Chapter 15: Burning Village, Pillar of Light, and Grave
Drip... drip... drip...
Sounds of water hitting a pool echoes in a dead air.
Slowly, Naruto lift up his face and meet an old yet familiar face. It's been a long time since he met him. The last time he met the creator of ninjutsu is years ago when the war still ragging and Kaguya make a fucking mess at the battlefield.
"It's been a long time, old man." Naruto greet the hermit of six paths.
"Indeed it is." He answered very calm.
Naruto scratch his head, "I guess I messed up, huh?"
"Limiting one's true ability is a very chivalrous act. Although in your case, it's because you don't want to make an armageddon in this dimension." The hermit said to Naruto.
Naruto pouted, "Well, with how the balance must be protected, that one sounds as a good plan."
"Although the enemy is stronger than you until he manage to kill you?"
Silence draws upon them. The sound of water dripping echoes once more.
"Say, old man." Naruto start, "Should I release my limiter?"
The old man didn't answer him straight out. Instead, he waved his staff around and pictures of the world fill the space.
"Many human seek for power. Some manage to gain power more than other, but only a little that use the power wisely. You, undoubtly are a very strong human. You didn't stop when our war is over. You seek out more power but didn't consumed by its greedy nature."
Naruto waved his hand, "Cut the crap old man. Just answer my question."
"... Wheter you shall release your limiter or not, is up to you. But as that vampire say you must stop pretending and be yourself, or you will lost something precious. That man may have an unique personality. But wise words shall not take lightly."
Naruto sighed, "Something precious? But I don't have one. Or at least I don't have anymore."
The old man smiled, "Then maybe you have found it. It's just that you haven't realized it."
"Can I?" Naruto whispered, "After everything I saw and done. Can I found something precious to me again?"
"How about that girl? Aisha? Or maybe Sei? What if they die? Can you accept that?"
Naruto's eyes widened, "That's..."
"A small force shall meet it small counterpart. But shall the big one face the same." With that words, the old man start to disappear. Leaving Naruto behind.
"You shitty old man. You never can't give me a straight answer huh? Fine then! I'LL BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF THAT GOLDILOCKS! KURAMA!"
"About time you call me, brat!" A heavy voice roaring as shockwave of power engulfing Naruto's body.

"Everyone! Hurry up and come inside!" An old man shouted as hard as he can.
Many people run inside a big hole inside the village's chief house. It's a hidden passage towards the other side of the mountain in case the village is being attacked. The original plan is to use it as a runaway path when the village is under attack of an army. But they never think using it to run away from a monster.
Said monster is flying above the village and shooting many weapons like an arrow. To make the matter worse, the weapons that the monster throw exploded upon impact. Blazing the village in fire.
Sei watched the villagers pushing each other. They all want to seek shelter as fast as they can. Even if they hurt someone else in the process.
"Don't push each other! Be careful!" She shouted. But no one listen to her. They all too afraid and too panic to hear the voice of someone who came with a crutch.
"Hawawa! Chouun-dono! The monster is coming here!" Koumei said to Sei with a panicked face.
Sei looks up. True as Koumei said, the monster starts to glide down towards them. A black miasma floating around it, give it a more sinister look.
"Damn it! Where the hell is you, Naruto?" Sei said the last sentence in a whisper.
"Suikyou-sensei!"
Sei turns her head quickly as she heard Koumei's scream. There, running as fast as she can, while flailing her hands around to make sure the monster noticed her, is Suikyou.
Sei's face turn pale, 'She didn't think to... damn it!'

Gilgamesh watch as those... plebeians run away from his sight. It feels so... satisfying to see the chaos he makes. Those... trashes can burn away and he won't give a damn. It's been a long time since he feels this pleasure. The pleasure of killing.
True, he may decent from the Heroes' Throne as archer. But as Angra Mainyu's power seep into him. The more he let his instinct to be controlled with chaotic nature.
The pact he made will make sure that one he died, Angra Mainyu will take over him and show its power once more to the world.
"Come here! The one you want is me!"
Gilgamesh tilts his head to the side. There, a woman running against the current flow of people. Gilgamesh recognizes her. Of course he wills recognise that woman. Especially since that 'man' make sure to drill every target's face inside his mind.
This woman however, is not a main target. Not even close. She is supposed to be dying whether they kill her or not. She WILL die sooner or later.
Gilgamesh smirked and flew down. He'll have a fun with her.

