A/N: Ok so we are all on the same page. This chapter will feature appearances by the Mystic Gang but the scenario is, Damon/Bonnie where permanently stuck in the Other Side (TVD 5x24) so that's a given, the rest of the gang crossed-over as a result of the 'killing' of the Originals. Hence, Stefan, Elena, Enzo are on the Other Side. Tyler was turned back to non-hybrid and for this story he has yet to trigger the wolf gene again, hence he did not cross-over.

I think this is the longest chapter so far, bare with me.

ORIGINAL SIN

Chapter 19

It's the day before the full moon and the Other Side was bursting with activity most of which were centered on the Originals, Elijah, Kol, Rebekah, Finn and Klaus. The witches and other supernatural beings have been seeking audiences with the Originals collectively or individually to strike an accord as part of the deal before the Originals would once again be shipped to the Mortal world.

Elijah had been meeting with Ayanna and leaders of the witch families while his siblings have been busy 'selecting' worthy vampires who would be permitted to cross-over with them, all but Klaus who was alternating his time with werewolf clan leaders who had each wanted audience with him. Elijah had taken the lieutenant role to Klaus' role as head to have the leader's of all supernatural beings present tonight for a covenant to be signed with the Originals. Ayanna had been appointed as overseer of the covenant for the Other Side with still unnamed co-chairs, a vampire and a werewolf. The triad of supernatural beings where to be classified as elders and were tasked to ensure that the Other Side would never again be vulnerable to imbalance.

Elijah and Klaus had talked about who would be the ideal candidates for the vampire and werewolf supreme leaders. The obvious choice for werewolf leader was Ulric, Klaus' Father, but since he was in the mortal realm and his fate still undetermined, should Ulric remain in the mortal world then he wouldn't be able to take on the task of werewolf ultimate clan leader so the natural hierarchy order went to Ulric's son and as it turns out Klaus' half-brother Ralph who was killed by Mikael as he rampaged through the clan seeking justice after he found out Esther's betrayal and who Niklaus' real father was.

Ralph it turned out looked a bit more like Klaus than any of his half-brothers from his mother side. Ralph's understated strength was his ability to command a room of werewolves with just a look, clearly he was as respected as Ulric was in this world. An excellent choice as werewolf leader.

Klaus and Ralph had many opportunities to converse during the last few days Klaus had been in this realm. While it was Ralph who had to seek him out, a promise Ralph had made to his Father if this would happen. It was Klaus who reveled in the many talks the half-brothers had been having. Klaus had always been lacking any history about his werewolf side and his werewolf family, having solely been with his vampire family side for more than a thousand years. While Klaus had encountered several werewolf clans throughout his existence, he had never really identified with any of them before until the half-crescent clan. His identifiable affinity to the clan and the pull he first felt when a few months back he had learned about Clay and his werewolf bloodline family was the driving force for him to be hungry for information about his werewolf-side family. He had unabashedly asked information about Ulric since he had never really had a conversation with his Father. Ulric jump to the Mortal realm and Klaus' 'death' to the Other Side ensured the father and son did not have that prospect.

Ralph's demeanor reminded Klaus a lot of Elijah, like Elijah after all, Ralph was his older brother by a few years. He was an only child to Ulric that was until the affair and he as the product of the affair of course. Ralph had told him that he had a lot of family, cousins, Uncles, Aunts, the clan was considered as the 'royal' werewolf clan. So that made Klaus a royal on both sides, a true King of the Supernatural worlds.

Elijah has eyed Ralph with suspicion in the beginning and what Klaus assessed to be a little bit of jealousy on Elijah's part. But Elijah had eventually understood the thirst and hungry of Klaus to learn about his other half. It was that half after all that was the crux of how Klaus had always felt he was alone and different no matter how Elijah and his siblings had tried to assure him otherwise.

