I should have gotten this chapter finished a long time ago. It's a fuller chapter.

Chapter 19: Hunger For Power

Bonnie was confused…

"They found me…they're coming for me…they cannot find me…"

Elijah was trying to make sense of her words.

Davina looked absolutely terrified of the front door she entered from.

Before any of them could possibly make a move, Bonnie asked her the question both Bonnie and Elijah were wondering.

"Who's looking for you Davina?"

She turned to Bonnie sharply "The witches of the quarter. They want me dead" her tone held unshed tears and mind consuming fear.

Elijah was a bit confused and he wasn't at the same time.

He understood if the witches wanted her dead. She had more power than them all and she is a threat to their entire coven. She could wipe them out with the flick of her wrist if she wanted to. At the same time, Elijah was a bit confused as well. Rather than destroying such magic, he would think the witches would be smart to try and win the girl to their side as one of them, use her magic for their own needs. It didn't make sense.

"Why would they want you dead? As witches, they should be aiding you" Elijah stated as if it was a fact.

Davina's response was even more confusing to them "If I don't die, all the magic in the quarter will be gone for good…and our magic is linked to the city, unlike spiritual magic"

Bonnie had never heard such a thing before as magic being linked to the earth, or a city for that matter, but it was possible…Expression is linked to death…dark magic is linked to the darkness inside of you.

Davina had no time to explain though because then Elijah screamed in pain and fell to the floor, clutching his head. Davina and Bonnie shared a look with each other before the entrance door was opened harshly by wind…or magic…revealing five witches…all dressed in black and chanting. Their hands were pointing at Davina. Some of them were pointing at Elijah, most likely holding him down. Bonnie didn't recognize any of them but in her defense, she never met any of the New Orleans witches—apart from Davina—before since she arrived.

Maybe that was a good thing.

Bonnie needed to act because she can see that Davina is trying like hell to fight off whatever magic is being done to her, without using her magic and killing them in the process. She can see that Davina doesn't want to kill them, or at least not unless she has to.

Bonnie had no idea what was really going on, and Klaus would be here at any time and kill them before she can find out anything, so she decided that everything just needs to stop.

She lifted one arm and turned her wrist. The witches immediately went still. Their arms rested to their sides…fingers were stretched out against their thighs and their heads were staring straight at Bonnie in shock.

Bonnie had just assumed that she would have been able to restrain them all; she had no idea that she'd actually restrain them. Her magic had become really strong since Kol gave her the magic back.

The witches were as shocked as she was.

Elijah slowly stood as his head eased from the pain to find two witches he knew all too well.

Sabine and Sophie

He glanced at Bonnie who kept her hand up and her mind concentrated to constricting them and their magic, while Elijah smirked at them all.

"How rude to enter someone's home without an invitation…"

Sophie spoke up "We just want the girl"

"You all want me dead so you can all save your precious magic" Davina screamed…the entire house grew dark and a sudden chill came to everyone.

Bonnie turned to Davina and smiled in an effort to get her to calm down "Davina, your magic and your emotions are colliding…I'm going to need you to calm down"

Davina breathe in and out and slowly, the dark feeling was gone and so was the coldness around them.

Davina glared at Sophie "You were one of the good ones. I wanted to run to you for help when my friends were slaughtered. You turned your back on them when they cut Monique's throat right in front of you and you tried to help the rest of us…I saw you. Now you're helping them try to kill me?"

Sabine felt the need to respond to Davina's accusations "It is an honorable sacrifice"

The word 'honor' must have strike a cord with Elijah because he stepped towards the witches slowly until he was in front of Sabine "What would you know about Honor…" his eyes then glanced at the other witches "…or any of you for that matter?"

Bonnie was curious and she started thinking. They were never able to find her because they were banned from using magic. They must have gotten word that Marcel's magic juice ran out or something and now they found her. Davina was able to see them coming and when Bonnie took her magic, Davina lost that advantage. When Bonnie gave her back her magic, it was just in the nick of time.

It made Bonnie start to wonder…

Ignoring Elijah, she asked Sabine "Do you need her or her magic?"

Elijah and Davina seemed baffled at Bonnie. She seemed as though she was considering giving them Davina or her magic, but Elijah wanted to see where it was going…because he knew that Bonnie would not give up Davina.

"We need her magic so that it goes into the ground and fuel all our magic" Sabine replied with a light small smile, as if she was relieved that Bonnie was considering handing Davina over.

Bonnie nods.

"I have come across a coven with their magic before…" Sheila stated, alarming Bonnie to her presence behind her "They need the girl and the magic. They need her to be sacrificed, not just her magic. Without the sacrifice…it will not work"

Bonnie briefly wondered if they was another way to do the ritual without sacrifice or seal their magic in the grounds forever but she wasn't expecting her grandmother to hear her thoughts.

"I'm not sure. No one has ever tried another way before. Perhaps if you had more time, you might be able to find another way before it's too late. I'm not sure if the girls are revived after the sacrifice or not, or else I would not have suggested finding another way at all. Take her magic. She is useless to them without her magic"

Bonnie silently agreed with her grams.

