Kinunatzs: Yeah. Sorry about that. The problem is, I'm not that much of fans of Touka. But that doesn't mean that I hate her, or I want to make her cruel in this story or bashing her. No. It's just that if I finish this story without any appearance of Touka, there'll be a gap in this story for a chance to make a sequel. But that's not what I want. My reference is just Koihime Musou and that's it. There will be no Shin-Koihime Musou or Shin-Koihime Musou Otome Tairan. Just Koihime Musou. Both the anime and game version. Therefore, I will not put Touka or anybody else from that two series in this story. Some who didn't show in the anime version but show in game version will make appearance. But that's it. And that's my final decision.
The other reason to why I killed Touka will be explained in the future. But to do so, I need to kill her. So, I really sorry to kill your favourite character. I'm really sorry.
ImagineBreaker7: Yes. I will add some character from Type Moon. But worry not; there will be a lot of limiters of what their 'interference' in this story. Waver Velvet is just a cameo. I mean, I can't think anyone else more suited than him to relay Zelretch's message. Yes, I can use Tohsaka Rin or that blonde girl who I forgot what her name is is. But there's something that doesn't fit if I use them. Besides, there will be too much girl characters in this story. You need more man.
And Zelretch. Well, he's Zelretch. He's something you know. The biggest troller and prankster in any universe. A good guy that easily bored too. Also a man who has a way of thinking that to amuse himself, a big explosion and some chaos will be needed. Anyway, his part in this story is not much either. He's also another cameo. By now, you will know who is this 'new friend' that Naruto spoke of in his meeting with Kohakuren.
Tama Saga: Yes. It's him. The biggest nightmare and the most disturbing character that I've ever faced is here. I mean, he does have a big role in Koihime Musou.
Blazedragon94: Crossover IN this? Yes. There is a couple more. But I've tried to limited myself. After all, this is NarutoxKoihime Musou, not Koihime MusouxNaruto-and-other-anime-that-crossed-in-my-mind

Chapter 9: Crossroad of Life
The city's main street has been packed with crowd. The news that Sousou has visited the city to hunt down some bandits in the surrounding area is already spread. Peoples want to see the famous Sousou in her glory. Especially when the said person are paraded her latest 'victims' in public. But for those that didn't want to see her... Well, it's THE main street. It's always packed with peoples.
On top of a building, there's a silhouette of a figure watching carefully a certain blonde girl. His eyes are sharp. Like a predator. A predator that have found its prey and carefully calculating the necessary move to catch his prey.
He wears a plain grey pants and a plain grey shirt. He wears a boots with red trimmings. He also wears a black fest with similar trimming. On each side of the vest, there's a small smoke ball. On each of his arm, there's a black armguard with white lining. His hair is neck-short and brown. Above all, there's a bamboo-hat with a veil on its back. On his neck, there's a half mask that he didn't wear. His face was quite normal, some wrinkles on his cheeks and there's a big scar across his lips.
This man is the same one with the beggar that watched Naruto earlier this day. This morning, he receives a message that his target has been moved from Naruto, not that he knew his true name is, to Sousou. To a normal people, this would be a bad news for an assassin. Changing the target from a normal man that looks docile to a girl with a big army under her command does look bad. But let's not forget that the docile-looking-man is Naruto. A man that capable of blowing a person without touching him. A man that wiped out a dozen high-thugs from Black Cicada. Furthermore, he was so mysterious that compared to him, his boss will look like a celebrity. Therefore, he is gladly accepting the sudden change of plans.
Right now, he's observing the marching army with cautions. He is a professional assassin. Not a mere smug thugs that boasting some cheap stories. No matters his target was, he needs to be careful.
Reaching from behind him, he takes out a small modified crossbow. Carefully he put a poisonous arrow on it and begins to take aim.

A cart full with bandits that have been captured is being carried by a pair of horse. Alongside the cart, there are six soldiers guarding it. Three of each side. There's also four soldiers in front of it, two pairs in line. Behind the cart, there are also four soldiers guarding it.
