Meanwhile, Pumbaa was running in slow-motion to the Pridelands, with a teary-eyed Shenzi on his back, when Timon suddenly ran past them in normal motion, making Pumbaa skid to a stop.

"… Friends stick together to the end," He smiled at them. After the two gasped joyfully, Shenzi tackled him in a huge hug, and Pumbaa embraced them both. Suddenly, the movie was paused by Timon.

"What was up with the running?" He asked Pumbaa, "If you can call that "running.""

"We were giving you time to catch up," Pumbaa told him, as Shenzi nodded.

"Aw, you guys are the best," Timon embraced them both before continuing the movie.

"Hop on buddy, we got a fight to catch!" Pumbaa smiled before Timon did so, sitting behind Shenzi, and grabbed his ears, so he reared back like a horse. "Let's whip some grass!" Timon exclaimed as Pumbaa ran off with his pint-sized friends on his back to the draught-ravaged Pridelands.

"This is the stuff of legends," Timon started narrating, "An epic struggle; the place where heroes are born. Pumbaa, Shenzi… this could be our finest hour."

Then the screen showed Timon and Shenzi in Hawaiian attire. Timon had a purple lei around his neck, and a pink flower behind his ear, while Shenzi had a black lei around her neck, a matching band around her head, and a black flower on one ear. They both had green hula skirts on as well.

"Luau!" Timon exclaimed, before he and Shenzi started singing,
"If you're hungry for a hunk of fat and juicy meat
Eat my buddy Pumbaa here because he is…
" An embarrassed Timon paused the movie.

"Heh heh, let's just, cut to the chase, shall we?" He suggested.

"Oh sure," Pumbaa agreed, before it was cut to after the song ended, and Timon played the movie.

"Aaaaahhh!" They all screamed as they fled from a pack of hunger-mad jackals. They led the famous trio, Shelly, Bruno and Bin, into a cave.

"What the…" Shelly started saying before there was a powerful explosion.

"Aaaaahhh! Get outta the way!" The jackals were yelling as they made a run for it. After they fled, Shenzi, Timon, and Pumbaa emerged triumphantly, and Pumbaa snorted like a bull.

Timon inhaled deeply, "I love the smell of Pumbaa in the morning," He smirked. Suddenly, the ground crumbled under the warthog's hooves.

"Hey, hey, hey! Move your tush, honey!" A familiar voice exclaimed. Pumbaa skipped away from the hole, revealing Timon's mom, Max, and Vitawny in it!

"Ma? Uncle Max?" An astonished Timon's eyes widened.

"Vitawny?" Shenzi's eyes widened as well in astonishment.

"Oh, Timmy!" Ma said happily.

"Timon?" Max was baffled, as was Vitawny.

"Shenzi?"

"What are you doin' here?" Timon asked them as he jumped down in front of them.

"Looking for you!" Ma embraced him and Shenzi, "Aw, Mommy's here." Timon smiled sheepishly as Max fingered the hot pink and yellow flower, glowering disapprovingly. Vitawny just raised an eyebrow at Shenzi's attire.

"Well, let me introduce you to our new best friend," He started making introductions, "Pumbaa: Ma, Uncle Max, Vitawny, Vitawny, Uncle Max, Ma: Pumbaa."

Pumbaa suddenly gasped at what was happening far beyond them. "Look, there's Simba! And that must be his uncle Scar!"

"Oh good, they're talking things out," Timon smiled, "Which is how it should be. You know, I have a feeling everything's gonna be just fine."

Right after he said that, lighting flashed, and struck the base of Pride Rock, igniting a brush and starting a fire, making him widen his eyes and his smile disappear.

"Ooh!" Pumbaa gasped.

"On the other hand…" Timon said resignedly.

"The jackals are up there protecting Scar," Pumbaa pointed out, "What do we do?"

"Well, I've got a plan…" Timon piped up.

"How can we help?" Ma asked him magnanimously. Timon pulled her, Max, and Vitawny close to him, unintentionally smushing Max and Vitawny's cheeks together, for a pep-talk.

"Ma, Uncle Max, Vitawny, you're going to dig a trap. We're going to need… dare I say it?... Tunnels!" He shot up, taking Max with him, resulting in Vitawny's face landing on Max's chest. "Lots and lots of tunnels! And Pumbaa… you and me, we've gotta get those jackals away from Simba."

"Ooh, ooh! And lure them into the trap?!" Pumbaa barely suppressed his excitement, wagging his tail.

"Ho ho! Nothing gets past you!" Timon smiled.

"Wait!" Shenzi piped up, "What do I do?"