Suikyou run faster as she saw that she manages to get the monster attention. She knows that her efforts are futile. She knows that she'll die. But she won't be taken down as easy as that. At least, she can give the villagers some time. No matter how small it is. Every little time she can give will be very precious to Shuri.
'Uzumaki-dono, where are you?' Suikyou thought to herself.
But no matter how fast she runs. No matter how agile she runs. No matter how she run from alley to alley. Her chaser is flying.
Therefore, here she stopped abruptly as some kind of flying vehicle landed right in front of her.
Suikyou stopped running as fear and something... foul seeping to her mind. She was paralyzed in front of it.
"Tell me, why are you running?" the creature asked Suikyou.
Whatever Suikyou want to say, it's caught up in her throat. She can't move her lips. The sickening feeling that the creature emitted is too strong for her.
The smell of death. Smell of fear. Smell of SINS.
"It's nauseating isn't it?" The creature jumped from the vehicle. He slowly circling Suikyou who began to lost her strength. She buckled down and threw up.
"Trash like you, should not even crawl." The creature raised his hand. A small ripple came out and a dark sword falls to his hand, "The only place that belongs to you... is hell."
Gilgamesh shoved to sword straight from her back through her chest. Suikyou's eyes widened a little, recognizing the pain. Slowly, she moved her hand to the blade that comes from her chest. It's sharp. Very sharp. Her fingers almost instantly cut upon touching the blade.
And then, she smiled. She smiled as she starts to lose her vision. Fire roaring around her. The one who kill her still standing at her side. But she didn't feel afraid. She didn't feel scared.
She feels at peace.

Gilgamesh looks down at the corpse. He snorted, that was too easy. At first he wanted to make fun of her. Stripping her and throw her around at the village sounds very appealing. Maybe he will torture her in front of so many people. But she died too quickly. She died like a bug that stepped on foot. Even a cockroach is still more durable than her. Disappointed, he turns around.
"SUIKYOU-SENSEI!"
A high pitch scream came behind him. The source of the scream is a very young girl. The girl that on top of the 'must be dead' list. Her face is pale. Obviously she was shocked at her mentor's unmoving body.
Gilgamesh smiled at her face full of terror. Face of despair. Face of denial.
He dismiss the black sword and let the little girl run towards the body. He can slaughter the villagers latter. This girl will be better. And maybe, she will hold out more than that woman.
Gilgamesh watch as the girl ignores him and run towards the Suikyou's dead body. She starts crying and sobbing. She hugs the body very close and crying loudly. Tears fells from her eyes down to her cheeks.
What a sight. Gilgamesh yanked the girl's hair and held her on the air.
The girl cried from pain and anguish. Her wet eyes look straight at him and give him the best angry look she could muster.
Gilgamesh chuckled at her, "What a fool. She tried to save you and this is how you pay her sacrifice? Running straight to me? Well, I can't blame you for that. Everyone MUST run to their KING!"
Gilgamesh raise his hand and a dagger came to his hand, "I shall cut your head and throw it at the people!"
The dagger came down but it never touched Koumei's neck. Because at that time, a Rasenshuriken flew at him and cut through his arms.
Gilgamesh dropped the girl and turn around to see the attacker. But Naruto is too fast for him. He already in front of him with a big Rasengan on his hand.
Naruto grind the Rasengan through Gilgamesh' chest. This action manages to throw him away and Naruto pick Koumei up and disappears from that street.