Elijah had the chance to converse with Ralph himself a couple of times had begrudgingly began to like to werewolf. Ralph had after all taken Klaus immediately under his wing and organized a clan gathering to introduce his half-brother to his werewolf family who where all residents of the Other Side. Elijah was impressed by the clan that was something the werewolf clans had over the vampires and witch covens for that matter. The clans had the family dynamic really mastered. Elijah could see the Klaus was a little overwhelmed by the show of love that was showered upon him. The desire to meet and get to know Klaus was not blanketed with hidden agendas which was what Elijah and his siblings were used too, everyone always wanted something from them. He could see the desire to meet Klaus was genuine, a clan welcoming a lost son into their fold, a homecoming.

And the emotion Klaus was feeling was registering openly in his expression, he had let his guard down. Elijah was happy for Klaus. He was even happier he got to witness Klaus accepted and be welcomed by his 'other' family, as Klaus and Ralph both insisted that Elijah be by Klaus' side for the gathering. He wished his other siblings could see what he could see with his own eyes, Elijah was sure that the Klaus who crossed-over to the Other Side and the Klaus who would come back would be very different. Not only because of the pact they had made as Mikaelson's together, but more than that Klaus' journey to the Other Side provided him the occasion to find what he was looking for, a part of him that had been missing.

Elijah had been standing on the sidelines of the gathering but had been keeping an eye on Klaus as any big brother would do. He sensed Ralph by his side and nodded his head in acknowledgement. Ralph was looking at Klaus as he spoke, "he is quite a handful, that one." Elijah noticed the unconscious smile Ralph had on his face as he looked on.

Elijah agreed, "that he is, that he is."

Ralph sighed, "it's tragic really, I never knew I had a brother. Not until the day Mikael came into our village and killed us all. The anger rolling from your Father that day, I could never get out of my mind. He was hollering my Fathers' name in the middle of the camp, unafraid that he was outnumbered. I saw my Father die right before my eyes in the hands of yours, I could quite understand what it was about until a sword plunged my Fathers' heart and Mikael screamed a name, Niklaus. Before my Father died, he had a few seconds to look around and saw me, his last words to me were, 'Niklaus is your brother'. A brother that I never knew about until that day. A brother who caused the murder of almost the entire clan."

Elijah turned to face Ralph, "it wasn't Niklaus' fault."

Ralph smiled, and familiar dimples appeared, "look around you. No one is blaming Niklaus. Every there is celebration, a welcome for a lost son. We all know it wasn't his fault."

Elijah sighed, "maybe Niklaus would have benefited from knowing his other family a longtime ago. He had always felt something missing, something lacking. He never belonged."

Ralph patted Elijah on the back, "do not think that you have failed him. I have seen how my brother looks up to you, it is a relationship I am envious of. But then between the two of us, I think we can keep him in check."

Elijah looked at Ralph then back at Klaus, "he will need you. You will have to promise me that you will look in on him from this side."

Ralph smirked, "do not expect anything less. Besides, there is a rumor that our brother is going to be a Father soon. A new generation will be born. His mate is as I understand a hybrid like him as well?"

Elijah smiled, "a tri-brid actually, little brother has left out the detail that his mate is a vampire-witch-werewolf and pregnant. An event that has never had a precedent in the supernatural world."

Ralph laughed heartily, "well he is King after all, only he can get away with unprecedented events. But to me he will always be my little brother, take care of him," Ralph looked at Elijah solemnly.

Elijah reached out his hand to Ralph for a handshake, "I promise I will."

Klaus took that exact moment to turn and capture the handshake between his two elder half-brothers. He shook his head already guessing that he was the topic of discussion and his brothers had reached some kind of accord about him. He resisted the urge to roll his eyes and be exasperated but in his mind he said 'older brothers always think they know what's best for you.'

Rebekah and Kol had been nitpicking with some vampires when they heard a familiar voice.

"Well, never thought I would see you here, but then again you guys are the reason every single vampire is on the Other Side," Stefan said as he paused to take in the visual in front of him, Rebekah and Kol in throne like chairs and vampires all around them, most kneeling in reverence to the Originals.

"Stefan Salvatore, I was wondering if I would see you," Rebekah countered.

"Wonder no more sister, the Mystic Falls gang has finally come to pay the royal family a visit and I am sure they have prepared a long speech as to why they would be amongst the chosen few to be brought back," Kol rejoined.

