Psychokinetic Disaster

VII - FINAL

The Olympians were getting ready to pounce. The seven of them were talking in hushed voices. Hades would occasionally glance at Percy but say nothing. The brunette felt the shiver down his spine before it happened. The man's gaze was meant to make Percy uncomfortable. Maybe that was the purpose of him silently glaring at Percy—because he didn't look out for his son.

He sat on a lone couch and fiddled with his fingers. Jason was busy being interrogated by one of those seven Olympians therefore Percy had no one to talk to. Someone cleared their throat. Percy looked up and was surprised to see the man he had been looking at when he first came into the room. The man was definitely in his thirty's and he had green eyes as well. Percy gulped inwardly at the sight of a perturbing older version of him.

"May I sit with you?" The man asked, gesturing to the couch. Percy scooted to give the man space. "Go ahead." Percy's voice croaked. As the man sat, the teen kept his head lowered. The tension was recognizable. The man coughed awkwardly, grabbing Percy's attention. "So, Nico di Angelo," he started. "He's a friend." Percy shrugged, looking at his feet. "What's your name, boy?" the man asked curiously. Percy glanced up at him for a moment. "Percy Jackson."

The man's eyes widened as his back straightened. "P-Percy." He stuttered. "Yes?" the teen mumbled, looking at the man nervously. Unknown to them, the room had calmed and had been listening in on the ongoing conversation. "I'm Poseidon Jackson," the man said. Percy knew there was an odd resemblance between them and after hearing those words, he knew who he was at an instant. "Dad." He whispered. Arms wrapped around him as he was pulled into a bear hug. Truth be told, it had been long since he has seen his mother, traveling all the way here to stay with his friends. He heard news of her acquainting with this guy, Paul Blofis though.

Percy has never seen the guy but he hoped he wouldn't hurt her. Slowly, he wrapped his arms around his biological father and for the first time, felt hot tears prick his eyes. It was a silent cry as he relished the warmth of his father. When they pulled back, he saw that the old man had tears in his eyes too. They laughed and wiped them off.

"That was a nice reunion and all but I have a son who needs saving." Hades broke the silence, making them turn their heads to his direction. "Right." Poseidon sighed and stood. Percy stood up as well, ready to go. "Oh no, young man. You're staying here. We don't want to cause any more trouble than there already is. Plus, we don't want you involved in this mess." Jupiter intervened, stopping Percy. What? Percy fumed. "He's my friend! I have every right to worry about him and help him since I got him captured in the first place! If I were there, I could have prevented them from taking him." He defended.

But Jupiter was having none of this. The Olympians were already walking out and into the vehicle parked outside. Unexpectedly, his father clamped a hand on his shoulder. "Jupiter, or Zeus, is right. It's not that we think you're useless. We just don't want others to be involved in these kinds of situations. You're my son whom I just found out is still alive," Poseidon said. "Wow. Rude." Percy scoffed softly. "If Gaea was there and she did something horrible to you, I would never forgive myself." Poseidon sighed.

"You stopped caring when you left mom. What's there to worry about?" Percy dropped his gaze. Poseidon frowned and ruffled his hair. "Trust me, it wasn't my choice. I had to keep you safe and joining the Olympians was the only way. The Andromeda, which I believe you already know, is keeping track of us to ruin us. We had to move to different places and back to lose their signal." Poseidon said. "I'm sorry I was never there to see you grow up to the man you are now. But I'll make up for it, once everything is settled." Poseidon smiled warmly at the brunette.

Percy's chest lightened and he smiled back at his father although not as enthusiastically. "I'll see you when we get back. Jason, keep watch over Percy." Poseidon announced, waving at Jason. Percy sighed, watching the man call himself his father walk out of the door and into the vehicle that were supposed to take him to the DL2F Laboratories.

"Don't worry. They'll be back with your boyfriend before you know it."

