Disclaimer: I own nothing except the idea, Naruto is owned by Masashi Kishimoto, if there are resemblances to other stories they will either be credited or it is unintentional.
Note: Again, Sorry! To reiterate as I'll take down the sorry chapter, my computer has been acting up and my Microsoft isn't working. This was done with someone else's computer (mostly my schools), so thanks to everyone that waited.
Look at my profile for a link to a list of fanfiction on this site for "Team 7 sticks together" stories.
There is a poll for this story; it will be taken down by chapter 17 being uploaded. There are over 100 people reading this and only 14 voters, shame on you. :(
I was reading Naruto canon vs. fanon, and you know? Sticking more to pure canon, with no council, Konoha is not said to be the strongest village, and a few other things, just doesn't seem to be as good. The council opens more internal strife, the beating's give Naruto more character strength, and isn't overtly farfetched, and so on.
Thanks for all the reviews sent and any ideas given.

{Camp-Kakashi}
Kakashi looked around, walked over to a set up cot with chains, dropped Tsunade onto it, locked her in, face palmed at the chaos, and decided order was necessary and he was the only one that could make it happen.
Apparently none of the teams that had come back had had a quiet time. The people back were the secondary target Shizune, the 3 Tasatsu, Anko, Shino, Ino, Shikamaru, Hinata, Tenten, Lee, and of course himself and Haku. Added on was a relatively tall, silver haired man with an odd scythe he recognized as Hidan from the bingo book.
Hidan and the Tasatsu kids were in one group, Sakura questioning an uncomfortable Hidan, while Naruto egged her on and Sasuke was watching them all, getting some sick amusement out of it.
Anko was with a very injured Shizune, trying to help her.
Shikamaru was rubbing Hinata's back as she sobbed uncontrollably, comforting the girl.
Tenten was doing the same for a heavily depressed Lee.
A crying, but controlled Ino was nursing a beaten Shino.
Haku had moved over to Shizune, presumably to make sure she wasn't going to die; she was the resident healer after all.
He decided he'd have to help everyone; it was his job after all, and decided to try to go from least difficult to most. Thus he would end with Tasatsu and start by going to Shikamaru and Hinata, as Shika seemed to at least have everything partially under control.
{Shika & Hinata - Kakashi}
He walked over to the pair, noting everything as only a trained individual could, from being a fighter, an assassin, a politician, he saw everything.
He noted the slight bit of ash and dust on both indicating an explosion had occurred near them, the Nara kept saying soothing words and repeated himself several times, and the girl kept looking at her hands, saying things like "I'm sorry" and "Why."
It didn't take a genius to figure out what happened, and Kakashi was one. They had killed, or more accurately Hinata had killed with Shikamaru's help.
Walking slowly behind them he smiled, well his eye curved, and spoke up, startling the 2 "So…did you 2 have fun?"
Shikamaru just glared at the Jounin, even less in the mood for his foolishness than usual. Kakashi seeing the 2 weren't going to respond decided that maybe a professional attitude would be more appropriate.
"Report!" he practically snapped at the 2, and when Shika opened his mouth he cut him off and said "Not you, Genin Hyuuga give me your mission report."
Hinata looked like a deer in head lights, albeit a deer with puffy red eyes and tears streaks down her face. Shika was glaring at Kakashi, who had to admit to being impressed, it wasn't often a genin would glare at a jonin, even rarer at a legend like him and almost never that Kakashi felt even mild concern over it. Although maybe he should this time, Shikamaru was a genius with few true peers.
Hinata was silent for about a minute before she started to murmur something, too quiet for even Kakashi to hear. "Speak up genin, this is the life you've chosen, speak up."
Hinata again got that deer in headlights look before Shikamaru snapped "Give her a Kami damned moment, this may be her life, but she needs a bit to recover!"
Kakashi looked at Shikamaru for a moment before nodding and saying in a gentler voice to Hinata "No one can help you if you don't tell me what's going on, come on Hinata-san, speak up."
Hinata paused again before speaking up, she told Kakashi her team's boring start, how they came across the thugs, and the subsequent killing.
Kakashi nodded and thought about it, he wasn't entirely sure how to comfort the girl. He had been killing sense he was half her age, Sasuke and Naruto were desensitized to such things due to their respective pasts and any qualms Sakura may have had were soothed by her connection to Kurama and the boys.