Stefan raised a brow, "word has gotten around that only a handful of us will be allowed back under the," making air quotes, "fresh start for vampires creating a new a better breed mantra."

Kol smirked, "and you and your gang of misfits would like to state your case." Standing up from his throne, Kol pointed to each one of the gang, "let me see, the doppelganger Elena, the doppelganger Katerina Petrova, both of you I don't know," referring to Enzo and Nadia, "and where is the other Salvatore? Hard to believe he left you with the two doppelgangers and left none for himself."

Elena looked at Stefan, "Damon and Bonnie are here somewhere, we just haven't found them yet."

Rebekah smirked this time, "am I getting this right, Damon is now with Bonnie. Finally abandoned you?"

Stefan rolled his eyes, "Damon and Bonnie crossed-over before we did, nothing to do with your deaths. Not everything is always about you."

Kol continued, "so the Bennett witch is here, quite an unexpected surprise."

"So state your case Salvatore, why should you or any of your gang be counted among the lucky few?" Rebekah raised her brow.

Stefan frowned, "we are not here to defend anything, or at least not at the moment, we are just looking for Damon and Bonnie."

Katerina pushed Stefan aside, "well he doesn't really speak for me. I for one am the most worthy to cross-over if I say so myself. After all, I have single-handedly brought so much joy to your lives, I'm sure your brothers can attest to that. In fact, I believe I has Elijah's vote. Oh, and before I forget, I will be bringing along my long lost daughter, Nadia Petrova with me back. Come here daughter, so yourself to the Originals."

"Not so fast doppelganger, I have the unfortunate experience of knowing these," referring to the gang pathetic excuses for vampires, but don't be deceived. I am much more than any of them. I have the accent to prove it, ayy mates, give a brother a break." Enzo said pointing to Kol, "I think you and I brother will be best friends, and you gorgeous," eying Rebekah up and down, "will give the lovely Caroline Forbes a run for her money. Where is Ms. Forbes by the way, shouldn't she be here somewhere?"

Kol laughed heartily, "I take it Caroline Forbes has finally wised up and has rid of you all pathetic losers. Haven't you heard?"

Rebekah quietly scolded her brother, "brother dear, it's best that we don't bother with these ones. I don't think Niklaus would really consider any of them, well maybe broody over there," referring to Stefan.

Elena's interest was piqued, "wait have you heard from Caroline? Am sure Klaus has her lined-up for the cross-over still obsessed with her. He after all sent Elijah all the way to Mystic Falls just to get her."

Rebekah raised a brow, "well you will never know, now go away. My brother and I are quite busy with interviews over here."

Stefan frowned, "where are Klaus and Elijah for the matter?"

Kol quipped, "where they are is no concern of yours. Now leave."

Elena rolled her eyes, "gladly!"

Katerina stood her ground, "well I for one am staying here. I will wait for Elijah." Grabbing Nadia's arm for her to stay as well.

Enzo stood beside Katerina, "I will stay as well."

Elijah and Klaus where walking back from the wolf gathering to meet up with Ayanna once again. As they slowly sauntered Klaus turned to his brother, "I'm thinking the supernatural elder triad for this side should be Ayanna, obviously to represent the witches, Ralph in the absence of Ulric for the werewolves and maybe Finn for the vampires? But, I wanted to sway Ayanna and the others to let Finn cross-over with us."

Elijah paused and look at his brother, "yes, I was thinking the same thing. It would be the best opportunity for us to have our entire family back together. Finn deserves a second chance too. I just hope that would be possible."

Klaus patted his brothers back, "well if there is someone who could make that happen, it would be you brother. I have every faith in your persuasion skills."

Esther, Ulric and Caroline were having dinner with representatives from the supernatural world in there realm. All the beings have agreed to sign an accord which was to be the covenant for how the supernatural world would co-exist from thereon. It was surprisingly easy to, well in Caroline's opinion, for all the diverse beings to reach a compromise so easily. Maybe the events of the last few days have proven that they all had to work together to ensure something like this never happened again. No one being was powerful enough to tilt the balance once again.