Percy turned to look at Jason. He tilted his head in confusion but when the words finally registered, he stared at him wide-eyed. "What? Nico? No! He's… I'm... We're friends. Just friends." Percy mumbled the last sentence. The blonde raised an eyebrow at him in disbelief. He stared at the ground guiltily. "Jackson, that boy's got you on your knees ever since he was taken away from you. Do I need to see more to understand what you really feel for him?" Jason sat on the couch and stretched his arms.

Percy said nothing. It was about time he faced this weird tingling sensation in his stomach. He can't avoid it forever. Some things are meant to be dealt with before it's too late. Too late for what, exactly? Percy thought just as he sat down beside his friend, ready to vent.

...

"Cover, now!"

Nico had just enough time to do as he was asked. Right before the doors of the elevator opened, at hearing Reyna's command, he enveloped them with a shield. As Reyna ducked, she tore the pin away from the grenade and launched it at the expected crowd of guards outside waiting for them. The explosion was so loud it nearly broke their eardrums. Nico couldn't believe he was able to hold such an explosion against their shield. His concentration faltered thus breaking their shield. Smoke entered their vicinity and they started coughing.

"We need to find our way out." Reyna cleared her throat, looking around blindly at the smoke. "Isn't that what we've been trying to do since we got here?" Nico coughed. Reyna ignored his reply and grabbed his arm. They had to get moving soon. Whatever's connected to the other side of this building will definitely bring alarm. Reyna pushed herself and Nico out of the smoky area and out into a clearer corridor.

"There! Over there!" Shouted the incoming guards from the other side.

"Quick!" Reyna hissed. Reyna and Nico ran corridor from corridor. Reyna would occasionally bring out a firearm and gun down whoever tried to block their way. There was this one particular guy who stood in the center of the hallway they recently turned to. He was standing there with a coat similar to Professor Dare's. He had dirty blonde hair and a scar ran down his face. Nico was pulled back when Reyna hesitated to step forward.

"Reyna?" Nico questioned.

He sensed the tension in the air as the two stared down at each other. "It doesn't have to be this way, Reyna." The guy with blonde hair said. He attempted to reach a hand out but Reyna glared at it distrustfully. Nico realized the girl was gripping his wrist too hard from anger. He wriggled it but it didn't deter her attention.

"Get away from us, Luke. You have no part in this." Reyna glared at the guy –apparently called Luke– standing in front of them. Luke's face changed to hurt. But as quick as it appeared, it vanished and a new emotion took place. Anger. "I do. It's safe for them to stay here than let them roam free. Thalia could get hurt." He frowned. Reyna huffed and shifted in her position.

"You don't care about Thalia. You're being selfish by keeping her here, trapped, like a mouse." Reyna finally loosened her grip. Nico was relieved when she took her grip away from his wrist. It was cutting circulation.

Luke's face hardened as he surprisingly charged at them. Nico was ready to block him or something for defense but Reyna took care of that. As he neared, Reyna swung her arm back and punched him square in the face. He stumbled and managed to hold support against the wall. He spat a small amount of blood and sneered at the girl. "If this is how you want to play, fine." His voice lowered.

Albeit this time, Reyna wasn't quick to act as she was knocked back. Nico was ready to intervene when Reyna shouted, "This fight is between us. Go now while I'm taking him down!" She warned. Nico didn't want to leave her there. Not that he doubted the girl. She was very strong and smart in general.

"B-but..." Nico stuttered. After a quick decision of not wanting to anger Reyna further, he ran for his life. You can beat him, Reyna. I'll see you outside of this building. He thought as a motivation. At the moment, a certain green-eyed boy came to his mind, his name being called out from his lips as he escaped the laboratory. He needed to see the brunette so bad. He will escape. Like he did last time. But with Reyna.

Poseidon sighed for the third time that day. The vehicle spotted bumps that sometimes rattled their seats. Ares was driving as fast as he could to get to them. It must be hard for the man; getting to see his daughter taken away from him. Clarisse La Rue, subject for Level One, the Low; monitored by Nemesis and her assistant Ethan Nakamura. The man was sure he overheard Ares talking to Zeus about getting her daughter back when he got the chance. Poseidon doubted he won't be taking action when they got there.