"You, my friend, are going to help Ma, Uncle Max, and your stepsister with the trap," Timon told her.

"Wha… No! I'm going with you!" Shenzi insisted.

"You're helping with the trap!" He exclaimed, surprising her. He calmed down, and continued, "I can't let you get hurt by those jackals or anyone," He laid his hands on her shoulders, getting serious, "And the only way that could happen is if you help with the trap. Okay?" Shenzi sighed sadly, hanging her head down a bit in defeat.

"O-okay," She stuttered out, "But be careful," She told them.

"You too," Timon said before pulling her into a hug, with her head just below his chin. They stayed in their embrace for a few seconds, with Ma and Pumbaa smiling, and Vitawny smirking, at the sweet scene. They slowly separated, and Timon jumped up on the warthog's back. "Come on, Pumbaa. Let's ride," He said before Pumbaa ran off, leaving the girls and Max standing there.

"Something's different about Timon…" Ma remarked.

"You think? He's wearing a DRESS!" Max shouted, his voice echoing his last word several times, as Ma and Shenzi glowered at him.

Meanwhile, Scar was running away from Simba, who the jackals were chasing after as sparks from the fire flew all around. Simba ran up to an area near the top of Pride Rock, where he was cornered by the jackals, who he started snarling at.

"Hey, Pumbaa!" Timon yelled loudly enough for the jackals to hear him, "What do you call a jackal with half a brain?"

"Uh, beats me, Timon," Pumbaa chuckled, "What?"

Shelly, Bruno and Bin listened for the punchline.

"Gifted!" Timon exclaimed before cracking up. Shelly and Bruno scowled in annoyance, but Bin burst out laughing, making Bruno slap him in the face.

"They're talking about us!" He glared at the goofy jackal, who rubbed his now sore cheek.

"For your last meal, you're gonna eat those words," Shelly said menacingly as they advanced towards them. Timon and Pumbaa grinned sheepishly before zipping away, screaming as they ran down the side of Pride Rock, until they reached the entrance to a tunnel, where the trap.

"Ma, Shenzi! I think we got their attention," Timon told his mom and friend.

"Not yet!" Shenzi exclaimed.

"Keep stalling!" Ma told them.

"Diggah tunnah, dig, diggah tunnah!" Max and Vitawny were singing together obsessively.

"Okay," Timon said in a panicked tone, before he started juggling sticks and dishes, with Pumbaa gesturing towards him and grinning. The bewildered jackals stopped dead in their tracks.

"You've gotta be kidding me," A nonplussed Bruno muttered. Then Timon stopped, with sticks and dishes balancing on his nose and hands.

"Now, Ma? Shenzi?"

"Need more time, honey!" His mom exclaimed to him. Then Timon and Pumbaa linked arms, and danced the "Cancan," while grinning tensely. The jackals were still unimpressed as they glared at them.

They then stopped, "Uh, freestyle!" Timon said before they started breakdancing.

"Ooh!" Surprisingly, Shelly started clapping her front paws, "Encore, encore!" Bin was laughing like always.

"No, no, you mean "entrée, entrée!"" Bruno corrected her, as she gazed at him.

"No, you're right; let's just eat 'em," They started advancing on them.

"Is it ready yet, guys?!" Timon exclaimed.

"Not yet! Keep stalling!" Shenzi told him. He drummed his fingertips together and clattered his teeth nervously, as the jackals snickered evilly. Getting an idea, he waved his arms in a time-out signal. "Wa-a-ait, wait, wait, wait, hold on a second!" He said, stopping the jackals in their tracks.

"Uh, Timon?" Pumbaa's tone turned from confused to severe, "What're you doing?"

Timon knelt down on one knee, hoping Shenzi wouldn't hear. She'd go ballistic with questions. "Shelia Zoey Victoria Eliza Jadelyn Jackal," Shelly shook her head as her expression went from sinister to surprised, and Bruno raised his bushy eyebrows up, "Would you do me the honor of becoming… my bride?"

Pumbaa's jaw dropped open in shock, as the jackals stared dumbfounded, Shelly's jaw dropped as well, before she spoke her answer.

"I don't think so!" She exclaimed, before she and the rest started advancing on them again, smiling evilly.

"Shelly Zoey, I know what you're thinking," Timon said, ""We're too different," "It would never work," "What would the children look like?"" Pumbaa stayed frozen in place, his jaw still dropped.

"Ooh, that violates so many laws of nature!" Shelly said.

"Listen to me!" Timon backed up against the wall, "The problems of a couple of wacky kids like us don't amount to hills of termites in this nutty circle of life thing," The jackals came closer and closer, smiling sinisterly. "And so I ask you: If not now, when? If not me, who? I'm lonely," He finished miserably.

