Astrid's POV
Five minutes in that place drives me nuts, I don't know how I survived being there before. I hopped out of the taxi and headed to me and Aelita's room. I had convinced them that I would be fine staying at the school. Aelita, Yum, and i were assigned the task of keeping watch of the supercomputer. Yumi libe's close by the school so it's easy for her and Aelita and I share a room at the school.
"Astrid!" Aelita called waving her hand high in the air. I waved back and ran over to her.
"Hey how have you been in the two days we haven't seen each other?" I said jokingly and we headed back to the room.
"Do you have any ideas for what you want to do?" She asked and I pondered it for a moment.
"sleep. And read.. You?" I asked and she shrugged. I think we were both just happy enough having each other's company. We walked contentedly side by side all the way back to our dorm.
"Hmm, I think I'm going to try and brush up on my trumpet playing." I said, thinking of the way I've been neglecting it.
"I think while you do that I'll go visit the hermatage. I'll see you later." She said getting up from the bed. I stopped her before she could go out.
"Be careful." I said, I know she probably wants to go there alone so I won't interfere. "You never know what Xana could have up his sleeve."
"Come on Astrid, you sound like Jeremy. I'll be fine." Aelita said and I let her go, wishing she hadn't said those words as if to challenge the world go prove different...
Later after I finished playing on the trumpet for a while, I headed back to the room. Aelita still hadn't returned or was just off doing something. I read for a while then studied a bit. Soon I grew bored and headed out into the woods. Eventually I made my way to the factory. Surprise by naturally going there.
"Ow!..." A moaned of pain along with a metallic clunk came from the maze of hallways.
"Anyone there?" I called and Aelita shuffled her way out of one of the rooms. She was holding her head with a goofy smile.
"I hit my head." She said half crying half laughing. We both laughed together and headed down the elevator to check on the supercomputer.
"What did you hit your head on?" I asked and she laughed.
"I defiantly didn't hit it on a table, I'll tell you that." She muttered sarcastically and mutinously. We laughed and made jokes about the funniest situation to bump your head as we headed down to the supercomputer. When we got down we check to see if everything was working fine. Just as we were about to leve a small, little cell phone like notification beep sounded.
"What was that?" Aelita asked and we went back to check around the room for cell phobes. We both left ours in the room and we couldn't find anyone's cell phone in this room either. After that just as a precaution we checked the computer too.
"I wouldn't think it would come from that." I said dubiously. Still she checked it but nothing came up. Eventually we shrugged and headed out again. By the time we got back to the dorm it was late afternoon.
"Hmmm, wanna play a game of cards?" I asked and she nodded enthusiastically. We laid down on the floor playing ing various card games including go fish, war, and banana split. soon though we went over to the cafeteria to get dinner, after that we head back to our rooms. Then we went to a, blissfully empty shower. When we finished showering we both decided to go to bed early today.
"No point in keeping ourselves up, after all we can get up early if we need." She said and turned off the lights. A good ending to a peaceful day.
I jumped, the soft click of a door was enough, for some reason, to wake me up. I squinted at the bright light of the computer screen shooting light into the pitch black room. What had Aelita been doing at... One in the morning? I turned around and tried to go back to sleep but the later it got the more I was worried why she hadn't come back yet. After thirty minutes I got up and turned the lights on. What was she doing? I figured she just went to the bathroom but..
"What?.." I muttered as I looked at the computer screen. A conversation between... I sucked in a breath as I saw the name.
Franz Hopper. That's not right though, somethings wrong. I got out of bed and put on this cute little night robe from the orphanage. Hey it's cold and I don't have time for much else. I ran outside to the factory, that's where Franz Hopper told Aelita to meet him. I sprinted through the woods with only socks on and a thin night robe over my pajamas that was billowing behind me.
Soon I made my way in the dark to the factory. What I found there was a lit up computer with a strange thing on it. Okay first things first, did Aelita virtualized herself... Yep...I'm gong to smack her I swear. Second thing. Called Yumi. I pulled out my phone that I remembered to bring, thank you lord.
"Hello? Astrid it's one forty five in the morning what do you need?" Yumi said groggily on the second call.
"I don't know but long story short I think Aelita virtualized herself. Call the others, I'm going to get her. Hopefully everything's okay." I explained quickly and Yumi got to it. I typed in the program for times virtualization and ran to the scanners.
When I landed on lyoko I instinctively pulled out an arrow and. Itched my bow. I dont want to get in any trouble when I'm by myself.
Ice section...is there anything strange around here? She wouldn't go to sector five would she? No she would need to manually do that on the computer. After searching around some ice. Blocks I came across a very strange structure which I have no doubt is connected to aelita's where about. It was a glowing dome like structure thats high is about a foot or so taller than me. I walked up to the structure and out of impulse put my hand on it immediately my hand sunk throug. Leading to the inside.