In front of the cart, there's two woman each riding a horse. One of them is Shunran, earlier we see her in Sousou's tent giving a report. While the woman next to her can be assumed as Kakouen. Kakouen wears the same armour as Shunran. But instead red, hers are blue. She has a light blue hair which has a one side bangs. She also has a pair of brown eyes.
Sousou herself is riding in front of the convoy, acting as its leader.
Sousou look back and noticed that Shunran is pouting and refuse to see anything, in other words, pouting and closed her eyes. In fact, she's been like that since she left the tent.
"What's wrong, Shunran? Are you still sulking about that?" Sousou asked.
Still closing her eyes, Shunran answered, "I'm not sulking or anything."
Sousou smiled at her general's antics, "Don't be so sullen. How about I summon you instead of Keifa to my sleeping quarters tonight?"
That one manage to get something from Shunran, she started to blush and shuttering like a little girl, "Wh-What are you saying? I d-don't really..."
Kakouen let out a giggle at Shunran's shuttering, knowing well that her sister DOES want to be at Keifa's spot. You can call it jealousy.
Shunran look at her, noticing her giggle, "What is it Shuuran? What are you laughing about?"
However, Kakouen or Shuuran, just continue giggling and refuse to answer her sister's question.
Suddenly, something caught in Shuuran's eyes. A glitter of light comes from the rooftop. She squint her eyes to look better of what is making the light, until a barrage of arrows came from the source of light.
Her eyes widened. She noticed that the arrows' projectile will hit her lord, Sousou. It was too late. She can't make it to her lord in time. What she can do is just yelled at her lord, "Karin-sama! Look out!"
Everything happens so fast. But somehow, what Shuuran saws happened in a very slow motion. Sousou heard Shuuran's shout and look back at her. She stopped her neck in its track as she saw the rain of arrow coming at her. She wanted to take out her scythe to block the arrows. But the arrows are too close to her. She can't make it in time.
She saw a glimpse of her life flashed in front of her eyes. Thinking that this is her final moment. She almost give-up, until a man jumped out and deflected all the arrows.
Naruto jumped out from the crowd just in time. He also saw the reflection of light comes from the assassin's crossbow. But it's already too late for him to seize the assassin as the hails of arrows already sent to Sousou's head. He reached his kunai in time to deflect the arrows.
Shuuran quickly grabs her lord from her rides and bring her down to road. She immediately curls her body in order to protect her from another hails of arrows, in case there's another attack. While Shunran also jumped out and draws her sword at Naruto's throat, "Who are you?"
Luckily, Naruto wears his mask before he jumped to save Sousou, that manage to conceal his identity, but in the same time, making him looks suspicious to Shunran. He ignores her and looks back at the rooftop. The assassin has gone.
He let out a sigh and looks at Shunran, "Calm down miss, I'm not your enemy. I'm not the one who attacks your lord. There's an assassin at the rooftop that sent those arrows."
Shunran didn't believe his words. She is a warrior with a lot of experience. And experience tells her to not trust people so easily. Especially if the man is looks so suspicious as this one.
"I'm asking you one more time, who are you?" Shunran pointed her sword at Naruto's neck more closely, so close that the sword touched his skin. In fact, the sword is close enough to nick a blood from him, yet there's nothing come out from Naruto's skin. Not even a single sweat.
Naruto calmly said to Shunran, "Who am I is not important. What's important right now is catching the assassin before he gone too far."
People said that ignorance is bliss. But when you are the one who ignored, you can't called that a bliss. An annoyance will be more suited. But what happened to Shunran for Naruto's ignorance is neither a bliss nor annoyance. It's a rage. "Don't you dare to tell me what I have to do! You are not my lord! Guards! Arrest him!"
As soon as she said that, the guards quickly surround Naruto with their spear. Naruto look around warily. Of course, if he wants, he can beat the shit out of them easily. But if he do that, his reputation will get down a lot more. That's something that he doesn't want. His reputation is already bad enough. He slid back the kunai into his sleeves and slowly put his hands up, a surrender gesture.
But before the guards can do anything to him, a sound came from the crowds calling for Naruto, "Naruto-onii-san!"
