Hamptons' Fourth
The time between their time in Barbados and the Fourth of July had come to pass. Castle and Beckett headed up to The Hamptons with the kids with them a few days before the holiday weekend. Alexis and Jake would be heading up today as was Martha and Jim. Ryan, Jenny, Sarah Grace and Espo would make their way to The Hamptons the next day when Lanie was able to get off of work.
Supplies for the barbeque were being brought in by Alexis and Jake while in true Martha fashion; Martha had the alcohol for the adults with her.
While the rest of the family was on their way to the house; Beckett called her mother in law.
"You guys were able to get everything that was need for the barbeque?" Beckett asked.
"Yes darling; Alexis and Jake picked it up last night."
"And you got what was needed as far as drinks?"
"Yes; I got the alcohol for those of us who can and I got soda for the three musketeers who can't."
Beckett knew who her mother in law was referring to when she said the three musketeers.
"Okay; thank you, Martha."
"Your welcome; Katherine."
"See you in a bit."
"See you soon; darling."
The hours that lead up to the Fourth of July holiday had passed by just as quickly as the time between Father's Day and the Fourth of July had. All the guests had arrived and the barbeque was fully underway.
Jim was barbequing while his son in law and daughter mingled with their guests. Alexis and Jake had volunteered to take all five kids down to the beach. Everyone was having a good time so the barbeque was a success.
As expected the holiday ended with an amazing fireworks show and five young children falling asleep in their loved ones' arms.
At one point while Jim held one of his sleeping grandsons; he looked over to where his daughter was sitting with her husband. It was nice to see his daughter so happy. The only thing that would make it better was if his late wife was there with them. Jim knew that Johanna would be head over heels for their grandkids. He also knew that his late wife would just as happy for their daughter as he was.
Once the fireworks were over; Castle and Beckett got help bringing their kids to bed from Jim and Martha. Lanie, Espo, Ryan and Ryan's family returned to the city. Alexis and Jake turned in for the night as well.
