Chapter 21: Alone
The new light of the day shined through the dark crimson curtains of the large bedroom. Its heavenly white luminescence only made the dark room to become brighter then what it would've been without the light. The glow ended at the foot of bed, where there lay the future queen of the land. Under the ruby blankets, Elizabeth snuggled more into the warm sheets snoozing softly. Every so often she would twitch, moaning before settling and laying still. Sitting next to the sleeping form was the well known azure king who was fully dressed in his regular attire and thankfully out of that itchy suit. The red cape he normally wore along with the brown sash that sat across his hips and his golden crown was something he was happy to be in.
Arthur chuckled lightly as Elizabeth clutched what she thought was the blankets but was his arm. He really didn't even know how he had gotten in such a situation. Once after he had gotten dressed the blue hedgehog had gone around going through his usual examinations. He simply did not have the heart to wake Elizabeth up from her peaceful position so settled with waking her up after he was done with his morning duties. For some reason, even with that plan, he still could not stir her up. Arthur was too absorbed in watching her chest lightly move up and down as her lips slightly opened with eyelids softly closed. With her cheek smushed against the pillow, she definitely did not look like an angel but more of a princess who had a rather long night.
His gloved covered hand went to stroke her cheek he tangled quills but was trapped when, out of nowhere, Elizabeth grabbed his hand and cuddled against it spreading a pleasant smile across her tan muzzle. Emerald orbs widened in surprise but slowly closed to a gentle stare. Arthur could no longer contain the feelings within him. He went over to her, leaning down. He was on his knees still allowing her to hold his arm. His free hand lied on her shoulder tenderly shaking her body causing her to groan.
"Elizabeth, wake up" he whispered in her ear before kissing her temple.
Out of complete utter confusion and distortion, Elizabeth scrunched her nose and whined, "No," she suddenly wrapped her arms around his neck bringing his head to her chest, "Sleep with me," she moaned.
Now Arthur knew she was tired and completely out of it. And he knew that the words she had unconsciously spoken weren't supposed to sound the way they did. And he swore he that when she had brought his muzzle to her chest, she never intended to do so. He knew all of this, very well in fact.
But boy, did he let his mind wander.
King Arthur couldn't help but grow excited even in the half tired mind he carried. The overwhelming scents that were forcefully shoved in his nostrils beleaguered his mind to a daze. His forest green eyes were half lidded and filled with unmistakable want. When Elizabeth arched her back, pushing her bosom further into his muzzle, only to stretch, Arthur almost lost all of his self control. "Elizabeth," he lowly spoke before putting his hand on her back and kissing the top of her chest. Little by little his pecks traveled upwards. He nipped at her collarbone before fully kissing her neck. His smooth tongue licked the fur, dampening it. Arthur sucked on her neck groaning into it. At the back of his mind, a tiny voice screamed at him to stop before he could no longer had the self control to halt his actions. They weren't married yet, and even sharing the same room was beyond unreasonable. Doing this, well, that was just plain sinful.
Elizabeth began to open her eyes, eyelashes fluttering open. Before they even opened halfway, they immediately shut as a pleasant feeling filled the corners of her mind. All around her body she could feel gentle caresses causing her to smile sluggishly. Her hands mindlessly laid on something furry and started to rub it. Something wet and warm was pressed and dipped on her jaw line and soon her chin. It trailed down back to her neck making her bite her lip and rolling her head back. "Oh…" she breathed, plagued with this feeling she never felt before. Whatever was happening felt so nice and soft. A feeling of safety, pleasure and want sent chills down her spine and to other parts of her body unknown. Wanting to know what made her feel so good, Elizabeth opened her eyes revealing pleased purple jewels. She blinked when a rather large quill swayed in front of her. It was familiarly bright blue.
…
Her eyes almost popped out of their sockets and before Elizabeth fully knew what was going on, she screamed bloody murder. Arthur popped his head back up, eyes wide. He was soon met with a pillow in his face causing him to fall back on his butt. He blinked multiple times seeming to come out of his trance and his pupils dilated.
