He couldn't believe it.
His vacant stare trailed across her body, laying lifeless in his arms. His mind had gone blank the second she ran in front of him to take the shot meant to end his life, not hers. He had been prepared to die, not for her to die for him…
He shook his head slowly. She was always throwing herself at him, only for him to reject her, to drive her away. Her persistent behavior was always deemed "annoying," and yet he couldn't bring himself to hate her.
Instead he watched her, as she died for him.
Meh, just a little something I started as it was floating in my head for a while. I like the idea of 100 word fics, as they present a nice challenge in getting a point across in as few words as possible. It also challenges an author to use more vibrant language to mean similar things to what was originally intended.
I have also realized I have been painfully away for FAR too long. This month, I will do a writing challenge: A 100 word fic every week. The theme must be different each time, and at the end of the month, I will start a new story that hopefully will stay active. I have been meaning to write again, and this will hopefully pursue me to do so. I will take off my other stories that I never finished. A "cleaning of the slate" if you will. My writing style has changed, and I believe you all deserve better than what I used to write while in high school.
Until next week's update, I wish you all well!
