Knocking in Some Sense
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Beckett asked bluntly.
Castle was a bit shocked that his wife was being so forward.
"Our daughter just told you that she's pregnant and all you do is freak out before going into a trance.
"Kate."
"I mean you of all people should be thrilled that Alexis is having a baby."
"Kate; listen to me."
"I'm listening. You better have a good reason for disappointing Alexis like you did."
With that Castle told Beckett why he reacted to Alexis' news like he did.
"Just because Alexis isn't your little girl anymore doesn't mean you have to freak out like that. She was hoping that you would excited when you found out that she is having a baby."
"I am believe me I am. I can hardly wait to meet our granddaughter or grandson."
"Don't tell me this. Go convince Alexis before Martha can't calm her down."
With that Castle and Beckett left Castle's office.
Martha looked to Beckett as Beckett and Castle came back into the living room.
"Everything is better now." Beckett said to her mother in law.
Martha and Beckett stepped back a bit as Castle talked to Alexis.
Sometime later; Castle, Beckett and Martha were congratulating Alexis and Jake after Jake came downstairs with the kids.
Alexis and Jake thanked their family for the congratulations. Now Alexis just had to tell her sisters and brothers that they would have a niece or nephew in nine months.
