The Starbucks was said to be Covington's Capital. Various breeds of students from all branches of life resorted to the Starbucks Café if they ever needed to unwind, settle disagreements, find a place of solitude, or even just hang out with friends.
Brie Bella was sat down at one of the short booths next to one of the windows; due to the closeness of her and the outside scenery Brie couldn't help but stare blankly into the outdoors.
The dripping of water drops from the damp leaking leaves provided the woman with some sort of comfort. It was as if she preferred the weather to match her depressed mood so she wouldn't have to sulk alone.
Dolph made his way over to the table with a couple cups of coffee in hand. His walk was sluggish; just like his words.
"An Extra shot of expresso, correct?"
"Yeah…"
"Okay, good… I didn't know if it was expresso or steamed milk."
"It was expresso..."
With those few words alone it led to an awkward silence. The unspoken elephant in the room was clearly causing tension between the two but neither could conduct the words to respond with.
"So, Brie…Thanks for calling. I know I'll probably sound like a horrible best friend but I honestly had no idea he was back on this stuff."
"Back on it?"
Brie was suddenly beginning to straw away from the dark. The mood between them saddened, all Dolph could do was sigh and scratch the back of his head.
"You know for how close you two are I'm surprised you didn't know more."
"I didn't realize this was such a known fact."
"Yeah, it kind of is."
The woman swirled the straw in her coffee cup back and forth and back and forth and back and forth. Brianna Bella was 3rd in Covington's freshman class. She had a wide ranged vocabulary and was quick to complete a rant or debate but when it came to this topic she was speechless
"Well good news is doctors said he should be released by noon and he didn't take nearly enough to put him on suicide watch again."
"Again?"
"That wasn't the point I was trying to make…"
"You're right, sorry."
"So do you want t come with me to pick him up?"
The brunette froze in place at that. From outside of the coffee shop a loud rumble of thunder was released from the sky (it was sounded conveniently for the scene.)
"I don't know. I've got a lot of work to do and I don't want to bother him."
"Ah, so you're bailing on him…why am I not surprised?"
"Well excuse me for not wanting to see him! That doesn't mean I'm ditching him."
"Yeah, but that's stage one. I've seen it countless times you're not the first one to encounter this, the rest left just like you."
Dolph stood up to his feet and grabbed his coat off of the chair. His blue eyes stare down at her, it was easy to tell how tight his nerves currently were.
"I've gone through the boyfriend drug addict thing, it's not fun"
"Who said anything about boyfriend? I just expected you to be a friend…I didn't know you were exclusive."
"We're not, I just-"
"Want to be? Or excuse me, wanted."
Before she could even respond the blonde stormed out. Brie guessed it was for the best that he did because the Italian was frozen in place with nothing to say.
As Dolph was walking out he bumped into a certain blonde looking to enter the shop. Barbie Blanks blue eyes shot up to his and a smiled pursed across her lips as she saw his face. Quickly the smile faded when she saw the expression he held.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing, I'll see you later."
Why did he keep walking away from her? The all American woman chased after her friend and grabbed ahold of his arm to bring him to a halt.
"Ziggler if you don't stop running from me I swear to God I'll make you regret it! What's wrong?"
"Threats now?"
"That's right."
The stance that Barbie held was pitiful. The petite 120 pound woman was trying her hardest to look intimidating but all it did was cause a chuckle to release from Dolph's lips. But hey it was a smile, which works too.
"Really, what's going on?"
"Do you know how to keep a secret...?"
"Of course."
"Okay, then come on."
April Jeanette was sitting on Phillip Brooks's bed with one of his oversized t-shirts and a pair of black lace panties.
Seeing AJ in that large shirt was pretty amusing to Phil. The woman was tiny and frail. In several ways she reminded him of a Chihuahua; tiny in size but a spitfire at the same time. It was as if the brunette was drowning in the grey Covington Tee.
Phil watched as her small fingers played with his. A smile was continually placed across his lips which AJ loved. It was a known fact that she loved his lip ring, she loved it even more when he smiled.
"I swear…sex with you is all a man needs in life." The tatted man said those few words with a smirk as he traced her lips with his thumb. Suddenly a small smile came across her lips and Phil had felt it on his skin.
"Really? You mean that…" The brunette began to hover back over him. AJ rubbed her lips together and placed a few small kisses on his chest.
"Really."
"Do my kisses make you forget about Eve?" A small smirk came across AJ's lips as she kissed up his tatted chest. Her hands pawed at his chest plate.
A small smirk pierced across his lips as he rubbed the woman's backside "Who?" With that the smirk was reflected
"Hmm, good answer."
