Chapter 152: Sky and Sea

As light appeared in the room once more, a burst of wind appeared from Sky, pushing Kairi, Donald and Goofy back. While the Princess of Heart kept her ground, Donald and Goofy were pushed through the large wooden door before the door itself closed up. The Princess of Heart didn't have time to question Sky's actions as she found herself diving to the floor to avoid a vertical line of thunder.

She pushed herself up from the ground, her eyes standing on Sky as he smirked, switching his claw from yellow to white, and summoning his white corrupted orbs to hover around him. As she looked at what her friend had become, she remembered what he had made her promise back in Little Devon. She remembered that she promised to stop him from hurting anyone if he lost control of his heart. To think that Sora knew what was going to happen to him, yet carried on helping his friends.

"Ready to face the end?" Sky challenged, crossing his arms as he waited for her to make a move, disposing his keyblade in the progress.

She stood firmly, her hand brushed across the brown bag placed on her, reminding her of the contents. She knew what she needed to do. If she can get Sky out of Vantias 'control then she will have the chance to give him the cure and the Papou Fruit. She just needs to figure out how. She nodded towards him, placing herself in the battle position. "Ready."

A groan came from the throne, grabbing the two's attention. "How long are you going to be staring at each other?!" The Dark Master complained, clicking his fingers.

The two fighters looked above to see a dark cloud cover the ceiling, growling viciously before striking down with multiple amounts of lightning, causing the two to move. As she dodge and deflected any lightning bolt that came towards her, Kairi turned to see Sky stomping, causing rows of fire to come towards her. "Change!" With quick movements, she absorbed her keyblade just as Vantias' attack has stopped. With a clap of her hands, water merged from her, taking out the rows of fire, striking all the containers that seem to be protected by a barrier, yet when the attack ended, Sky didn't stand in front of her.

She felt a grasp on her shoulder and she soon began to feel her energy drain from her body. "Give me your light…" Sky muttered darkly as he took her energy before kicking her away from him, making her slam against the wall. She gasped from the impact but moved herself quickly as Sky followed up with an ice attack, freezing the wall just as she moved out of the way.

Pushing herself from the ground, she forced herself towards Sky, surrounding herself with water as she sphered towards him, only to miss him by a mere second, his laughter haunting her from his dodge. 'He's keeping his distance.' She thought before thinking that she should keep her distance too. With his ability to absorb light, going next to him won't be the best idea.

"Burn!" Sky stomped as he sent rows of fire towards Kairi once more, his shadowed claw turned red.

"Water!" Keeping distance in mind, she tried to long shots of water towards Sky while jumping the fire, trying to keep an eye where he moves. When the fire attack finished, she continued to fire water bursts at the speeding Endless, smiling as the last one hit him, causing him to halt. Her smile dropped however as she watched Sky create a tornado in front of him, using his hands to control the force of winds towards her. Switching back to Ultimate Oath, Kairi created walls of earth to come between her and the tornado if the tornado was coming too close for her to avoid.

"Holyga!" She cast, breaking through her protective wall and breaking the tornado attack as the attack heads straight towards the Chaos of Light. He made no attempt to dodge though. Instead, he raised his claw and absorbed the attack, his smirk never leaving his face. His smirk only dropped when Kairi managed to speed towards him, catching him off guard, as she slammed Ultimate Oath across his face, as well as kicking him before she blasted him away with a strong water attack.

He didn't see that coming. She thought determinately, only to fall to her knees in pain as her heart struck her furiously. "This pain…" She remembered it too well; it was Lizza's poison attack. As she held onto her chest tight, breathing heavily; she watches Sky point his pink glowing claw towards her, while holding his chest in pain. Is he—is he affected by the attack too? She questioned. It wasn't long before Sky dropped the attack, releasing the stabbing attack to the heart.

Kairi smiled at this. Endless shouldn't be affected by other Endless' abilities so for Lizza's Poison attack to still affect Sky, it only means that a bit of Sora is still there. She thought. As Sky's claw changed back to his usual white, an idea struck the Princess of Heart. If his claw changes colour for the power that he is using, does that mean that he might wield the weakness from using that power?

An angry yell came from where Sky stood before he appeared in front of Kairi once more, his claw grasping her throat, the light draining from her. "You're no challenge. You will always be weak. You will never get Sora back." Sky growled forcibly as he strangled the life out of her. A bang reached his ears as he looked at the shielded door, watching as those behind it tried to break it open.

With his grip loosening, Kairi grabbed the claw holding his throat, trying to pull him off of her as she grasped for air. As she held the claw, she noticed that her light was no longer getting drained but his claw was getting darker from her touch, just like the other times. It didn't take long for Sky to pull his claw away from her and try to kick her away, only Kairi dodged his attack.

She watched his claw, watching it turn red as the anger begun to show on his face. "Wateraga!" With elegance, Kairi trapped Sky into a whirlpool, holding him tight, unable to move. "Time to take this." She began to dig through Brian's bag for the cure.