Naruto didn't need to turn back to recognize the owner of that voice. There's only one person who will call him 'onii-san' in this place. Lin-lin.

Lin-lin just got back from her porter's job with Bachou when she saw the crowd in the street. Curious, she run at the crowd and sees what kind of commotion happens. What she saw was shocking to say at least. She saw the man who nicked as 'Whirlpool' from the last tournament standing alone facing one of Sousou's general whit her blade pointed at his neck.
She looks closely and noticed that Sousou is on the ground while another of her general are covering her and look at 'Whirlpool' cautiously. At first, she hesitant about the man identity since his cloak is different with the one he wore at the tournament. But his mask, it's the same. She also still not sure if this man is truly her self-proclaimed brother. But she has to make sure. Therefore, she did what she could, she yelled at him, "Naruto-onii-san!"

Shunran look at Lin-lin then look back at the man in front of him, "Is that your name? Naruto?"
Naruto calmly answered, "As I said earlier. My identity is not important."
Lin-lin runs until she stands in front him, "You are Naruto-onii-san... right?" Her face is curious, yet worried mixed into one.
Naruto look at her from the slit on his mask, but say nothing.
Shunran glared at him. This man is too suspicious. Why does he don't want to tell his identity? But before she could ask him anymore, Sousou interrupted her, "Shunran that's enough. He's not the assassin. There's someone from that roof that shoot the arrows. Put down your sword already and send some soldiers to search that assassin!"
Shunran look at her lord with a doubt look, "But Karin-sama!"
Sousou glared at her, "I said that's enough! He saves my life. If he's not there, that arrows will already killed me." Sousou look at Naruto, "Isn't that right? Whirlpool-san?"
Naruto tensed and nodded once, "That's right."
Sousou smiled, "I've heard about you, Whirlpool-san. Blown up Enshou's stadium is not very elegant you know?"
Naruto shakes his head, "I'm sure that the news about me is being exaggerated. I'm only remembering blown up a man. Not a stadium."
Sousou smiled even further, "Then how if we talk in my camp? We can discuss your 'exaggerated' news there."
Naruto sweat dropped, 'Damn. This girl is sneaky.'
Before Naruto could answer her 'invitation', Bachou run and grasp a spear from a soldier. She quickly jumped and strikes the spear towards Sousou. "Sousou! Be prepared!"
The strike is fast, smooth, and almost flawless. The girls are surprised at her attacks. Not expected another attack. But Naruto manage to get out from the guards that surrounded him and catch the spear with his left hand.
Bachou surprised that her attacks has failed. Moreover, she didn't know that this 'Whirlpool' can move that fast! In fact, she didn't realise his movement until he stopped her attack dead on.
As she landed at the ground, she tried to yank her spear from the man's grasp. But the spear didn't budge an inch. What a grip!
Naruto didn't stay still for long. As soon as Bachou stopped trying to pull the spear, he quickly moved closer and using his right hand hit a nerve on her neck, puts her to dreamland.
Naruto manage to catch Bachou's body before she hit the ground. But what has done is done. Her action made Shunran and the others tenser. The soldiers also surrounded Naruto and Bachou once again.
Shunran glares at Bachou, "Who is she?"
Naruto look at her, "Don't worry. I'm sure enough that she has no connection with the assassin earlier." Naruto turn around and face Sousou, "The reason she's attacking you, is because she's the daughter of Batou."

"Are you sure you don't want to take off your mask?"
"Yes."
"Tonight is pretty hot. You should take off your mask."
"No thanks. I'm good."
"You know, it's rude to wearing a mask while talking to peoples."
"I know."
"..."
"..."
"TAKE OFF YOUR MASK ALREADY DAMN IT" Sousou shouted at the man in front of her.
It's been three hours since Naruto being taken to Sousou's tent. In that time being, Sousou and the other's general has been trying to take off his mask. At first, they tried to be... polite about it. But when Naruto shows his stubbornness to keep his mask on, they have to use another... violent approaching.
Let's say that it ended with a lot of bruises and swollen eyes.