"Do you need Davina...or do you need her magic?"

When Sabine or any of them didn't answer her, they showed a tiny bit of fear at her words and her grandmother was right.

Bonnie felt his presence in the room before he thought about speaking, she felt everyone's presence enter before they thought of speaking but she decided to not pay them any mind. She had to concentrate on keeping the witches in place.

She needed to take Davina's magic but she's not sure if she can keep the witches in place while she takes Davina magic back.

"Kol…can you keep these witches in place…as well as their magic?"

Kol snorted in response "I'm insulted you even have to ask darling"

Kol raised both of his hands swiftly and the witches all floated in the air. Still bounded but terrified of the power Kol and Bonnie possess.

Bonnie turned to Davina and smiled sadly at her "I'm afraid I'll have to take it back"

Davina glared at the witches, never taking her eyes off them "I know. Can you make it less painful?"

Bonnie shook her head "Afraid not"

Davina sighed in acceptance and finally placed her eyes on Bonnie. She turned and walked over towards Bonnie and then stopped in front of her "Do it"

"Fes Matos Tribum, Exum Sue, Redem Supas Quo!"

Davina screamed in pain but her screams were lower compared to before, she was trying to keep her pain at bay.

"No!" screamed the witches, with wide eyes and panic painted on their faces.

When Bonnie was finished, the feeling of a heavy burden on her was back and for some reason she wasn't too sadden by it. It made her feel normal, as normal as she can be.

Without turning to face the witches "Now you have no reason to come after her"

Meanwhile, Rebekah had been standing there and watching the show from the sidelines, just smirking at the how cocky the witches appeared, as if they knew they would win. When she heard footsteps upstairs, she wondered if someone was in the house trying to sneak up on them. When she did a body count, she realized that it could have only been one person about to make her entrance.

In a blur, Rebekah headed upstairs and grabs Caroline, halting her in place. At the same time Klaus—who knew that Rebekah was going to keep an eye out on Caroline and make sure that she is not seem by these power hungry witches—which is ironic considering he's fighting for power—not really fighting—from Marcel—and keep Caroline safe.

"Leave witches" Klaus snarled from where he stood at the bottom of the staircase "You can either chose to walk out or crawl out"

They all looked to one another…Sabine gave them a nod and they all nodded at them. Kol slowly put them down on their feet but kept his hands up on guard.

While most of the witches turned to head for the door, Sabine and Sophie had a silent understanding and they both glared at Bonnie as they used their minds to attack her.

Bonnie felt their magic affecting her but she—similarly to what Kol had done—she lifted both of her hands up, forcing all witches to be levitated in the air, magic and body constricted.

Kol smirks and folds his arms.

"I'd like all of you to meet Bonnie. Bonnie Bennett"

At the sound of her name, all the witches gasped and stared at her in shock—or what shock they can show—and horror. Bonnie released them from her magic and let them fall to the floor from the height they were levitated. Some were caught up in their own pain to think about attacking her while Sophie and Sabine just stared at Bonnie, mostly in shock and wonder…but with a little of disappointment.

"You are a Bennett witch" Bonnie nods and Sabine's statement "A rare witch to find"

"You're a witch…you shouldn't be allies to vampires. You should be with us…not against us" Sophie said absently, confusion thick in her throat.

Bonnie turns serious "I am ally with anyone or anything I choose. I am obligated to no one"

A warlock who seems to be in pain spoke "You are a disgrace to your own kind"

Bonnie snorts and folds her arms "You all are no better. I am not holier-than-thou and I most certainly do not practice your magic. Expression magic is said to be the darkest magic but I am proven wrong…any magic that makes you kill innocent children is considered dark and tainted in my book. How can you claim me a disgrace to witches and yet you murder innocent little girls for the sake of magic?"

Another witch replied "A needed sacrifice"

Bonnie lets out a humorous laugh "You say 'sacrifice' as if the word is suppose to justify what everyone else considers as murder"

Kol shakes his head "There are loopholes to everything on this planet; human and supernatural. You claim Hayley's pregnancy to be a loophole, find a loophole to your magic problem"

Elijah steps forward and looks down at both Sophie and Sabine on the floor "Davina without her magic is of no use to you. I would suggest that you use your new found time and find another way"

The witches are all silent and are all staring at Bonnie, some are glares…Sabine's stare has more wonder and thought than fear or hate. Bonnie would have to keep an eye out on that witch if she makes it out of the mansion alive.

Sabine speaks up "Then we'll just have to kill you"

Bonnie sighs heavily "Esther Mikaelson created vampires…the very vampires in this room a thousand years ago. She died but her creations remained on earth. You can kill me but her magic will then be forever lost to nature, as I am a witch with the roots of spiritual magic and you will gain nothing and lose everything"

Davina finally speaks up, tired with all the fighting "If it's my magic they want then just give it to them"

Kol speaks up, voice clouded with amusement "Doesn't work that way darling, once someone's magic is taken, no one but the witch who took it can use it. They cannot transfer it to someone else or store it in a bottle"

Bonnie glared at the witches on the floor "Unlike the lot of you, I do not need your type of magic to harness the power of my bloodline. My spiritual magic is more than enough"

Klaus stepped forward to the witches and bent down in front of Sophie. His index finger touched the throbbing vein neck as it jumps in fear of Klaus. He smirks at her reaction to him. He loved the smell of fear.

