I have exams DX

I'M SO SORRY I HAVEN'T UPDATED IN A WHILE! *hugs* But I had other things to do and exams to take, so I'm very sorry, but I'll make you a deal. As soon as I get 80 reviews, (there are enough people following for that number) I will UPDATE the next chapter. Okay? Yes? It's a deal. ^_^ So, here you are, the next chapter of 'The Peacekeeper'

-Navi-

Oh, that was close, so close, she nearly got me! Ah! That'd be awful! Mmm… I don't like being a spirit. It's not very fun. And I'm only a wizard! I'm nothing special. I wonder how Lucy's doing? I hope she's okay the poor thing! I couldn't even help her, all her power's drained. Sad face. I'll see her later. Maybe. Or I could ask Loke to help her out. Yes. I'll do that. Great. It's settled. Mmm… Though that Shari girl might figure it out. I'll have to fix that. I can't have her revealing secrets that aren't hers to tell. So, ask Loke to look after Lucy and I'll get Aquarius and Taurus to take out that Shari girl. Good, good. Then things should go according to plan. Mostly.

-Lucy-

Ow, so much pain. The back of my head is throbbing and my cheek stings. I can't breathe, there's a heavy weight on my chest and my back feels broken. I can't open my eyes either. I'm awake though. I'm lying on something soft. Wait, my? I? Who am I?

"Lucy?"

Who's talking? A girl? Lucy? Who's Lucy? A hand gently strokes my hair and another pair of even smaller hands prod under my ribs.

"Wake up Lu-chan, it's me. Levy. Everyone's worried about you."

Levy? Who's Levy? And again with Lucy. This Lucy girl must be popular if everyone is worried about her. Wait. Lu-cy. Lucy. That's me. I'm Lucy! I'm Lucy Heartfillia!

My eyes open of their own accord and I sit up quickly. Way to quickly. My body screams in protest and a groan slips from between my teeth.

"Be careful Lucy!" Two girls, both with blue hair grab me on either side. Who are they? They seem to know me. But I don't think I've ever seen them before. Have I?

"Who are you?" I ask.

They exchange worried glances.

"Don't you remember us Lu-chan? Levy. And Wendy."

I shake my head before my body decides that it probably isn't the best thing to do in m current state.

"Lie down Lucy-chan. Before you get worse."

With their assistance, I lay back down on the bed, my whole body aching and my mind churning. I feel like I've forgotten something important. What? I can't remember…

A man wearing a bandana over his head barges into the room. His eyes scan my body and after a moment, soften and fill with tears.

"Natsu-nii, wait."

He looks at the younger of the two girls, the one who had spoken. She opens her mouth, presumably to explain my predicament. But no sound comes out. Natsu… At the back of my mind something flickers, like a candle trying to light up a pitch black tunnel. A memory was fighting against a greater force, I wanted to remember this man. Natsu… Natsu… Natsu, Dragneel. Natsu Dragneel. I remember you. Levy, Levy McGarden. Wendy Marvel, Laxus Dreyer, Gajeel Redfox, Sting Eucliffe, Rogue Cheney and Cobra. I remember you. I wince as my leg twitches, sending shots of pain up my leg.

Natsu walks over to my bed slowly, as though he's afraid if he walks to quickly I'll disappear. Levy makes a motion with her hand and her and Wendy make their way out of the room. His eyes lock onto my face, a tentative smile graces my lips and he stops in his tracks.

"Natsu?" My voice is quiet, I feel as though any sudden movements would cause his to bolt. But no. He rushes to my side and throws himself over me, clutching me to him.

"Hey…" I say shakily. He looks at me and I start, tears are cascading down his cheeks and his grip tightens. I stroke his cheek. "It's okay Natsu, I'm fine." He lets go and looks at me with sad eyes. He takes my wrist in his hand and a feeling of dread seeps through my veins.

"Natsu…" He opens his mouth, revealing a set of sharp, pearly white teeth. He swipes his teeth across my arm, making a four inch gash. Strangely there is no pain.