It helped that Esther and Ulric's reputations and communities have all unquestioningly left it to the two to act on their behalf. It was however still daunting that from time to time, Caroline's opinion was always inquired. That her voice was valued and respected.

So here they were just three hours after, signing with blood the covenant and celebrating the event with an almost rowdy atmosphere. Count on the wolves to be the party animals in the absence of the vampires. Caroline herself had sought every opportunity to learn more about the wolves. Her child was to be a third wolf if the child had the gene so she was preparing herself for the eventuality. Ulric much like Esther had been a godsend. Caroline wished not for the first time that Klaus had been given the chance to get to know his real Father who was a hundred fold better than Mikael.

Ulric looked and acted every bit the royal he was. She had found out the Klaus' werewolf clan was considered the royal family of the wolf clans. No wonder he acted the way he did, he was a full-blooded royal on both sides. Caroline was sure that if Klaus was present, his ego would be the size of Texas.

Caroline was sitting quietly enjoying the celebration around her which was anything but a normal human party experience. Her limited exposure in Mystic Falls to the supernatural community was a far cry from what was a common occurrence now. She fleetingly thought about her friends in Mystic Falls. With the demise of the Originals she was certain all her supernatural friends had also crossed over to the Other Side. Her life in Mystic Falls seemed so long ago and so far into the past. Truth be told, there were moments were she regretted she had waited as long as she did before she finally succumbed to the allure that was Niklaus Mikaelson.

Her friends were so much removed from her at this point that she accepted that she would probably have very little in common with them now. Not only had they questioned her reasons for choosing to be with Klaus, if they find out she was actually pregnant with Klaus' child they would probably disown her again. Elena and Caroline had grown so far apart that in hindsight Caroline realized it was partly her fault for allowing herself to always play second fiddle to Elena. True she missed Stefan, he was her BFF after all, never judged her. She would love to see Stefan, Damon not so much. But then she had long accepted that Elena and Damon were an eventuality and were endgame and they probably deserved one another.

Bonnie Bennett her other best friend she did miss. Sure Bonnie was also judgey as Damon had put it. But Bonnie was always the counter balance to Elena, she honestly missed Bonnie. Now Tyler, she was definitely done with him. Over and done with.

She unconsciously touched her belly, stroking it slowly. She missed her Mom. Liz Forbes would still be in Mystic Falls, she was human after all. After tomorrow, she would ask Klaus to have someone check on her Mother. Maybe she would call her and ask her to come to New Orleans. There was no way she would be going back to Mystic Falls. Sure Esther was here, as it turned out first impressions aren't always lasting impressions. Esther turned out to be a better Mother than she expected. She had been there for Caroline as Ulric had been. But she still missed her Mother, yes, she would call Liz Forbes very soon. Now how her Mother would react to her very dead daughter being an Original and pregnant, she was sure her Mother would get the shock of her life.

Caroline glanced around once again and smiled as she noticed Esther and Ulric dancing near the camp fire. They really were very much in love. Caroline smiled, she could see Klaus and herself in the way Klaus' parents acted around each other. There was no doubt in her mind, Ulric was a positive influence on Esther. They brought out the best in each other compared to Mikael who brought out the worst in everyone.

On the Other Side the same covenant was being finalized. The Originals in full force with Ayanna and several witches, Ralph and several clan leaders along with other supernatural beings all gathered in along table having what looked like a last supper gathering. And it was for the Originals who the day after were too cross-over during the full moon.

Elijah true to Klaus' prediction was able to convince the leaders to have Finn cross-over with them as a sign of goodwill on the condition that Finn would be allowed to cross-over with only Sage which was perfectly fine with him. Finn had always been a behaved vampire compared to his siblings so it did not take much convincing.

Rebekah and Kol had both informed Elijah and Klaus that they had completed their draft picks so to speak for which vampires to bring back. They had also informed both him and Elijah that they had encountered Stefan, Elena, Katerina and two other unfamiliar vampires one of which was apparently Katerina's daughter but have not seen Damon or Bonnie, Damon understandingly would also be in the same realm but the Bennett witch was a surprise.

