Before Absolute Zero
4. Hesitation is a Weakness She Cannot Afford

Weakness was something she could not afford to feel.
Already she'd failed, she'd lost, she'd paid far too much
yet it would never repair, never really heal
and the clots were flimsy, dislodging with a touch.
Hesitation had almost cost too great a deal.
Next time it might break. Pieces too many to clutch…
So she could only become stronger, to defend.
To avoid new mistakes, and for the old, amend.
