I know next chapter is the last one, but it's kind of just a small epilogue thing that I'll probably post tomorrow.

Thank you for everyone that followed the story so far, it truly amazes me how many of you there are. To all my followers and to everyone that reviews these, you are amazing and I love you all.

Please review this because it is kind of the last chapter :)

Also, I'm sorry in advance, but I don't think this will end the way you wanted it to. It's good, I swear, I'm full of shit.

Eleanor was really going to Australia.

The school year there would start in two weeks and their friends were throwing a goodbye party that Saturday, right before she and Dake went to the airport.

They invited Castiel, but he wasn't sure if he was going.

Sure, he missed Eleanor. Fuck, he missed her more than he missed his parents, and that's something. But, still, he had no idea what he would do when he saw her. If he saw her.

Saturday arrived and Castiel found himself in a mood that could be only described as mourning. Exactly what he was mourning he didn't know. He also didn't know about going to the party or how to apologise to people, because James Castiel Parker didn't apologise. Just this once.

So, once again, he called Lysander for advice.

"You rely on me too much"

"Yes, I know. Now, about my problem"

"Is not really much of a problem as much as it is stubbornness—"

"My problem, Lys"

"Let me think, you loggerhead!"

"Don't go all Victorian on me"

"Elizabethan!"

"Have you thought of something yet? If don't help me, I'm not going"

"Don't. Even. Think. About it. Eleanor likes My Chemical Romance, right?"

"More than her family, yes"

"Sing her a good song as an apology"

"Which one, for instance?"

"I don't know, you know her better than I do. Besides, I prefer Fall Out Boy"

"Okay, I'll think of something. Thanks, though"

"Don't fuck this up"

"I'm not really sure that I can't"

Castiel sat in his living room looking up at the ceiling fan. He then looked over at his computer and had the craziest idea ever. Skype.

"Hi, love! How are you? Haven't talked to you in a while"

"Hey mum. I'm okay. How's Brazil?"

"Hot. It's 35 bloody degrees here! But, besides that, everything's nice. We'll leave tomorrow for Argentina, then Uruguay, Ecuador, Mexico, and then we'll be back home for a week or two. It'll be nice, I'm feeling horrible that we missed Christmas. Did you get our gift, the Winged Skeleton vinyl? "

"Winged Skull. I did, thanks"

"That girl's hair is really pretty. I like blue. She kinda looks like your friend, Eleanor"

"Well, now that you mentioned, I called because of her"

"Is everything okay?"

"She found her soulmate"

"I'm sorry, love. She must be happy though… did anything change?"

"Personality trait, she thinks. She's happy"

"How about you?"

"Here and there. She's going to Australia with her boyfriend for a year"

"Oh, Castiel…"

"The thing is… we had a fight"

"Castiel! That's not how you solve things"

"Yes, Learned that one the hard way. So now I want to apologise"

"What's stopping you?"

"She'll never accept it"

"So, you're scared"

"Kind of"

"Dear, I can't tell you what to do"

"Of course you can, you do it all the time"

"Not this time. If you think she won't forgive you, it means you are scared to try. And maybe it's for the best. If you love her, you let her go. Some other time, you tell her. You do what your heart tells you to do"

"That was the cliché-est thing I've ever heard you say"

"It's what the mother's book tells me to say to you"

"I should have talked to dad"

"He would say 'do what you want'"

"That's basically what you told me"

"I'm offering you a choice, love. Choose wisely, because I can't help you choose and this can affect your life in ways you can't even imagine"

The party would start in a couple hours and Castiel was alone in his room listening to Conventional Weapons. He thought about what his mother had told him. He wasn't even sure if she was right.

Castiel was already on Number Three when he made a decision. Yes, he loved her. Yes, he needed to apologise. But not today. She was going to Australia and they wouldn't see each other for a long while. When she came back he would be over her and he would apologise. He loved her, so he'd let her go.

He got up and grabbed himself some water. It would be difficult. It would take a long while, and he would definitely regret it, but he was going to get over her. He wasn't going to the party. She was angry at him and didn't want him there, so she deserved a last happy moment with her friends, and he couldn't spoil that.

Demon licked his hand, as if he knew his owner was sad. Castiel petted him and took a deep breath. The boy took his phone and looked at a picture Eleanor took of them in one of her "guitar lessons".

He looked horrible. He had dark circles under his eyes, his black hair was all messy, he wasn't even looking at the camera, he was playing guitar. Eleanor looked beautiful. She was smiling that smile that almost made her eyes disappear. Her hair was up in a ponytail and she just looked utterly cute.

"I'm sorry" He told his phone, hoping she would somehow hear him and say she forgave him.

She wouldn't forgive him.

The World Is Ugly faded out and Castiel looked at the door. He wasn't going. They would see each other in a year or so and they'd be all changed and Castiel would maybe just say he was sorry and never see her again. She'd live in Australia with Dake and their two kids and their Labrador in a suburban house, living their lives as Castiel lived his doing whatever it was he'd be doing.

Castiel smiled to himself. He would probably never be her friend again. But that's okay. Because that's life. You win some and you lose some, and he lost Eleanor even though everyone thought he wouldn't. Because sometimes you forget to turn on the light and bad things happen when you're in the dark.

But everything was okay to Castiel. Because he loved her and she was happy and he'd let her go.
