I'm sorry 'bout it but feel free to point it out to me. My keyboard sort of has a problem with the space bar. Oh! And thank you guys for leaving reviews, follows, and all that. You people are amazing!

Psychokinetic Disaster

VI

Just as his thoughts strayed, Jason finally spoke up. "We need to go to my house. Dad knows what happened. He's already calling a meeting for the Olympians. And we need to be in it."

Percy froze and stared at the blonde teen known as his friend. "H-how do you know about them?" He asked feeling confused. One thing is leading to another. He just doesn't know how to keep up with all this. "What do you mean your dad has called a meeting? And why do we need to be in it?" Percy asked. Jason sighed and grabbed the other teen's arm, effectively dragging him towards a cab to head to his place.

"I see you found out about the Olympians. How much else do you know?" Jason interrogated. As they made their way to their destination, Percy decided to spill everything to Jason seeing that he knows more than he's letting on.

"My dad's part of them. He wants to consider himself as the leader in the organization but the members fail to see why he should be. Not that it caused a big ruckus or anything." Jason sighed. Percy listened attentively to everything what his friend has to say. "I guess this is a good time to say that your dad is part of the Olympians too. Might even get a chance to see him in the meeting my dad planned on the spot." He said. Percy ran a hand through his dark hair and leaned back into the not-so-soft but comfortable enough seat of the cab.

"From what I heard, Nico's dad is part of the Olympians." Jason said. Percy nodded slowly and looked out the window. His friend resumed telling him information he already heard of from Hades himself. He muted everything out as he recalled what happened not a few hours ago. They had taken him. They had taken Nico. Percy couldn't not suppress how angry and guilty he felt. He did practically nothing when Nico defended himself out there. God, he felt so useless. As the cab inched closer to Jason's home, Percy dreaded to face the wrath of Hades. He swore to protect Nico. And he had failed.

The brunette with green eyes groaned audibly as they climbed out of the cab after paying. Jason's house wasn't small but it wasn't too big too. "You okay?" Noticing the anxiety building inside him, Jason asked Percy. The latter only shook his head and nodded towards the entrance of Jason's house. "I'm fine. Can't wait to meet new people." He muttered.

Once they were inside, Percy could hear the quiet whispers and chattering from a distance. His blonde friend led him the way. Every step he took, he felt his heartbeat thud noisily against his chest. The chattering stopped when Jason and Percy reached a door located at the very back of the house.

Jason knocked three times fast then a slow two knocks. He heard the door unlock and pushed it open as he urged Percy inside. The room's occupants stared at the newcomers until a man with a beard in a suit cleared his throat. He couldn't see the resemblance but immediately Percy can tell that he was the one known as Zeus Jupiter Grace, Jason's father. At some point in his life, Jason told Percy his dad preferred to be called Jupiter. Though other Olympians rather they call him Zeus just to annoy him.

The man held an aura of authority and the way his seat was elevated from the others confirmed his suspicion. "Father, this is Percy Jackson. We have witnessed the capture of an escapee from a few days ago. He and the escapee are... closer than acquaintances." He said. This caused a whispering among the other people in the room. Percy looked at each one trying to find the man with green eyes. When his eyes landed them, he was startled to see him looking back already.

"And by escapee you mean..." Jupiter trailed off, leaning forward. His eyes were trained on Percy and that was an excuse for him to break off the staring contest he had with whom he wished to assume is his dad. The brunette took a deep breath and stared at the floor below him. "Nico di Angelo, sir." He announced. The room quieted and Percy shivered when he heard a sharp intake of breath. Presumably Hades.

"Nico di Angelo," Jupiter drawled, his gaze meeting Hades, "you say." Percy nodded as he stared at the ground. "Then we have much to discuss." The man seated higher than the others announced loudly.

..

Nico blinked slowly, welcoming the blurry sight. He was moving and realized he was strapped to a gurney. Two people on either side of him are pulling him into a somewhat familiar area. He was confused when he felt the absence of pain on his shoulder. Looking down slightly, he could see that it was bandaged. But it couldn't have healed at a short time, could it?

Or has he been in this place longer than he thought?

Panic swelled inside him. No, it can't be. He struggled in his straps but it was useless. "Subject 26-X8 has awakened." One person on his right side said. Their faces were covered with masks and they wore long white lab coats. He couldn't see their eyes as well and the masks covering half their face sort of muffled their voices. "Leave it be. It is weak, as of now." Another voice answered on his left side. The voice sounded low and scratchy. The boy glared at the man—woman?—talking. Most probably a man.

