Amaya's POV-

I wake up early and get ready for the Chunin exams. I start to feel bubbly and smile like an idiot as I put my two blades under my brown jackets sleeves and grab my ninja pouch. I and Shinju walk out of the apartment and I lock the door. Shinju seems in a happy mode too as we walk down the stairs towards the meeting spot for the first part of the exams.

"Shinju because you're not taking part of the exams you'll have to wait outside, ok?" I told Shinju and she barks sitting down outside the building, "Good girl." I say walking inside the building.

"Amaya over here!" I hear Guy's voice up ahead and run over, "Good now we just need Kakashi." He says.

I nod, "What time does the exam start?" I ask looking at the clock on the hallway wall.

"Eight." Guy says looking around for Kakashi.

"We have…" I said doing the math in my head, "Thirty minutes." I said and look around for Kakashi.

"Why is he late?" I sigh at Guy's comment.

I jump at the feeling someone touching my shoulder, I turn around to yell at the person who touched me, "Kakashi." I sigh in relief.

"You're jumpy." Kakashi said then turned to Guy, "Let's go and find are sits in the classroom." He says and turned to the classroom where I and Guy followed.

We all take are sits next to each other and wait for the exams to begin. I see Kurenai and Asuma walk in and I give them a small wave along with the other ninja I knew from Ninja school and just seeing them around the village. I also take note of the genin from other villages.

"Everyone take your sits please." A tall man walks in with papers in he's hands. He starts to explain the rules of the part one exam. (It's just like the chunin exams Naruto takes with he's team.)

After he passed out the papers and glance at the first question. There were only ten questions but they were all difficult, 'How I'm I suppose to do this?' I pick up my pencil and write my name in the top right corner before turning back to the first question. The only option I had been to cheat but if I get caught then my whole team could suffer.

'Think Amaya!' I slowly pull out the blade from under my sleeve and point it to the side so I could see some kid's answers. I pushed the blade back in and write down the answers slowly afraid I would get caught.

I look over my answers sure that some were wrong but at least I have some answers. I keep my eyes on my paper and then notice there were only nine questions on the paper, 'Question ten is probably verbally.'

"Times up." The tall man said and we all put are pencils down and look up, "Call the names." He orders the other adult ninja in the room and they look at their list calling out the names of the ninja who were cheating.

Once those genin left everyone let a sigh of relief, "Now for question ten." The teacher starts and clears his voice, "You only have two options for this question. Choice one quit now. Choice two move on but the team-mate with the lowest sore will be a genin forever." He said smiling, "Write your answers now."

I look at my paper, 'No way is this how you become a chunin.' I glance at Kakashi who wrote down he's answer like it was nothing, 'Of course Kakashi is already a chunin so he knows the right answer.' I press my pencil to the paper and write, 'Choice one.'

"Alright pass papers up now." The teacher orders and I take my paper handing it to the person in front of me.

After a moment of him looking through the papers and writing names on a piece of paper he looked up, "The names I call are the ones who failed." He says. I lot of people were mad that choice one was the answer and I sigh in relief that I picked the right one.

"Alright that's it everyone who passed will continue after lunch. You have…" he says looking at the clock and my eyes follow, "In till that clock reaches one." 'We have almost three whole hours. Why would they give us so much time?'

"Understood." The class said and I stood up to stretch my legs and arms.

"Hey guys, where do you want to eat?" I ask as Kakashi and Guy get up from their sits.

"Anywhere is fine with me." Guy said and Kakashi nodded.

"Let's walk around in till we see something then." I said taking my leave out the door as the two boys followed.

"Oi! Amaya!" Someone called my name just as I step outside the building.

I look up and see Kurenai, Asuma, and a boy around the age of eight was with them. They wave us over and invite us to launch.

"Sounds fun." I said and noticed the boy I never meant before was looking at me, "Hi. I'm Amaya Tanaka. Who are you?" I ask the shy boy.

"Iruka Umino." He said after swallowing hard.