He sighed, for the fourth time, at the stressful day. He finally got to meet his son but had to leave immediately due to a needed rescue. Poseidon sneaked a glance at Hades. The man was staring blankly outside as the scenery changed. From what Poseidon could tell, he was, no doubt, angry at Percy. But he didn't seem to blame the kid. He knew Nico di Angelo was a strong kid. He never had a chance to meet him but if he took after his father's physique and genes, he could handle himself.

He often worried about Hades di Angelo. He went through a lot what with losing both his children and his wife. He and Poseidon weren't close to friends but there was still something there. Poseidon lightly blushed, embarrassed when Hades turned his head and stared dead straight back at him.

"Is there a problem?" He asked calmly.

The man shook his head. Without missing a beat, Hades completely ignored him as he silently glared at the sky. Poseidon wished he and Hades had a better start. Maybe they could've been friends. Friends in situations like these? Tsk. Very unlikely. Poseidon frowned at the thought. He prayed to whoever god out there to help them in their journey.

He was startled out of his thoughts when the vehicle abruptly jerked to a stop. "A little warning next time would be great." A voice who belonged to no other than Hermes shouted. Artemis, the youngest girl, and only girl ever since Bellona, slapped him on the arm and shushed him. She had silver long hair and a pin clipped her bangs away from her face.

"We're here." Artemis whispered in awe and shock. "It's war we'll get when we enter." Apollo, Artemis' brother, stated. Unlike his sister, he had blonde locks that looked like it had been gelled back with a lot of hair gel. No one paid attention to what he said though.

"If I may, Jupiter?" Ares asked, turning in his seat to look at Jupiter. Or Zeus. Whichever works. They seemed to have a silent conversation through their eyes. Zeus nodded and Ares sprinted off. No one commented on what happened but they prepared to go into battle.

"Let the Andromeda and their labs fall into ruins and end the nightmare of our children." Hades announced for the first time he's been quiet. All the other Olympians, Zeus, Apollo, Artemis, Hermes, and Poseidon nodded in agreement.

...

Nico's feet was ready to give up but knew that if he decided to stop for even a second, all his effort for escaping would be wasted. He turned down hallways like he knew where he was going. But that was the problem. He didn't. He could run aimlessly around and end up back in Aphrodite's headquarters.

Every corridor looked exactly the same to him. What was strange though was that he hadn't run into guards ever since Reyna detached from him. It felt weird and Nico was getting nervous. This didn't feel right.

"Nico!" a familiar voice echoed through the hallway as he deliberately slowed down. A hand clamped on his shoulder and forced him to continue running. "Reyna!" Nico was ready to breathe a sigh of relief at seeing the girl. At a short period of time, the girl grew on him. She was one of those people Nico could bear to hang out with. She was pretty cool for a girl.

"Does something seem strange to you?" Reyna asked, looking around each corridor they pass by. Nico nodded. "The fact that guards aren't around or the fact that you found me easily?" Nico followed her through another hallway. She rolled her eyes and darted to the next corridor. Nico slipped but managed to get a grip before he fell and followed behind her.

"The first one. Where could they all be? They can't just leave like–"

The sound of firing cut her off. They stopped and tried to locate the source of the sound. Reyna was on the move before Nico could turn his head. "What was that?" Nico asked curiously. "No idea. But something tells me there'll be trouble." She shrugged and ran.

Upon getting there, they saw a live battlefield. Guards in white were firing at the other team who carried their own choice of weapons. Red stained the uniforms of the ones fallen on the ground. Nico didn't want to stay too long to get a stain of his own. "Nico!" he heard someone yell.

His eyes widened when he saw his father right there, gunning down a few other guards. "The Olympians." He heard Reyna mutter. Nico grabbed her arm and ran towards the defending group. One man in a suit spotted them and made a clearing for them. He had a beard and light blue eyes. An eerie resemblance to Percy's friend, Jason, Nico thought.