He knew better than to talk back, knowing it was useless in his defense. But the speaker that was heard next caught his attention. "Would it hurt you to call him a he? Even as subjects, they're human too." The third voice may be muffled but it sounded several pitches higher than the last. A girl, perhaps? But what did he care? His main objective is to get out of this prison. No, it was worse than prison. Nico bit his lip as he curled his hands into fists.

"You may be new here but it doesn't give you an excuse to call the subject human. Didn't they tell you before you were sent here to work with us, Reyna?" the voice that replied was the same person with the low tone. He spat the word "human" like it itself is a plague.

As the people above him start to argue, he tuned them out. The raven-haired teen closed his eyes and thought of a way possible to escape. Oh, wait. He thought, mentally smacking himself on the head. Experimentally, he opened his eyes again to blast the leather straps that were strapping him to the gurney. Hot white pain surged up both his arms making him yelp in surprise. The people above him stopped talking when he yelped. "The straps were created by Aphrodite herself. A great woman she is. The straps will deter you of access to your abilities." A fourth voice explained. Nico groaned and let his head fall back on the gurney below him.

Closing his eyes once more, he concentrated on finding the nearest escape route. Unfortunately there were only two possible escape routes, both of which are far from him right now. He was already deep inside the building. The boy was getting desperate and considered breaking off the leather straps until his wrists are marred with blood. Then they started talking again, one particular sentence catching him off guard. "Speaking of Aphrodite, didn't she say she'll be waiting for us to bring the boy in?" The one Nico now figured out was named Reyna said.

"The subject in," another voice corrected. "She'll be waiting for us to bring Subject 26-X8 to her." The lower one grumbled. "Would you shut up Octavian?" Reyna hissed.

"I don't care what you call the subject. Just help me get him or... uh it to the main room for Aphrodite to see." The other voice said. Nico gulped. He was going to meet the infamous Aphrodite. Not that it excited him. He never imagined what Aphrodite looked like. Did she wear a gray business suit and her hair up in a bun? Or did she wear the same lab coat the other scientists were wearing and covered her whole face with a mask as well? Did she have a hard look in her eyes or a tender yet fake one?

The thought was set aside as the anger he harbored towards her throughout the time in his small cage began to boil inside him anew. Not only did he hate her for locking him up and taking him away from his family but the story told to him by his new friend made him see the wretched woman in the same yet darker light. The boy —Malcolm— didn't deserve to die when he escaped their crutches. In fact he didn't deserve to be locked up in the same cage at all! Nico understood his condition but Malcolm Chase was nothing but a smart kid. He was harmless yet they locked him up. The reason for their lockup was to keep them away from the humans.

But... aren't we human too? We just tend to be in a different level from them, Nico mused.

Thinking back to what Annabeth said, he recalled her saying that there were currently three of them separated in each building. There were others like him somewhere around there, alive but abused by their assigned tormentors.

"Forget him. He can be a real douche sometimes."

Nico blinked when the girl addressed her words to him. He didn't realize they were actually talking about him. He actually believed that they weren't allowed to talk to "subjects", as they would call them. So Reyna's words surprised him. "You don't talk to the subject, Reyna!" The low voice whom Nico was confirmed is a boy jeered. What was this guy's name? Octavian? "What kind of name is Octavian anyway?" He might as well make use of his time while he awaits his destination to meet the dreaded woman.

Reyna snickered and even if the masks covered their faces, Nico was sure that Octavian was glaring daggers at him right now. He snorted and faced away from him. The two other covered people were silent as they pulled him towards whatever room that awaited him.

He gritted his teeth and glared at the ceiling. He heard two doors open and suddenly he was being pulled into a different room. The lighting was dimmer and the air felt cold. "Welcome." A smooth and feminine voice purred. Nico tilted his head up to try and get a look at the lady but he was immediately held back by the person on his right.

"Ah, ah, ah. Careful now. And also, take those suits and masks off. It doesn't look good in my presence. Or anyone's at all." A woman's voice commanded. The sound of a chair wheeling across the floor sounded somewhere in front of him. The chair stopped then what followed was the click clack of heels against the floor. It made Nico shiver anxiously as the sounds became louder. Soon a shadow was cast on him as the mysterious woman loomed over him. Somewhere behind him, he heard a ruffle of clothes and figured the four people were off of their coats and masks.

"What do we have here?" the woman drawled. "Subject 26-X8. Nico di Angelo. User of telekinesis level... I would assume level above average now that my... men have reported that you have created creative ways of defending yourself." A perturbing grin stretched across her bright face. It might be that the only light source was dim and the shadows casting over her face made her look hollow.

