A/N: I should probably be apologizing for taking awhile with updates, but I won't for two reasons. 1: I'm still hear and promise to finish this story, when I can sit down and write again, hopefully I can do weekly updates, it really depends on the reviews as well. 2: Things are finally beginning to look up for me in the past month or so, so I am taking it as it is. But please just be patient with me, and eventually I'll come back refreshed.

Chapter Twenty-Seven
The chase led nowhere.
Channeling aunt Alice's abilities only left us at the same pace, we were both now frustrated to why it felt as if we were staring through the eyes of a prisoner. It didn't make sense. Whatever we were seeing, was as if I was some sort of animal, sniffing around. But when it came to a stronger connection with my aunt, we were human-like. There had to be more than one approach to this, and whoever they were, were very sophisticated on hiding their scents from us.
The pack had kept to their duties as well as the others, so that meant that the intruders hadn't come by lately. But even that didn't feel right me. I didn't want to worry anyone with my skeptics, but something told me that they were already here, and they were in plain sight… somehow.
This even made me take more precautions in regards of the pack and my family. I was now on watch as much as I could. Everyone had been urging me to take a break, but I found no use since I couldn't sleep. I'd often be up wondering about the things I could have missed, and usually Jacob would sit next to me with Brody asleep in his arms trying to comfort the both of us.
"None of it's making sense Jake." I mumbled with my head rested on his chest while we sat curled up on the sofa. "If I could only find what they're looking for, than maybe I could at least calm down a little. I just don't want you two hurt."
"What about you love?" He pulled me in tighter, "I know you feel you have to be brave for us, but you can't forget that I'm here to protect you and Brody as well. You both are my world, and if someone is out there to threaten that, I won't hesitate to fight till the death."
"I know." I muttered, "I just know that I can do more than this. I keep pushing myself to the limit, maybe it's right in front of my face."
"You need some sleep, that's what it is." Jake suggested, "Maybe it'll come through your subconscious mind. Sometimes dreams awaken things that could be missing."
"I've never thought of that." I admitted, smiling up at Jake just as he kissed me. "If only I can find a way to sleep."
"You want me to sing to you?" Jake teased.
"Believe me babe if that worked, I would get you to sing to me all the time." I chuckled.
"It works for Brody, might for you." I giggled at the thought and smiled, "you sing to Brody?"
"Don't you?" He asked.
"Well… yeah, I just didn't know that you did." I moved in closer and gave Brody a kiss on the forehead, "he's such a lucky baby."
Before I could really say much, I could hear the deep humming coming from Jacob. I had to admit that it was becoming more soothing than I expected. My eyes were slowly closing as I found myself dozing off in Jake's arms. The last thing I could recall was the soft kiss on my forehead.
This was different.
It was dark. I wasn't alone. I could hear the heavy breathing of someone, something close to me. The space was small, and as much as I tried to pick up on my senses, it was like I was walking into the place blind too. The only light that could be seen was through the small barred window on the wooden door.
I struggled to stand and check what I could see. My legs felt so weak. My breathing seemed faltered to this small space. As I stood, I could feel the being next to me prop me up, and that's when I felt the familiar feeling of fur.
'Jake?' I asked dumbfounded.
There was no answer but a small whimper, just like a wolf. But it wasn't my wolf, I knew it wasn't Jake, but I let the vision flow as it was. I was slowly led to the small opening, finding difficult to lean forward to see outside. It was then I was lifted from the wolf as he pushed me up from below. The sun that shun through made it hard to see at first, but I was able to adjust my sight see that we were what looked like the middle of nowhere. There was little snow on the grounds, and a trail that seemed to lead out into the thick forest.
Just as I predicted, we were prisoners.
But why?
What was the purpose?
At that moment I could hear voices. Unfamiliar ones with an accent I hadn't recognized. I could distinguish that there were two men. Both arguing about whose turn it was to feed the scoundrels as they called 'us.'
I was let down quickly when we both heard the footsteps approaching. The wolf snarled and growled from behind me, now covering me and nudging me to move behind it. I was confused to say the least, and as the door opened, a voice warned us that if had attacked, we'd be blinded again, whatever that meant.
Before I could even peep a word to the man on our whereabouts, the door had opened with something thrown towards us. Just as the heavy door slammed, I bolted forward.
I hadn't realized my gasp for air worried Jake until he was already beside me, comforting me as I tried to gather what I had just witnessed. With Jacob asking me if I was all right, all I could reply was with that something was missing. I was afraid that it could be the future of what was yet to come, but I knew it couldn't be us because the wolf looked entirely different. No one from the pack looked shaggy and white as this wolf I had seen.
