As Snow White was wanted in every realm in the Enchanted Forest they needed to find a way to get to the Evil Queen's castle without her being noticed. To Killian's surprise, not even Charming objected when he suggested they steal ("borrow") a cart and some horses from a nearby farm. Apparently he was not a complete goody-two-shoes, yet.

As they journeyed through the forest it started to rain; no more than a slight drizzle but still enough to make the cart wetter and wetter by the minute. The road was uneven and from his position in the driver's seat Killian could hear Snow White grunt in discomfort every time they hit a stone or a root.

"Apologies, lass", he called over his shoulder. Right behind his back Charming chuckled, apparently finding the bandit's discomfort greatly amusing. Another thing Killian had never thought would apply to the Prince.

"You're really enjoying this, aren't you, Charming?" Snow White spat out.

"It's not my fault your face is plastered on every tree in the forest", Charming replied, a carefree tone in his voice. Killian was really beginning to enjoy the company of this younger version of Emma's father.

"What's that around your neck?" Charming suddenly asked. "I thought you weren't the jewellery type."

"Don't worry about it", Snow White replied. A scuffle in the cart caused Killian to look back; Charming had risen from his seat and grabbed a small vial that had been hanging from Snow White's neck. She now desperately tried to get it back.

"Careful!" she exclaimed, causing Charming to chuckle again as he examined the contents of the vial. He held it up in the air, allowing the faint light to hit the dark grey dust inside it.

"That's a weapon", Snow clarified. Killian made sure the horses continued in the right direction before turning to look at the object again.

"Dust?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Fairy dust", Snow White corrected, "from a Dark Fairy. It transforms the most fearsome adversaries into a form that's easily squashed."

She took the vial back from charming and refastened its leather strap around her neck.

"I'm saving it for a special someone", she finished.

"The Queen?" Charming guessed.

"Those charges on her posters are lies", Snow White pointed out. "It didn't stop her from trying to kill me. That's why I'm trying to get out of this kingdom; that's why I tried to steal from you. To secure passage on a pirate ship."

Killian turned his attention back to the road, hoping that his disguised self's facial expressions had not betrayed that he already knew this part of the story. He could see the silhouette of the Queen's castle in the distance and knew that their carriage ride would soon be over.

"What did you do to incur the Queen's wrath?" Charming asked. Gone was the carefree tone in his voice; now he sounded concerned, kind and gentle. Much more like how he sounded in the time that Killian came from.

"She blames me for ruining her life", Snow replied.

"Did you?"

Snow was silent for a while before she responded.

"Yes."

"We're here!" Killian called back and pulled the horses to a halt. They were almost at the edge of the forest and the Evil Queen's black castle loomed in front of them.

"We're going to need help to get past the guards", Snow White said. "Wait here."

She pulled up her hood and climbed out of the cart.

"We go at night", she said once she landed on the ground. "I'll be back with help."

She then took off in the direction of the castle.

"Captain!"

Killian had to force himself not to curse out loud when the familiar voice showed up in his head.

"Wolf, where the hell have you been?" he asked while jumping down from the cart.

"That's a very long and boring story", Wolfgang replied. "The telepathic network has almost stopped working, for some reason, so I'm not sure how long I can be here. Where's Emma?"

"Captured by the Evil Queen", Killian responded. "Is Clarissa with her?"

"I don't know; I went through first", Wolfgang replied. "But we've got another problem as well; Rachel's missing."

"Why does this work for Wolf and not for me?" Clarissa exclaimed and slammed on her door, which still refused to open up for her. The rest of the group had stepped back to the screens, all of them showing static and nothing more. Not even the one that should have shown what Hook was seeing worked.

"This doesn't make any sense", Ella said. "Why would Ollivander send us back to a faulty control room?"

"Maybe he didn't know it was faulty", Tessa suggested.

"How could he not?" Jade asked. "It's his creation, isn't it?"

"No, wait", Toby said, "Tessa's right."

"What?" Filipi asked with a frown. Toby walked over to the screens and, once again, tried to make them show something else but static.

"I think", he said while working, "that Ollivander did not realize that us physically going back in time would change things and that, in turn, has caused this place to malfunction."

"That still doesn't explain why Wolfgang could get through to Hook", Clarissa muttered and kicked her door.

"True", Toby agreed. "It's a deduction in progress. However, this might also explain why Rachel's gone."

"How?" Chris asked. Toby looked up from the screens.

"She danced with Charming at the ball and he seemed to recognize her, despite never having met her. Maybe that was enough to cause time to go into a state of flux."

Night slowly fell and a full moon rose up into the sky, shining its pale white light down into the small clearing where Killian and Charming had built a small bonfire. Killian poked around among the burning logs with his sword, then glanced up at Charming. The Prince stared silently into the flames, distant and gloomy.

"So", Killian said, waking him from his thoughts, "you excited for your upcoming nuptials?"

"I'm marrying Midas' daughter", Charming replied. "What's not to be excited about?"

He forced a strained smile, which even a blind man would have been able to see through. Killian shook his head.

"I don't mean to pry, mate", he said, "but you don't exactly look like a man who's doing this by choice."

Charming huffed.

"That's the second person in two days that's pointed that out", he sighed. "I always thought I'd marry for love. And here I am about to enter into what amounts to a... business transaction. A merger of two kingdoms."

He chuckled mirthlessly.

"I don't know. This whole ordeal makes me wonder if there's even such a thing as true love."

Killian had to concentrate hard on not gaping at what the Prince had just said.

"I", he begun, then cleared his throat, "I once felt as you did, mate. All it took was meeting the right person and everything changed."

"Princess Leia, the one we're rescuing?" Charming asked. Killian nodded.

"Aye. I'd go to the end of the world for her. Or time."

"And she for you, I take it?"

Killian sighed and shook his head.

"I don't know", he admitted. Charming frowned and folded his arms.

"What's the problem?" he asked.

"There are many complications", Killian admitted. The corner of Charming's mouth pulled up in a lopsided smile.

"Family? Because my father is making things quite difficult for me."

"Aye, there's that", Killian agreed and nodded. "I'm not so sure her parents approve of me."

Charming looked at him as if he had gone mad.

"Mate, given the length you've gone through to save her, they'd be crazy not to."

Killian could not help but laugh at the bizarreness of the situation; he was discussing the prospect of not being accepted by the family with the family in question but they had no idea that they were because to them none of that had happened yet.

"I hope you remember that", he mused, causing Charming to give him a surprised look.

Before he could ask Killian anything about it, though, they both saw a shadow moving among the trees.

"What the hell was that?" Charming hissed and rose, drawing his sword. Killian followed in the same manner, watching as the shadow seemed to move closer.

"I think we're about to find out."

As one they stepped forward, swords at the ready, and pointed them at the woman that seemingly had appeared out of nowhere. Killian blinked in surprise; she was dressed like a farmer and carried a basket of food, but she also wore an intricately made, bright red cloak, its hood pulled up over her head.

"Hey!" Charming called. "Who the hell are you?"

The woman seemed unfazed by their swords and simply placed her basket down on the ground.

"Name's Red", she said. "I'm a friend of Snow's. She sent me to help get you into the castle."

"How?" Killian asked as the woman pulled back her hood. He recognized her; she was the waitress from Granny's back in Storybrooke. Now she gave him a cocky smile and untied her cloak.

"You'll see", she said and dropped the red object to the ground. The next moment she crouched down on all four and, suddenly, the woman who had come by was gone. In her stead stood a big, grey wolf.
