulldogs. It was coming down to the last few seconds of the 1st half and it was 17-21. It was the Bulldogs chance to grab a hold of the lead as they held the ball on the opposing 20 yard line, there was only 7 seconds left and the crowd was roaring. Leave it to John Cena to pull a hail-Mary to take the lead and to leave a positive energy on the crowd and the players.
In the front two rows of the student section were some of Covington's most popular faces. In one seat stood a fiery redhead, who went by the name of Maria. Although Maria's hair was a tone of red her attire was an explosion of blue and silver. In Maria's right hand held a blue foam finger while on her head wore a Covington's bulldog's hat. Her school spirit went off the charts this week as she yelled out John Cena's name continually as a way of support.
A couple seats down from her stood Mike Mizanin and Eve Torres with school-spirited attire as well. Their enthusiasm was so spontaneous even people on the opposing side could see it, not only because they appeared on the big-screen four different times.
Next to the pair stood AJ Lee with a heavy roar. The comradely that came in these type of events felt simpler to her after her recent week with Phillip Brooks. It was as if their friends with benefits relationship loosened her up in all aspects of life, especially social.
On the sidelines held a much different emotion. Instead of the cheering and laughs the players felt the pressure head on. Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and John Cena strayed away from the group as they talked in the huddle formation. Orton and Rhodes were the best receivers there and John needed them to be aware of the ball at a time like this.
As much as Randy wanted to stay focused at this moment and hear out everything John was illustrating his focus couldn't help but be somewhere else – in the crowd. His blue eyes watched as Brie Bella stood in the crowd, her face held such a smile, too bad he didn't know it was only a front. In this fleeting moment it was one of the only times that Brie had cracked a smile all week, the man stared to the ground and breathed in and out to release any frustration.
Time was ticking and the huddle was broken up. All men had to walk back onto the field in their position and await what was happening next. Although this wasn't a win or lose situation it was still very important to the fans and the players to pull out the lead, after all this was homecoming.
The whistles went off and John Cena's eyes watched the field as he gripped onto the ball. He saw one open man and shot the ball with all his might so it could reach the back of the field. Cody Rhodes, number 24, caught the ball and ran it back 40 yards into the in zone to score a touchdown. The crowd went absolutely wild at that amazing throw and catch; it was a picture perfect moment.
Team mates began to run behind Cody after he caught the football to celebrate in this moment. With a smile spread widely across the football player's face he glanced over the student section to see a certain brunette standing in the front row, his smile only grew. Cody took off his helmet and began to run over to the student section, all eyes stared down at the scene from all viewpoints in the arena.
The dark haired man came to a halt a few feet in front of Eve Torres as he placed a soft kiss on the football only to hand it over to her. In this moment Eve wasn't really too sure on what to do, the spotlight was on this moment and the pressure was on, not to mention her boyfriend is standing right next to her as this is going down.
Cody's stare did what it always did, it paralyzed her. His smile was still spread across his features, it didn't hurt that all the fans were softly hitting Eve and yelling for her to take it. After falling into peer pressure and his gaze the brunette took the football from his hands.
Cody winked at her before turning around to run back into the locker room alongside other teammates; this left Eve in a bit of a predicament. The moment she looked to her right she saw the disappointment plastered on Mike's face. In rage the Miz turned around and began to make his way out of the stands.
"Mike, stop!" But as expected that didn't stop him from moving, but as also expected Eve followed right behind him.
It was now half time and the homecoming nominees were lined up and awaiting to get called out. Barbie Blank stood in line with her hair in a high ponytail (due to her just changing out of her cheer uniform) and a long lace blue dress that touched the floor. The woman looked absolutely elegant. The woman behind her was her best friend, Maryse Ouellet. Her outfit was different than her friends, it was bold and showing. The last female nominee, Eve Torres, stood wearing a short silk blue dress. The dress was as adorable as it was fashionable; although Eve was dressed for the occasion you could tell she wanted to be anywhere but there.
Next to the women stood three gentlemen dressed up in a suit and tie. There was John Cena who was sporting a nice blue tie that matched Barbie's dress and behind him stood Randy Orton who instead of a tie chose a black bow-tie. The guy in the very back went by the name Alex Riley, one of the core reasons he was nominated was because they needed a third filler – it was quite obvious that the star contestants were Randy and John.
The announcer began to call all of them onto the field. The stands were half of the way full, a lot of fans had left to get drinks and snacks from concession stands but the student section was packed full – they were all awaiting to see who would be crowned.
