a/n: It's me again. Let's see where I'm at.

"I think that someone is trying to kill me...

Infecting my blood and destroying my mind.

No man of the flesh could ever stop me..."

The blood ran down, bleached white and stark against the walls of the long corridor.

Amy Rose ran with her bandaged arm, painted toenails glimmering in the dim light. Hot pink with a dash of glitter.

The grungy carpet gave a spring to her step as music blared through her earbuds. The unsettling feeling in her stomach was gone.

The blood traveled in long and slow arcs with her swings as she carved into flesh. She swung with ease, her muscles relaxed until she forced them taut to slice through leathery flesh and bone.

She hadn't noticed the change at first, but she could feel it.

Red eyes.

A lust for carnage.

The music pulsed through her as she ran forward, stabbing one of the undead in the middle of the chest and driving ahead recklessly. Arms groped at her as she accelerated, faster and faster. Her breaths went ragged as she bared her teeth, bloody red eyes shaking with madness. She wheezed and pumped her legs. Faster. Faster.

Faster.

Faster.

The sonic boom sounded and she exited the eternal corridor by force, slamming the corpse through the wall and pummeling it into mush. She found herself in the sky above Station Square.

Station Square.

She glanced below her feet with those crazed red eyes.

Flame.

Flood.

Corpses.

Chaos.

Her mind cleared.

Her momentum slowed.

An arc downward.

Hadn't she survived bigger falls? She didn't know.

She trembled.

Then she became still.

Then she became determined.

She kicked away the corpse from her knife and let herself fall. She stretched out her body, lean and fit, before throwing it into a vertical spin. The ball that was Amy Rose screeched against the side of a building and slid down, kicking up debris. It rolled over an abandoned car and onto the street before coming to a stop. The ball uncurled and left Amy on her back, alone in the middle of the road. Her chest heaved up and down as she looked to the sky, feeling the gloom coming down from it. The day was too bright, somehow. She felt her mind compensating, adjusting everything around her. So bright, but it felt like darkness had descended.

She realized that she had kicked the bathroom door down after her bath. Did she have everything?

She checked with a slow, awkward shimmy against the pavement. Yes.

What was that streak of bloodlust?

She didn't understand. Or maybe she did. The lust had calmed her arm down.

She knew because the pain acutely dulled as soon as she sliced one of the undead in half.

"...?"

She wondered if she was a monster.

"...y..."

She wondered...she wondered.

What was that sound?

"Amy."

She looked up and saw something hovering over her. Two somethings. A robot with piercing eyes. And a well-furnished bosom.

She knew both of those objects anywhere.

"Omega...Rouge."

The white bat had disheveled fur and a malfunctioning blouse. A lacy black bra exposing her firm flesh. The robot looked as fine as ever.

"We were about to head your way, but Omega needed an ammo stop."

"Affirmative."

"Probably for the best anyways," she said with a shrug, her bosom seeming to heave in Amy's vision. "You okay, hon?"

"...a zombie bit me, Rouge. My blood is boiling. It makes me want to kill. I want to kill...I can't stop it," Amy said quietly.

Rouge helped her to her feet. She could see ahead of them that there were more undead lurching their way. Omega's compartments clicked into position. Rouge placed her hands on Amy's shoulders and licked her lips. Her fingers pressed themselves gently into the younger girl's flesh.

"We need to get across town. Sonic's over on the other side."

Amy tensed.

"Let's go on, Amy. Let it happen," she whispered. "Can you feel it?"

"Yes..."

"Indulge yourself, Rosie."

Rouge gently pushed Amy forward, watching as she brandished the Ginsu knife with her bandaged hand. She broke into a sprint and the two members of Team Dark followed closely.

"Will she be okay?" Omega asked as he transformed his arms.

"Yeah, as long as we're around," Rouge said confidently. "Follow her lead, aim for the heads."

She drew her pistol and surged ahead.

The blood started to arc around Amy's head again in ribbons.

The world was suddenly cold and dark.

"Amy."

She heard a voice over the din. Distant gunshots sounded out.

"You know where you're going, don't you? Remember your path."

That was right. The blood would guide her.

The sun was heating the city streets.

"What remorseless emperor commands me..."

The blood ran down again. Carving into flesh.

"I no longer govern my soul."

The blood red eyes changed to green.

"I am completely immersed in darkness..."

White blood across her cheek.

Her heart pumped faster...and as her face flushed with colour, she smiled.

"As I turn my body away from the sun."
