(A/N: This is an extended ending for The Lion King 1,5. So, anyhoo, enjoy! X3)
Recap:
"Okay guys," Timon gave up, "You win."
"Yay!" Shenzi cheered, as she kissed his cheek in joy.
"Okay, okay," The meerkat chuckled.
"Sure you don't mind?" Pumbaa asked him.
"Hakuna Matata," He assured him. Then 2 very familiar faces squeezed in.
"Banzai? Ed?" Shenzi's eyes widened her eyes in surprise.
"What are you fellas doing here?" Timon asked them.
"Watching the movie, of course!" Banzai said, followed by Ed's signature laughter.
"Uh, guys," Pumbaa started as the lights started going down, "I still don't do so well in crowds."
"Huh?" Banzai said bluntly.
Everyone enjoyed the movie a lot so far. They were just at the part where the rest of the meerkat colony, and Vitawny, moved into the Oasis.
The theater had been cleared out after a few minutes from Pumbaa's flatulence problem, except for Timon, Shenzi, Banzai, Ed, Ma, Max, Vitawny, Simba, and Rafiki. Max and Vitawny were going to leave, but Ma made them stay. She nearly freaked out at the parts where Timon was hurt or in danger, and when Shenzi was unconscious, and the two were able to keep her sane.
There was one part that surprised her so much that she thought she was hallucinating: Max and Vitawny kissed! She paused the movie at the part where Max was reciprocating with his hand on Vitawny's cheek, and she and the rest of them turned to them, a shocked look on her, Simba's, and Banzai's faces, and a wide grin on the trio's, and Ed's faces.
"… What?" Max said in confusion after a few seconds of silence.
"Is… there a problem?" Vitawny asked them awkwardly.
"You guys kissed?" Ma was shocked beyond belief.
"I KNEW you liked each other!" Timon exclaimed.
"Wha…?" Vitawny started.
"We do not," Max claimed. They started getting annoyed when they heard Shenzi snort and burst into laughter.
"It's true!" Vitawny glared.
"Ahhhhhhha ha haa ha ha!" Timon laughed with her, as he elbowed her side.
"Liar! You guys totally like each other!" Shenzi giggled.
"The evidence is right there!" Banzai gestured to the screen, where it was still paused on the clearly-in-love couple. "Vitawny and Maxie, sittin' in a…"
"Finish that sentence, and you'll be sittin' in a thorn bush," Vitawny threatened, and the male hyena immediately shut up. "And it was only one kiss."
"It doesn't mean anything," Max claimed.
"Does too!" Shenzi smiled, "Me and Timon had only one kiss so far, and look at us now!" Timon gestured to her in agreement, and pulled her close to him for emphasis.
"… Uh…" Max and Vitawny were stuck on what to say. They got them there.
"So…?" Pumbaa started, getting excited, as he, the meerkats, Shenzi, Banzai, Ed, Simba, and Rafiki gazed at them in anticipation.
"ALRIGHT! I like her!"
"And I like him!"
"You happy?!" Max yelled out in aggravation.
"I know I am!" Pumbaa smiled, as he and Ed started getting teary-eyed with emotion.
"We all are," Ma smiled, as the others nodded in agreement. "You make an adorable couple; Just like Shenzi and my son."
Suddenly feeling bashful, Vitawny gazed down at the seats, her cheeks nearly as red as some of her bangs, with her ears drooped down.
"Aw, don't be embarrassed, Vit," Shenzi assured her, "Being in a relationship is great! Trust me." The redhead hyena gazed up with an uncharacteristically timid expression, which Max found quite adorable, with her ears still drooped down.
"Um, c-can we continue the movie, please? And discuss this later?"
"Sure," Ma nodded, before playing the movie. They rewound it back to the start of the last song, and when it showed their kiss again, Vitawny dropped her head on Max's shoulder, and he jumped harshly in surprise, but he relaxed when he saw it was just her.
That night, after the discussion, and after everyone else went to sleep, Max and Vitawny decided to turn in. They were asked some questions by the others, such as when they started liking each other.
When they stopped at one of the nests, they gazed up, and couldn't help but smirk when they saw Shenzi relaxing peacefully in Timon's arms, with both of them barely awake.
Vitawny's smirk grew into a smile when they kissed for a second, before Shenzi laid her head on his shoulder. Timon smiled as he laid his hands on her back, and lovingly kissed her soft bangs as she drifted off to sleep. He rested his cheek between her ears as he went to sleep as well.
The twosome continued their way to their own nest beside the one for Timon, Shenzi, and Pumbaa. When they laid in it, Max was tossing and turning around, not quite used to sleeping on anything but dirt yet. When he turned to Vitawny, she was already deep in sleep.
Max smiled broadly as she slept peacefully; he only wished that he realized his feelings for her sooner. When they first met, he didn't think much of her. He did admit she was pretty though… for a hyena. But when he realized that they had quite a bit in common, such as singing that Diggah Tunnah song, and digging tunnels, he started to grow fond of her.
Whenever Timon's mother heard them sing "Diggah Tunnah", she'd say that they sound perfect together, but he'd just deny it; Now he was taking that back.
When he actually heard her sing by herself, his platonic love for her turned into a romantic love. He thought she sounded like she should sing with the choir angels. As the lead singer.