Kakashi finally settled on brutal honesty and bent down, putting one hand on the shoulder Shika was not occupying. "I won't sugar coat things Hinata-san, a shinobi's life isn't pleasant, we do what no one else will, and it's often dirty, disgusting, and downright inhuman. That being said, you did good today and while a lot of what we do isn't, sometimes you can do things like these. And that makes it all worth it. Think on it, and if you want to continue being a kunoichi, you have people who'll help you, and some nice talent to back it up."
Kakashi smiled, patted Hinata's shoulder, and nodded to Shikamaru, who nodded back. They all had an understanding. Shika smiled sadly, and threw his arm around Hinata, who had stopped crying and she just sat there, while Shika just murmured calmingly.
Kakashi moved on.
{Tenten & Lee-Kakashi}
Much like the last pair, Kakashi immediately knew what had happened, the problems were in Lee's temperament and the motive.
While Hinata had killed, it had been planned, something Kakashi had figured since she was with Shikamaru, but he doubted Lee's was planned. He probably jumped in without thinking, and now he was like this.
The other problem was temperament, where Hinata was shy and quiet; she was also exposed to this life through her family and was more logical. Lee was overly optimistic, loud, and emotional.
Kakashi wondered idly whether he should just offer a few words of comfort than move on and wait for Guy, the problem being he didn't know when Guy would get here, and he didn't want the boy to get suicidal or something in that time frame.
He sighed and squatted in front of the 2 and said "Yo, how's your day been?"
Tenten's glare could have melted steel, and Lee didn't seem to notice.
Kakashi thought for a moment before speaking "I can't say anything to make everything alright and I don't have the full story, but do you need anything until you can talk about it? Or Guy gets here, whichever come first."
Tenten looked at him for a moment, as if seeing him a whole new light, Lee raised his head, and Sasuke looked over at him.
This was all ruined with his next words as he smiled.
"You can even let you borrow my Icha-icha for awhile!"
Sasuke face faulted, Tenten threw a kunai at him, which he caught, and Lee dropped again. Sasuke went back to watching his siblings, as Sakura tried to bite a hole through Naruto's hand as he tried to grab Hidan's scythe and Hidan gabbed a hole through a tree with a mini-scythe.
Tenten grabbed a mace from … somewhere, and Kakashi grabbed it and ripped it out of her hand before she hurt someone, like Ino. He set that into the ground next to him and leaned on it.
Lee just watched all of this with a flat gaze.
Kakashi looked at the 2 and smiled again. He spoke again, but in a softer voice this time "You two have so much potential, don't let this ruin you. I'm sure Guy, for all of his eccentric ways is a good teacher; don't let all that go to waste."
He moved on, going to Ino and Shino. He'd never see Tenten's eyes widening, or Lee giving a small smile and nodding.
{Ino & Shino-Kakashi}
Shino had been beaten, pretty badly from what Kakashi could see, and it was either Ino's fault, she was no help at all, or both.
As Kakashi walked from behind he was about to interrupt when he stopped. Shino was talking so Kakashi stopped and listened. After a moment he walked away.
From what he had put together of the situation, Ino had been knocked out against some missing-nin, and Shino had taken some bad hits to protect her before Lee and Tenten had gotten there to help. Ino was promising to work harder and Shino was comforting her.
He'd have to get there report later, but for right now the two were doing fine.
He had thought since the two didn't particularly get along he'd have to struggle to help, but instead the two were getting along not just fine, but very well. Ahh, something to tease some genin about.
He smiled as he walked, one more to go with Anko and Shizune, than Tasatsu owed him an explanation, and he'd probably stay with the three of them, and Hidan if he was staying, until the other shinobi came back.
{Anko, Haku, & Shizune-Kakashi}
As he walked over he watched what was going on. Shizune was lying in a cot, but while it was almost the same as Tsunade's, (standard issue, a cot with chains out of each corner, held in a sealing scroll, reseal able.) Tsunade's was enforced with strengthening seals, which were admittedly one of maybe 5 seals Kakashi could do, however only the bottom left chain was locked, the other three were just laying around uselessly.
This made sense seeing as the medic looked as if she went through a meat grinder, or Tasatsu got her, he wasn't sure which was worse. Probably Tasatsu, his three little genin were real terrors. He probably shouldn't be as proud of that as he was.
