William's POV
After I had finished explaining the thing with Eric to Odd we decided to try and calm down the others...bad choice. When we walked away from that failed conversation everyone seemed to have broken up into groups.
We were all walking together, probably just wandering around the school with nothing to do, but it was seperate.,like everyone had gained to be mad at everyone else. I walked with Odd, Ulrich walked with Yumi, and Jeremy walked with Aelita.
"Oh hey, has anyone...has anyone seen Astrid around?" Ulrich asked after we had settled in the rec room which, I had not known we were going.
"She said she had to be somewhere in town..." Odd said although he didn't look very happy with his own answer.
"I wonder where she went.." Yumi said worriedly and the whole overall mood shifted.
"Well it's her business anyway." Jeremy said logically and ulrich nodded.
"Right, she'll be back soon so why don't we just let her be. Anyway does anyone want to play cards?" He asked and like the totally cool teenagers we were we spent the entire day playing board games and cards.
"Oh hey, I just realized I left my phone in my room. Ill go get it." Aelita said and left the rec room.
Five minutes later Odd got a call from Aelita.
"hey, I'm still in my room but I think something bad happened. Astrid was really upset. Odd do you think you can find her. She'll talk to you." Aelita said and hung up. after odd told us what she said we exchanged confused glances.
"Something bad had to have happened..." Yumi said and Jeremy looked at Odd.
"Do you know where she might have gone?" He asked and Odd thought about it for a moment. I thought back a few times before.
"Odd, do you think she mightve gone.." I say trailing off and realization strikes in Odd's eyes.
"Those hallways right? Try to contact her I'll go find her." He says and runs off.
"excuse me." Someone said from behind turned around and faced a woman in a very buiseness like dress. She had orange hair and was probably in her upper twenties or lower thirties.
"I'm looking for a girl named Astrid Hax. Are you friends of hers?" She asks and holds out a business card. I take it and see a number and an email address on it. "If you could give that to her please and tell her to contact me." She waltz away and sets it on a bench, not even waiting for us to say yes or no.
"What was that about?" Yumi asks and takes the business card.
"Sam Jones? I wonder who she is, and what does she have to do with Astrid?" Ulrich asks as he reads the card.
"whatever it is we should give it to Astrid. Oh there she is. Looks like odd found her." Aelita said from behind arriving just in time.
"She looks like she's shaken." Yumi says and runs over to her. Aelita and the rest of us follow her.
"Hey everyone, im sorry I didnt mean to make you worry." She says and Yumi hugs her.
"Nonsense, but what happened anyway?" Yumi asks and Astrid bites her lip.
"it's a long story..." She says and Ulrich shakes his head.
"you don't have to tell us now. Oh by the way some women named Sam Jones wanted to give this to you." He hands her the card and Astrid tilts her head.
Astrid's POV
"That's...strange." I say and slip it in my pocket. "I'll deal with that later." I say and look at the others. "For now, um, I'm sorry for worrying you. I'm fine really. Some things just came up..." I say and suddenly the idea of telling them scares me. My throat colossus up and I feel an asthma attack coming. I kneel down and pull out my inhaler. the others kinda scrambke around realizing what's happening but not being able to do anything.
I pull myself up after it passes and realize it was a relativly quick one. I laugh and slip my inhaler back in m pocket.
"wow that was random!" I say yawn.
"your...too calm about that.." Jeremy says shaking his head and I laugh.
"anyone let's go to a movie together with everyone! That'll raise spirits!" Aelita suggest and we all agree. I smile loving the time we spend together. I shouldn't focus so much on what they say. I'm sure it's all an elaborate prank or something. There's no way I could be a computer. I look at odd and raise my eyebrow to see his questioning face.
He's womdering why I didn't tell them huh? I shake my head and smile reassuring him. I guess I'm worrying meow them I try to let myself believe. I'll tell them one day, if it's even true of course. I bet odd thinks that too. I hold his hand as we walk to the theater.
"He went back to see the super comeuter!?" I say surprised that Eric went back after he said he would leave it and the problem to us.
"Pretty much, he told us about going up and looking around the scanners and the super computer."Ulrich said annoyed.
"That's why we were a tad upset this morning." Yumi said and I held back an obvious laugh. Me, Odd, and William shared a look.
"just a little? Only a smidge?" Odd says sarcastically and I giggle.
"Well, at least he didn't keep it a secret. We were able to check that he did mess anything up..." Aelita said conflicted. She was a person with a very kind heart, I'm sure she found it hard to blame Eric.
"That's true, hey maybe he wants to help. It wouldn't be that bad. He's really smart too so he could be someone who could help virtualize and look over someone if one of us aren't there." I say gesturing to myself, Jeremy, and Aelita.