"I want to kiss you until you forget every woman who's ever kissed you..." AJ began to kiss down the crease of his neck and whisper words against his collar bone. "Every woman who's ever smiled at you or flirted with you..." Her kisses trailed down Punk's tatted chest "Every woman who stupidly never gave you the time of day."
"You surprised me…"
The smirk on AJ's face widened at that comment, her shoulders raised cutely. "How's that?"
"I don't know. I really don't have words to explain. You just intrigue me, you leave me breathless."
A smile broke through the woman's hardened exterior at those words. In many ways Punk surprised her too. He made her question the things she once found important, he made her smile at times she used to frown. They made each other push their limits and boundaries unlike what they would've never done before. What started as two insecure college kids was becoming two secure and happy college kids. No longer did AJ Lee spend rainy dreary days inside by herself but instead she spent it with her playmate. A little sex came from it, lots of laughs and just time to sit and discuss life, it was refreshing.
Maria Kanellis spent her Sunday afternoon swiping credit card after credit card. The redhead was stressed beyond belief and when Maria was stressed she ran to her Save Haven, which was Forever 21. In the Latinas Red Suburban sat over a dozen bags of clothes, accessories, and even houseware from several different novelty stores.
Maria was about 30 miles from Covington's Campus. It was getting to the point where everything on that campus irritated her beyond words; her so called "friends", the teachers who were always up her ass, the classrooms that were constantly filled with obnoxious people. Her junior year that she imagined to be perfection ended up being a travesty.
Maria had plans for how this year was going to work out. She was going to be arm and arm with Phillip Brooks, a three time Covington varsity cheerleader, a continued straight a student with a lot of career options, and a best friend to have tons of new adventures with. Instead she ended up being single the whole year without any contact with Punk, depending on the stuck up and conceited Maryse Ouellet and without Eve Torres to do all of these fun adventures with. The two former bffs had planned to spend the summer before their senior year traveling around Europe; it was practically so set in stone that they had thousands put away for years.
Not only was there that weighing her down but now she practically had a stalker on her hands. All night her phone was ringing, it was the guy that John Cena had previously saved her from – she assumed that Maryse gave him her phone number. Why was this guy trying to get back at her though? It's not like she was the one who hit him, that was John? She supposed she was just as easier target.
The first few times it was annoying, the 6th and 7th time it was creepy, beyond that it was just plain scary. Chills ran down her entire body just thinking about it.
A sigh came across the woman's glossed lips as she pulled another dress off the rack. Maria carried all the clothes in her hands over to the cash register and laid them down with a faint smile. The cashier swiped it, rejected. Swiped it again, rejected again.
"I'm sorry ma'am this credit card is invalid."
"What? That has to be some mistake try it again."
The cashier glared at the eager college girl in an irritated form. Her eyes didn't even look back down at the register as she swiped it once more; rejected.
"Invalid, do you have another card?"
"No, I don't-"
"Next in line."
Before the petite woman could respond the customer behind her pushed her way to the front. Maria let out another sigh before putting all of her items down and walking her way out of the store. It didn't make sense, yes Maria had spent a lot that day but her card had over 3,000 dollars on it there was no way she spent that much money in one day. She only bought 4 sweaters, a couple scarfs, 3 scented Yankee candles and a new pillow that matched her comforter.
The heels she was wearing collided against the side walk and echoed around the small city. Her hands were placed in her pockets as she looked up from the ground. That's when she noticed a man. He was standing behind a one of the buildings that led to an ally way. Maria couldn't see her face because the second she saw his figure he hid from her. It became clear fast who it was.
The woman's heart fell like it fell through her chest. Quickly her shopping spree was over and she turned quickly to walk back to her car, or run.
Maria never ran so fast in her life and it was shocking how she could maneuver the run with 3 inch heels. The running was cut short as she ran into something that felt like a brick wall, but a cushioned brick wall – a man.
Her anxiety heightened and decreased all in one second. When her green eyes looked up to see John Cena words couldn't express her relief.
A look of concern was spread all across John Cena's features as he held the woman up from falling backwards. It was easy to tell she was terrified, as if the tears in the corners of her eyes weren't the dead giveaway. "Maria, what's wrong?"
The redhead put her head in his chest and said no words and then it became evident to the golden boy that no words should come from his part, just comfort.
I'm hoping you liked this chapter! Let me just say the comments I got on the last chapter made me so overwhelmingly happy. They really brought so much joy to my Christmas season which sounds lame but is so so true. Please continue to comment and I have another question, who's your favorite girl?
