Here it is! Sorry the last chapter was sucky, I have nowhere to go but up. This part is where tension starts to come to a head. Long chapters ahead.

It's been a week since the frog breath incident, but we're ready to put it all behind us now. I'm adjusting pretty well to Halloween town, I almost don't want to go back. It's not just because my folks will have my head on a platter for this, but I guess since Brie most likely became hysterical after seeing me get eaten up by a pumpkin tree, they'll know I didn't run away. But who can ever trust Brie when she goes nuts? That's why she's my best friend!

Well, the day was like any other. I explore the town a bit, now that everyone's gotten used to having a human now. Jack still thinks someone's going to mug me, but everyone's very nice. I wonder what happened that made Jack so paranoid. Well anyways, after exploring the streets of the town, I went back to my attic in the town hall. Even though you can find anything up there, it got pretty boring until I found a rope and some stuff to make a swing. It was magnificent. The rope swing was perched on a beam outside my window. I was just finishing up when I saw Sally coming my way. "Hi Sally!" I shouted, waving at her madly from my window swing. Sally smiled and waved back. I flew down the stairs and burst out the door to meet her. "How are you doing?" I asked cheerfully. I HAVE been in my attic like Rapunzel all day! Though Sally's smile faded. Something was up. "What's wrong?" I inquired.

"It's the doctor. His experiments are becoming more and more violent. Remember the last time you were there? It's like that, but much, much worse. Jewel and I tried talking to him, but he won't listen. Now Jewel's gone missing, and I need to find Jack so I can set the doctor straight." Sally answered. "Whoa! You mean to tell me all this has been happening AND YOU DIDN'T TELL US EARLIER?" I asked, shocked. Sally cast her gaze down. "I thought it was just a phase. Only a short time ago did I find out it was getting serious. Believe me, I tried." She answered, her voice growing softer with each sentence. I realized how ridiculous I was being. I hugged her and said "Come on, let's find Jack."

HALLOWEEN TOWN, JACK'S HOUSE. NOVEMBER 8th.

We rang the doorbell on Jack's door (well, Sally did. It was a SPIDER, for Ophelia's sake! No way am I touching a giant spider to ring someone's door) and we were greeted by Jack. After we explained the whole situation to Jack, he grimaced. "I knew there was something dubious going on over there." He then turned to me and Sally. "You two stay here. Based on Sally's story, I think things would be too dangerous for both of you."

"What's going on there?" I questioned. "I don't know, but I don't want to lose either of you." Jack answered. He gave Sally a big hug. "Don't worry, Sally. I'll set the doctor back to his old self."

"Just be careful. I don't want him to hurt you as well." Sally responded. Jack raised her head up to meet his gaze. "It's going to be okay. I'll be safe, don't you worry." They hugged each other before he went off to see Doctor Fink. After a while, Sally and I sat down on a nearby park bench. We sat in silence, until I heard some rustling from the bushes. I turned around to see what they were. After a small silence, I turned back, only to have something grab us from behind. "Hey, let go-mph!" I cried out. At first, I though Lock Shock and Barrel were pulling something on us. As I fought to see our attackers, they definitely WEREN'T the trio. The thing that towered over us was something different altogether.

That was the last thing I saw before they gagged us and threw us into their sacks.
