Hey guys long time no see. Sorry about that, but at the end of the year everything just gets a little crazy. Anyways I made it, I survived chemistry, and also its summer vacation! You all know what that means right? Yep that means time to actually write! I see a lot of you guys liked the last chapter, the date then Skulker. I'm not going to give up to much, however I can say things will start heating up. I sorry for not updating let's just blame it on writers block. As always I hope you guys review, and also I own nothing.
(Skulker's POV)
I sat perched in a tree peering through my binoculars, watching my new prey. A fine specimen, one worthy enough to adorn my wall. And no I am not speaking of the annoying brat of a halfa, rather something worth so much more, something so rare that even to the ghost zone they are nothing more than a fairy tale. I found her when I was watching the halfa. My new prey will, without a doubt, put me back on top. My new prey is a mermaid!
(Sam's POV)
I sat in my desk pretending to pay attention while drawling in my notebook. My mind kept drifting back to the date I had with Danny last Friday. The food, the cave, finally being able to swim after so long; it was more than I could ask for. Let me be the first to tell you, sitting in a bath tub comes nowhere close to swimming in an underground spring. The feeling of the water sliding over me as I glided through the water; stretching my fins, oh yea and Danny was there too.
I sighed and turned my attention to the window that was facing a big beautiful tree. That's something that I love on the surface, the nature; the trees that stretch high into the sky, high mighty mountains jutting into the atmosphere that I can just see in the distance. Sure in the sea we have coral reefs, and kelp forest, but still the feel of wind blowing against your skin is something that I think every merperson should experience. However they are all too afraid of being discovered.
Scanning the tree my eyes locked onto something that didn't belong. I focused my eyes on that one spot squinting trying to have a better look. To me, in one area, it almost looked as if the air was vibrating. It looked very similar to when Danny went invisible.' That's strange' I thought to myself, 'is something there?'
"Miss Manson" I faintly heard still to focused on the mystery spot.
"Miss Manson" I heard again what is that it's so annoying.
Finally I heard a voice bellow "SAMANTHA!" now that got my attention.
I snapped my attention towards the slightly overweight teacher that had a slightly annoyed look on his face. The faint sound of laughter filled my ears.
"Yes?" I sleeplessly said
"I know to most people Moby Dick isn't the most important thing in the world, but please at least fret attention like the rest in the class." Mr. Lancer said
"Yes sir" I sighed sinking down into my desk.
My eyes snuck a glace back at the tree only to find the spot gone.
(Time skip lunch)
"Hey guys" I greeted as I set my salad down.
I took my usual spot next to Danny.
"Hey Sam" Tucker said
"Yea?" I responded
"What happened in Lancer's class today, you are usually really good at paying attention" He said
"Yea Sam what happened?" Danny questioned
"It's nothing I just thought I saw something that's all" I declared
"Oh ok, we were just worried that's all" Tucker said
"No need to worry ok?" I said
A course of 'Yeas' and 'oks' followed; satisfied I turned my attention to my lunch of greens while the boys started talking about something called Assassin's Creed. I allowed my eyes to drift through the lunch room just observing everyone mentally comparing this to what it's like underwater, surprisingly it's very much the same. Except I'm sitting with them instead of in a special room that overlooks the cafeteria made just for royalty, blah, blah, and oh yea we are not underwater.
As I scanned the room my eyes again locked onto an area of vibrating air. No one else seemed to notice this except for me. The longer that I stared at it the more it looked like a certain ghost boy who is sitting right next to me.
"Hey Danny" I said not taking my eyes off the spot.
"Yea Sam?" He responded
"How far does your ghost sense reach?" I questioned
He thought for a moment before saying "About half a mile, why?"
"No reason just wondering" I lied
He shot me a pointed look before turning his attention back to Tucker. 'So it isn't a ghost' I thought, 'then maybe my mind is just playing tricks on me' I shook my head and bowed my head to finish my lunch.
(Skulker's POV)
I smirked to myself as I flew away from the lunch room. My prey know it's being watched, but it can't do anything about it. I turned visible again and looked at the large ring that adorned a chain which was wrapped around my neck.
"So this thing really does work" I said to myself
"And to think that fool Dora wasn't guarding it" I said
Chuckling I put my binoculars up to my eyes so I could see into the building. I locked onto the black masses of hair bobbling slightly in sync as they walked down the hall. The ghost boy's arm wrapped around my prey.
"Be prepared ghost boy, to lose something very close to you, but just not yet I like to play with my target before I tighten the noose" I said.
(Time skip end of the day)
Ugh thank the Gods, Spirits, and who ever invented the dismissal bell. I walked out of the building to the warm sun that touched my snow white skin, I guess it doesn't really get cold here because it's already half way through October.
"Hey Sam" I heard, I turned my head to see Danny and Tucker approaching me.
Danny stop right next to me, wrapped his arm around my waist, and placed a kiss on top of my head.
"Gross" I heard Tucker 'gag', "could you guys be more lovey dovey?"
Just then I saw that all too familiar glint in Danny's blue orbs. Before I could say anything Danny pulled me against his chest his other hand behind my head. He placed a, for lack of a better word, possessive kiss on my lips.
"Really you do know I was kidding, right?" I heard
Danny pulled away slightly laughing; I, of course, punched him in the shoulder for that. Even though I kind of liked it.
"So Sam, Tuck and I are going to the Nasty Burger you want to come?" Danny asked
"I would love to, but I can't I got a lot of homework to do and a project that I have been severely procrastinating on. So I will have to leave you guys to your bromance."
"Darn" Danny said, "Well I guess we will see you tomorrow then"
"Yea" I quickly kissed Danny on the check before turning around and starting my trek to my apartment.
"Bye guys" I called over my shoulder and took off.
Once I left the school property I dug my iPod, that I recently bought Tucker has been trying and failing to teach me how to use it I just know how to play music as of now, and switched it on. I choose Bloody Mary by New Years Day and turned up the volume to block out the world.
Half way to my home I got a strange feeling, almost as if someone was watching me. I took one ear bud out and quickly turned around ready for a fight. But I was only meet with an empty sidewalk. Sighing to myself I put my ear buds back in and wrote it off as mere paranoia.
Approaching the building I climb the necessary steps and entered the cool lobby. Jamming the button I waited for the elevator to reach the first level. I mentally went through a check list of everything I had to do tonight. My train of thought was broken when the tall tail 'ding' of the elevator sounded. I entered the room and entered my passcode for my floor. When the code was entered the elevator 'dinged' again and the doors slide shut. I peered through the glass to watch the outside world get smaller and smaller.
After a couple of minutes the elevator slowed singling that we were approaching my floor. I approached the door a waited for the doors to slide open. The room 'dinged' one last time as the doors slide open revealing my home. I walked through the doors and put my bag on the floor. Almost immediately I noticed something was wrong. It was freezing in my apartment, so much so that I could see my breath when I breathed out.
I wrapped my arms around myself as I went to check the thermostat. I stopped in front of the device to see that it was the same as I left it this morning, off. I knitted my eyebrows in confusion, 'why would it be so cold in here?' I thought.
Just then an icy cold breath slithered down my spine; leaving a wake of shivers in its path and not the good kind. I could feel an arm wrap its self around my waste, as a deep dark voice whispered into my ear.
"I have you now my prey"