The man on the microphone began to speak about the charities and some facts about Covington College. Then one by one he explained his admiration for the students in front of him. His love for Barbie's strong sense of mind, John's willingness to leadership, Maryse's compulsive need for everything to be perfect, Randy's wittiness, Eve's big heart, and lastly Alex's intelligent mind. It was clear to him that any of the nominees were fit to advertise the school.
"Now only two of these beautiful faces are our winners and I would first like to introduce our King. The winner is John Cena, a member of our junior class who has now been crowned a three time Covington homecoming King."
Shocker, shocker….
The crowd gave a heavy applause as well did the members of the homecoming court. Smiles were spread all around as the jock came up to collect. He was now dressed in a 2014 sash and held a 100,000 dollar check labeled to him directly. After a lot of heavy thought John had decided to support the ALS foundation this year.
Next came the homecoming queen. Maryse felt her heart pounding through her chest. All this sophomore could hope for was that she would be crowned. All Maryse had ever wanted was titles; and what better title then Covington's homecoming queen? It hadn't yet become clear to her that just because you win homecoming doesn't mean that you rule the school; the blonde was trapped in her high school ways.
Although Eve Torres wanted this all she couldn't help but focus on was this guy to stop talking so she could leave and find her boyfriend. Her heart was pounding out of her chest and for all the wrong reasons. Eve just needed this ceremony to end so she could get out of there.
Barbie's attitude was much different than her two rival contestants, she was surprisingly mellow. The woman had come to terms that if it'll be, it'll be. Barbie knew that if she were to lose this it would end up in emotional despair because she wanted to continue her legacy; she wanted to be queen B. But Barbie also knew that there was a chance to win this so for right now all she needed to do was keep her mind at ease and remember that this wasn't just about her legacy but charity.
"And your winner is the reigning homecoming queen, a member of our sophomore class, Barbara Blank."
A smile spread across the woman's pearly whites as she walked up to join John Cena. The crowd's applause was heavy, everyone seemed to be happy, all except a certain French Canadian. Maryse's smile was clearly a fake one, how typical she thought. All the runner up could think to do right now was run off the field in embarrassment but that'd just make things worse.
It was around the start of the fourth and final quarter and Covington led 45-21. It was quite obvious that this was another victory for the history books. With the game nearly coming a close Maria Kanellis decided to walk throughout the stadium to observe what was what. In the redheads right hand she held a bag of blue and pink cotton candy; it was one of her favorite snacks.
The Latina's green eyes looked around the halls to see hundreds of people scattered around. It was truly amazing how many fans came to attend these types of events. There were long lines for almost every concession stand and it was becoming harder and harder to make her way through the crowd. You would think with all these people it'd be impossible to be found, you thought wrong.
Out of nowhere the redhead was pulled away by a man, his grip on her small arm was tight and it was impossible for her to break it. A thousand emotions rushed over the petite woman, the main emotions were fright, shock, and helplessness.
The mysterious man pushed her back up against the wall and then their eyes met. The man was no longer mysterious, she knew him but she just didn't know where from. Then abruptly it hit her. It was the guy from the night out with Maryse – the one who tried raping her.
Maria's green eyes stared into his brown ones and then caught the daggers that came from them. What did he want? Why wouldn't he let go? With all these people around, why was no one stopping him?
"Let go of me! Let go!" The woman shrieked loudly enough for people to hear but again, to her surprise, no one was there to rescue her.
The smirk on the guys lips only grew as he watched her struggle, all the power that he had over her became clear. This was his game and she was just a useless pawn. He began to open up his mouth and the words came out with a tone as intimidating as his structure.
"I'm guessing by your expression you remember me. I've been waiting for this moment for us to meet again, you didn't think I wouldn't finish what I started did you?"
"You lost. Now leave me alone."
A brief chuckle came from him. The frightened stance that the woman held only amused him more. The stranger began to stroke pieces of hair away from Maria's face while blowing onto her neck. This type of embrace was made to soothe your companion; in this situation it did the complete opposite.
"I wanted to finish what I started and I won't stop until I do… look around, there's no one here to save you. There's no John Cena, no helpful stranger, no Maryse then snap!" Chills ran down her body has he physically snapped his fingers, that wasn't expected. When catching the tears in her eyes the man continued, "You're mine….you're gone. See you around little red."
Then he was gone… just as quickly as he came.
The student section was winding down at closing minutes of the game. A lot of people were leaving to grill up burgers and hotdogs in the parking lot, go get drunk with some friends, or were just trying to avoid traffic. Phil Brooks stood in the fourth row with clapping hands and a big smile as Ron
Killings ran another touchdown.
He leaned down and grabbed his jacket from the one of the bleachers; it was time for him to become even drunker than he was. Suddenly he felt his phone vibrate n his pocket and it was a text from his good friend AJ. A smirk pursed across the man's lips when she came to mind.
