Their landing was not exactly graceful, as the portal opened up quite a bit above the ground and sent them crashing to the uneven forest floor. Emma, who had gone through first, was the first to sit up on her knees.

"No", she said, shaking her head as she took in their surroundings. "No."

"It appears we're back in the Enchanted Forest", Hook sighed.

"Yeah, I think we all got that", Wolfgang said and brushed some leaves off himself as he rose. "Only question is when."

Emma sighed and rose as well, then froze.

"What?" Clarissa asked. "What is it?"

"I think I've got a pretty good idea about when", the blonde in the leather jacket said and walked up to a nearby tree. From its trunk she pulled a parchment with a drawn picture of Mary Margaret – or as she was known in the Enchanted Forest; Snow White. Above the image was one word in large, bold letters; WANTED. The text then continued beneath the drawing.

SNOW WHITE

For crimes against the Queen:

MURDER,

TREASON,

TREACHERY

"Alright, so quite a bit into the past, then", Clarissa breathed.

"I suppose we're lucky we wound up in this time", Hook pointed out. "We could've appeared in the middle of the Ogre Wars or smack dab in the belly of a whale or... why are you reading that now?"

Everyone turned towards Emma; she had grabbed Hook's dropped satchel, pulled the storybook from it and was now flipping through the worn pages.

"Because when we were falling through I was thinking about Henry", she responded, "and the story we were reading at Granny's."

"You think time portals work like that?" Wolfgang asked. "That they take you back to where you were thinking of?"

"Not where; when", Clarissa corrected, causing her friend to roll his eyes at her.

"Excellent deduction", Hook sarcastically pointed out and grabbed his satchel, which Emma had dropped back on the ground after pulling out the storybook. "Alas, it appears they also don't stay open for the return trip."

"Nope", Emma sighed and closed the book, "we're trapped in the past."

Hook took the book from her and placed it back in the satchel as she groaned.

"I should've left Storybrooke the instant we defeated Zelena; this is exactly the kind of thing that does not happen in New York!"

"On the bright side I'm sure real estate is much more reasonable here", Wolfgang pointed out with a grin, causing Hook to bark out a laugh and Emma to glare at him.

"Don't."

"I understand your frustration", Hook said, "but we've been in dire straits before. There's no need to be antsy. We have our wits; we just have to focus on being constructive."

With that he turned and looked around, studying their surroundings.

"So", he said after a while, "any ideas on how to get back?"

"How would I know how to get back to the future?" Emma asked, placing her hands on her hips. "Who do I look like; Marty McFly?"

"Marty Mc-who?" Hook asked in surprise.

"You know, the guy who's got this car and the lightning and he travels in time..." Wolfgang begun, but the pirate just looked all the more confused.

"Is he some kind of wizard?" he asked.

"No, Marty McFly is not a wizard", Emma replied, "he's..."

She stopped in realization.

"Maybe a wizard is exactly what we need; we could try to find Rumplestiltskin!"

"So suddenly I don't count as a wizard?" Wolfgang asked.

"Well, you said..." Emma begun, before Hook suddenly pulled her in behind one of the large tree trunks. She stared at him in bewilderment before she heard the sound of galloping hooves on the road she had spotted through the trees.

"Black Knights", Hook hissed. Emma quickly looked around and saw that Clarissa and Wolfgang had taken cover as well. She then looked out towards the road. Ten riders galloped past them; all of the horses were either dark brown or black, the riders wore black clothes and black armour. Their faces were hidden behind black cloth, which they most likely had no trouble seeing through themselves but made them look faceless to everyone else.

"Look", Clarissa whispered. Emma turned to look further down the road and saw another group of riders approaching, this time surrounding a black carriage.

"What's going on?" Wolfgang asked.

"Nothing good", Hook replied, before he led them away from the road. "If the Queen sends her knights ahead like that, it means that she wants them to gather up the townsfolk in a village before she gets there."

As they hurried through the trees the village in question soon came into view. The Black Knights that had ridden first were already there, dragging people out of their homes and placing them together next to the well. Hook found them a good place to watch the scene from; a group of young firs huddled around some boulders.

They were just in time; the carriage pulled to a halt out on the road and the door opened, revealing a proud-looking woman. She wore black riding boots, black leather tights with a high waist, and a red, low-cut riding coat. Her long, black hair was pulled away from her face and secured by hairpins, and on her head she wore a black hat with blood red feathers.

"That's Regina", Clarissa whispered.

"No, love", Hook whispered back and shook his head. "The Evil Queen."

"Listen to me very carefully", the Queen said as she marched along the line of villagers. "Whatever squalor and despair your pathetic little lives have been able to tolerate until this point is nothing compared to the pain and misery I can inflict if I leave here unhappy."

She spun around, glaring at the villagers, who cowered in front of her in fear.

"You will help me."

"She's even worse without the sensible pantsuits", Emma remarked.

"Please", one of the villagers said, "Your Majesty."

He stepped forward; an old, bald man holding the hand of a boy that seemed to be made out of wood.

"That's Pinocchio!" Wolfgang hissed.

"And that's Marco", Emma said, nodding at the man.

"Geppetto", Clarissa said. "That's his name here, right?"

"I don't know; I never met him here", Hook replied.

"We're a peaceful village", Geppetto continued. "What do you want from us?"

"Justice", the Queen replied, then tossed her head at him and marched back along the line of villagers. "If I find out anyone in this village has helped the bandit Snow White, they will suffer dearly."

She smiled at her guards.

"Here's what helping Snow White looks like."

The guards in question stepped behind the carriage and dragged out a woman who had been tied to the seat at the back. She was bound and had a hood covering her face, which the guards now roughly pulled away.

"Help me!" she screamed at the villagers. "She's going to kill me!"

"Who is that?" Wolfgang asked.

"I don't know, I've never seen her before", Emma replied.

"Who wants to be next?" the Queen asked, smiling at the villagers.

"Granny's among them as well", Clarissa said, pointing at the old woman with glasses. The Queen laughed menacingly as the prisoner screamed in terror, which caused Emma to move to get up.

"Wait", Hook hissed and grabbed hold of her arm, holding her down, "what are you doing?"

"I'm helping that woman; she's just an innocent..."

"No, Swan", Hook interrupted. "When Belle figured out that Zelena wanted to change the past she warned us it was dangerous. Messing with events could do untold damage, to all of us."

"So I'm supposed to just let her rot and die?" Emma hissed as the prisoner was hooded and led away once again.

"Whatever her fate we can't interfere", Wolfgang pointed out. "At least not if we want to get back to the world we know."

Emma eyed the Evil Queen as she strode down the line of villagers once again, a wide grin plastered on her face. Fear was her weapon of choice today and she knew how to use it damn well, most likely because everyone had heard of the things she could do with magic.

"We need to find Rumple", she said as the Queen climbed back into her carriage. "The sooner we get out of here the better."

Once again Hook stopped her from rising, causing her to glare at him in annoyance.

"I agree", the pirate said, "but there's one thing we need to do first."

He nodded towards a line of clothes behind one of the nearby houses.

"Right", Clarissa said and looked down at herself. "I guess jeans are not exactly right for the Enchanted Forest."

More will probably be uploaded tomorrow, if I have time; it's election day and my parents are coming here, plus I have to prepare some stuff for Monday. But I'll try!