"hmm, soon we'll be inviting the entire academy on this bandwagon." William said and showed no shame at joining the group late. I guess I can't feel that way even if I wanted to. But I still think that the more help we have the easier it'll be to protect everyone from Xana, I mean that's our main goal right. Oh but we can't let the government know or else they'll shut it down and Aelita and I will die.
"Speak of the devil." Odd says and we spot Eric, Brynga, and Sissy farther up on the sidewalk next to a book store.
"what's sissy doing near one of those?" Ulrich asked sarcastically. We get closer to them and I catch tidbits of their conversation.
"No! -in any -screams! -more respect -than that." Eric says obviously defiant to whatever the two trouble makers were proposing. Brynga leaned and whispered something to him. He goes red but whispers back to her.
His face color returns to normal and he sighs. He catches sight of us and shakes his head. When we reach him Brynga waves flirtingly to odd, ignoring me completeoy, especially my glares.
"Hey Astrid, you should keep a better watch on your enemies these days." Eric says and jogs away. I stand there blinking while the other start to interrogate our two 'enemies'.
"alright spill it, what were you trying to manipulate him to do?" Ulrich ask and Yumi crosses her arms.
"nothing of course? Oh wait is that not good enough for you? Maybe we should tell you everything you want to hear? We're going to take over the world next Tuesday." Sissy says sarcastically and shares a suspicious glance with Brynga.
"Either way, we've got a movie to catch in ten minutes guys. Let's just walk around the trash cans." William says and we agree. The two girls glare at William but don't say anything as we start running to catch the movie.
Erics POV
I never thought it would be as deep as it is. I seriously doubted the whole Xana threatens the world thing. But after hearing what they plan to do I was taken back.
The only thing they need me to do is get them into lyoko soon. Preferably while Their group is not at the academy. That and A few other things that I absolutely refused the minute they mentioned it. Well obviously they felt they couldn't have had a better chance to take advantage of everything. I got a message to meet them at the factoryk ASAP.
My original thoughts were that I wouldn't help them in a thousand years. However maybe this so teach them a lesson. If we actually succeed at what we are planning on doing then they obviously don't have enough defense to take this on all by themselves.
If their going to protect the world they better do it right, not spend time going out to the movies while we execute our plan.
if they do manage to stop us I will respectfully leave them alone and leave them with the responsibility. however if they can't I'll be calling the police as soon as possible. One persons life is nothing compared to the...entire world.
"Yo." I say arriving at the factory some time later. The two girls push me onto the spinning chair.
"quick. Virtualized sissy and she'll meet up with xana. A tower will be activated and they'll be on their way so we've got to hide after we know she's safe." Brynga says an do sigh and nod. After playing around with the computer a bit I manga e to get sissy successfully on lyoko.
"Yes!" Brynga cheers and I slide off the chair.
"i assume you don't need me-" I start to say but am interrupted by a flashing screen. The towers activated.
"We might just come on!" Brynga says in her accent and pulls me into the elevator. I yank away my hand and sigh again. We hide in an air vent so we can see into the room with the super computer.
About thirty minutes later the elevator brings the expected group of huffing and puffing lyokoers down to the room. Brynga feels the need to shush me one last time and we listen into their conversation.
"At least we're all together this time." Astrid says and examines the computer screen while Jeremy slides into his chair.
"Oh...oh no. Jeremy send us in immediately." Astrid says seeing the screen. I'm assuming they've now realized that sissy is virtualized on lyoko. I wonder what it looks like in there.
"I knew she was nosy but I never though her nose was this big.." Odd said shaking his head.
"How did she even do it?" Aelita ask completely confused. I t an imaginary hat to her even though she cant see it. They rush to the scanner room and are individually virtualized onto lyoko. It's not hard but Jeremy could do it much faster than I did on my first try.
"What exactly were you planning to do once they got to lyoko?" I ask. They must have had something to alert them that the tower was activated. Bet the rest of the theater want too happy about that.
"Were simply helping Xana do a harmless experiment."
Odds POV.
We hurried into lyko as fast as we could. The pest now wouldn't even forget about it all since she'd been virtualized. This is great eh?
"She's inside the farthest north tower. It's not that far from here." Astrid reports, probably testing out her super awesome computer skills. Every else looks confused as to how she knows and Jeremy confirms.
We start running as Jeremy programs our vehicles and the look on everyone's faces would've made me laugh if I didn't share it.
It was almost ridiculous, that after Sissy's been her with it for so long, yet not really being apart of our group, she manages the screw things up while we're casually enjoying a movie. People have no respect to Kunfu movies these days.
"Ah, it bugs me thinking of having to explain everything to her! I can just imagine the smug face if she ever finds out she was there during one our first few visits!" Yumi says and Astrid mutters an agreement.
"We don't have to tell her that. She won't remember. Besides whose says we owe anything to her to explain it?" William says and Ulrich growls.