"Get back!" Vanitas' voice echoed through the room as he summoned orbs of darkness to shoot towards her, making her back away from Sky.

As she dodged the Dark Master's attack, she remained open to Sky, who had managed to break out of her water hole. She watched his claw turn from red to blue, making her raise her keyblade in the air. "Thunderaga!" She casted on the quick to avoid the dark orbs after her. The attack struck Sky hard, he even seem to be struggling to move.

Thought Sky was paralyzed, his orbs weren't. His corrupted light shot at Kairi, just as Vantias' dark orbs had halted. They were just a fast as Sky was a while ago. The Princess of Heart didn't know that light could hurt her as the orbs buzzed past her arm, scarring it with its intense light, She held herself though the pain was unbearable. Taking her keyblade, she shot fireballs at them until all four was destroyed. She quickly took the time to heal herself, only to find her healing going towards him, his claw turning green.

So my theory is correct. He is using the other Endless' abilities. With that in mind, she took this chance to cast a strong fire spell to rain down on him, as small fire meteors struck him at a fast rate. This is my chance to trap him again. She thought as she charged towards the downed Sky, only to find that her weapon disappeared in her hands. "No… No! No!" She repeated as she tried to summon her keyblade or the ability to cast magic.

Merging from the smoke, Sky pointed his yellow claw towards the Princess. "Ready to dance?" With the change of power, Sky began to fire multiple amounts of fire towards her, both through rows of fire on the floor and multiple amounts of fireballs.

With no spells or weapon to defend her; Kairi dodged the attacks aimed towards her as best as she could while she tried to reach for her remedy in her pockets. Without a weapon, she wouldn't much longer in this battle. With the door blocked, there is no way the others will be able to help her. It didn't take long for Sky to drive forward to grab hold of her again, draining the light out of her. Still she tried to grab hold of Sky's claw again, even though he thrown her against the wall whenever she tried to do so.

With her light draining, she began to become light headed that she couldn't hear what Sky was saying to her. His voice only blurred as her surrounds began to blur as well. She could only look at her corrupted friend's face, she could have sworn she had just heard Sky tell her to hug him. With half a mind, she did just that and wrapped her arms around him.

Her light returned to her, as well as her hearing and sight as she watched Sky try to struggle against her grip as she held on for dear life. She watched his face, watching as his eyes flickered from white to yellow to blue and back while he cursed her to let go of him. It was only when his eyes were blue, his arm had embraced her while his claw was pointed at Vantias, blasted multiple amounts of light towards him.

Kairi took this chance to jump back, smiling as she watched Sky attack Vantias. She quickly took the chance to heal herself, something she is glad for, before she found herself holding herself against Sky's keyblade. His eyes returned to the emptiness of white.

So he's fighting now. She thought as she struggled against the force of the Light Heart-Stuck. She noticed that his Kingdom Key held was very similar to the one his anti-form held in the simulator on the ship. As she slammed her keyblade from the side, her moves were reflected with no problem by the Endless, laughing slightly as he forced her back. The speed of Sky's attacks caught her off-guard, clearly showing her that Sky was going easy on her before and how much more powerful he had become since their dual in Little Devon.

His constant attacks didn't allow Kairi to breathe, his Air Raids were more faster, his Sliding Dash would catch her off guard as she tried to create space from him and slam her back down, any move that would have covered him in his Final Form showed in this fight as the Princess struggled to keep on her feet. Even his corrupted lights were being more infuriating as they would shoot lasers at her on occasion. Kairi watched his behaviour as they fought though, noticing that he was no using the other Endless' abilities but his own. Due to this, no weaknesses show up to her that she could use. Both of them were using light based attack within their keyblade and their spells didn't have any special effect against them. Their advantages levelled too. While Sky could very well absorb Kairi's energy, she could protect herself with a barrier of water from his ability or try to hug him like she did last time.

Both fighters were being cautious now. Time was slipping past them.

The door cracked open slightly, halting the two from their fight as they saw Riku, Brian, Hikari, Mickey, Donald and Goody come into the room, also making their notice that the shield had become smaller, allowing the door to open but still no allowing their friends to intervene. Sky shot around to face the Dark Master. "You let them in and I will swear that I will hurt you." He told him, making it clear what Sky wanted to do.

Kairi to see the others talking, trying to get their attention, but their voices were not heard, blocked by the barrier. As she saw that while Riku, Brian and Mickey were working on breaking the barrier, Hikari pointed to Sky, making her notice that he was distracted by everyone's appearance and Vantias. She took this chance to jump on him from behind and hold him tight.

Again, Sky struggled against Kairi's grasp as she touched the parts of him that was infected. Again, his eyes changed and again, he struck at Vantias, making the barrier weaker. She had jumped away from Sky just in case but it looked like Sky was now having his own battle for control against Vantias. "Just one more time." She told her as she rushed in, only to be blast back as strong columns of light. As she looked back, it looked as if Sky had healed himself slightly from his attack. "Don't fall to his control!" She told him, trying to get through to him.