Then Pumbaa tapped his shoulder, sniffling and putting on his best face for his shattered emotions. "Can I be your best man?" He asked him, as he furrowed his eyebrows at him in a "really?" way.

"I say we skip the wedding," Bruno piped up, "And go straight to the buffet!"

Suddenly, Ma's head popped out from the hole. "Now?"

"Sure, if you're ready," Timon said nonchalantly.

Ma turned around, and saw the jackals getting closer, "Oh!" She popped back down, "Now, guys! Now!" She called out to the other girls and Max, who kicked one of the tunnel supports, creating a domino effect.

"Jackals in the hole!" He exclaimed. It caused a huge crack to form in the ground, heading towards the jackals, who started backing off, with the crack following them rapidly. But it suddenly stopped expanding, because the last support hit an embedded rock and did not fall. The jackals stopped retreating, and gazed back at Timon and Pumbaa angrily, as Ma, Max, Shenzi, and Vitawny popped out of the hole.

"We need help, it didn't work!" Max told them as Shenzi ran up to Timon, and embraced him fearfully, with him embracing her back.

"Hey, it works for me!" Bruno piped up as the jackals started advancing on them again.

"What are we gonna do?" Ma asked in a panicked tone. A formerly terrified Timon noticed exactly where the crack ended. He steeled himself before making Shenzi let him go, then ran headlong at Shelly, going between her legs.

"What?!" Shelly exclaimed in surprise.

"Timon, no!" Ma and Shenzi exclaimed simultaneously as lightning flashed, and he dove down in the crack, narrowly dodging the female jackal's jaws. Losing interest, Shelly pulled her snout out of the crack.

"Let's get 'em!" Bruno smiled evilly as they advanced towards Max, Pumbaa, and the girls. Max hugged Vitawny and Ma close to him in fear.

Just as Timon dove at the last support, crumbling it on impact, Shelly leaped up to their victims, as they steeled themselves, with Vitawny burying her face in Max's chest, and lightning flashed in the sky. But just as she landed right in front of them, the ground gave out under her, followed by the whole ledge, collapsing into a large crater, which swallowed the jackals up whole. They slid down the large tunnel, screaming until they disappeared in the darkness.

The group then saw Simba hurling Scar down the cliff face, and he fell past them.

"I'd say Scar is down and out!" Pumbaa said with finality.

"We did it! We did it!" Max cheered triumphantly. Then Ma grabbed him and shook him by his chest.

"Where's Timon? Where's my baby? He's hurt!" She flung him away, and he landed on Vitawny, "Oh no! Oh no! He's dead!" She grabbed Pumbaa by his tusks and pulled him down to her level, going insane, "Or worse! W-we gotta find him."

"We gotta find him!" Shenzi exclaimed. Meanwhile, Timon emerged from the hole, and walked up to them.

"It's okay, Ma," He said before she grabbed him, and shook him, not seeing who it was.

"Oh please, it's not okay! Don't you tell me it's gonna be okay!" She yelled before realizing who was right in front of her. "Timmy!" She gasped happily before pulling him in a big, bear hug, "My son… the hero." She reached up to his hair, but lowered them in embarrassment.

"You missed a spot," Timon smiled, lowering his head down. Smiling back, she combed his hair, and dusted him off.

Max and Vitawny were overcome with emotions. "That's so beautiful!" Max cried as he grabbed Timon and hugged him tightly around his neck. Vitawny did the same with her baby stepsister.

"Choking, not breathing!" They both wheezed out from lack of breath, with their eyes bugging out. After a few seconds, they were released.

But before Timon could catch his breath, he was squeeze-hugged yet again... but by Shenzi this time, and he hugged her back tightly. What he heard from her next really surprised him: sniffling. He pulled back, and saw tears falling from her eyes. "Shenzi, are you crying?" He knelt down to her level, and wiped her tears away.

"I should have gone with you," She sniffled, her ears drooped down, "You nearly died!" She whimpered.

"But I didn't," Timon assured her, brushing her bangs out of her eyes, "I'm here." He hugged her again, as she cried some more in his chest.

(A/N: The original movie and its characters don't belong to me, but Vitawny, Shelly, Bruno, and Bin do. Man, this chapter is long. O,O Coming up with Shelly's full name was quite a chore, and the proposal part was fun to write. XD I think the scene where Shenzi wanted to go with Timon turned out really cute. X3 By the way, a manip of Shenzi in her Hawaiian attire is in my deviantart uploads, if you want to see it.)