Punk skimmed over the text and read the three words that every man wants to here in his life time. "My car now."
The smirk grew wider as he made his way out of the stadium to the parking lot. His steps were fast and heavy; he really wanted to get to his desired location as soon as possible. Phil had to push past backed up cars and drunken class mates but he finally got to AJ's cute little jeep, oh how he loved that jeep.
When Phil opened the passenger door he peaked into the back to see that the seats were down and the trunk was even bigger than usually. There April laid wearing nothing but a pair of black panties with a matching victorias secret bra.
"What took you so long?"
"Sorry Baby lot's of traffic. But I'm here now." The tatted guy got into the vehicle while simultaneously unbuttoning his shirt. His partner reflected the smirk as she adjusted to her knees and began helping him with the unbuttoning.
"Gosh, I was just looking at you in the stands and I could hardly handle how hot you looked. Have I ever told you how sexy your lip ring is…along with your tattoos?"
"You have at least half a dozen times, but thank you."
The brunette began placing quick soft kisses on his chest while obtaining her facial expression. What was at first so scary for them was now so natural. Don't let his tattoos and piercings fool you, Phillip Brooks was as good as gold as well was the 100 pound woman licking him, it just felt good for them to be bad with each other.
All their frustration was being released on each other not trough words but through sexual actions and it was just better this way. The way his hands clawed through her hair or the way her kisses touched his skin was as soothing as it was unexpected.
Never in a million years did either of them expect to be friends on such a beneficial level but sometimes the oddest matches end up being the best kind.
Eve Torres's anxiety level was currently through the roof. After 11 missed calls to The Miz it finally hit her that she was the last thing he currently wanted to deal with. The woman had just spent the last half hour looking through ever hall, parking lot and corridor for her boyfriend and she realized it was time for her to give up for the day.
A heavy sigh came from her soft lips as she made a detour for a shortcut to Parking lot 17. A little ways down the thoughts that were racing throughout Eve's mind came to a halt when she heard a woman crying. The brunette peaked down a connecting hallway to see a certain ex-best friend sitting on the floor crying her eyes out.
Eve stared down at her hands and then back down the hallway. This happened a couple times until she finally decided to push off her mind and do what her heart was telling her to do. The heels that the woman wore clicked throughout the building and it didn't take long for the redheads head to turn up to see a familiar face looking down at her.
"Great. Go ahead and laugh I'm not in the mood."
"I'm not here to laugh… What's wrong?"
"Why do you care? I wouldn't stop for you if you were crying."
"That doesn't matter…" The woman took a seat next to Maria and placed a hand on her leg to show she was there for comfort. "I know you well enough to know that when you're crying you push people away so that they push even harder to help you. It's much like what I do…"
One of the sniffles that Maria was doing turned into a faint laugh. She nodded in agreement and then found a few words to respond with, it took a while but they eventually came.
"I don't want to talk about that right now…please. I didn't think anyone came back here and I just needed alone time. I couldn't go out to my car looking like this… people actually think I'm strong."
"You are strong. You're strong as hell. That's how I know that when you're crying it's serious…" Eve waited a while to see if Maria would eventually respond and when she didn't the brunette just found words to continue with.
"If you're not going to talk about it with me can I at least sit with you?" To both of their surprises the Latina nodded.
The two sat there for half an hour just staring at the wall. Eve's arms were around her ex-friend for comfort as Maria's face lay on her shoulder puffing out tears. An abrupt noise came from the door at the end of the hallway it then became clear what this abandoned hallway was used for, it connected to the men's locker-room.
All the football players came out with a joint cheer to find two girls sitting in the middle of the hallway in need of comfort. The atmosphere became kind of awkward, all Maria Kanellis wanted was for them to walk by and say nothing and most of them did. There were a few randoms who asked if she was okay while walking by but then there were two who actually made a stop, John Cena and Cody Rhodes.
"Maria what's wrong?" John asked in panic, he was the only one who knew about what had happened that night and knew how vulnerable she was right now.
"Nothing, Eve let's go." The Latina quickly stood on two feet and wiped away the tears that flooded around her face as she stormed down the hall. Maria didn't want anyone to see her in distress but she definitely didn't want to see John Cena of all people.
Eve stood on her two feet and looked at the two guys; she was paralyzed by their stares. Cody's eyes stared her down while John's trailed to the woman storming off. Eventually Eve Torres turned to walk down the hall way to Maria's side. They needed to get out of there.
WOW. So this took me a longgggggg time to write. A LOT happened in this chapter and about every storyline was addressed. I hope you enjoyed the heated up drama on this homecoming day.