"I'm sure they'll be a price to her silence." Ulrich say mutinously and I whistle.
"Dude, you could freeze water with that glare." I say and jump on my board. Astrid clicks on her skates while Aelita and Yumi hop on the hover board.
"Can I freeze her?" Ulrich ask jumping on his bike.
"Ohhhkay, let's think happy thoughts Mmkay?" Astrid says. "We don't want to add murder to our various offenses that we'll be charged with if we're ever discovered. At least if she helps out we could get special connections to the principle or something. There could be a silver lining to this enormous mass of storm clouds...if you can find the end." Astrid says half grimly half jokingly.
"I guess...Oh! There's the tower!" I exclaim and we all race toward it. We jump off our vehicles and walk toward the pulsing red tower.
"Why on earth is she in an activated one?" Aelita ask and I shake my head.
"Best not to question. It probably went with her outfit." I joked and Aelita shrugged and ran in. Right as she did a bunch of monsters popped out from multiple places.
"Ah, that's what we were waiting for. Ulrich try freezing them!" Astrid says and pulls out her bows and arrows.
"Perfect way to release our anger, we can show sissy whatll happen if she blabs to anyone" William says and and Astrid takes defeat.
The Crabs, Blocks, and creepers stood absolutely no chance at this group of five annoyed, scared, and p. groups of high students with weapons. we carved through them with hardly any hesitation since Aelita was already in the tower.
After a few minutes we realized that there was no end to the amount of monsters. I dodging bullets while waiting for Jeremy to replenish my arrows when I was frozen and pulled off the ground. Tentacles wrapped around me and my world went black.
Astrids POV.
"Odd!" I screamed and shot an arrow uselessly into the schyphozoa's Virtual flesh. I released the blades on my wrist and heals and started bolting to the jellyfish erasing my boyfriends memory. I use a block as a boost but run flat into a creeper.
"I'll kill you five times." I threaten and shoot it dead in the middle of the Xana symbol. The other get interrupted by a horde of monsters as well. And I soon realized that I was surrounded.
I sliced kankerlots, shot the blocks, heal stabbed the creeper, and jumped on top of the crab. Even my attempts at running across the tops of the monsters failed. I decided that having a fe spare moments left I would try it.
Please, if I am a computer let me save Odd. I promise I'll do anything, but he can't die for some twisted xana reason. The tower deactivated an the schyphozoa releases odd.
Odd is set down and my heart beats again when he sits pul he's okay! At the very least he's not dead! I twist my wrist dwells into the programs of all the monsters around me. Suddenly I could see ever move, every advantage, an. Every weakness the each had. Only for moments was it there but it was, and I could see it clearly before my eyes.
i closed my fist and the monsters I had connected with devirtualized. I ran with Ulrich and reached odd the same time he did. We helped him up as the others came too.
"are you okay? Why did the schyphozoa leave?" Yumi ask and odd shakes his head.
"I don't know but that was freaky." Odd said and William clapped him on the back.
"So it wasn't successful with doing anything to you?" William and odd shakes his head.
"I don't /think/ so. But it could be like that one time with Yumi!" Odd says and Yumi nods. I hold my hand over my heart and thank every single deity that o remember at the time.
"thats great. I don't see anything wrong with you on the supercomputer. I'm going to bring everyone in! We can interrogate sissy then." Jeremy says and we are all devirtualized. Odd and I are the last ones to go and he gives me a suspicious look but says nothing.
Whats wrong with him? Maybe he's pulling a joke but he didn't say anything at all to me. We're finally devirtualized and my process seems to slow down immensely. I can see all of the components with the program. I feel like I'm swimming in a computer. I watch my body form back and smile until a voice breaches my mind.
"There are only two people I have in mind to stand by my side. Your enemies should realize that. Be warned I haven't given up on you or the boy yet." Xana's voice says clearly in my mind.
i growl but feel my feet hit the ground in the scanner. I hop out and walk over to odd.
"Your really okay? No bruises, Eyes look good, still have your teeth." I say looking over odd. He shoos my away with his hands. Yumi and Ulrich tilt their heads and Aelita and Jeremy walk over. Sissy sits quietly in the corner looking very scared.
"Yeah all that's fine but, can you tell me something?" Odd ask and I can feel my stomach falling.
"yes?"
"Who are you?"
Half of you hate me but I think some of you are going, oooo plot! Yes that did just happen and yes you should worry because I'm making evil plans. Let's see how long has it been? I near code lyoko's theme song in a commercial but messed up and didn't get to see the actual commercial, but it inspired me to keep writing. Anyway I hope you liked this I wrote this in one night and am opting it several minutes from writing this so i apologize for typos. Hopefulu I can get more into writing his fan fic and keeping up with it. Either way I'm tired so I'll be going to sleep now, I'll see you all sometime soon...I hope. XD
