Amaya POV-
Ky stumbles out of the pile of broken tree branches where he was just laying in. I could see a bit of blood poor from the left corner of his mouth. He looked betted not just physically but mentally too. What or who was making him do this, why does he keep say he has to kill me?
Shinju charges at him, she jumps into the air doing a front flip and aimed her long tail to hit him like a sword. Ky pulled out an other kunai and blocked the sword like attack. Shinju jumped down before pushing forward to bites Ky's right leg.
Kio still in her wind wolf from throws her pole at Ky. We didn't want to kill him but maybe capture him. All three of us felt this way. The pole misses by a couple of inches but scraps across his ninja head band that is on his right shoulder. He grabs the pole with his hand and hit's Shinju right in the face sending her across the ground a couple of feet from where she was.
I run in, Ky regains ground and blocks my every move. We were evenly matched. The only thing I could hear was the sound of my heart beating and the sound of are blades meeting causing sparks to fly. Are eyes locked on each others both looking lost.
Kio was by Shinju making sure she was alright. Kio pulls Shinju under a tree so her body was out-of-the-way. Kio was no longer crying but she was still upset.
"Ky stops this what ever it is it's not too late to turn back." I said trying to talk him out of this, trying to save him.
"I'm sorry." Ky says blocking both my blade then pushed up making my arm go up and I stumble back. He takes Kio's blade and throws it directly at me. 'At this range it will go right through me.' I think back to when Fumio jumps in front of me when the nine-tails attacked the village. I still don't want to die…
Flash Back
"All right students today you will be assigned teams." The teacher says as Kio walks in late as always. I turn in my sit to see her all smiley and sit by me as the teacher scolds her.
"Anyways class, I'll call your names based on what team you got." The teacher speaks picking up and piece of paper with are names on it, "Team one…" the teacher starts to list off names but I space out waiting to hear my name. I look besides me seeing a boy looking really nervous, I later found out that I would be on his team and he would be like a brother to me.
"Team Fumio Inuzuka and Shinju are Ky Fuji, Kio Suzuki, and Amaya Tanaka." The teacher looks up to see we were all sitting in a row, "You'll meet your sensei on the roof." I smile happy to get the same team as my best friend.
"Awesome!" Kio yells standing up after the teacher finished with the list and the other new genin were walking towards their new team mates or where their sensei would be.
We both got up before Kio turned around, "Oi! Little boy let's go." Kio says pointing at Ky Fuji who quickly turned and looked at her. His face is red and he grabbed his bag.
"Finally." Kio says waiting for the kid to come over to them.
"Y-you waited for me?" Ky said almost like a question.
"Of course we did, we are team mates after all." Kio smiled, "And that means we're not allowed to leave each other now, got it?" She says poking his chest and he takes a step back.
I smile as the boy says, "G-got it." He smiles he face still red and Kio takes off running to the roof.
"Good let's go!" She yells running down the hallway and we chase after her.
On the roof top
We sat on the roof in front of are sensei, "Alright I'm Fumio and this is Shinju." Are sensei said pointing at the dog who was sleeping by his feet, "Now tell me your names and something about yourself." He said smiling.
It reminded me of the first day of school, "My name is Amaya Tanaka and I'm…" I pause trying to think of what I should say.
"She's gonna be an assassin for the Tanaka family!" Kio answers for me patting me on the back, "Right buddy?" she asks.
"Ya." I said smiling.
"Welcome little Tanaka." Fumio smiles and turns to Kio.
"I'm Kio Suzuki and I'm gonna be the strongest ninja in the world." Kio says giving the sensei a thumbs up.
"I like your spirit kid." Fumio says giving her thumbs up to.
I laugh than Ky starts to talk, "I'm Ky F-Fuji and I'm gonna be…" he starts but then stops, "I'm going to put a…an end to all fighting." Ky says he's face red again.
We all smile at him and he returns one, "All right then let's all work together then." Fumio say putting his hand out. We all reach out putting are hands other each other even Shinju wakes up and puts her paw on top of ours.
"One…Two…Three!" And we all yell, "Team Fumio!"