"Natsu!" I cry, tears prick my eyes and tumble down my cheeks. Then he surprises me and does the same to his arm. "Stop." The request is nothing more than a hushed whisper. What is he doing? His arm presses against mine and I feel blood dripping down my arm. Whether it's mine or his I don't know. It falls onto the sheets, staining them red. Something sears my arm like fire, it licks down my arm to my fingertips and I squirm, positive it's Natsu's blood in my body. "Stop. Natsu." I can't speak louder than a whisper. My feeble attempt to get him to release me are worthless. There's nothing I can do. He pulls himself up onto the bed, hovering over me, restraining me. The fire crawls across my shoulders and I scream. Or I would have if Natsu hadn't placed his lips to mine. Instead, my scream comes out as a muffled groan. He moves his lips gently and nips my bottom lip. Natsu. The fire moves to my chest and I wince.

Forget. A voice in my head whispers to me. Forget what?

Natsu's hand creeps up to cup my face. His hands are bigger than my cheeks so his fingers tangle in my hair. Any and every though vanishes and I can only think of the man hovering over me. He drags my lip down, opening my mouth, taking advantage of the situation, (as if he wasn't doing that already) he dips his tongue in my mouth. Natsu's abnormal heat always made winter so much more bearable, and it made kissing a whole new thing. Sting had been rough and demanding. Natsu was sweet with his kiss, and sexy. Lots of sexy. One of his hands lay across my stomach and the other stroked my hair softly. I raise a hand and trace his muscles under his open shirt. The corner of his mouth twists up slightly and he shifts so I'm sitting rather than lying and I have better access to his torso. He flexes under my touch. He pulls away too soon and just looks at me, not saying a word. I flush furiously. Then I notice the fire is gone. I look at my arm and see that the cut was fading to a light pink. In a few seconds there wasn't even a scar. I look back at Natsu who's grinning slightly. Why doesn't he speak? Surely he'd had said something by now right?

I can't.

Natsu's voice rings in my ears, but his lips haven't moved.

I can't speak. After the lake incident I lost my voice. And you. I was so worried Luce. I thought you were gone. Just like Igneel.

"Natsu, I'm so sorry."
What happened to you? Where did you go? You were covered in cuts, you had a collapsed lung and broken bones all over the place. Half of the flesh on your back was hanging on only by a few inches of skin. I though you were dead.

"Why can I hear you?"

He waves his arm. Ancient Dragon Magic. You can talk to me like this too. Even Cobra wouldn't be able to hear us.

"But I learned telepathy before. Why can't I hear the others?"

He looks down.

"Natsu?"

No answer.

"Natsu?"

I can't use magic either. And I don't think you will be able to either. Levy looked at the water, it has magical properties. It takes away the things you value most about yourself.

"What?"

He unties his bandana. I stare in horror.

So for me, it was my voice, my magic and… Yeah.

His hair is white.

-Shari-

"Mother?"

She's pacing again. She only paces when she thinks about Lucy.

"The boy only landed in the water, so three things so him. Voice, hair and magic. Only the last thing is valuable to us. And four things that girl values most about herself. The lost of her magic and her self-worth as a human is unquestionable. But what else?"

I finger the golden locks in my pocket nervously. How was I to know? I needed a day off so I could keep tabs on Lucy. I wanted to keep her safe. She was only a girl. But that key… I grab my hand where the symbol of the key was branded into my palm.

"You are dismissed eighth."

"Thank you mother."

I bow and turn to leave.

"Eighth!"

I stop and turn back to her. Her eyes glow blue a sign I'm in trouble.

"If I happen to discover a certain girl's blonde hair in your pocket, there will be severe consequences if it is not there to assist me. Do you understand?"

"Yes, mother."

"Good. Then we have no issue, do we?"
"No, ma'am."

"Good. Send the first in on your way out."

I bow low, my nose almost brushing the floor and scurry out.

Shit that woman's scary.