Everything happens too fast.
Her mentor's death.
Her near death experience.
And her saviour who comes almost too late.
Koumei look at Naruto who carried her on bridal style. On normal circumstance, she may blush and maybe, fainted.
But right now is not the time for her to do that. She looks up at her saviour who just let her down to the ground. His facial expression is hard. The warm smile that she saw when they pick the herbs together is gone. A cold and a hard steel determination have replaced that face.
Koumei almost shuddered when she saw Naruto's eyes. The usually gentle blue eyes have gone and now it's red with a slit like a fox and a rectangular pupil crossed each other.
The last but not the least, she saw what has really changed about Naruto's appearance.
It's his attire.
Gone away his usual black cloak. Now, he wear some kind of yellow and black cloak that flickering like it was made from fire. There's some strange circle on his shoulders, chest, and belly.
Naruto look at her and with the most serious face she ever seen, he speak very calm, "Find Sei and go away as far as you can from here."
With that final word, Koumei watched as Naruto fly. Yes. Fly or floating very fast. There's no wing or anything like that. He just flies.
Fly towards where he sends the monster away.
"Koumei-dono! What are you doing?!"
Koumei turn around and met the face of Sei full of worries. Albeit her legs that still hurts like crazy, she pushes herself and following Koumei who run after Suikyou.
Koumei look at her with a blank look. Then, slowly, she look down at her hands which still covered by blood. Then, her tears that stopped because of Naruto's arrival start to leak again.
"Ch-chouun-dono..."
Whatever she want to say next, it's been sunk away by her cried. Cried for losing someone she loves.
Cried of loneliness.

Naruto fly as fast as he can towards where Gilgamesh falls. He knew that man will not down that easily.
Just as he thought that, several swords flying at him with amazing speed.
Naruto dodged all of them and began to fly faster. He can sense the corrupt power slowly radiating more power. He waved his hand to his side and one of the Truth Seeking Balls morphed into his hand like a spear or staff.
It didn't take long for the smoke to dissipate as Gilgamesh's power exploded and waved the cloud away.
He brings his hands down and the air above Naruto rippled and weapons start to rain him down.
Naruto flying to Gilgamesh while dodging the weapons that quite literally, raining. Sometimes he bats away with his make-shift staff.
But Gilgamesh didn't stand down either, he take out two gigantic hammers and maul one of it to Naruto.
Naruto didn't stand down or let him beat his body like a rag. He stops the hammer with his staff and quickly morphed another Rasengan, "Goku! Your turn!"
Goku's chakra mixed with his Rasengan and Naruto immediately shove it again at Gilgamesh. Surprisingly, Gilgamesh didn't dodge. He just let the attack collide with his stomach and destroy it. But then, he grip Naruto's arm and swing down the other hammer.
Naruto look up and the hammer hit him, very hard.
Gilgamesh smirked at Naruto's body under the hammer, "Know your place, mongrels."
"You who should know your place, you damn goldilocks!"
Gilgamesh looks up and surprised to see a hundred Naruto with the same flames cloak flying to him. Every one of them holding Rasengan in all variety. Big, small, Rasenshuriken.
Gilgamesh only has a little time to open his Gate of Babylon and firing his weapon, but his attack is too slow and there are too many targets for him to hit.
The only comparison that matches the view is an ant being fired with a Gatling. A very huge Gatling and lots of bullets.
Naruto watched as the barrage stopped. There are a very huge crater where Gilgamesh standing. Thick smokes come out like a volcano. In normal case, no one should be able to live out of those attacks. But this is Gilgamesh that Naruto faced. The first king on the history.
And the one who holds the anti-world weapon.
Spiralling power come from the crater. There, standing with his most powerful and treasured weapon is Gilgamesh.
Some of black aura that engulfing him is dripping off likes a thick liquid. Bruised and scars can be seen from his face that no longer covered by Angra Mainyuu's power.
On his right hand, swirling with power is a sword. Sword of Rupture, Ea.
"Wake up." Are the only words that Gilgamesh spoken. But as he said that, the three cylinder segment on the swords began to stir. Wind around it began to stir and compressed. Swirl of air feels very enormous for such a blade.
Naruto can feel the power behind the sword. And even he's in Sage of Six Path's mode, he isn't sure he can get away from that attack, "Damn it! Everyone! Give me a Bijuudama! Put all of your chakra on it and get ready for it!"
A big ball of energy start to swirled in front of Naruto. Naruto rarely used Bijuudama because of its devastating attacks. But right now, his choices are very limited.
Naruto look at Gilgamesh. It seems that Gilgamesh has finished charging up Ea. The sword is radiating power so much that a tornado began to swirling around him. But Naruto also finished charging up. The Biijudama that he holds is the biggest Bijuudama he ever made. The normal black colour is mixed with a little colourful chakra that every single Bijuu pour into.
"Enuma Elish!" Gilgamesh shouted.
"Bijuudama!" Naruto shouted.
The attacks hit each other and start to push each other. The power behind those two great attacks is very big that the area around them is starting to break down. Earth splitting apart. The air is rippling away. Even both parties began to take damage from other's attack. Naruto's cloak is fluttering away and began to fade out. While Angra Mainyuu's influence also start to dripping away.
Eventually, both attacks began to blur and merging into a huge explosion. The air became dead for a second before massive gust of winds blowing everything into chaos. It didn't ended just like that. The explosion is very bright and huge. It goes out to the sky like a pillar of light.
That day, everyone in the country of China can see at the orange dusk of sky, a bright pillar of light that ascended to the sky.
Hundreds years later, that day will be remember as the day where the sky is torn apart by bright white pillars that came from earth to the heaven.

