By the time the trio made it to their destination, it was nighttime.

"This is it, buddy-boy; Home sweet home!" Timon cheered, "And I don't gotta share it with anybody." Shenzi furrowed her eyebrows at him at his last statement.

'Anybody?' She thought.

"Don't you get, I don't know, lonely out here?" Pumbaa asked them.

"Lonely? Try commitment-free," Timon laid on a hammock after tying it up, "The elbow-to-elbow life reminds me a little too much of home. This place has everything; cool refreshments," The warthog handed him a bowl of slush, "Cozy little hammock, lovely water feature, and it's all mine." Shenzi raised an eyebrow at him at that last statement.

'All yours?' She wanted to say out loud, but stayed silent.

"Oh," Pumbaa took in the fact that he wasn't factored in, and tried to handle it bravely, "Well… it's really coming together, guys, so uh, so I guess I'll just be going," He started to slowly walk away.

Shenzi nudged Timon harshly, almost knocking him out of the hammock, with a scowl in her face, so he spoke up. "D'ow!" He yelled out from her harsh nudge, regaining his balance. "Uh, wait a minute, now wait-wa-wait, there's no law that says you have to go," Timon told him, "I mean, if you want…"

Pumbaa zipped up to them immediately. "Ooh, great! I already made up two beds!"

"Two?" Shenzi raised her eyebrows. Pumbaa showed them the beds he made, and there was indeed only two.

"One for you guys," He referred to the small bed, "And one for me!" He referred to the much bigger one.

"Ohh!" Timon yawned luxuriantly, "All this construction work has me bushed," Shenzi furrowed her eyebrows in confusion at him, "Think I'll turn in early." He walked past the smaller bed, and made himself comfortable in the bigger bed, Shenzi reluctantly following him. "Ahhh! Yeah…" She laid next to him, making sure she wasn't too close, avoiding any awkward moments.

After circling around the small bed two times, Pumbaa stuffed his legs in it, but one of his legs popped out of it, yet he was comfortable anyway. "Ahh… Good night."

"Sleep tight," Timon replied.

"Dream of bedbugs tonight." The threesome drifted off to sleep, as daylight gradually, and eventually came.

"Home sweet home indeed," Timon narrated.

A couple months later, the trio were sleeping after a long day; Shenzi was unknowingly laying on top of Timon, who was laying face-up, with her head on his chest, and her ears almost up to his chin. They were still in the bigger bed, while Pumbaa was squeezed into the smaller bed. Shenzi peeked her large yellow eyes open as she heard pounding music from outside. She carefully got off of her friend's chest, so she wouldn't wake him up, and walked outside to see where it was coming from. When she saw it, she smiled widely, and started dancing to it.

Meanwhile, Timon was starting to gradually wake up from the music. He got up, his eyes barely open, and started banging the ceiling with a stick. "Hey, keep it down up there!" He exclaimed.

"We have neighbors?" Pumbaa woke up, not bothered at all, "We should go say hello."

"Noisy neighbors," Timon remarked, "There go the property values."

He and Pumbaa walked outside, where they saw the source of the noise; Simba's "I Just Can't Wait to be King" performance, which Shenzi was currently dancing to. All the animals were formed into a pyramid with Simba and Nala on top.

"Let every creature go for broke and sing
Let's hear it in the herd and on the wing
It's gonna be king Simba's finest fling
Oh, I just can't wait to be king!
Oh, I just can't wait to be king!" The chorus of animals sang, with Shenzi singing along.

"Oh perfect; We moved to the theater district," Timon said in annoyance, "Get a load of these guys." He walked up to the group, and thwacked an elephant's leg with his stick, "Knock it off!" That little action caused the pyramid of animals to start collapsing, and they were heading right for them!

"Oh, I just can't wait…"

"Look out!" Pumbaa snatched Timon out of the way of the impending disaster.

"… To be king!"

"Move it!" Timon quickly yanked Shenzi out of the danger zone. The pyramid collapsed, just as the trio ducked under the rocks they slept under the last nights.

"Oy," Timon blew the end of Pumbaa's tail off his face, "Show people."

Later that day, the trio were continuing their search.

"Chin up, Pumbaa!" Timon brushed a branch aside, "Whoa! Our dream home is around here somewhere."

"You know guys, I came across a place that might just be what you're looking for," Pumbaa told them, "Spectacular waterfalls, set in a lush, tropical oasis, a scrumptious array of…"

"Hey, hey, hey, forget it, Pumbaa," Timon interrupted him, "I'm a realist, and I'm not gonna go chasing after some fantasy. I'm goin' beyond what I see."

"But if you always go beyond what you see, how do you know you're there?" Pumbaa asked him.

"Oh, I'll tell you how I know," The meerkat said impatiently, "We're there!" He stubbornly gestured to their surroundings, which consisted of the Elephant Graveyard.

"Uh…" Shenzi started getting a bad feeling, "Maybe this isn't such a good idea."

