Hey guys! I'm sorry for the lack of an update for this story! I have barely gotten time to sit down and write!
Chapter 3
-boy oh boy-
Serenity felt that the day wasn't going by fast enough. She could feel almost everyone's eyes on her just waiting for her to cause a scene. She kept her best angry face on for the day hoping that it would ward off the idiocy that she was told she would have to face. She sat in the hangar area looking through all the tools.
"Hey…" a female voice said causing her to look up.
"Um… hi... sorry you are?" she asked in confusion of the tall woman.
"I am Arcee." She replied whipping back some of her midnight hair that seemed to just go with her chocolate skin.
"You're one of the female soldiers then…" she mumbled.
"I am." She stated taking a seat in front of the girl.
"It's a pleasure." Serenity stated sticking out her hand. The blond had no idea what to say. The woman was beautiful be she was intimidating at the same time.
"Serenity is an interesting name…" Arcee began.
"Yeah… my dad was kind of into Sailor Moon…" she mumbled scratching her head."He got the name from there."
"I never pegged your father as the type." Arcee laughed.
"No one does whenever we tell them. It's his fault that I am actually such an anime nerd and comic book junkie."
"Interesting. I was half expecting you to be ruder."
"Oh god, I was three when that happened."
"I know but Prime holds a really good grudge."
"True. So Arcee, could you kind of elaborate for me what's actually going on here? I was only given the really basic information."
"Of course… What do you want to know?"
"Anything… maybe about why I have to be here."
"That is something only your father knows. It was surprise when we got the notification about it as well. We know he means well though."
"I see."
The room became silent with that statement. Arcee gave the girl a reassuring smile before leaving her to her own devices. Serenity looked the hangar to see if she could find anything to do. She noticed that her father had entered the hangar looking over some documents.
"Dad!" She called.
"Hey Sere!" He called walking towards her. "How are you accumulating?"
"What a fancy use of words dad." She remarked. "I'm doing fine. I met Arcee."
"How'd that go?" He asked.
"She learned why I was named Serenity." She stated.
Frank rolled his eyes. Of course everyone had to know that he got the name from an anime. It wasn't his fault that his sisters loved watching it. The name grew on him. Serenity gave him a huge grin which he returned with a fatherly smile.
"So what's on the schedule for today?" she asked looking at his clipboard.
"A couple of the jeeps have effed up valves, shot pistons, and need their brakes changes. They're gonna be used in the next mission. You think you can have them fixed before then?" he replied pointing at some vehicles.
"I've seen worse." She stated. "Where can I find the tools?"
"My tool box is already over there and they're already set up on the lifts." He replied giving her a small key. "Use it wisely, Kawasaki ninja."
Serenity laughed and took the key. She walked towards the vehicles and inspected them. She quickly went to the tool box and began to look for all the tools she would need.
"Let's see I'm gonna need torch wrenches, some brake tools, some fancy tools." She mumbled to herself. She hadn't bothered to notice that her father had left her to own devices. She quickly began to look over the vehicles to decipher what types of brakes were needed so she could go ask her father where to get them.
"They're drums…" she sighed. "I hope dad has the pads for this." She grabbed the clipboard that was next to her and began to write down some notes. She made sure to point out the dents she had noticed in the back side of the vehicle.
Serenity felt her head pounding. She felt her chest swelling and her breath was becoming heavy. Her pulse was racing and she was swooning. "Not again…" she whispered remembering the feeling. She crouched down and breathed heavily while seething in pain.
Oh god… why does this always happen when I'm alone… ugh it hurts so much… my stomach and my head are killing me. She groaned as she held herself, while trying to keep tears back. This is worse than my period cramps.
She hunched over and took deep breaths. She felt her body beginning to calm itself and she reached slowly for the water that was near her. She brought the bottle to her lips with shaky hands and took a desperate sip.
"Ugh." She sighed. "I hate when I get like that."
Three Weeks Later
Prime was not happy when he returned, the mission had been somewhat a success, but there had been many injured but everyone, including the newcomers, came back alive. He was tired and frankly he did not want to deal with what was too come.
"The grump is back!" Frank teased patting him on the back.
"I am not in the mood." He grumbled walking to his office.
"You're always grumpy. You should go get drunk and get laid!" He said looking at the ancient being. "Then maybe you would be nicer."
"You shouldn't concern yourself with someone's private life." He said rubbing his neck. "It's going to get you killed."
"But I have you to save me."
"Not if I'm the one killing you."
"Is the great Prince Optimus threatening his closest friend? I'm hurt! After all we've been through."
"I thought it was your wife who did not know when to be quiet."
Frank let out a laugh and swung an arm around Prime. "I do not know when to be quiet either. C'mon, man! I'm your friend. I consider you my son…"
"I am older than you."
"I want to make sure you're able to adjust to the world and learn to not stress out over everything." He continued. "I feel like it is my job as the only human whom you can truly have a friendship that includes the exchanging of toxic air that I must ensure you learn to assimilate to this world."
"Just because I have passed gas in front of you means nothing." He sighed.
"That is a true sign of friendship nerd lord." He said.
"Hey; dad." Serenity called walking up to them.
"It had to be you…" Optimus groaned.
I'll get started on the next chapter. Please enjoy :D