Sky ignored her as he pointed his claw to outside the barrier, his claw turning blood red. "I hope that you're ready to feel the pain I did, Princess." Sky grunted, using his keyblade in his other hand to instruct the orbs of light, as if he was a composer. As he stood in the open, a wind and light based barrier covered him, shielding him from any attacks of approaches.

Kairi could see what Sky was doing; his claw seemed to have a control over Brian like Skullo had once before, stopping the others from trying to break into the barrier, as well as trying to keep her away with his orbs and barrier. The orbs were doing a good job of keeping her away. They moved at the same speed that Sky was moments ago. The light lasers coming from the orbs would burn the Princess's skin like acid, having no problem fighting through her garments.

They fought in a pattern though, after a while, Kairi would predict where they would be and slash the orb down with her keyblade. The only problem was that whenever she destroyed an orb of corrupted light, another would form to replace it. To try and take them out simultaneously, Kairi absorbed her keyblade into her element, forming a huge water bubble around her. As she was about to realise it, she noticed the banging on the barrier had begun again. From the corner of her eye, she could see that Brian had managed to gain control of himself again as everyone worked on the barrier.

It was only then she realise that she have left herself completely open.

Before she had a change to remove her water spell, Sky emerged from his wind and light cocoon and shot a powerful bolt of lightning from his glowing yellow claw. The lightning struck the bubble, cooking the Princess alive within the bubble, causing her to drop to the ground unconscious.

The Chaos of Light expression didn't change as he walked over to her, using his orbs of light to hold her up and keep her hands and feet in place in case she decided to wake up. He could see everyone watching, waiting to see what he was going to do to the unconscious maiden. He thought that a scene like this would cause him to laugh madly with happiest as he will finally be able to get rid of the one that would risk his power to disappear. Yet he remains emotionless as he stood in front of the Princess of Heart, lifting her face up by his hand.

He knew something was off. He could tell that the Princess was badly hurt from his attacks but kept to the point that she's alive. When he had fired the lightning bolt, he felt that it wasn't going full blast, a shot that should have turned her to dust and yet she stands in front of him. "It can't be…" He summoned his keyblade in his hand and slammed down at the Princess….he halted at the last minute.

Vanitas growled at this. "Finish her!" He commanded.

"You're not involved in this!" Sky growled back, his eyes looking towards his friends behind the barrier, watching as they attempt to break through the barrier. Watching his friends look at him with precaution, as if his next actions will determine who side he is on. Wait? He isn't on anyone's side. He's on his own. Why has he been defending the Dark Master? He growled as he felt control come back to him. "In fact…." He shot around to face the Dark Master. "Now that she's not distracting me! It's time we went back to what we were doing!" With a point of his white claw, he released Kairi from the white orbs grasp and shot them straight towards him.

In mere seconds, the barrier broke as the Dark Master jumped from his throne and slashed the orbs down, revealing his weapon. He held a keyblade. The keyblade's teeth and head were black with a red outline and possess a round, cog-like shape. The handle is red and the guard has the same coloration and cog-like shape as the teeth. The shaft is predominantly coloured in shades of grey and sports a copper-coloured gear in the centre, with two intersecting, black chains wrapped around it. Two more chains are wrapped around the base of the shaft in a similar fashion. It also has eyes of darkness; one located in the head of the blade and one embedded in the hilt. Its Keychain is comprised of three small, copper gears and ends in a charm resembling two halves of a gear arranged in an S-shape.

Sky looked back towards Kairi, seeing that Riku, and King Mickey stood beside him while Brian, Hikari, Donald and Goofy went towards her. "I'm guessing that you couldn't read Sora's goodbye letter." Sky growled with annoyance. All he wanted was to fight Vanitas alone. With the problem to eliminate Kairi still in hand, he wasn't sure how it will be if he were to try and kill the others.

Riku smirked. "With that obvious hidden message made with capital letter, we couldn't."

"What hidden message?" Sky raised an eyebrow, as well as cursing himself. He should have kept an eye on Sora while he was saying goodbye to Kairi, only he didn't want to see him pronounce his ever-lasting love to her.

Vanitas stepped towards them. "It's all nice that you have come together but it's too late." He told them.

As soon as he had spoken, the containers began to glow a sunny glow. With the containers glowing, the others could easily see their captured comrades. With each large container that glowed, the indents of the ground flowed until it reached the centre. It was at this point that Sky realised that he was staying in a circle; it might as well have a red 'X' over it. Before he knew it, he felt uncontrollable energy flow through him. He felt so power and unstoppable. He was truly the Chaos of Light.

Just as quickly as he gained the power, it was lost to him as a beam of light was shot through his heart by the Dark Master, Vanitas, himself.