"Come on, Shenzi; this is a lovely spot," Timon assured her, "Lovely, rustic, picturesque. Home sweet home, guys. Mm-hmm. Home sweet ho…!" He was leaning on an elephant skull, and a bit of it gave away under him, so he collapsed inside. After a second, he came back out. "I, I mean, sure… it needs some work, but it's got good bones. Hahaha! After all, this is an elephant graveyard. And who would ever come to an elephant graveyard?"

"… Aaaahh!" They all screamed and hid in the skull when they heard a loud roar in the distance. Just as they were out of sight, Mufasa came running through the graveyard, with Zazu flying next to him.

"Sire, the jackals are after the children!" Zazu exclaimed as they ran/flew out of sight.

"Told you," Shenzi said quietly to Timon before they all peeked out, and saw Mufasa attacking the jackals.

"I see carnivores," Timon whispered, looking like he'd seen ghosts.

"Beyond whatcha see, beyond whatcha see, hahahahaha! Beyond what you see…" Timon was getting nervous, and had a tenuous grip on reality. At that time, the group were at a thermal-vent area with geysers all over the place.

"Uh, guys?" Pumbaa piped up in a hopeful tone, "Would this be a bad time to bring up that little place I told you about?"

"Hey!" Timon threw himself face-up on a geyser vent, "This is home sweet home, baby! Home… Aaaahh!" He shot up in the air, screaming when the geyser erupted right under him, with Shenzi jumping back in surprise. "Ow! Haha!" He was on the verge of cracking, "Steam! Haha! Steam is good! Steam is, is, is, water. Whoo! Gotta have water; You know, for the dream home. Steam home, dream home! Steam, steam, steam," He started getting a hold of himself. "I am perfectly happy r-r-right here. It's remote, private, no expected visitors…"

Suddenly, the area got brighter, and the trio froze when they saw jackals marching along. "Somethin' tells me this ain't the traveling company of "Riverdance,"" Timon remarked before they danced away.

The next day, their search was still going on. "Beyond what you see," Timon was saying snidely, "Beyond what you… Uhh-h!" He stopped and shuddered in disgust, "Hey, how am I supposed to look beyond what I see beyond that?" Pumbaa was sitting in front of him and Shenzi, but was facing away from them.

"Huh? Oh sorry," He moved out of their way, revealing an intimidating gorge.

Soon, the trio were trudging along in it, the heat affecting them. "What this place lacks in water and shade, it makes up for with searing heat, and blinding sunshine," Timon remarked, "Home sweet home, guys!" He whimpered a bit in desperation, before the ground started rumbling. Some birds flew in the air, as hundreds of wildebeests stampeded down the gorge, and rapidly headed right for them.

"Shall we run for our lives?" Pumbaa asked in a leisurely tone.

"Oh yes, let's," Timon agreed in the same tone.

"Good idea," Shenzi nodded calmly, before they started screaming and made a run for it. They ended up on top of a wildebeest's head, and when the group was separated, they realized they were headed for the edge of a cliff.

"Hang on, guys!" Pumbaa yelled out.

"This is it! Goodbye, cruel world!" Timon exclaimed. Shenzi just buried her face in the back of his neck in fear.

Suddenly, the wildebeests screeched to a halt at the edge, and the trio were pitched into the air, and after a few midair tumbles, they landed safely in a slow-moving river, with Pumbaa face-up, Timon and Shenzi on his stomach, and Shenzi landing on Timon.

"That's it?" The meerkat scoffed, "Pfft, that wasn't so bad! You can't knock ol' Timon down that easy! Yeah!" While he was talking, Shenzi looked in the direction in which they were headed, and noticed they were going right to the top of a waterfall. "Bring it on!" She nudged him to get his attention, and pointed in the direction they were headed. "Uh… Pumbaa? Question: Is it possible to fall off the edge of the earth?"

"Uh, technically no," Pumbaa told him, "The earth is round like a sphere, Timon; So it doesn't actually have an edge."

Just seconds after he said that, the trio hurtled over the edge, screaming. Suddenly, the movie was paused.

"You guys mind if I pause for a bit?" Pumbaa asked the other two.

"Sure, go ahead," Timon replied.

"Be right back!" Pumbaa ran into another area.

"I'll go with him," Shenzi stood up, and went after him.

Timon cracked his neck one way and then the other, grunting. As the other two clattered away, Timon scratched in his ear, sniffed a bit, hummed the "It's a Small World After All" tune, and casually picked his nose. Just as the sound of a popcorn popper came to a stop, he pulled out a big booger. He gasped as he realized they were coming back. He frantically looked for a tissue, but did not see one, so he tried to shake it off his hand, then to flick it off. Finally he quickly wiped it on the seat just as Pumbaa and Shenzi return, with a huge bag of bugs.

"Okay, I got the jumbo, so we could all share," Pumbaa announced as he and Shenzi sat back down. They then realized how stalk-still he was sitting. "...Were you just picking your nose?" Shenzi raised her eyebrows at him with a smirk.

"Nooo, I had an itch on the inside!" Timon defended indignantly. He ate a handful of bugs and played the movie, as Shenzi inched away from him.

(A/N: The original movie and its characters belong to Disney. I always thought Shenzi sleeping on top of Timon would be a cute image. X3)
