Order of Business: Teasing
What I do when I'm in class...
I was beginning to think someone wants to curse my life.
By the time I opened my eyes, my mom was already yelling at me. I had rolled out of bed that morning, and I fell face-flat to the floor.
At least I take showers quickly.
"Fuusuke! Get down here!" my mom yelled.
"Coming!" I replied.
I quickly got dress in my uniform and turned to the mirror to brush my hair. The clock inside my room read: 7:15. I suppose it was still a little early for a person whose school starts at 8:00 am.
Regardless, I care about punctuality.
My waist long hair soon turned straight. I watched as my hands did some side bangs for my hair. On the top of my hair was two handful hair strands sticking up. I gladly made them like that, thinking that it would help me move on.
"FUUSUKE!" Mom continued to yell.
I grabbed my white backpack (with the yellow lightning and all, mind you, pretty much lightning was the main thing for the Inazuma Town) and raced downstairs.
On the way, I missed a step, causing me to fall...
I waited for the THUMP I usually hear.
The funniest thing was; I didn't feel anything. Just some strong warm hands wrapped around me, if that made any difference. The thing was... it did. I had looked up and saw someone I did not expect to see.
The same person I spent thinking about all night.
"You haven't started to fall for me, have you, Ice Princess?" Nagumo teased and smirked at me.
I blushed lightly and stood up. I pushed him and walked calmly to the table.
"Better start chewing, it's almost eight..." Nagumo told me.
"For your information, it's 7:15 the last time I checked." I retorted and then looked at my mom from across the table. "What is he doing here?"
Mom smiled at us (totally what I wasn't expecting) and replied,"He told me you two are supposed to be going to school together."
I chewed on my bacon angrily.
"Jeez! I just went to your house!" Nagumo cried.
I glared at him and stated, "I don't appreciate that, Nagumo."
Clearly, I am making a point that boys inside a girl's house (who you only met, if I may add) is completely wrong.
He pouted at me.
I stopped and stared at him. Cute!
Nagumo raised his eyebrow. "What? Something in my face?" he asked.
I looked away and continued walking. I replied plainly, "No reason. Your face is just plain funny."
"Whatever." Nagumo grumbled.
Nagumo continued to follow me. No sound, no noise, no talking... just plain silence...
And I was tempted to break the ice (get it?).
Wait... what?
"So, are you gonna join the soccer club?" Nagumo asked me.
"Huh?" I replied, clearly processing the question, and I glanced at him, but didn't fully turn around.
He huffed, and then put his hands over his head, tilting it in the process. He wore the Inazuma High boy's uniform:
Black pants, a white long-sleeved dress shirt (with the lightning thing on the breast pocket) and black leather shoes. Well, supposed to be leather shoes as so my brother said…
Nagumo wore white sneakers. His white man-shoulder bag (also with that lightning thing in front of it) hanged to his shoulder in a disorderly matter. He wore a thin red jacket, which obviously suits his crimson hair.
"You know, you have great skills... won't you join?" Nagumo asked me.
I stayed silent after that.
"Fuusuke?" Nagumo called on me.
I stopped and turned my heel to face him head on. "What?" I gritted through my teeth.
Now, he looked surprised. His face read: Why the hell did you turn around? I, being the sensible one, knew that that wasn't what he was thinking.
First, he visits my house without telling me. Now, he calls me by my first name?
"Er... never mind, just wait for me, will you? You're a fast walker." he told me.
I rolled my eyes, as he trudged next to me. I said to him, "Be faster next time, then."
Together, we walked to school side by side.
"Haruya-kun!" a girl, another freshman I suppose, blocked our way to my classroom.
"Uh, hi...?" Nagumo said/asked. It was obvious he was uncomfortable with her around.
"I brought you chocolates! For the second day in school!" she said loudly and matched it with a brightly-lit smile.
"E-er..." Nagumo stammered, clearly uncomfortable.
I wish I had that affect on him.
NO, I don't. That was me: joking. HA! HA! HA! Laugh with me. Okay, this is getting kind of awkward. I should stop now.
Suddenly, someone put their hand on the girl's shoulder. The girl shrieked loudly, clearly surprised. Well, we were, too.
"Sorry! Ali, right?" someone asked her.
"A-ah!" the girl stuttered and was blushing very furiously.
"Could you leave us be? Thanks!" that someone requested and smiled at her.
"S-sure!" Ali squeaked and quickly left.
"Hey, Fuusuke-san!"
I looked back at the person who cut off the conversation…
"Hey yourself, Kiyama." I said, once I realized who that was.
"Kiyama? Fuusuke-san? Are you two dating?" Nagumo asked us.
I punched him on the shoulder, lightly. I seethed, "In your dreams."
"Ow." Nagumo cried out and held his shoulder, tenderly (or dramatically, you know).
"Haruya... aren't you in class 1-B?" Kiyama asked Nagumo.
"Yeah." he grunted.
"I heard your name being yelled in our classroom yesterday," I pointed out.
He smiled meekly at me and said simply, "I went in your room yesterday. Fubuki Shirou goes there."
"Fubuki?" I questioned.
"You don't know him? You must be goofing off yesterday!" Nagumo teased as he laughed.
I blushed and replied, "Sure, tease the harmless girl."
"Harmless?" Nagumo asked sarcastically.
I rolled my eyes and excused myself, "I should probably get going."
"Uh... I didn't mean to interrupt, but can we talk for a moment, Haruya?" Kiyama asked. He was rather late for the apology: the girl, Ali, was already gone… for a rather long time.
"Sure." Nagumo said to him.
"I'll see you guys, I think," I said.
Nagumo smirked and replied, "Of course, you will. See you, Fuusuke-san!"
I glared at him as he and Kiyama walked away. I entered the clasroom.
"Hey, Gazel-san!" Aki greeted me.
"Ohayo, Aki!" I greeted back, as I stalked off to my chair.
"Gazelle-san! Ano... why are you red?" Fuyuka asked me.
I perked up instantly and asked, "Excuse me?"
"Um... you're red- ?!" Fuyuka faltered. I knew why: I was busy looking for my mirror in my bag; it kind of interrupted her from making a sentence. When I found it, I quickly looked at my face. Indeed, I was red.
"Shit." I muttered. I pressed my hands to my face. My hands were cold, I love the cold and I would also love to take the blush I have away.
"Anyway, are you going to join the soccer club?" Aki asked me.
I looked up to them and said simply, "Sure, but as a manager only."
Fuyuka's face brightened as she beamed, "Great!"
I smiled at them.
RING!
"Come with us at lunch; we're eating at the soccer club room," Fuyuka told me.
"Sure," I said.
"Settle down, class!" the math teacher called. It was kind of stereotypical for me to think that our teacher would be a male. But she wasn't…
Her name is Ibuka Hoshi; she was a woman with orange hair tied into a bun, green strict eyes and a strict personality. She was funny, but she was mostly strict.
"Turn on to page 142 in your Math textbook... we're doing a new lesson today." she said.
I did turn to the said page, but I was busy writing scribbles on a scrap paper.