Elijah showed that he was definitely not over his love for his Katerina as he has lobbied for Katerina to be among the vampires Klaus brought back from his bloodline. Katherine was after all turned by Rose from his bloodline. How could Klaus deny his brother his love, when he had his. So he had decided on eight vampires including Katerina and Marcel. Two slots left, he pondered if Stefan would plead his case with him. He knew Caroline would want him to bring Stefan back. With only two slots left, Klaus couldn't bring back the whole Mystic gang, if he counted correctly two Salvatore brothers, the Gilbert doppelganger, the hybrid Tyler, well definitely not him, he was sure Caroline would understand why. Elijah had been pushing for Nadia to be included in the line but after they traced Nadia's bloodline, it turned out it was someone from Elijah's bloodline who had turned Nadia. Marcel was also lobbying for Diego and Thierry to be included. When normally he would revel in the role of judge and jury who decided who lived or died, this was taking a toll on him, he was torn between who his siblings, Marcel or even Caroline would want to be part of who would cross-over. He was never a people pleaser, but in this instance he wanted to give those closest to him the chance to convince him who to select.

Compromise and conciliation, these were unfamiliar territory to him who ruled based on whim and temper. He was discovering a new side of himself. His brother had told him he was finally growing up, maturing. But he was just following Caroline or even Elijah's lead. It was humbling for him to accept that there were those who were better leaders than him even if he was the rightful leader and ruler by birth and circumstance.

That same night Stefan and Elena finally located Damon and Bonnie through the help of one of the witches who sensed Bonnie's location. "Brother, finally, if both of you are here then what we have heard is all real," Damon said by way of a greeting.

"Every single vampire, all of us are here back on the Other Side. The Originals, all of them are all here hence the reason we are all here," Stefan explained to his brother.

"Well, so I was just a welcoming party then. Me and judgey here," Damon rejoined.

"Is that all your going to say Damon. After all I have been through. If this hadn't happened I would have ever seen you again," Elena simpered.

Damon stepped forward to grasp Elena's shoulders, "and I would do it again and again in a heartbeat. Exchange my pitiful existence for yours if it meant you could live."

Elena whined, "don't you get it by now. I would rather be dead-dead with you wherever than alive somewhere without you."

Damon embraced Elena, "like is said before, you and me, we are toxic together."

Elena tried to brush her tears away, "well I would rather be toxic with you than well, non-toxic with anyone else."

Bonnie looked at Stefan who was just staring at Damon and Elena, his face bank. Bonnie nudged Stefan, "where have you been all this time."

Stefan shrugged, "around, we have been searching for you. We ran into Rebekah and Kol a while ago, Katerina, Nadia and Enzo chose to stay behind, undoubtedly trying to influence the Originals to count them among those who they would allow to cross-over back."

Damon shook his head, "so the Originals, big bad and his siblings get to chose whom would be permitted back? Well, I guess I'm stuck here forever then."

Bonnie tilted her head, "did you guys see Care? I mean, should she be somewhere here too?"

Elena shrugged, "Stefan asked about Care, but Rebekah and Kol were just cryptic about her whereabouts."

Damon rolled his eyes, "well I'm sure Barbie would be one of the first to be permitted to cross-over, I assume Ken is still obsessed with her?"

Stefan nodded, "from what I gathered. Since Klaus is the head of our bloodline, he gets to decide who he wants to bring back from his line but he only has a few slots."

Damon scoffed, "well then Stefan, you have a chance, you're like his brother from another mother. Me and Elena, not so much unless we have Barbie pleading our case. So our next to do would be to find Barbie."

Stefan frowned, "we have to hurry then because the full moon is tomorrow, the day of the cross-over." Stefan looked at Bonnie and immediately concluded correctly what her thought were, "Bonnie, we will find a way for you to cross-over too. Maybe we can find your ancestors. I know they would help."

Bonnie bobbed her head, "I have to find Grams or maybe Ayanna."

