Aunts and Uncles
Alexis had spent the time after she had told her grandmother and father that she was pregnant trying to figure out how she was going to tell her sisters and brothers. She knew that telling her parents, grandmother and her in – laws then it would be telling her siblings. Telling her four younger siblings; who were still under the age of ten that they were going to be aunts and uncles didn't seem to be as easy to Alexis. Jake, Martha, Beckett and Castle gave Alexis her space.
The kids were sitting at their table working. James Royce was coloring while the twins were working on a craft and Johanna Martha was working on homework. They noticed when their big sister came over to them.
"Can you guys stop what you're doing for a minute so I can tell you something?" Alexis said.
The kids stopped what they were doing and paid attention to their sister.
"I have something to tell you guys."
"Go ahead; Lexis." Kat said.
Everyone smiled after that. The kids definitely had their moments of cuteness.
"Jake and I are going to have a baby. By next summer you guys will have a niece or nephew."
The kids processed what their sister had just told them. Smiles came to the kids' faces. After that the kids congratulated their sister and then their brother in law when he came over.
Later that day; Alexis and Jake would tell Jake's family when they saw them for dinner. When they had learned that they were pregnant; Jake had said that they should tell Meredith that she was going to have a grandchild in a few months. Alexis didn't want to. She had to reiterate to her husband that even though Meredith was biologically speaking was her mother; Meredith was never really a mother to her. Meredith was more like a crazy aunt with a credit card. As far as Alexis was concerned; Beckett was her mother and once Beckett knew about the pregnancy then everything was squared away.