"They're prisoners." I mumbled. "They were captured."
"Who?" Jake asked in a demanding tone, "who are you talking about babe?"
"The intruders." I sat up quickly, rubbing my eyes, "they were sent, I know it. But I don't have clue who?"
"Was there anyway to recognize them?" He asked now panicking.
"Their voices." I mumbled to myself still deep in thought. "They had accents, Russian I believe."
"Russian?" Jake repeated.
"There was a wolf and I, and they…" I found it difficult speaking and explaining, "The wolf protected me like you do. One of the men said if he attacked…. He said… he said if we attacked he'd blind us again."
"What wolf?" Jake asked sounding frustrated.
"The white wolf." I breathed out as I stood up to pace to recall the memory. "The white wolf, he was, at least I think it was a he, he was protecting me from whoever it was. I don't know why, but it was as if they were hurting me somehow."
"But was it you?"
"No" I replied honestly. "I don't think it was. But everything about being this person felt so familiar now that I recall."
"Like what?" He asked.
"Like the itch in my throat." I recalled the memory. It felt as if I had a thirst for blood still, "it's almost as if I needed blood, but yet… it still repulsed me. Ugh." I said frustrated.
"Calm down love." Jake pulled me in his arms.
"It was like I was turning human again Jake." I felt the tear fall down my cheek, "but they weren't letting me. I could smell the blood, I wanted it, but I didn't."
"But you said it wasn't you."
"No it wasn't." I paused deep in thought. "But I get the feeling I know who it just might be."
"Who?"
"Nahuel."
"But he's dead." Jake replied unsure, "word had spread that he had been killed along with the wolf who imprinted on him."
"You never mentioned he was dead?" I replied confused. "Why didn't you tell me Jake?"
"I thought I had Seb," he replied with a shrug, "word had come to us that he disappeared without a trace, and the wolf's pack was in mourning since they felt the disconnection from their pack brother. Everyone assumed their death."
"Whoever has them, knows what they're doing." I mumbled. "I need to run this by aunt Alice for now. I need you to contact the council and have them inform the pack that I might just have hope for their pack brother being alive."
"But what about Brody?"
"I'll call my parents and Seth for now," I replied heading to the kitchen area, "I'll fix you both something to eat before aunt Alice gets here, maybe she'll be able to recognize the voices."
"No," he pulled me into his arms and gave me a kiss, "you tend to Brody and I'll make us some breakfast before everyone gets here. When they get here, I'll call a pack meeting, something tells me that we'll be getting visitors soon."
"Visitors?" I asked dumbfounded.
"Once the other pack hears about their brother possibly being alive, I wouldn't doubt that they'd come to their pack brother's aid." Jake replied honestly. "Besides a search party has more effect if we can cover more grounds than before."
I nodded and went to the nursery where Brody had just begun to stir awake. I couldn't help but smile at the child as he found comfort in my arms. We were both content with the embrace I had with him. His presence reminded me just why I had to do what I was supposed to. He was the link to the family that Jacob and I never thought we would have, and now, I just couldn't picture a future without him. I was sure that after all of this chaos was over, I was going to marry the man that loves the both of us.
The moments spent with him were so precious. With both of them.
By the time my parents arrived, Jake had left with the pack to assemble the others. I was on my way with aunt Alice to call on the Denali coven as well as the Egyptian coven to see if they had any suspicions come their way. Neither have seen or heard a thing but offered to come stand by our sides this time, even if it meant a fight.
This gave me time to ask aunt Alice about the triumphs they faced with the Volturi in regards to my existence. She told me that it began with the betrayal and misconception of Irina from the Denali coven. She suspected me to be an immortal child the moment she witnessed my appearance. Apparently I was with my mother and Jacob at the time, and we were hunting when she noticed the differences about me.
She informed the Volturi as soon as she could and they set out to attack our family just to get rid of me. I never knew the difference between an immortal child and me being a hybrid until my father explained to me that I grow as I feed and mature like I should, an immortal child stays in it's child-like state and can wreak havoc upon any living being just by smelling the scent of blood. That led to the story of the Denali coven's mother who changed a young boy out of to cope with her empty feelings. The child mere destroyed the nearest village on its own and was sentenced along with the mother to be disposed of.
When it came to me, it was often thought that my parents were having difficulties controlling my thirst as well as me associating with life like a normal child should. By then, according to the Volturi, I should have at least destroyed a couple towns on my own. Everything was blown out proportion. That's when the armies would be sent to destroy me as well as my family for creating me. During this time, my family called upon their fellow covens that were willing to stand as witnesses that I truly was harmless and more rare than anything they would come across.