What did I just do?
Elizabeth's frenzied eyes stared frighteningly at the king who pleaded with her to calm down. The ebony teen shook her head, backing away feverously. Her head hit the bed post as her legs kicked towards Arthur who tried to make amends.
"What were you doing!?" she shouted terrified. When the blue king reached for her in an almost begging way, she hurriedly crawled away to another place on the bed yelling, "Don't touch me!"
"Elizabeth, please let me explain!" Arthur hopelessly said over her shouts.
Now backed into the bed post, she felt like a mouse cornered into the wall. Her heart rapidly pounded inside her ribcage. Her wide eyes surpassed the size of dinner plates and her eccentric breathing patterns gave off the sounds of hyperventilating. Well, anyone would freak over the fact that they were almost taken with their consent.
"There's nothing to s-"
Elizabeth put a hand to her chest and only then realized something odd. If she had fallen asleep in a dress, wasn't she supposed to still be in that same dress? Taking the risk, she stopped all movements causing Arthur to freeze. She looked down and found herself to be in a male white blouse that was unbuttoned far too low and short for her comfort. And the funny thing was, it looked a lot like the one Arthur wore last night.
If it was possible her eyes widened and tears brimmed her bottoms lids. She stared incredulously at the cerulean male who stared back at her with wide eyes. He knew he had royally screwed up. Elizabeth began to hyperventilate for real and clutched the shirt almost ripping it off, but didn't. That would just make the situation worse.
She glared accusingly and hurtfully at Arthur who shook his head holding up his hands. "Elizabeth," he spoke lowly, "before you say anything, hear me out-"
"Why am I in this!?" she screamed, "Where is my dress!? What happened!? Oh my dear God Arthur!"
Deciding she could not handle this any longer she made a b-line for the door, hoping to escape this horrid room. She was so close before a pair of hands grabbed her upper arms pulling her back. The adrenaline rush she suddenly got kept her for screaming but she definitely held up a fight. She tried to kick and elbow her way out of his hands but to no avail, it was a hopeless struggle. "Let me go Arthur, now!" she bellowed, voice gritty.
The king gritted his teeth becoming frustrated with her struggles. He twisted her around to where the frantic girl was facing him. Elizabeth bounded her fist against his chest while Arthur struggled to keep her from breaking one of his ribs.
"If you would just calm down-"
"Sonic let me go! LET ME GO, NOW SONIC!"
"ELIZABETH!"
Harshly, Elizabeth found herself pushed against the bed, stunned, with Arthur on top of her. She blinked before beginning to struggle but immediately froze when Arthur glared at her wide eyed but with a disbelieving stare. "Do you really think I would do that!?" he said shaking her shoulders, "Do you really think I would do that to you, of all people!? Huh, Elizabeth?"
His disheveled quills and hysterical gaze compelled her to feel up to her breaking point. Tears rolled down the side of her head as her bottom lip trembled. Elizabeth covered her mouth and narrowed her eyes, the tears making them sting. She didn't know what to feel, think or believe. With everything that happened yesterday in addition to a few minutes ago, she didn't feel stable enough to exactly process what was going on. The ebony teen tried to muffle her cries by covering her entire face with her hands.
The two stayed there, one panting with previous anger and one sobbing. Arthur's heavy breathing subsided. His eyes softened to a more natural state before he ran a hand through his quills. A soft curse ran through his lips as he watched her cry. He hated it. He never wanted to be the reason for her unhappy tears, never. Taking her hands away from her face to reveal hot cheeks, a wet face and red eyes, Arthur sighed. He leaned down wiping away some of the tears along with kissing them away. His hand brought her upright and pushed her against his body. He whispered apologies to her, forcing himself to stray away from her neck, something so alluring.