Just as they were nearing the group, a heavy body collided with them as they were knocked back. Nico shoved back from the intruder to find that it was no other than Luke. Nico's alarm went up when he saw what the blonde was holding. A sharp piece of glass from where, Nico doesn't know. Before he could utter a word, the glass shard held in Luke's hand had dug in deep into Reyna's stomach. The girl was shocked as she stared at the glass shard.

"I'm sorry, Rey." Luke whispered. Nico scrambled forward, ready to pull the shard out and stab Luke's eyes with it but he stopped when a particular bullet drove right through his forehead. Nico turned back to see it was another man from the same group. He had dirty blonde hair as well and a deep frown marred his features. Nico didn't waste time running towards Reyna even though from the distance, his father was calling him.

"Reyna, please, don't leave me!" Nico pleased, cradling Reyna's head. To his chagrin, she smiled and had enough strength to even punch him softly on the shoulder. "Go out there and escape this lab. You deserve the freedom along with the other special ones trapped," she said. Nico could feel tears running down. Her eyelids were slowly drifting close.

"Don't mourn for me. My pain finally ended and I have a new story to write. Just do me one favor. Make sure Gaea... is killed." It was the last thing she said before all form of life left her body. No, she can't die! Nico screamed in agony, unconsciously creating a wave of force that blew the guards back. He stared abhorrently at the glass shard that ended his friend's life and lifted it with the use of his telekinesis. In his wrath, he broke the shard into several pieces if possible and drove the pieces straight to each and every guard in the room. One by one, they fell on the floor. The glass shards impaled them from the front and left a mark as it passes through their backs. Nico then gathered the glass shards together in his hand. He concentrated with much power that when he released his hold on it, the shards exploded into tinier bits barely seen.

Unfortunately, the shards all but wounded his hand. Blood dripped to the floor as Nico slumped to the floor. Gaea will pay. She will repay with her life. She will pay for what she had done to every single teenager she had trapped in this hellhole called laboratory DL2F. It was at that moment, Nico finally understood what DL2F meant and it only fueled his anger further more. Dangerous Living Life Forms.

He'll show just how much dangerous they can be. He stood on shaking knees and glanced at the group making their way towards him. Hades got there first and brought his son in a hug. Nico was simply exhausted but knew he had one more task to do for his friend. "Let's kill Gaea." He muttered against his father's shoulder. Without saying a word, Hades nodded. A loud explosion startled all of them.

"Where was that from?" The guy with blonde hair looked around. The man with a beard sighed. "Must be Ares." He said, leading the group and Nico out where they have yet to find Gaea.

Nico felt like crawling on the ground to die or praise it once they were outside. He witnessed a murder and made a homicide himself. Turns out, the building was connected to two other buildings. He guessed it was the other buildings he's heard of. The Low and The High. The bearded man, Jupiter he introduced himself, led them into the building highest than the other two. The lights were already busted and a few other bodies can be spotted around the corners. Just as they walked into the hallway, they heard laughter. Nico furrowed his eyebrows.

"You can't beat me!" It was a woman's voice. It wasn't familiar to Nico. Jupiter and the others followed the source and opened the door with a bang. Inside, another man stood in front of two girls in their teenage years. One woman was tied up to a chair and she had a mad grin on her face.

"Oh, new arrivals!" She cheered, eying the Olympians and Nico. The man in front of her stepped closer and slapped her across the face. The slap echoed and made Nico cringe. "Shut up, Gaea!" The man shouted. This was Gaea? Nico stared at the woman in shock. He felt the sudden rage start to boil. "Why don't you shut up the way I got your daughter to shut up, hmm?" She smirked evilly at him. Nico couldn't take it. If the man wasn't going to kill her, he will.

"That's enough!" Someone else yelled. It was Jupiter. He stepped forward with a gun in hand. "We've had enough of your games, Gaea. The Andromeda will fall and we'll free the prisoners you've trapped here." He said, walking around her in circles. Her smirk formed to a snarl as she tried to writhe violently.