The woman in general was a strange sight. The top of her head consisted of straight blonde hair. As it lengthens, the blonde color turns into a darker shade of brown and the strands began to curl, making it look frizzy. Her lips were cherry red as if she had recently applied lipstick. Nico wondered what this woman had to be doing in a place such as this. As if hearing the question by her own ears, the woman stood to her full height and placed her hands on her waist.

"My, haven't I introduced myself? Surely you must know who I am."

Her voice was soft but Nico could detect an underlying hint of bitterness. The boy shook his head and stared at the woman. She huffed and flicked a manicured fingernail at one of the coated people in the room. They scrambled to turn the lights on and when it did, Nico groaned at the sudden brightness. "I am Aphrodite, head of Level Two, the Medium." She feigned a curtsey and smiled wide as if an audience clapped for her. Nico stared wide-eyed at her. This was the woman who locked him up? This woman? He expected a less effeminate head of Level Two. And probably someone who looked more professional but he would never voice that out loud.

"Y-you..." His voice wavered.

"Yes me, the one who ordered Rachel to take care of you. Blah, blah, blah. Now, your escape had made the head of Andromeda furious." She turned around and stalked towards a desk filled with folders and papers. Besides that, there was a panel with a series of buttons and one lever. Nico stared at it intensely. "Head of Andromeda? Aren't you..." Nico asked. He furrowed his eyebrows when Aphrodite chuckled and shook her head slowly.

"I'm the head of Level Two. Gaea is the headmaster of the whole operation."

Nico internally sighed as Aphrodite explained what and who the three heads were. "There's Nemesis who takes charge of Level One, the Low. Poor girl almost have the same anger management issues as the girl she held up in there." She said. Nico thinned his lips and stared after the woman. "Then, of course, there's me. Then there's Gaea who takes care of Level Three, the High." Here, she paused and giggled to herself. It was loud enough to be heard from where Nico lay though. "Who knows what that little troublemaker does to Gaea." Picking up a file, Aphrodite walked back and showed Nico two photos. The girl on the right had black frizzy hair and a red jacket, her complexion not brighter than Aphrodite's. Her eyes were dark brown and her lips were set into a frown. The name written below said "Nemesis".

The photo on the left had dirty brown hair that fell into waves over her shoulders. Her eyes a forest green shade glaring at the camera with an evil smirk on her lips. She wore a green coat and below the picture was labeled "Gaea".

"Troublemaker?" Nico repeated. He looked at the people who brought him there. The other two bowed their heads. The one who he assumed was Reyna was crossing her arms—since he saw that she was the only girl looking up and straight into his eyes. Admittedly, she was even taller than Nico. She had dark brown hair that was tied into a long braid. She had tan complexion, unlike the boy beside her who he assumed was the douche Octavian. He was the one with his hands behind his back and his head raised high. He had short blonde hair and a thin pale figure.

"Why yes. Her subject is a little bit more on the wild side and therefore needs more..." she chuckled and seemed to be looking for the right word to use. "Help with the assigned scientist, Luke. Surprisingly, we have found out that Luke is somewhat fancying Thalia Grace." She rolled their names in her tongue. Grace. Where did he hear that before?

"So we electrocute her." Aphrodite added afterwards. Nico glared at her in horror and struggled in his grip. "You should be a lot calmer." Aphrodite muttered under her breath. "And gods damn it, where's Rachel when I need her!" she yelled. She pointed at one of the four behind Nico and gestured her forward. Reyna was hesitant but she followed. "Come here. I need you to inject him a minimal amount of this to let his consciousness slip. My nail polish isn't dry yet and grabbing the injection will ruin my work of art." Aphrodite pouted and led the girl to the desk. She pointed at a closed box. "Just open it. The drug is already placed so just insert it in him." She waved a hand casually.

Aphrodite turned around to carefully fix the files on the other side of her desk. Reyna stared hard at the box before looking at Nico. The boy was glaring at her, waiting for her to come close. Something passed over Reyna for a moment before it vanished. Nico couldn't tell what it was but when she clutched the injection, he no longer cared what he saw that vanished. He dug his nails into the leather straps as he ignored what they said and tried to use his telekinesis. "Tried" being the keyword as pain erupted in his arms.

Reyna stayed in her place and Nico stared at her questioningly. Then, everything came as a blur. The brunette leaned sideways and injected the needle in Aphrodite's arm. The woman screamed and pushed Reyna back. The other three people were shouting. Octavian was yelling about how stupid Reyna was and was scrambling towards the door. Nico was shocked when the girl headed for the panel. She pressed numbers at an incredible pace then pulled the lever downwards. Nico gasped when the straps released their hold on him.