Elizabeth for some reason held on to his cape and cried into his shoulder. Look at where she was, crying into the king's shoulder because of a misunderstanding. She knew if this were Tyrone she wouldn't have minded much, and that's what made this hurt so much. Here she was causing this awfully sweet guy to hurt because she was sworn to lie to him for the rest of their young lives. It was a punishment no one should have to go through.
"I'm so sorry, for everything," she wailed.

The day went on and the two had put quite a distance between them, well, one did and the other tried to respect her wishes.
Elizabeth sat in another room, one she did not recognize, with her hands promptly squeezed in between her thighs. The king's shirt, that was three sizes to big, was still limply hung on her body. For the past hour the servants had pleaded for her to change into something else, a more appropriate choice of clothing but the girl had simply refused to move from her spot. After she had ceased her crying she demanded to be moved to another room, the previous events hauling over her like the night sky. When Sonic obeyed her commands, relentlessly asking her if she was okay and blurting apologies which she ignored, she hadn't moved since then.
The overwhelming fright, which still lay in her chest, twisted and only added to the hurt that was already digging its claws into her heart. She didn't know if she could do this-surviving here, acting as a false wife. It was as if acting like a clown, all happy and enthusiastic, only to be hiding behind the tons of makeup and that drawn on smile. Only to be hurting behind the mask while painfully laughing and throwing sweets to all the innocent children, making them happy, oblivious to the clown's agony. It was as if the clown's only purpose in this endless world was to make the children happy and continue to do so until the bitter end. It was just how it was.
Elizabeth was the clown and Sonic was the children she entertained.
It was utterly hopeless. The ebony girl wasn't going to budge and it was soon enough until the servants had to attend to their daily duties. It didn't matter anyway. Elizabeth wasn't going to change no matter what. No way in God's name was she going to slip into something from here. If she did, it would be like she was a part of this kingdom, and she absolutely was in no way close like that. Just feeling the expensive, silk, fabric against her fur would cause her to feel as if she were burning, chemicals drenching her body. Not only that, but Elizabeth would feel uncomfortably dirty, but here she was, in her future groom's shirt.
Her skin felt itchy in the comfortable cloth. It was like drinking lemonade. The sour taste would only appeal to some people but still, all those people who despised it could not ignore the sweet tangy taste between the sour tastes. The drink was so good in the beginning yet held an uncomfortable mouth-puckering sour taste that left a bad taste in the end. She hated it yet, felt good drinking the yellow liquid at the same time. Kind of like how she felt in this shirt.
If it was for the fact that she was terrified of the things that could happen if she told Sonic everything, she would've been gone. Elizabeth had to confess, she was slightly afraid of the blue king. He had not once shown a sign of aggression towards her, and if he did, it was for her own well-being. For as long as she could remember, he tried making her laugh, smile, feel loved, and he had succeeded in doing so. No, she wasn't afraid of him myself, more of how his feelings impacted her.
Elizabeth had already admitted she did not feel anything towards Sonic, but her subconscious could not help but question that thought. Even at seventeen, she could not ignore the pleasure he had sent down her spine this morning. Even after all these hours, she could remember the way his soft lips graciously kiss and suck on her chest, neck, and cheek. All the gentle caresses his large hands had made on her body still made themselves known on her body, as if there was a phantom there. Having his body press so firmly against hers left her feeling safe, warm, and deploringly excited in more ways than one. When she opened her eyes, realizing he was to the one making her feel this way, before she freaked out, when his body left hers and all those loving kisses stop, she terrifyingly felt cold and empty. Just thinking about this made the place between her legs feel something really weird. Horrified of the tingly feeling at sacred spots, Elizabeth smashed her things together even more, whimpering.
W-what's going on with me? Why is it doing that? I can't- am I-
Hopelessly confused, her immediate thought was to go to her father and have him help her through this feeling. It was after she had gotten up that she sat back down and remembered everything. Elizabeth casted her eyes to the floor, tears welding up in her eyelids. Without knowing, she played with a lock of her midnight hair, sighing. "Oh," she dejectedly breathed.
She almost forgot. She was alone.