Sousou is almost, ALMOST, giving up taking off the mask from his face. But she's not the one who gives up easily. Therefore, she's invited him to her tent and... pursued him to take off his mask. Nevertheless, her efforts are pretty much useless. If not, it's only giving her headache.
Right now, she's currently sitting on her pedestal inside her tent with Shunran and Keifa on her side. Naruto is standing in front of her. His mask is still on his face.
"Fine then, you can keep your damn mask on."
"Thank you."
Sousou just shocked her head, this man is truly a pain in the ass. Then she walked from her pedestal to a cabinet near her weapon's rack and pull out a scroll. She rolled it open and looks at him, "Anyway, besides the incident earlier in the market. You have been put on a wanted list. The one who put your head in the list is Lord Enshou from En. The charges are including disturbing peace inside a town, excessive effort of murderer, a collateral damage in tournament's properties, and an attempt of running away from military's interrogation."
Sousou rolled it closed and let out a small smirk, "By the power given to me as an Imperial general, I have a power to judge you right here, and right now. Do you understand your position right now?"
Naruto tilted his head, "What do you want? If you think I will resign myself to you, then you've mistaken."
Sousou nodded, "No. I know that you will say that. Don't worry, I have no intention to do so. Think of it as my gratitude for saving my life earlier."
Shunran look at her lord, "But Karin-sama!"
Sousou look at her, "Shunran, this man has saved my life twice today. Don't you think it's very rude to stab him in the back?"
Shunran scowled at her lord's words. Yes, she knows that this man is pretty much her lord's saviour. But he's still a criminal!
Naruto glances a moment at Shunran before look back at Sousou, "You still haven't answer my question, what do you want from me?"
Sousou pondered for a moment before answering, "Well, I still want to know what exactly happened at that tournament. How about you tell me about it? The truth behind it."
Naruto thinking for a moment. In one side, this is a chance to get his name clean. But in the same time, he will expose some secret behind him. But maybe, he can cover some of it.
Naruto nodded once, "Very well, I'll tell you about what happened in that tournament if you release Bachou."
"No way. I'm going to behead her." Sousou smiled causally.
"Then we appear to have some disagreement here." Naruto said. He needs to let go Bachou. Her action earlier today is just an impulse of her rage for revenge. Besides, Naruto sure that Lin-lin will not happy to see her dead.
"Regardless of her reasons, she made an attempt on my life. I'm going to make her pay for it." Sousou explained with the same casual smile. "She tried to take the life of an Imperial general. Her sin can't just be forgotten, right?"
Naruto stay silent for a moment before let out a sigh, "You are right. But you are also wrong."
Sousou frowned, "What do you mean?"
"I won't say that I disagree with you. No matter how much I want to say that you can spare her life and forgive her, I will not say it. Because that's naive." Naruto let out a sigh again, "But I'm still going to save her. You don't have to forget her sin, because it doesn't matter for me. I am and I will save her."
Sousou, Shunran, and Keifa tensed at his statement. This man just casually refuses and ignores Sousou's judgement. Furthermore, he's saying that he will save her! Does this man don't know what he will face?
Sousou's frowned has got deeper at his statement, "Whirlpool-san, do you realize what you have done just now?"
Naruto nodded, "Yes I know exactly what I've just done."
Keifa sneered at him, "Are you saying, that you are going to make all of us your enemy just to save that girl?"
"If I have to, then yes."
Keifa snorted, "Are you insane? Do you know what you have gotten into? You just basically defied an Imperial general! What you're going to do? Fighting a whole army alone?!"
Naruto glared at her and she's unconsciously stepped back. His eyes have just... glowing? His eyes are still clear blue. But she swears that those eyes have just glowing. It's like drilling into her soul. Thinking about it making her shudder.
"Yes. If I have to fight the whole army, then I will. Or perhaps you have forgotten that not long ago I just beat the shit out of your so-called 'Elite Soldier' bare handed?" Naruto asked.
Sousou think about his statement carefully. True of what he said, when she tried to make him take off his mask with force, he manage to beat her special soldier easily. Those guys are not your usual soldiers. They are elite. Specially trained to be the best of the best. Their number may be small, but their reputation is not to be underestimated. Across the country, they are the best soldiers. But this man has beaten them easily today. She still doubting that he'll success, but she can't take a risk. This man is a wild card. Too wild for her liking.