"Imbeciles! You think you can take down the Andromeda? You're wrong! There is more of us all around the world!" She screamed. Jupiter ignored her and held the gun out surprisingly to Nico. The raven-haired boy stared at it incredulously. "Well? Take it, boy. You deserve to kill her." Jupiter gestured a hand to the woman. She spotted Nico and her snarl formed back into a sickly sweet smile.

"Hello, dear subject." She smiled fakely. Nico could clearly see she wanted to rip him apart; just about the same way Nico would want to do to her. The boy still hesitated at looking at the firearm. He could never be the one behind it. His gaze faltered and Jupiter hid the gun back in its place on his belt.

"Still no guts after all that escaping you made? Hah! What a coward–"

Nico reached out his arm. It was as if an invisible force was there as Gaea's throat constricted. Her eyes widened when she felt the press around her throat. Nico was going to choke her to death with the use of his powers.

"You will pay for the lives lost," he stepped forward. "You will pay for imprisoning innocent people," his grip tightened, ready to snap Gaea's neck. She gasped wildly for breath. She was clawing at her neck but it was useless. "And you will pay for killing my friend." Nico gritted his teeth. He stared at her in the eye as he was ready to break her. But alas, he wasn't able to. His hold faltered and he sighed. Jupiter took that as his cue as he took the gun out again and this time, ended her with a bullet through the head.

...

On their way home, Nico eventually learned their names and the two girls who were released from the laboratory as well. Ares managed to release his daughter Clarisse La Rue and Jupiter's daughter, Thalia Grace.

"Dad," Thalia asked. Jupiter hummed and glanced at her.

"Have you seen Luke in the laboratory?" She asked worriedly. The other Olympians tensed and so did Nico. "He... uhmm.." Apollo stammered. "He's dead." Nico deadpanned. He was aware of the tense silence that followed. "He's what?!" Thalia exploded. Well, she did deserve the truth. Nico took one glance at Hermes and received a nod. "He killed my friend. So they killed him." He said. Thalia was silent.

"Reyna?"

Nico's shoulder hunched at hearing her name. "Y'know her?" He asked. Thalia rubbed her arms and shrugged. "I've heard of Luke talk about his friend, Reyna. But I've never seen her." She mumbled. The whole ride was silent.

The Olympians went to their own homes and Clarisse with Ares. As they arrived in Jupiter's home, Nico was enveloped in a big hug. He recognized the smell of the sea and the warmth that once enveloped him in an instant. "Percy," he sighed. He was too tired to hug back. It was then he remembered the wounds that was littered his hand when Percy grabbed it and inspected it. Jason was already in the room with the first aid kit. Nico watched as Percy treated his hand and bandaged it. Jason and Thalia were in the other room, talking to their father.

Nico blushed when Percy held his bandaged hand close to his mouth. "I was so afraid. I thought something happened to you. Is it over? Did they kill Gaea?" Percy asked, softly massaging Nico's hand. Nico avoided eye contact and nodded. "It's over. For now, I guess." He muttered.

Percy ignored the last sentence and went to sit beside him on the couch. "Nico, I'm sorry for leaving you in the park. You wouldn't have been captured if it weren't for me." Percy apologized. Nico scooted closer and nudged his shoulder with his. "Hey, don't apologize," he lightly smiled. "If it weren't for you, we won't be able to find Clarisse and Thalia. We won't even be able to kill Gaea." Nico reassured him.

He promised himself he wouldn't get lost in Percy's eyes again but that obviously failed as he glanced at him. His breath was caught in his throat as he noticed how close they were. Without hesitating, Percy closed the distance and held Nico against his body.

It all felt right as Nico responded, threading his fingers through Percy's hair. Percy kissed his bottom lip and licked it. Nico kissed as passionately and moaned lightly. When they retracted, they were both blushing down to their necks. "I-I like you, Percy." Nico confessed, snuggling closer to the green-eyed boy. Said boy wrapped his arms around Nico and kissed the top of his head.

"I've fallen for you too, Di Angelo." He whispered into his ear.