It was almost sunset when Stefan, Damon, Elena and Bonnie finally located the Originals. The clearing was divided into the outer and inner sections with the Originals and a few beings, a mix of witches, werewolves and a few vampires located. At the center looked like a ritual set-up and a coven of witches. Bonnie immediately spotted her Grams who was talking to a group of witches. She tried to trod down toward the clearing but was stopped by an invisible shield. She shouted her Grams name several time before her Grams finally heard her above the noise by turning toward the sound. She saw her Grams eyes widen before she whispered a few words to the woman beside her who nodded, momentarily looking her way before turning back to the others in the circle.

Her Grams took a full minute to get to her, "child I was expecting you earlier."

Bonnie tried to step forward again but was once again blocked by the barrier. Damon took the opportunity to inform Bonnie's Grams of the situation, "why don't you be a good grandma and lift the barrier so we can all go inside the clearing."

Grams eyed Damon Salvatore, "Mr. Salvatore, I don't think you are in any position to bargain. Something huge is going to happen tonight from where you stand, I don't think you are a part of it."

Bonnie glared at Damon to shut up, "Grams, we know. We just got here. We need to talk to Klaus. Well they need to talk to Klaus. I need to talk to you."

Grams shook her head, "it's too late for your friends. You my child, I will talk to the other witches and see what we can do about you."

Damon started to throw a tantrum, "so you're not really going to let us in. Your own grand daughter you will not let pass?"

Grams lifted her brow, "do not use my grand daughter against me, Mr. Salvatore."

"Sheila what is going on here?" She heard Elijah ask from behind her. And as she looked back, she noticed that Klaus, Rebekah, Kol and Finn had all joined Elijah.

"As you can see for yourself the Salvatores have arrived together with Elena Gilbert and my grand daughter."

"Stefan, I expected to see you earlier," Klaus implored ignoring Damon and Elena.

"As I informed Rebekah and Kol, we were focused on finding Damon and Bonnie," Stefan replied.

"As I can see, you have found one another, why pray tell are you here now?" Klaus asked.

Damon moved forward, "we have it on good authority that you have the almighty power to bring us back to the mortal world. No sense biting around the bush and just go straight to the point, time is ticking."

Kol interjected, "did you really expect that we would include you in our short list?"

Damon smirked, "well I didn't really, but you don't matter, it his Ken who decides anyway. By the way where is Barbie. Maybe she is the one we should be talking to?"

Klaus' expression noticeably hardened and his siblings saw this. Elijah took it upon himself to step forward to prevent anything untoward happening, "Mr. Salvatore, the last time we talked I had already told you that you have quite an annoying habit of appointing yourself as leader of your gang of misfits. If you are about to use your friend Ms. Forbes as leverage so that you would be given a free ride back to the other realm that you are sorely mistaken."

Stefan stepped in front of his brother, "Elijah, I'm sure my brother had no intention to use Caroline to influence your brothers' decision. Just like me he's just curious as to where Care is. We are after all her friends."

Kol scoffed, "some friends you are."

Elena lifted a brow, "what is that suppose to mean?"

Rebekah stood in front of Elena, just within the barrier, "did you even try to find her or where you too focused on finding your Salvatore?"

Bonnie and Elena together with Stefan all had guilty expressions on their faces but Elena tried to play of the oversight, "of course we did, she is our friend after all."

Elijah shook his head, "somehow, I do not really believe that quite to be true. You remember you are on the Other Side, there is always someone watching, eyes and ears all over this place."

Damon brushed Elena aside as he tried to get in Elijah's face, "so you lot," referring to the Originals, "are suddenly her best friends? I can understand Ken over there, he's obsessed with Barbie, but all of you, really. She wasn't really that tasty."

Stefan smacked his brother, "quit while you're ahead Damon."

Bonnie glared at Damon while Elena just took Damon's hand to pull him away from Elijah. The reactions of the four 'friends' of Caroline were all noted by the Originals. After a pause Klaus finally stepped forward "Sheila, it's almost time, we just have a few minutes to spare before we have to start the ritual. I suggest you go and assist Ayanna. But before you do, I think Caroline would appreciate seeing Bonnie once this is all over. Tell Ayanna, my siblings and I suggest that we find a way to bring Ms. Bennett back and restore her powers, they might come in handy in the future," sending Sheila a silent message on the meaning of giving Bonnie her powers back. Sheila picked up immediately that they may need Bonnie to assist with Caroline's delicate situation in the future, she nodded and after a last look goodbye stepped away from the barrier and toward the coven of witches near the ritual site.