"Here goes nothing." I muttered to myself casting away the possible dangers i created in my head. What could possibly go wrong? Your gonna bite that later. I walked forward, allowing myself to transfer into the virtual world. When I got inside I felt one foot sink into cold and the rest of my body fly downward. When I saw what I had fallen on I gasped. Snow, looking up to see the scenery I wanted to gasp again. This must be sometype of virtual simulator thing!
I got up from the ground and looked at the cottage looking house in front of me. Where is this supposed to be? Snow covered everything in a cold white blanket. The lights were on in the house and I could hear the whispers of talking. I took. Another step forward. but fell face thirst in the snow again. I turn around to look at what keeps tripping me and see my little night robe twisted around my shoe. I was back in my normal clothes!
I really hope this is the real franz hopper and not a Xana thing because I do not want to deal with Xana in pajamas. I untwisted my robe from my shoe and walked up to the house. When I got to door I knocked, the voices stopped and soon faint footsteps were coming to the door. when it finally opened up, the face of a man appeared. I can only assume this is franz hopper, with a gray beard to match his rough hair, dressed in a brown sweater.
"Ah Astrid!" I see you've come to join us tonight!" He said pleasantly and ushered me inside. Walking inside the cold immediatly rushed from me and the comforting warmth of a cozy home surrounded me. Further in Aelita was sitting on a chair comfortably. When I saw her I crossed my arms and gave her the most annoyed looked I've had in a while. Honestly that was where the meter was setting anyways.
"I-Im sorry..." she said looking down at her feet. I waved it away with my hand.
"Sorry!? Who would even consider going into this virtual bubble thing, without knowing what's on the other side? Especially when it could be a potential trap from Xana!? No offense sir." I said turning around go him for a second. "And not telling anyone, which makes it perfectly impossible for anyone to find you if this was a trap from Xana. On top of which if Xana did capture you he practically wins because we can't deactivate towers without you, so not only are you seriously endangering yourself you've just kissed the world a goodbye!" by the time I had finished Aelita had winced several times and my voice had gotten so loud I was practically yelling.
Franz hopper sighed behind me and the annoyance that had just faded came up again. I swiftly turned around and advanced on him.
"And you! What father would put his daughter into danger like this? In a situation where Xana could attack! Arm you in your right mind?!" I said quickly and shortly, my temper calming again. I sat down on the side of the couch next to Aelita. She still wouldn't look me in the eye. Franz hopper sat down in a chair across from me, we were all in a triangular sort of shape.
"Well, Astrid I've built this in a specific way to keep us safe from any harm it might bring being in lyoko. It is the holiday times so it's only natural that I would want to see my daughter." He said in a gruff voice. I narrowed my eyes but shoved the thought away. So what if he's a Xana monster in disguise we're leaving now anyways.
"that's fine and all but we have to go. I assume you've already had time to talk so we really should." I said briefly without questions offered. I stood up and looked at Aelita.
"But... Now? We really don't have to yet." She said protestingly. Even though I knew she wanted go stay and talk with her father but how's not the time.
"Aelita you know it's a bad idea to even be herd. The sooner we are gone the better." I said and she nodded grudgingly. We both not up and headed to the door.
"Wait but it took so long to get this ready, can't you stay a little longer?" He asked and I sighed letting Aelita answer him.
"No she right, it's dangerous. But thank you for talking to me. Hopefully I'll see you again soon." She said waving goodbye a we headed out the door. We walked through the snow up to the simulator wall. Aelita went first trying to push her hand through.
"It won't go.." She said and realization struck our faces. I pushed my hand onto he wall and it sunk through.
"Quick give me your hand!" I said feeling a sensation in my stomach. I put my hand on GOP of hers and pushed it through. Slowly but surely i got her hand in and she was able to go through. All of my energy drained as I took my hand off of hers. she was already half way through but when I tried to put my hand through to the wall rejected me.
"Astrid..." Aelita said but I looked behind us to see a wolf stalking toward us.
"No time" I said a pushed her through. Her body fell through the wall on the other side to lyoko. Sighing I turned around and face the wolf. I walked away from the wall as it will not help me anymore. Backing up away from the wolf it steered me in the direction back to the house. Cursing I slowly let myself be hearded back to the house, my energy to drain to do anything else.
Out of nowhere the wolf stopped and sat down. Guarding it's post to not let me get to the wall. I kept backing up though, trying to distance myself as far away from it as possible. Walking back, though, I felt soft hands wrapped around my arm. I froze as the winter jacket I knew so well came into view as the arms wrapped farther around me. A human, I could sense something in him that this was no simulation. Feeling all of my energy slip from me I slowly collapsed to the ground in his arms. He picked me up and carried me back inside to the warm house. The last thing I saw was the other half to the red wooden heart hanging on a necklace.
Hey guys! Wow it's been a while huh? Sorry or taking so long but I've been getting less and less chances to write. And really I should be working on my science project instead of writing...oh well. I hope you guys liked this chapter and I can't guarantee the next one will be up soon but it will be up...hopefully in this month. Again I'm sorry buys but im trying my best. Anyways thanks for reading!