End of flash back
'No…not again…please.' I think because I couldn't speak. I fell on my bottom and catch her body. I'm on my knees holding her; I pull the pole out of her. Ky was also on his knees but father away from us.
"Kio!" I cry out putting my hands on her wound, the pole had gone right through the middle of her chest. But yet somehow she was still alive, I look around because I didn't know what to do. I start to use some charka to heal her but Kio grabs my hand and nods her head no.
"I'm sorry…it wasn't suppose to be…you." Ky says softly as he cries.
"Shut up already." Kio tries to smile but coughs and blood spills from her moth, "You're a ninja so grow up." She says and Ky looks up still crying.
"I-I…I was supposed to kill Amaya and the Rain ninja would let my family go." Ky says and my eyes widened. 'How could they?'
"But looks like you failed." A Rain ninja appears from the forest and I remember him, 'The Yasu and he's still wearing that dress…'
"Are you the one who but Ky up to this?" I yell at the ninja who just smiles and holds out he's hand to Ky.
"Let's go Ky. You don't belong here once the villager and other ninja find out what you did you'll be killed or even worse." Yasu smiles Ky turns slowly he's face paled.
"Ky don't!" I yell and Kio turns her head to the boy.
"Ky…" Kio says barely a whisper.
"I already messed up! I killed the girl I loved! And yet…" Ky yells and turns to us again tears streaming down he's face, "AND YET I STILL WANT TO LIVE!" he yells crying he's faced made him look like he was in pain. 'Live.' I remember what Fumio told me when he died.
"Love…" Kio whispers then smiles and laughs a little, "Your only 14 you shouldn't rush so far ahead." She says and coughs again.
"Kio." I said and look up Ky grabs the man's hand, "KY!" I yell but it was too late they vanished with a poof of smoke.
"Idiot…" Kio says, "Make sure you bring him back." Kio smiles, 'How can she be so clam and I'm just a mess now?' I question then look back down at Kio. She looked so tried…so defected.
"Hey don't you start crying now." Kio says, 'she even scolds me as she dies.'
"I can't help it." I say holding my best friends hand and I hear movement through the trees but don't look up.
"Take care of Shinju and learn to speak up for yourself because from now on you're the only one who can." Kio said as her eye's closing slowly, "And tell Ky I." She pauses and I couldn't believe my ears, "love him."
Kakashi and Guy burst through the trees and I just stare at Kio waiting for her to say something anything. Her face seemed to pale over time Kakashi and Guy didn't say anything and soon it was starting to get dark. I felt so cold and I started to get angry at my shelf. 'Why couldn't I save them? They were right in front of me!' I yell at my self and hit the ground with my fist as hard as I could.
"WHY!?" I yell and Guy looks taken aback, "Why couldn't I save them!? They were right there!" I yell hitting the ground over and over in till soon my knuckles are covered in my blood.
The anbu took away Kio's body and I didn't fight them. I picked up her pole after putting away my blades. Shinju was awake and pressed her head against my leg pushing me forward. I shuffle and pet her head after the anbu left Kakashi whispered something to Guy and Guy left with them. I stood there in front of Kakashi only a few feet away looking at the ground.
"I-I want to become s-stronger." I look up rubbing my teary eyes with my hand that wasn't holding Kio's pole, "I-I don't want to l-lose anyone anymore." I cry and Kakashi looked at my through I couldn't see he's eyes because they are shaded by the dark of the night.
"Will y-you help me K-Kakashi." I ask and tighten my hold on the pole.
"Let's go." Kakashi said holding his hand out and I take it as he helps me back to the Village with Shinju behind us.
Six months later
The chuunin exams are coming up and a lot has happened since the nine-tails attacked. Naruto has been taken into the care of some anbu; I've been training with Guy and Kakashi almost every day. I visit Rin's, Obito's, Fumio-sensei's, the Suzuki's family graves. Shinju has stayed with me but doesn't go on missions anymore. But I'm happy my teams for the chuunin exams are Guy, Kakashi, and me. I will become chuunin for you Kio…