"Then what you said is true. We have some disagreement here." Sousou said to him.
Naruto just nodded at her, "Indeed we have."
Sousou shocked her head, "I don't get it. Why do you want to save her so badly? Who is she to you? Why is she so important to you?"
Naruto let out a small laugh, "No. She's nobody. In fact, I barely know her. But someone I knew will be upset if she's dies."
"Is it that little girl from before?" Sousou asked.
Naruto keep silent for a moment, "Yes, she is."
"Then are you her 'Naruto-onii-san'?" Sousou asked again, smirking.
Naruto shocked. She heard that?! Damn, I truly fell to her trap. Naruto nodded, "Yes, I am."
Sousou let out a sigh, "So that's what happened. But what I don't understand, is why you hide your identity to her?" Sousou asked aloud, "Or maybe, because she didn't know about this side of yours and you want to keep it hidden from her?"
Naruto flinched. Damn it! Why does every women he met, they are always cunning like a fox? This one especially manages to exposes his thought. No wonder Shiroi-fudo want her. Of course he can say no. But that will bring too many questions. And that is something what Shikamaru said 'troublesome'.
Naruto throws his arms up in the air, "Fine! Yes. I am this 'Naruto-onii-san' that the girl talks about. Her name is Lin-lin and I'm somehow became her adoptive brother. And yes. I refuse to talk to her and hid my identity because I don't want to drag her into my 'businesses. Satisfied?"
Sousou smiled at him. Watching someone like him losing his composure is always amusing, "Yes. I am satisfied."
"Is that means that you will release Bachou?"
"Of course not. Why should I?" Sousou answered with a smug look.
Naruto really want to wipe that look from her, but hitting girls is not really his favourite, "Look here, we can settle this peacefully. I want you to release Bachou. If I have to use violence, then I will. But if I can choose, I prefer not to. I'm sure you feel that way too."
Sousou fell silent hearing his words, "...Fine. I will spare Bachou's life."
Shunran and Keifa look at their lord with a shocked look. But before any of them manage to get a words about her decision, Sousou continued talking, "But with some conditions."
Naruto already expected it. There's no way she will let him get away that easily.
"Are my stories about the tournament is not enough?"
Sousou laughed, "Of course not. What you want is something more. It will be fair if I want more."
"Then what do you want?"
Sousou's smile got sinister, "I want your past."
"Nope. Can't do. That one is off limit." Naruto answered immediately.
"What's wrong? Is there something that you don't want peoples know? Something... dangerous?"
Naruto glared at her, "Yes. Something that better left unsaid."
Sousou pouted, "Fine. Then, be one of my general. I can use someone like you."
Naruto shocked his head, "Sorry. But I don't bow my head to anyone."
Sousou gritted her teeth, "Do you want to save her or not?!"
Calmly, Naruto answered, "Of course I want to save her. But what you're asking for is impossible. Ask something else."
If looks could kill, then Naruto would already dead right now. Spaming in the floor as his life is being taken away by Sousou's glare. But fortunately, looks could not kill. As such, our hero is still safe. For now.
Sousou massages her temple. This conversation is going nowhere. Both sides want something from each others that each don't want to lose. As she think it over, since when this man looks very... appetizing? In fact, didn't they just meet today? True that his story is reaching her ears before the real one coming in life. So why does she have this feeling to not let him go?
Ah, that's right. He saves her life today. She's already THAT close with death, but this man has saves her. Perhaps, this... feeling is just an after effect from his heroic actions today?
Suddenly, something clicking in her mind. There's an assassin today. And this man in front of her definitely knows something about it. She can use that as her bargains. Let's hope he doesn't turn down this one too.
"Today, you save me from an assassin, correct?"
Naruto nodded, "Yes, what's about it?"
"If you want Bachou's life, then I have to ask another life." Sousou smiled, "I believe you know what I'm asking for right?"