He guessed she met Naruto and Anko, seeing as Naruto wouldn't be so frustrating as to bring someone like Hidan. Itachi or Sasori maybe, but not Hidan. It was sad when he put more faith in Naruto than the rest of his team. Naruto corrupted them and now HE was the trustworthy one.
'Back on topic' he thought.
He looked at Anko and asked her "How'd it go?"
She jumped, as Kakashi was one of the few people who could sneak up on her. After a moment she answered "Fine, me and the gaki met the girl, they talked, and I stayed out of it. He hit her with some 9 kitsune things or something. We walked back."
Kakashi nodded, that was what he had figured. He looked at Haku and asked her "how is our little apprentice" smiling the whole damn time.
Haku looked up for a moment. She seemed to look him over, Kakashi didn't know why; he hadn't changed in the past 15 minutes or so. After a moment she answered "She'll live, although she'll be in pain for a time, she's already healing. I can speed that up a bit, and she can do more when she wakes. We'll probably have to stay here for a day or two extra though if we want to do anything other than drag her."
"So Naruto went a little over bored?" Kakashi asked in a joking voice.
Haku just looked at him and deadpanned a "Yeah, sure, we'll go with that."
Kakashi nodded and tapped his foot for a moment. Anko looked at him and asked him "Why are you just standing there.
He stood for a moment before answered "I need to talk to my little genin now and I'm trying to avoid it."
Anko looked at him for a moment before he seemed to blur to the side, Haku had thrown some sebon at him. She glared at him and made a shooing gesture.
With a look of defeat he just nodded and left.
{Tasatsu & Hidan-Kakashi}
As Kakashi walked over he heard the conversation the 4 were having.
Hidan seemed to be fascinated by his genin, which was understandable.
Sasuke and Naruto were discussing something involving their next feeding. He purposely paid as little attention as he could, although he noticed them mentioning the other genin a few times, which admittedly worried the copycat.
Sakura was trying, and failing, to take Hidan's scythe. Every 40 seconds or so she'd reach out to take the triple bladed pole, just to have Hidan yank it away at the last second, causing her to topple over, often on the ground, although a few times she fly into Sasuke.
He sat down in between Naruto, to his left, and Sakura, to his right. Hidan was across and slightly right of him while Sasuke was to the left of Naruto.
He sighed and decided he could deal with his genin in a moment, he loved them like his own but damn they were tiring.
He looked at Hidan and decided to get it done with. "Soooo, one of them got you huh."
Hidan looked at him. It was clear to the immortal that this situation wasn't abnormal to the one eyed jonin. Which meant, to him at least, that either collecting S-rank nin was normal for the three, something he doubted, if only because there weren't that many of them around, or the three did whatever they wanted and the younger man was just going to go along with it.
Hidan sighed, not quite cursed out but deciding to see if the Konoha Nin could explain what was going on. " The red head and smart-ass dragged me here, and it isn't like I have anything else to do. What are they trying to do anyway?"
Before Kakashi could answer Sakura butted in "Kaka-ossan, can we keep him? We promise that we'll take care of him. Please!" She gave him the puppy-pout-no-jutsu, which he found slightly funny coming from the red haired blood drinker.
Again he was stopped from speaking, this time by Naruto who through in his own "Please!" with his specialty fox-pout-no-jutsu. Sasuke reluctantly threw in his own "please." That if slightly less enthusiastic than the other 2's he made up for it by a pout that looked adorable, whether he looked 18 or not.
Hidan looked even more freaked out than before and Kakashi sighed. Kakashi just looked at Hidan with something akin to pity and said "Welcome to the family, I'm fairly sure you just became not just a Tasatsu family member, but a Konoha Nin."
Hidan looked even more freaked out, especially when the trio cheered and glomped the 2 adults. Hidan looked like he was actually scared and Kakashi just sighed, albeit with a great deal of affection and a smile.
When they released the two Hidan was badgered with questions from the three, and Kakashi just sighed, still smiling. He'd get the mission information later.
As he laid down he noted the approaching chakra signatures of the rest of the search party. Looked like his day wasn't done quite yet.
Updates will still take awhile, but thank you to everyone following, reading, and reviewing.