"None of you have any reason to be in my house, so …"he stood and turned to Kol"Get them out and make sure they stay out"

"Wait…Wait!" was Sophie's pleading voice as she raised her hand up to stop Kol from using his magic against her.

Klaus turned to stare at Sophie as she pleaded with her eyes.

"Klaus please…hear us out…" Klaus cut her off with a snarl.

"The moment you released that werewolf from your hold, you lost every right to even beg"

Sophie's face grew harsh and firm in response "I still have the power to harm Hayley and your baby if you do not hand over the girl and the magic"

Klaus chuckled in amusement and glanced at the other witches behind Sophie and Sabine before returning his attention to the two witches that has caused him the most problems.

"As it turns out, the werewolf and your sister lied to you before her embarrassing death. They had planned Hayley to conceive a child from my seed, only it didn't work so little Hayley was desperate to make good on her word. She thought that it didn't matter whether it was my child or not…the child just had to be from a hybrid"

The horror on Sophie's face was priceless to Klaus "The little wolf conceived a child for a hybrid but I am not the hybrid you seek"

Sabine spoke, noting that Sophie was choking on the air around her "The child the girl carries does not belong to you"

He smirked, loving how that sounded "Indeed it doesn't"

A doctor could tell that Sophie was going to be sick, she still had the strength to ask "Where's Hayley?"

"Currently on the highway to hell with the hybrid that was needy enough to sleep with her"

Kol smirked at that.

Klaus stooped down in front of Sophie and Sabine and smirked at them "You can slowly rip that child from her filthy womb with your clueless minds and I won't blink an eye much less two" he snarled.

Caroline had tried to ask Rebekah why she had man-handled a pregnant woman when Rebekah took it too far and placed her hand on Caroline's mouth, covering it so that Caroline would not alert their unwelcomed visitors of her presence and condition. Rebekah then pressed her against a wall to keep her there while she listened in on them.

Caroline tried to remove Rebekah's hand but she was far weaker that she was when against an original. It was annoying to be frank.

"Caroline calm down" Rebekah whispered "You cannot be in there. Those witches that had the were-slut hostage are here. Nik is currently shoving the facts of Hayley's pregnancy down their throats and they will be curious to the pregnant blonde, in our house whose also baking her own hybrids"

Caroline understood Rebekah's words so she calms down in her arms and slowly, Rebekah releases Caroline from her grasp but still places her finger to her lips, asking Caroline to keep quiet.

The entire room was in complete silence. Only the vampires in the room heard Rebekah whispering to Caroline and they were all on edge, hoping that Caroline would stay put, Klaus especially. He knows how stubborn Caroline is and knowing her, there's a good chance that she might make an appearance but hopefully, Caroline understands Rebekah's words and not come out, no matter what happens or what she hears.

Sophie looks to Bonnie, thinking of attempting to communicate with her in a more peaceful manner.

"Look, Bonnie…"

Bonnie turns to glare at her lightly.

"I can tell that you're a witch of the spirits, and you know better than any of us that there should always be a balance. If there is no magic in this town full of vampires and werewolves, hybrids…whatever he is…" Sophie listed as she pointed at Kol "There will be no balance and there will be utter chaos"

Bonnie nods in agreement "Go on…"

"If there is another way to save our magic without killing anyone they we will gladly do it but as a witch of nature…you cannot allow this kind of imbalance to take place"

Bonnie is now annoyed and a little pissed. She had been just growing into her powers when she kept hearing about the balance. It had annoyed her then and it annoys her even more now.

Her grandmother placed her hand on her shoulder. Bonnie couldn't felt it but she knew it was there. Her grandmother was trying to calm her down.

"I know how much you dislike the balance of nature Bonnie, but she's right. The Mikaelson's as a family is crazy enough. Imagine what can happen if that madness extends to the entire city…"

Caroline's nerves are on fire. She's afraid that the witches might know of her and her children. She's afraid for her life, for their life and she can't calm down for the life of her. Rebekah had inched closer so she can get a clearer sound of everything being said. Caroline leaned back against the wall as she tried to gather her nerves.

Suddenly she felt a kick to the side of her stomach. It seems as though her children can feel her fear and they are now scared as well.

She placed her hand over her stomach "Sshh" she said softly to her stomach "Mommy's here…no one is going to hurt you while I'm here…"

Rebekah smiled, hearing her words.

Sabine just kept staring at the Bennett witch.

Her plan had fallen apart in front of her all because of the Bennett witch. She was to get the girl and take her magic but now…the magic is in Bonnie and the girl and the magic is useless without one another.

She doesn't have any more time to waste and she will not waste time searching for 'another way'.

But as she sits on the floor, an act of fear on her face, a thought came into her mind and an anew plan forms…

"La puissance de trios est pas de match pour la puissance d'une sorciere Bennett"