Kol stepped in front of Bonnie, "Bonnie love, stay put, you will get word of what can be done for you in awhile. You are not a vampire so we can't help you ourselves, tipping the balance and all that."

Bonnie quirked her eyebrow at Kol then glanced at Elijah and finally Klaus, "thank you, I appreciate what you are trying to do."

Klaus smirked, "don't thank us yet. Leave the thanking for when you cross-over."

Damon scoffed, "ok fine, what do you want. You want us to beg, down on our knees so you could really feel almighty and superior, is that it?"

Klaus just shook his head, "Salvatore, I am very much aware of what you did to Caroline when she was still human, so are my siblings. But I am not even using that past to cloud my judgment as far as you are concerned, whether or not you earned the right to be given the opportunity to cross-over. You see, I have turned a lot of humans into vampires so I had the most soul searching to do in choosing who would be traveling with me to cross-over. Believe me when I say, not just for Caroline's sake, I have tried to be very objective about this."

Rebekah interjected, "I vote no!"

Kol grinned, "you have my vote, No."

Elijah looked at Klaus, "you know my opinion on the matter brother."

Klaus looked at Stefan, "as it turns out I have a last slot yet to be awarded a deserving minion, I have my preferences obviously. I think it's fair of me that at least one other friend of Caroline is able to cross-over aside from Ms. Bennett. You cannot ask anymore from me and I of course do not expect gratitude from you. But I will let you three talk amongst yourselves and decide. Five minutes is all you will have. If you don't make a decision during the next five minutes then we all cross-over with one less vampire in tow."

Grams had come back to call on all the Originals, after one last glance at Stefan, Klaus followed his siblings but he was stopped by Sheila Bennett. Sheila and Klaus were in deep conversation and Bonnie could see Klaus nodding his head from time to time before he glanced back at Bonnie with a salute then made his way to where all his other siblings where.

Bonnie could hear Damon, Elena and Stefan arguing to her right but was not listening as her attention was focused on her Grams who slowly moved back in front of her. When her Grams was finally in front of her she gave a bright smile, "child come touch my hands."

Bonnie was momentarily confused, earlier when they tried to move forward a barrier had stopped their progress, now her Grams was telling her to grabbed her hands. After a few seconds, she did what her Grams said and was surprised to touch skin. Sheila used the movement of Bonnie to touch her hands as momentum for her to pull Bonnie forward and to the other side of the barrier. It took a few seconds before Bonnie realized that she was indeed on the other side of the barrier as she ended up looking back at where Damon, Stefan and Elena where all located.

Elena was the first to notice, "Bonnie, what the hell."

Damon let out a sarcastic laugh, "so this is how it's going to be."

Bonnie looked at her Grams, "Grams, I just can't leave my friends here."

Grams gently cupped Bonnie's cheek, "Bonnie, you still have work to do. Much is still expected of you. Your other friend will need you."

Bonnie frowned, "Caroline?"

Grams nodded slowly, "yes, that one. That one, she had a destiny to fulfill."

Bonnie started to tear up, "but Grams, I just can't leave my friends here."

Stefan finally stepped away from his brother and Elena and toward Bonnie from the other side of the barrier, "go Bonnie. We will be fine here. We will find away. Your Grams is right, Caroline will need at least one of us. We have not been the good friends to her lately. I'm sure she misses you." Stefan turned to Elena, "you should take the last slot Elena, its right that you get to go back. My brother and I, we have lived longer than you. If there is a way back, I'm sure Bonnie will find a way."

Elena protested, "no! I am not leaving without Damon. Never again. I didn't want to the first time and I don't want to now. Stefan, you should take the slot, Damon and I will be fine. I want you to take it, it can be a fresh start for you."