What was meant to be a battle turned out to be something far more than what Aro the leader expected, my existence would not only bring wars between covens of each side, but the wolves would dispose of anyone who chose to harm me as well as their followers, so yes, I was told that Jake was ready to fight to the death to protect me and my family, which meant that the pack and most shifters would soon join to form an alliance that Aro would have no chance to defeat.
In the beginning, when the other covens came to assist my family, they were brought here as witnesses. That was until my father had questioned their positions and where they stood if it came a time that they would have to face the Volturi and their guards. Decisions were made that there would no longer be those who would live in fear and would fight for what felt right. The Volturi were known for doing the wrong thing more than once for their own pleasure, and there was one coven that knew that too well, one coven that despised them, the Romanian coven: Vladimir and Stefan –two men who associated with them before. Power meant everything to them. If any opportunity was given to them to defeat the Volturi, they were keen on taken it.
"The Romanians?" I questioned looking across the table at my aunt.
"Yes, their visit was very unpleasant." She admitted, "it wasn't the pack that only despised their presence, but most of us had." She let out a deep sigh as if she needed a breath, "but we were greater in numbers, and they owed Carlisle a favor at the time, and that was the last of it. When the Volturi dismissed themselves, the Romanians were fixated on setting up a sneak attack, but it hadn't fallen through for the fact that none of wanted to go through what I had just witnessed."
"The pandemonium." I muttered.
"You see Seb," she paused before moving forward, "what I had saw been far more dreadful than anything I had experienced. Sure we as our part would have claimed victory, but we would have lost so many important people on the way. Carlisle. Seth. Leah. And my Jasper, I couldn't bear the thought of ever losing him, even if that meant I had the opportunity to avenge him."
"Our family would have been separated too right?" I asked, cluing in the thought of Jacob and me fleeing.
"At that time, it was my only solution knowing that you would be safe." She grabbed my hand. "As long as you survived this, it didn't matter because I knew we'd be reunited soon after."
"What if this is the battle that had bee long awaited for?" I asked.
"We're prepared this time," she replied with confidence. "We've been training since for that fact that the Volturi could be at ease on betrayal at any moment. I already know how to distract most of the guard to take out their strongest points; Jane and Alec. They would be the first targets that I'm sure Paul and Jake would be willing to help us take down."
"But it isn't the Volturi this time?"
"No." She said, "They may have been able to find a way to discover how to get around my visions, but I have found my own ways to stay a few steps ahead."
"So it has to be someone else who may know you just a little better than the others?" I questioned.
"I'd like to believe so, but something tells me that its just dumb luck that I can't pick up on anything."
"Well, what about this." I reached out my hands again to her, "I was finally able to get some sleep when I reached deep into my conscious to see this."
"But how could you have seen this without me being near?"
I shrugged. "Jacob believes that my abilities are evolving more than enough for me to pick up everyone close to me without having to always be near them. I can only hope that he's correct when we have to face what is coming."
"Show me." She moved forward and placed her small palms into mine. Her pupils doubled in size as she stared blankly into my eyes. My thoughts remained on every little detail I could recall about my vision. The wolf, the coldness, the voices and the location. Something had to be familiar to her in some way. "Oh, my…"
"What is it?" I asked as she panicked going through what looked like a photo album.
"It can't be." She mumbled to herself flipping through the pages. "When the alliances were first formed after the Volturi's encounter, we all agreed to form as a coven to defend each other if the time had come, except one." She stopped and showed me a picture of the group of people sitting around the fire. "Everyone who was a part of this is in this picture except the Romanians."
"The Romanians?"
"When they left, the left with anger and defeat. They felt we betrayed them for not falling through with their plan to go after the Volturi with them." She then flipped to the picture of the man I had seen in the vision. "This is Vladimir, he's the one who had sworn we'd pay for our cowardness. I believe that this could be his vengeance."
"But why are they trapping wolves and humans?" I asked dumbfounded.
"Not humans Seb," she quickly picked out her phoned from her jacket and dialed whom I assumed to my grandfather, telling him to gather the others to bring them here. "You remember everything you felt in the vision right?" I nodded, "well do you recall the tasted for blood, and how repulsive it made you, and yet you craved it."
I nodded. "I sometimes do that now."
"Exactly." She said on point, "there is only one reason for this, the human was once what you were, a hybrid."
