I've decided to update again tonight as a review from Jisbon1996 made me laugh! How could I possibly leave you hanging after such an impassioned plea? Ha ha! Hope you enjoy, please review to let me know your thoughts and opinions :-)
'Mr Spence' Paula forced a warm smile as she turned around to face him 'what a lovely surprise'
'I wish I could say the same thing' Michael crossed his arms across his chest, refusing to be dawn in once again by this woman's falsity. 'What are you doing here Paula?'
'Jasmine, my daughter she contacted me, she wants to see me.'
'Yes I know. As I recall it she contacted you a few months ago. So why turn up now?'
'She said she was dying. I thought I'd better see her soon'
'So soon you left it a full two months to respond to her request?' Michael frowned at the woman. 'I'm sorry but I don't think it's a good idea for you to turn up announced.'
'You can't stop me from seeing my own daughter' Paula laughed dangerously.
'You're right I can't.' Michael spoke reasonably 'but I can stop you from entering this hospital. I'll tell Jasmine you wish to see her and let her make her own decision.'
Paula glared at the man in front of her for a long time before she bitterly answered 'tell her I'm staying in the local travel lodge and its best to email me' she turned to walk away before she stopped and added 'tell her I still care about her even if she so readily discarded me.'
'Unbelievable' Michael muttered under his breath as he watched the woman walk away. He pulled out his mobile phone and dialled Serena Campbell's number. 'Serena, we need to call an emergency Team Naylor meeting stat. I can confirm the mother has returned.'
Serena, Elliot, Michael, Ric and Malick managed to convene in a meeting in less than ten minutes after Michael's phone call.
'What do we do?' Elliot sighed 'technically Paula has every right to come here a speak to Jasmine'
'Yeah I know that but she seem very willing to accept my version that she couldn't' Michael slumped back into his chair 'didn't even argue with me. What kind of a mother doesn't fight for access to her sick dying child?'
'Did she mention Jac at all?' Serena asked. Michael shook his head. 'Maybe that's a good thing, maybe that means she has no interest in finding Jac.' Serena continued
'I think that's unlikely' Ric sighed 'Jac has Ava. I'm sure even Paula would be curious enough to want to meet her own granddaughter.'
'Well that so won't be happening' Michael huffed 'there is no way that pure sweet little girl is having anything to do with that evil vile woman.'
'Maybe she's changed?' Malick spoke up.
'Not likely' Ric shook his head 'Jac thought she'd changed when she donated her kidney only to be left heartbroken and disappointed once more when she realised her mother was just as manipulative and deplorable as she'd always been'.
'Should we inform Sacha and Mo of this recent development?' Elliot asked.
Michael shook his head 'there's no way either of them would make it through a whole Christmas day without telling Jac. We'll keep them out the loop until boxing day at the earliest.'
'Agreed' Ric nodded.
'Shouldn't we just tell Jac? So she's prepared?' Malick asked confused 'what if she bumps into Paula somehow? Surely it's better for her to know the woman is in the area?'
'No!' Michael said firmly. 'The best thing is if we get Paula on her way as quickly as possible without Jac finding out about it. I am final on that.'
'Obviously you know Jac better than I do but I disagree' Malick shrugged 'I think you're going the wrong way about this.'
'Well you're entitled but we stick to this plan' Michael crossed his arms across his chest defiantly.
'I'm in agreement with Michael, get rid of Paula as soon as possible and Jac need never know' Serena nodded. 'Elliot? What about you?'
'If Jac accidently meets Paula this has the potential to go badly wrong' Elliot sighed 'but I agree with you, the best outcome would be if Jac never knows her mother has returned'.
'Right then we have a plan' Ric spoke 'Michael and I will talk with Jasmine and try to get this visit from her mother done as quickly and quietly as possible.'
Jasmine was silent as she listened to Michael's story of the brief meeting he'd had with her mother.
'How'd she seem to you?' Jasmine asked calmly.
'The same as she did the last time I saw her, skinny, redheaded, looking more well and at peace than Jac' Michael spoke angrily.
'Calm down Michael' Jasmine rolled her eyes making her look even more like Jac 'I more meant does she seem remorseful or, I don't know,' Jasmine searched for the right words 'willing in her need to see me?'
'She said to tell you she still cares about you even if you so readily discarded of her' Michael answered her bitterly 'make of that what you will.'
'Michael' Ric spoke in a warning undertone knowing Spence's anger had caused him to lose his sense of Jasmines feelings.
'Sorry' Michael mumbled an apology.
'They're her words not yours' Jasmine shrugged sadly. 'But she definitely said for me to contact her?'
Michael nodded.
'So I email her, set up a meeting after Christmas, tell her I think she is evil personified and to never darken my sisters doorstep again, she leaves, Jac never finds out and I can die with a clear mind and conscience.'
'When you put it like that it all seems so simple' Michael spoke sarcastically.
'Jasmine, are you sure you really need to do this?' Ric asked the young woman kindly 'what would it achieve?'
'I don't know' Jasmine shrugged 'but I need to tell her actions had consequences, I need to try to get her understand that Jac was her child, not an unwanted thing.'
'If you are expecting to see remorse, I can't help but feel you'll be disappointed' Ric smiled kindly. 'Think about it, are you sure airing your grievances is worth it? Michael and I could go to her hotel tonight, persuade her to leave.'
Jasmine shook her head, frustrated the two men were unable to understand her need to do this one thing for her sister. 'Jac told me a few months ago that it still hurts she wasn't good enough for our mother. It's about time our mother realised it was her who wasn't good enough for us.'