Stefan looked at Damon who was looking at Elena, "brother?" Stefan asked Damon.

Damon looked at Stefan briefly then back to Elena, "Stefan is right. If you really love me, you will do this for me. Go back, cross-over, live a full-vampire life."

Elena was shaking her head, "No, no, no…..don't make me do this," while continuing to whimper.

Grams took Bonnie's hand, "it's time Bonnie, we have to go." Looking back at the three on the other side of the barrier, "so which one will it be?"

Esther, Ulric and Caroline where at the designated cross-over site at the woods near the bayou. Caroline had been restless for the last hour anticipating that something would go wrong and she wouldn't be reunited with her Nik and his siblings. Esther had been by her side so she wouldn't be more agitated, complicating her pregnancy.

When finally the witches had signaled for Esther to come forward so they could begin the ritual from their end, Ulric took his place beside Caroline who where both just a few steps from the witches who would be doing the chant for the ritual.

On the Other Side, the witches where all positioned to commence the chant. Ayanna took her place and with a slight nod to Klaus gave the signal to start the chant. Klaus quickly sought Ralph for a quick embrace before he took his position beside his siblings who had all sliced their hands to let blood drip into a giant chalice. Elijah passed Klaus the dagger and Klaus did the same to his hand. Around the giant chalice, Finn, Kol, Rebekah, Elijah and Klaus gathered and they felt the power of the chant of the witches who formed an outer circle around them.

A few steps away, the congregation of chosen vampires stood waiting for their cue to cross-over to the Other Side. As the winds howled and the darkness set in with only the full moon and the bonfire as lighting, Ayanna's words could be heard, "it's time, Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah, Kol, Finn you may cross-over now. Everyone else will follow after."

Caroline grasped and Ulric's attention was diverted to her for a second before she directed him by pointing to a site to the right where blurry figures were started to take form. Caroline unconsciously squeezed Ulric's arm as she finally spotted Klaus' form at the same time Klaus spotted her. Between the two of them it took a second as Caroline moved at supernatural speed to wrap her arms around Klaus.

Klaus embraced Caroline in his arms welcoming the sensation of feeling like his whole world was wrapped around the circle of his arms. He captured her lips seconds later that told her exactly what he was feeling. The crossing over of his siblings went unnoticed as Caroline and Klaus just let the world continue to shape around them without a care.

Since Esther was still chanting, the siblings just stood to one side. Ulric approached Elijah to give him a handshake which Elijah returned warmly. Elijah's other siblings chose to watch the cross-over of the other vampires as Rebekah and Kol started to organize the vampires. As the last of the vampires had cross-over and the witches were winding down their chants, a lone figure walked past and paused midway before completely crossing-over taking in the sight of the coven of witches. After a few seconds the figure finally fully crossed-over and walking slowly until she spotted her best friend, "Caroline!" the girl tried to call the attention of her friend who was still locked in a loving embrace with Klaus. The girl was a little shocked to see her friend and Klaus together remarking in her mind, "wow I sure missed a lot."

Finally the girl saw a familiar figure who had crossed over earlier saunter toward her and she took the last few steps toward the figure, "thank god it's you," looking from the figure to the couple still locked in an embrace then back at the figure, "did you know about them?" Bonnie asked.

The figure looked to where Bonnie had been gazing then back to Bonnie, "well, that should be a shock but then again, it was bound to happen sooner or later. Come on, let's go say hello to Caroline."

Because I want to be a writer to listens to her readers, I will extend this fic a few more chapters.

Love the reviews, I got a really long one from twotoe so many thanks! I actually read through all the comments and suggestions posted and I was surprised to note that a lot of you shippers are put off with the characterization of Elena hence. I hope the TVD writers take note of that. I myself do not really ship Elena, I am a Klaroline shipper obviously although that's hopeless. But here is to hoping the next TVD season is centered on ALL the mainstays and not a just the tired and tried triangle of Elena/Damon/Stefan, really the show is a lot more than just the three of them. Now enough said since this might trigger a debate and this is not really the venue for that or was it my intention. To each his own.
