I've been a bad writer, letting you wait so long. I've been suffering writer's block for this story, trying to get something on paper for quite a while, continuing TKoL. Well, you got lucky, 'cause here's the next chapter. I'll warn you, it's not my best work, but I felt like I had to give you guys an update. I hope you like it, though, even if it's horrible. Please be patient with me for a next update.
I do not own anything, except this plot and Teagan, Herald, Rean, Vic and Karell. Enjoy!

A beautiful woman, resembling to King Kunu, was lying in the hospital room. A boy around the age of two was sitting on her bed, for it was her first child. A doctor came in, one who carried her newborn child. Her newborn boy. The doctor smiled at her.
"He's in good shape, miss Parker," he answered, knowing she would rather be called by the name of her brother, not her husband's – she'd rather not hear her husband's name, "I see a great future lying ahead of him." The princess smiled back at the doctor, and got her child back. He showed her older son his younger brother.
"Rean," she began, "this is your brother, Lanny."
.
Lanny, now two years old, was looking at his new pet, which he called Yamakoshi. He wasn't really paying attention to what happened around them. So he didn't know two men – Mason Makoola and Timothy Kalooka-Khan – were talking to each other about him and, mainly, his family. About his mother passing away from a nasty illness, his brother being kidnapped by some Nanju-warriors, his cousins being sent to the mainland. He didn't care.
A kid, around three years old, walked up to Lanny. He had black hair as well, straight on his head, and the same eyes as his grandfather. Yamakoshi looked from Lanny to the new kid. The boy studied Lanny as well.
"I'm Teagan," the boy said.
"I don't like you," Lanny replied. Teagan just shrugged, as if he was fine with that. As if he knew Lanny wouldn't care.
.
"Hey, little troll," Teagan said, kicking him once more. Lanny was curled up on the ground, helpless – Mason and the guards were doing Dark Side jobs and Mikayla was nowhere to be seen. He felt lonelier than ever.
"You're not going to tell anyone, eh?" Lanny made some sounds, but no word was heard. This made Teagan mad.
"Answer me if I ask you a question!" he shouted, and kicked Lanny in the stomach again. The prince moaned before letting out a soft 'no'. After Teagan kicked him once more, he said it louder.
"And do you know why, little troll? Because if you don't, I'll come and kick you that hard you won't remember who you are." Teagan said with an evil grin, and Lanny sank in the darkness.
When he finally woke up, he felt a bit confused. He was placed in the intensive care, because of the seriousness of the blows he got from the Tarantula (no, from Teagan). He looked around and found one of the guards was sitting there. He vaguely remembered it was Mahuma. Now he noticed the guard, he saw the man was sleeping. Lanny sighed. He'd actually hoped he would wake up all alone.
Well, not completely alone.
"Finally you're awake." Lanny turned to the source of the deep voice, but saw a big, ugly fish. No, it was his big, ugly fish. It was Yamakoshi. "I thought you were going to die." As usual, almost no emotion in his voice. It seemed like the fish-like beast was bored, or even annoyed because Lanny was still alive. Too bad the fish was the only close friend Lanny had.
"Thanks for the concern," Lanny responded dryly, "now, what happened?" The guard must've guessed he wasn't really sane by this accident, thus the Prince had started talking to himself. Or to the fish, one of those two. Anyway, the guard stood up and left the room before Lanny repeated the question and Yama answered.
"Well, first you tell me what you remember." Lanny looked at the fish, surprised.
"What I remember? I remember a lot."
"Specify." Yamakoshi demanded, and Lanny sighed, and started thinking. What did he remember. The more he thought, the more he realized he actually didn't remember as much as he wished he would. He thought for five minutes, looking like an hour to Lanny, before Yama took him out of his thoughts. "You almost done thinking?"
"Geez, at least I know I must be going insane talking to a fish." Lanny snapped at Yamakoshi, "Let's see… you're my pet. Both my parents are dead. Or, my mother died and my father's gone missing. I have my mother's last name, and I have cousins," With this, he started summing up more from what he remembered, "There's a main group bullying me. I think the leader was called Teagan, though I might be wrong." He stopped there, letting his thoughts continue where he left off with talking. That they hated him, and that he always wished how Teagan and friends would finally leave him alone. He's a prince, darn it, doesn't that mean he could lock them in a dungeon and let the people forget he once was a target for the school's bullies. One of his former friends, Herald, joined the bullies as the brain of the group. And…
"I'm not convinced," Yamakoshi told the prince. Lanny glared at him.
"How so, you're not convinced?"
"I want to hear what you want most of all."
"Really? Something cliché like that?"
"If you don't remember, I'm afraid you've got some sort of amnesia." Lanny sighed by this comment.
"Fine! I can't wait to be king, now happy. And if I'm finally King, Teagan can't hurt me anymore." If Yamakoshi could smile, he did. If he couldn't, than the fish would smile in his thoughts. Yep, he was doing fine, with the exception of a few bruises.
Eventually, Mikayla walked in. She sighed annoyed, as if she was sent here by her father. Really, she'd rather train with the guards than seeing how the prince was doing. Mason wasn't going to let her do some serious jobs after the accident which left Lanny defenseless against the Tarantula/Teagan. She failed in her job, so it would take months for Mason to finally trust Mikayla with some task again.
"You okay?" she said, not trying to cover her boredness.
"I've felt better." He responded.
"Great!" she retorted with fake-happiness, before turning back to the door. Then, she turned back to him, as if she forgot something, "Oh, the Kalooka-Khan family is on a vacation to the mainland for some weeks, and Teagan absolutely wanted to be there when you woke up," a shiver was sent through his spine, "but he decided to go anyway, and asked me to give you this." She took a letter out of her pocket, and gave it to Lanny. Then, she left, and didn't return. Curious, Lanny opened the it and read what Teagan wanted to tell him.
His eyes widened as he continued to read, only to throw the letter through the room when he was halfway through. He didn't want to read it anymore, he didn't want to have it. Because Teagan had written down insults to Lanny, enough to haunt him the few weeks, until Teagan got back from the mainland.
I know, it was horrible, but it was an update.
So whaddya think? Hate, like? Please review!