And call him cheesy, but when they kissed after moving into the Oasis, he truthfully felt sparks. He only hoped she did too.
Max was snapped out of his thoughts when he saw, and heard, Vitawny stir a bit in her sleep. She was now laying on her side, with one paw under her head, and her bangs were already tussled up. Her semi-long eyelashes were fluttering a bit. He smiled broadly again as he brushed her bangs from her eyes, as she smiled a bit in her sleep, and he got lost in his thoughts again.
One thing he noticed other than how beautiful her singing was, was how beautiful, and adorable, her appearance was; How her pale fur contrasted so much with her spots, ears, paws, mane, and bangs, how her bangs had those pretty streaks of red, something that was unique to her, that cute way her ears drooped down whenever she felt bashful, the way her eyelashes fluttered when she slept, her small black lips, and her big, pointy ears.
But the one thing he noticed the most about her was: her big, blue eyes. Whenever she sang, smiled, laughed, or was overall happy, amused, or ecstatic, her eyes would sparkle like sapphires in the sun. Now that he thought of it, he actually could see them.
"Aren't you going to bed?" He heard her lovely voice ask him. When he saw her gazing up at him with her eyebrows raised up, he jumped back a bit out of surprise. "S-sorry! I didn't mean to scare you," She looked flustered, as she sat up, her eyes becoming half-closed in exhaustion. "You okay? You seemed to be in a daze."
"I'm fine," He assured her, "I was just… thinking."
"About what?" Vitawny smiled up at him, making butterflies flutter in his stomach, as her blue eyes sparkled in the moonlight.
"Well, about… when we first met."
"Ohhh," Vitawny nodded, then giggled, "I remember that."
"And how Timon's mother kept saying our voices sounded "perfect."" Vitawny giggled some more.
"Anything else?"
"Well… uh…" Max hesitated telling how he really felt about her.
"Is something wrong?"
"N-no, nothing's wrong!" He assured her, mentally smacking himself for stuttering like an idiot.
"Then tell me," The redhead hyena shrugged, "I won't make fun of you about it; I promise."
"Uhh, alright," He reluctantly decided. "Um… well uh…" His nervousness didn't cease when Vitawny smirked and raised an eyebrow impishly at him. 'Man, why does she have to be so dang cute?' He thought to himself, before gathering up some courage. "Well… you know how I said I like you earlier today?"
"Uh huh," Vitawny nodded.
"Well… I lied." The hyena felt her heart drop down in her stomach, as tears bubbled up in her eyes.
"Wh-what…?" She stuttered out.
'Shoot, stupid, stupid me! Ugh!' Max thought as he mentally, and repeatedly, slapped his forehead, "Vitawny, I didn't mean it that way, I promise!" He quickly told her, as she slowly started to perk up again, blinking her tears away, fluttering her eyelashes, "What I meant was, I don't like you; I love you! Not like, love!"
Vitawny stared at him, with those big, blue eyes wide and her thin eyebrows raised up in surprise. "Really…?" Was all that came out of her mouth, "You love me?"
"Uh huh," Max nodded, as he brushed her bangs from her eyes again, "I only wish that I realized that, and told you sooner. When I saw how great you are, and heard your wonderful singing voice." A small, timid smile grew on the hyena's face, as her cheeks flushed pink, and her ears drooped down for the 2nd time that day.
"Well, I love you too," Vitawny blurted out, mentally smacking herself for saying it a little too quickly for her liking.
"I know," Max smirked at her flustered face, as he laid a hand on her cheek.
"Yes, I lo… wait, you know?"
"It was kind of obvious," Max chuckled, shrugging.
"… It was?"
"Yeah. The way you'd follow me everywhere, literally, and do anything that I do; all that just made it pretty clear."
"… Oh," Vitawny looked embarrassed, and felt stupid for not realizing that, as her blush deepened. "I… wish I knew that sooner. Guess I was too stupid to realize it," She giggled.
"No, you're not stupid," Max chuckled, "You're… perfect." Vitawny's smile widened, and her blush deepened even more.
"P-please," She suddenly felt self-conscious, "I'm not perfect."
"Well, you are… to me," Max's smirk turned into a broad, loving smile, and Vitawny couldn't help, but smile back timidly. After staring silently into her deep, beautiful blue eyes, Max started leaning towards her face, his eyes slowly closing, as Vitawny did the same.
The male meerkat closed the gap, his lips now on hers, and his hand still on her cheek. Vitawny reciprocated, as her blush deepened even more, so her cheeks were red, instead of pink. It was like their 1st kiss, except this one lasted longer.
After a few seconds, they separated, as Vitawny's eyes barely opened from sleepiness, and she let a yawn out. "Looks like it's a certain digger's bedtime," Max smirked, as she abruptly stopped, and let out some cute giggles.
"Yeah," She pushed her bangs back timidly, before letting them bounce back over her forehead, and a bit over her eyes. "Well… 'night." She hesitantly leaned on Max's shoulder, and drifted off to sleep almost immediately. Not minding at all, Max simply wrapped his arms around her, still smiling. He held her closer to him, as he brushed her bangs from her closed eyes, and fluttering eyelashes.
"I love you…" He smiled, as he kissed her forehead affectionately, "My angel."