"Get her and the subject!" Aphrodite screamed into a microphone not out of reach on the desk she put her weight onto. Her sugar coated voice turned vicious and hoarse when she announced danger. Her voice seemed to echo into different hallways until she faded into unconsciousness. Thinking quickly, Nico doubled over and flipped the gurney sideways. It was too late to escape through the exit now. The space beside him was occupied when Reyna bent down to hide herself. "What are we going to do? The guards will be here in any minute." She said. The younger boy looked at her for a moment before turning his attention to the door. The door burst open as the sound of heavy thudding boots filled the room.

"I'm unable to use telekinesis right now." Nico frowned. "But I can put up a wall to keep them away from us. But only for a small time." Reyna nodded and without thinking, she climbed over the gurney and sprinted full force towards what seemed to be a dark cabinet. The guards didn't hesitate to fire but Nico was faster. The moment Reyna climbed over and took the first step, he created a barrier that repelled their bullets to touch her. Whatever she intended to do at the moment, Nico went along with her. She may turn on him after all of this but he doesn't need to worry about that now. She's the only way of escape and he's willing to take this route.

"Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano. We order you to stand down!" The guard leading them yelled. The firing stopped for a second. The girl continued her sprint, ignoring them. "Very well then." They raised their weapons to aim it at her. The younger boy felt a prickling sensation at the back of his head. He groaned when the prickling sensation turned painful. He was horrified when the barrier he held up for Reyna dropped, leaving her defenseless.

"Reyna!" he screamed as best as he can before the guards started shooting. Nico watched as the girl turned over tables and other obstacles to block the bullets from hitting her before she got to her destination. Nico watched in awe and terror. His eyes glued on the figure who seemed to know what she was doing. How come they're not shooting me? He questioned himself. She pulled the heavy cabinet open and reached inside to pull out a bigger gun. Unfortunately, Nico couldn't identify what it was.

She ducked down and shot back at the guards. Bodies fell to the ground as they were shot. Reyna made her way back towards him whilst carrying the gun over her shoulders, shooting the final man down. "We need to hurry before more of them come." She said, shouldering the gun and holding out a hand for the boy to take. Nico helped himself up and was handed a gun. Together, they burst out of the room and into the corridors.

Nico was still recovering so it wouldn't do them any good if he sat back and rested. He ran through different hallways with Reyna in the lead. When they reach a closed door, Reyna would swipe a card before entering. She knows where she's going, Nico thought. But she probably knew the place better than him so he let her lead. "What made you change your mind?" Nico asked. They didn't stop running but quickened their pace when they heard an incoming horde of guards.

She was hesitant at first but she blew a breath and gripped her firearm tighter. "My mom used to be part of the Olympians before she resigned. The Olympians told her to stay but she didn't. Gaea captured her one night and I was waiting for her to get home. She never did." She was out of breath by the time they rounded another corridor. "Shit! Wrong way." She made a quick turn to her left but was greeted by three guards. "Heads up!" She shouted. Before the guards could bring their firearms up, she had already shot a bullet right through them.

"I applied for the job when I heard the Andromeda was searching for more workers. I hoped to be sent to Gaea's facility but I ended up here. It sort of blew up my plan but when I heard of your escape, I figured: I could team up with this guy. Of course, if you aren't against it. I need to let Gaea pay for what she has done to my mother and to other special families out there." Reyna gritted her teeth.

"Then we're on the same page." Nico mumbled. "We need to tear this building down if we don't want other more of us to be captured." He tossed the gun to Reyna and rubbed both his palms. Reyna eyed him carefully as she pocketed the firearm. "Are you ready for that yet?" She asked in concern but her face stayed stoic. Nico nodded and tried to get a grip on the walls. If they escaped faster, he could make the walls crumble down. "Oh, one more thing." Reyna added as they reached an elevator. They entered and hit the button for the ground floor. Reyna shot the camera that was hidden at the corner. They inhaled deep breaths of air and leaned on opposite walls.

"What is it?" Nico asked with his hands on his knees.

"I'm like you. Special." She said, straightening her posture once she regained her breath. Nico raised an eyebrow and looked at her in disbelief. "No way. If you were, Gaea or Aphrodite should've caught you by now." He cried. Reyna smirked lightly at that. "And that's where my ability comes in. I can conjure defense and offense."

"What?" Nico blinked.

"I can hide the signal we "special ones" have when it comes to them tracking us. And the gun I got from the closet? I made it up." She exhaled and closed her eyes.

"How?" Nico asked, trying to piece this all together.

"You see, if I think hard about a weapon, its uses and parts, it appears on my hand. Watch." She inhaled and brought a hand out. Nico looked at it with a disinterested expression when a blurry and small form came to his vision. His eyebrows shot up as the blurry figure turned clearer. It was a grenade.