I shake his hand, "Nice to meet you." I said and all six of us start walking towards some restaurant. 'I wonder if he recognized my last name. Tanaka.' I hate my last name, it's not some much the name but more like the past it has behind it.

I sat next to Kakashi in the restaurant and Guy was on the other side of me, "So Kakashi when did you become Chunin?" Kurenai asked breaking the silent.

"When I was six." Kakashi said pulling out his book. I stare at him, 'Six! I'm 13 and my team never got close. We had good team work and everything but I wasn't strong enough.'

"Wow really!" Asuma said just as shocked as us.

"While I became chunin at eleven." Guy said proudly.

"Twelve." Asuma said.

"Thirteen." Kurenai said.

"How old are you guys anyways?" I ask realizing that they are older than me if they were all already chunin.

"Fifteen." Kurenai said.

"Fifteen." Asuma said.

"Eight." Iruka said.

"Fifteen." Guy said.

"Fifteen." Kakashi said not looking away from his book.

'Why are all my friends older than me?' I sigh, 'Great if I don't become a chunin this year that will not only make me the youngest but the oldest to become chunin.'

"Why how old are you?" Kurenai asked looking at me, 'She must have thought I was fifteen too.'

"Thirteen." I said quietly and they all laugh.

"I thought you were the same age as us after all we all graduated around the same time. Some a few years before us." Kurenai said pointing at Guy and Kakashi.

"I graduated when I was seven the same year as you guys but you were nine." I said rubbing my neck nervously.

"Wow all three of you graduated young." Iruka said and I turn to him.

"Are you still in the academy?" I ask him.

"Yep." Iruka said.

"Wait." I said then point at Kurenai and Asuma, "If you two are chunin why were you in the exam room?" I ask.

"Good eye." Asuma said smiling.

"Some chunin were asked to pretend they were genin. So they could also watch the genin take the test and see if they cheated." Kurenai explained.

"Oh I get it." I said as someone comes other to take are order.

I get the beef ramen with water and wait for the others to finish ordering before we get back to talking. I check the time by looking at the clock on the wall, 10:57.

I glance at Kakashi and caught him glancing at me, my heart started to beat faster and I look away from him. 'How I'm I ever going to focus in the exams with Kakashi here?' The food comes in one time and I began to eat the hot beef ramen. I take a slip of water and look back to the clock. Me and Kakashi finished our food before everyone else which was surprising because I'm a really slow eater.

"Hey, Amaya." Guy waves his hand in front of my face and I jump.

"S-sorry what is it?" I ask sitting up straight.

"Kakashi was wondering if you two want to go ahead and I'll meet you guys there later." Guy said and Kakashi was looking at me

"S-sure." I stutter and curse inside my head for doing so.

I tried to pay for my meal but Kurani said she would pay for me, I smile and thanked her. Me and Kakashi walked out of the restaurant and he lead me the opposite way of the meeting spot.

"Where are we g-going?" I ask, 'Why do I keep stuttering?'

"You'll see." Kakashi said walking in front of me so I couldn't see his face. I start to get worry, 'I wonder what he has to tell me. What if he doesn't like me? What if his breaking up with me?' I shook my head, 'No way. It's only been a day and Kakashi said he liked me back, so I shouldn't jump to conclusions.'

"We're here." Kakashi says and I look up from the ground and noticed we are surrounded by trees and there was a river flowing peacefully in front of us. The ground is cover in dark green grass and there were flowers everywhere.

"W-wow." I said and look at Kakashi who looked happy, "Why did you bring me here?" I ask finally happy that I didn't stutter.

"I thought this could be a place for you and me to hang out...alone." Kakashi says and he rubs the back of his head, 'Was he nervous?'

I smile, "Let's hang out here after the Chunin exams." I said and stare at the river. The silence between us was nice, it fitted Kakashi since he's not really the one to talk a lot.

I look at the sky and gasp, "We're gonna be late!" I panic and grab Kakashi's hand and began to run towards the next exam area.