Kousonsan's place
"What the hell is that pillar?!" Kousonsan yelled at no one from her office windows. She just finished her training and about to finished some paper works when a bright pillar came from end of the sky.
"What the hell is happening with this country?" Kousonsan asked silently.

Enshou's palace
"Iishe! Toshi! It's still noon! Shut close the windows!" Enshou yelled to her subordinates. Her eyes are closed with a pair of cucumber.
"But Reiha-sama, it's already afternoon and the window is already closed." Toshi said.
"Then where the light coming from?" Enshou take off the cucumber and look at the window. True, the windows are closed but a bright light shine through its gap.
"I'll open the window." Iishe walk to open the window. Imagine their surprised when they saw the pillar of light.
"Re-reiha-sama... what is that?" Toshie asked her lord.
"Why are you asking me?! Iishe, what is that pillar?!"
"Reiha-sama, I-I don't know."

Sousou's camp
Sousou's tent is being yanked open by Shunran, "Karin-sama! You can't believe this! There's-"
"A pillar of light on the end of the sky?" Sousou interrupted her.
"A-Ah, y-yes." Shunran shuttered.
Sousou look at Shunran for a moment before turn her head again at the hole on her tent where she can see the pillar very clearly, "I'm looking at it. I'm looking at it very clearly, Shunran." Her voice is very low. Shunran can see that her lord is currently thinking very hard.

Toutou's palace
"Yue! Yue! There's a huge pillar of light! You have to see this!" Kaku shouted as she run as fast as she can towards Yue's office.
"What is it Ei-chan?" Yue asked innocently.
Kaku didn't bother her anymore. She didn't care that she's currently drinking tea with Ryofu. She grasps her hands and starts to bring her at the nearest window. She opens it and yelled, "Look at that!"
Yue's jaw dropped as she looks at the pillar of light, "Ei-chan, what is that?"
"I don't know. But whatever it is, I hope it didn't bring us trouble."

With Aisha and Lin-lin
"Lin-lin, you okay?" Aisha asked Lin-lin who hides under her arms.
Lin-lin nodded, "I'm okay. But that one is sure a strong storm."
Both of them are resting in a cave as the sun start to sinking on the horizon. They almost got a heart attack when a loud explosion rumbled from the outside of the cave. The sudden storm that follows start to make their legs tremble, thinking that there's a God who angered.
Aisha nodded, "Yes, but that's ended too quickly. Wh- Lin-lin! Look at that!" Aisha pointed at the sky, where the pillar of light can be seen.
"Onee-san, wha-what is that?!" Lin-lin shouted.
"I don't know Lin-lin. But that looks unnatural to me. I... have a bad feeling about that. Let's not get near it okay?"
Lin-lin nodded, but both of them are still wondering what pillar of light that is.