I gasped in shock. "Then that means…"
"Nahuel." She finished, "it makes sense now. It only happened with you and Jacob. I could see blurred visions of the two of you, and it was the same result with the Nahuel since he was imprinted on by the wolf that is protecting him."
"So the wolf had turned him human too?"
"It's possible." She continued as everyone began to arrive. "I'm beginning to believe that imprint are not only meant to bond a wolf to their mates, but cure those who can be. You and Nahuel still have a heartbeat when you are brought into this world, when bonded with a wolf; you become almost indestructible as a pair. Not only would a hybrids coven protect them, but their pack would too."
"What have you come up with?" Grandpa Carlisle asked. Aunt Alice updated everyone as it took me a moment to realize what was happening.
"But that doesn't explain why the Romanians are holding the pair hostage." Aunt Rose added.
"It makes perfect sense." Jake added as he sat next to me. "They can remain unseen as they find others like them. Word had already been spread about Sebastian's existence, hell, they already met Sebastian before, what makes more sense for them to find him and the wolf who imprinted on him."
"They're building an army." Sam intervened. "If they can take control of Sebastian, they control a coven and a pack of wolves. I'm sure that they discovered that the wolf who imprinted on the other hybrid would do anything they say as long as the hybrid was safe, and if the hybrid is now human, he's more vulnerable than the wolf can hope for."
"They want us to go into battle against the Volturi." I stated. "Not only will they claim vengeance on the Volturi, but now they will use it against all of us for not helping them in the first place."
"But why go through so much to search for you when you're in plain sight." Tyler asked.
"They could've captured you several times before," Paul added, "not saying I'd wish it upon you Seb, but there were times we left you home unguarded."
"Because it's not me they want first." I admitted.
"No!" Jake said angered. "They won't touch him."
"Touch who?" We came to a surprise as my parents and Seth came through the door. "What did we miss?" Seth asked as he held his imprint in his arms.
"Seth," I muttered as I stood up, now holding Brody as he sat next to me, "we believe we know who's behind this and their purpose."
"And that is?" he asked a bit concerned.
"The Romanian coven." I replied unsure, "we thought it may be me that they could be after first, but since they wouldn't be able to just take me, the easier route for them would be to take Brody."
"What?"
"Which is why Brody never leaves yours or my parents sight until we get rid of them." I informed him. "If they find a way to get to us, then we're in far worse position to face the Volturi under their commands."
"Well I hope you kill the bastards." Seth replied with anger, something we rarely witnessed with the pup, "Because if you don't, I just might have the pleasure of doing it myself."
"They won't get anywhere near him." Uncle Emmett stepped in, "I guarantee they will be disposed of. If there was one vamp I always wanted to tear to shreds, it would be that cocky son-of-a-bitch Vladimir."
"I'm sure that it would be a simple task as it is anyways." Uncle Jasper added. "There are only two in the coven, and if the wolf and hybrid pose a threat, we'll get rid of them too."
"The problem is," I interrupted, "we have no idea where the location is."
"Does anyone recognize this place? "Aunt Alice began to scribble a drawing on her paper.
"The old abandoned forestry hut." My father replied before the sketch was finished, "The place was closed down once the logging companies wen through there."
"How far is it from here then?" I asked.
"About ten miles past Forks." He then looked at me, "you can't be serious about going Sebastian, it's far too dangerous for you."
"He's right love." Jake added.
"I'm not entirely helpless you know." I replied with annoyance, "if I can pick up on your thoughts and easily put a shield up around me, then I'm fine."
"What?" My father asked stunned.
"I haven't stopped practicing too." I admitted, "right now the easiest abilities for me to absorb are yours and mothers, it's practically in my blood. How do you think I was able to block my thoughts from you lately." I turned to Jake. "I'm going."
A/N: There had been a lot of procrastination on my behalf on whether I wanted Seth to imprint on Brody for many reasons. For one, it's supposed to be rare and it seems a bit simple just to pair them, I admit, but somehow it works. My other idea would be for Seth to be near Brody the same way Jacob was their for Bella, meaning that Brody's descendent would be Seth's future imprint, but I didn't think it was fair letting Seth wait for so long, and besides, that would be another story I just can't deliver. Even finding an imprint for Leah seems to be a difficult task as it is.
I know most think they know the outcome of all this, but there is still a few tricks up my sleeve that I'm about to go with, so please bare with me when I say that the next chapter may take a little longer seeing how it might have some sort of battle scene it. So please review and I will try my hardest to deliver the update ASAP. Though I do have an excuse for this past weekend, celebrating a birthday can tend to make you forget about everything else. I regret nothing. LOL.
Much Love,