Naruto nodded in understanding. So she wanted him to kill that assassin. Well, it's an easy bargain since he'll do that even if she didn't ask him, "You want me to kill him?"
"No."
Naruto stupefied, "What?"
Sousou shocked her head, "I don't want you to just kill him. I want you to destroy the person who sent that assassin. Kill the man who responsible with the most painful way you can think of. If it's an organization, then I want you to destroy it to the core."
Naruto paused then start laughing. Sousou look at him with a mix of disgust and curious, "What's so funny?"
Naruto stopped laughing. He settled himself with a breath before answering, "Nothing, it's just... you don't have to ask me to do it. I'll do it anyway. In fact, I think I could give you a guarantee that I'll do it."
As soon as he said that, he jumped or more precisely, leaped into Sousou's pedestal. Sousou and the other girls are surprised at his sudden actions. But Shunran has learnt from what she saw today. She quickly reached out her sword and also jumped at him, trying to intercept whatever he might do to her lord. Naruto noticed it and ducked from her swing, fortunately, he manage to land in front of Sousou. Naruto takes out a hidden kunai from his sleeve and stabs it behind Sousou's chair.
The kunai manage to stab 'something' behind the chair. That 'something' flew from behind the chair and dropped on the ground. That 'something' is the earlier assassin.
He glared at Naruto while clutching his bleeding arm. The injury is not deep, but somehow his arm start to feel numb.
"It's no use to run away. This kunai is coated with a strong poison." Naruto stare at him, "I have the antidote, and I'll give it to you if you're willing to cooperate."
"In your death!" The assassin spat out and run out from the tent. Shunran immediately pursued him while Keifa ordered some guards to help Shunran.
Naruto sighed, "I'll take as a no."
Naruto run out as well, helping Shunran captured the assassin. It shouldn't be difficult. The assassin is already injured and will not survive from his potion.
He need to thanks Kohakuren for give him such a strong potion.
Naruto manage to catch them up. When he reached the destination, he saw Shunran and a half dozen of soldiers are surrounding the already dead assassin. His body is leaned at a tree. His mouth is foaming and blood dripping from his ears, nose, and eyes.
Shunran noticed Naruto's arrival and gives him a nod, "Whatever that potion is made of, it's very deathly. He didn't last long at all. He just dropped at a tree and then died. Just like that. Actually, I don't think he's even has a chance to tell us any information."
Naruto shocked his head, "He didn't need to be alive to tell us. Well, actually tells ME."
Shunran furrowed her brow, "What do you mean?"
"A human's brain is still functioning even if the person is dead. Of course not for a long time but long enough for me to gather any useful information." Naruto placed his hand on the assassin's head and start concentrating. There's a glow covering his body and the assassin's head. They stand still like that for a minute until Naruto dropped his hand, "As I thought, there's nothing new from what I already know."
"Then let's head back. I'll tell the soldiers to burn his body."
Naruto nodded and start goes back with Shunran. But after a few steps, Shunran stopped him, "You've never planned to give him the antidote, haven't you?"
Naruto shocked his head, "There's no antidote from the beginning. I'm planning to kill him, just to end his suffering."
Shunran gives him a dirty look, "I do not believe you. Your attire and actions resemble of an assassin. Karin-sama may trust you, but I'm not."
"I never hoped that you trust me anyway." Naruto answered, "In fact, it's better if you don't."
Shunran ask him, "What do you mean?"
"Shunran, you are a brave warrior. You are loyal to your lord as you should be. But trust, is something else. Trust is not something you get like a gift, but something that you earn. It's true that some people will say that you should trust me as your lord trusts me. But I think it's wrong. Trust can't be used like that. It's something personal. If you trust me just because your lord trusts me, then you are an idiot. That's the same as you throw away your humanity and act as a puppet for another person."
Naruto look up at the sky, "Everyone is a person of their own. You have a right not to trust me. That's not your job as a soldier to their lord. That's your job as a human."
Naruto look at her, "Don't ever lose your humanity."
And with that, Naruto turn back and continued walking to the camp. Shunran look at him and for the first time, she has a feeling that this man is not as she think is."