Dust blows everywhere. The heat from the explosion still warm on the air. There's no sign of life everywhere. Plants and grass are obliterated. Rocks and ground are being shoved everywhere.
Here, in the almost replica of hell, walking very slowly is Naruto. Some blistered adorned his face. His Sage of Six Path mode is already ended. His black shirt is torn and a shallow but long scar crossed at his chest.
Although his breath is ragged and sweats pouring down, his walk is sure. The last attack has blown him away quite far and he's too tired to run, don't bother fly.
However, in his state, he can still feel his presence. Gilgamesh presence. It's faint but it's still there.
Naruto stopped walking and look down at the small valley that was made from the attack. Lying at his back in the middle of valley is Gilgamesh.
Naruto jumped down and cringed when his feet tremble from the jump. He walks slowly at Gilgamesh.
Gilgamesh looks up and met Naruto's blue eyes, "Heh. That was something. I never think that my most precious weapon will be defeated."
What just Gilgamesh said is true. At the final moment, Naruto's Bijuudama manage to overcome it and push it at Gilgamesh. The backlash of it that Naruto didn't think about.
Naruto sit down at his side, "Why? Why are you doing this?" Naruto asked.
Gilgamesh smirked, "Why you asked? If I have to answer that, then my answer will be my nature."
"Your nature?"
"I'm a king, and a king is to rule. Rule everything. That's what a king is." Gilgamesh answered, "But once again, I'm wrong. My stubbornness that make me like this. Lying on the ground. Defeated."
"Don't you worry? Aren't you afraid? What if your actions make this world rifted and exploded?! What if our battle is chaotic enough to bring the balance out of order?!" shouted Naruto.
"But it didn't. That man manages to bring this particular dimension to stop at its fake balance. No matter what outsider from outer world wreck this world, it won't end. At least that man can do something useful. The question is, are YOU afraid?" Gilgamesh asked Naruto.
Naruto look at the man who he fought with a pity, "You should be. You should be afraid."
Gilgamesh scoffed some blood, "Don't give me that crap. A king didn't have anything to be afraid of."
Naruto didn't answer him. Both of them fall into silence until Gilgamesh broke it, "Are you going to finish me or what?"
"I don't need to. You will be gone anyway. Angra Mainyuu is not something you should make a pact."
Gilgamesh laughed albeit the blood that dripping out from his mouth, "Well, it's too late telling me that now. Tell me, because I want to hear it from your mouth, your name. I know your name already, but I want to hear it directly from your mouth. So I can know, before my final death, name of the man who manages to overcome my greatest treasure and defeat the righteous king."
"Naruto... Naruto Uzumaki."
Gilgamesh smiled, "I see. Maelstrom. What a befitting name for someone who creates a maelstrom in his fight. Someone who didn't even use his sword against me. Just his fists and some magic trick."
Naruto shake his head, "It's ninjutsu. It's different with magic. It didn't use prana or anything like that."
"Ninjutsu huh? That sounds interesting, and that sword?"
Naruto held the hilt of his sword. The battered sword that never he use on any fight since he arrive at this world, "This sword didn't meant to be drawn upon you. It has different purpose and different target."
Gilgamesh chuckled, "What a shame! That sword certainly powerful. I'll gladly to add it on my treasure."
Naruto give him a slightly surprised look, "You can feel it?"
"Of course I can. You may seal it and that sword may be sleeping. But I know, that sword is very powerful, if not more powerful than my Ea. If you draw that sword during our fight, your victory will be guarantee."
Naruto scoffed, "As I said, this sword didn't meant for you."
"Yeah. I heard it. But I think I'll be a little jealous to the man who will face that sword." Gilgamesh's body start to glowing in golden aura, "I guess my time is come. Before I left, let me give you a present. Think of it as a gift, for defeating me."
Gilgamesh raised his right hand. A swirling golden appears and an object drops at his open palm. It looks like a normal bracelet. The colour is silver with some ornate design made from gold.
But that's the end of the normality. It may be faint, but Naruto can see a bluish aura surrounding it. It flickered like a flame. It's very faint and little, but it's there. And there's more, Naruto can feel that there's something with the bracelet. Something strong, and feels like a chain.
Gilgamesh gives it to Naruto who accepted it, "What is this?"
Gilgamesh smirked haughtily, "One of the reasons why this world hasn't collapse."
Naruto's eyes widened. But before he can ask anything else, Gilgamesh body has disappeared in golden mist. A trail of golden particle flying slowly towards the dark sky.
Naruto watch it a little longer until he can't see it anymore before turn his attention back to the bracelet at his hand.
Time to give a certain old vampire a job to do.

Naruto standing at a cliff. He wore his usual cloak, but this time, some bandages covering his body and face, result of his match with Gilgamesh.
He looks bellow where he can see a lone grave. That grave belongs to Suikyou. They manage to locate her body under the village's ruins. Miraculously, her corpse is untouchable from the fire and all those chaos.
He can see Koumei and Sei are praying at her grave, he will give her his pray sometimes latter. He can feel their sorrowful pray. Especially Koumei. Naruto remember when Jiraiya dead and he somehow can feel her sadness.
His face becomes more sorrowful. One more person died because of Shiroi-fudo. He knows that Suikyou will die sooner or later because of her illness. But that didn't change the fact that she died in the hands of Shiroi-fudo.
The winds blows pass him. His cloak fluttering away and petals of dried leaves rolling at his feet. The scenery at this cliff is calming, melancholy, and peaceful.
Rows and rows of tress grow over the cliff. A huge river streaming at the middle of the cliff. It's another miracle that his fight didn't bring this peacefulness to chaos. Such a huge shame if it did.
However, Naruto's heart is not as peaceful as the scenery. His heart is full of concern. Concern about what he will do now.
First he needs to report the bracelet to Zelretch, that's for sure. But then, what next? What about the girls? Will he run away again? Leaving Koumei and Sei alone?
"Naruto-dono."
Naruto turn his head around. It's Sei who called him. Standing timidly next to her is Koumei. Naruto can see some dried tears and her eyes are red and swollen. She must be crying all night long.
Naruto really glad that both of them are safe. Sei manages to persuade Koumei to leave the burning village. It takes a lot of efforts to do so. Koumei is very persistence to bring Suikyou's corpse with them. But if Sei compiles her plead, then they may have died in fire. The explosion of Naruto's battle has taken its effect on the village. A huge violent wind comes from the explosion and takes its tool on the village. Many houses are ripped apart and flying objects that whirling violently can be deathly.
That's another reason why Suikyou's almost untouchable corpse is considered a miracle.
Naruto smiled at both of them, "You two have finished?"
Sei nodded, she looks at Koumei who still looks sullen. Naruto make a bitter smile, "Koumei-chan, before both of us go to the mountain, Suikyou asked me to bring you with me in my journey. I haven't given her my answer. So what I'm going to do is to let you decide by yourself. You must realize by now that my journey is not an easy one. We won't have a picnic travel or sightseeing journey. My journey will full of danger and many people will die. You also have seen what kind of enemies that I made. They are strong, very strong, and I'll tell you this, they have your head as a bounty. For a reason that I'm not sure, they want you die."
Naruto waited for Koumei to make reactions to his words. Seeing that there were none, he continues, "If you decide to still following me, then I'll protect you as hard as I can. Following me will bring you closer to danger, but in the same time, it brings me closer to you to protect. But if you decide to stay here, at this village, then I won't persuade you. You are free to choose."
Naruto look at Sei, "The same goes to you. I know that you have said that you'll following me. But until now, you never see my real enemies. How big the danger that you'll face if you follow me."
Both of them are silent. Naruto then start to walk away, "I'll be at the grave if you have found your answer."
Naruto walk until he stands in front of the grave. Seeing the grave so close like this has made his heart ache. He remembers the monument in Konoha where it built to remember every ninja that has died in the war.
But now, he stands here to look at the grave of people he failed to protect. He reached under his cloak and pull out a decorated fan that usually Suikyou brings.
Naruto traced his fingers on the decoration at the fan, "You really are something, you know that? I never know you already plan it this far."
The only sound that answers Naruto is silent grave.

Sounds of footsteps came from behind. Naruto didn't need to turn to know who came, "So, did you two make your choices?"
Sei and Koumei looks at each other. They both nodded and look at Naruto with a firm look, "We want to follow you."
Naruto nodded, "Okay. Then let's move along. We need to leave this place. Oh by the way, Koumei-"
"Shuri."
Naruto blinked, "Huh?"
"Call me Shuri." Koumei/Shuri said with a heavy blush.
Naruto smiled, "Shuri-chan then. Here, this fan belongs to Suikyou, but her will told me that I should give it to you. It belongs to you know. Take a good care of it."
Naruto give her the fan. Shuri look at the fan before she takes it with a huge smile on her face.
"Thank you."
