In My Veins
The radio was on one of the local radio stations one afternoon as the kids were trying to decide what they wanted to be for Halloween. Beckett was getting out the things she would need to make dinner in a few hours.
"Okay New York; we have a special listener request from 2010; for you. This one comes from New York's own mystery writer; Richard Castle, who just celebrated eleven years of marriage with his wife. This one is for you; Captain…."
In My Veins by Andrew Belle and Erin McCarley came on the radio just as Castle walked in. The kids watched as their Dad took their Mom in his arms so they could dance to their song.
Nothin goes as planned.
Everything will break.
People say goodbye.
In their own special way.
All that you rely on
And all that you can fake
Will leave you in the morning
But find you in the day
Oh you're in my veins
And I cannot get you out
Oh you're all I taste
At night inside of my mouth
Oh you run away
Cause I am not what you found
Oh you're in my veins
And I cannot get you out.
Everything will change.
Nothin stays the same.
And nobody here's perfect.
Oh but everyone's to blame
All that you rely on
And all that you can save
Will leave you in the morning
And find you in the day
Oh you're in my veins
And I cannot get you out
Oh you're all I taste
At night inside of my mouth
Oh you run away
Cause I am not what you found
Oh you're in my veins
And I cannot get you out.
No I cannot get you out.
No I cannot get you.
Oh I cannot get you.
Everything is dark.
It's more than you can take.
But you catch a glimpse of sun light.
Shinin, shinin down on your face.
Your face, oh your face.
Oh you're in my veins
And I cannot get you out
Oh you're all I taste
At night inside of my mouth
Oh you run away
Cause I am not what you found
Oh you're in my veins
And I cannot get you out
No I cannot get you out.
No I cannot get you out.
Oh no, I cannot get you.
"Why are they dancing to this song?" James Royce asked his sisters and brother.
"Because they are." JJ said.
Johanna Martha and Kat gave JJ the look their Mom had given their Dad countless times over the years. The girls were mini versions of their Mom without a doubt.
"Its their wedding song." Kat said.
"And Daddy is being romantic since they just had their anniversary."
With that the four kids continued to watch their parents dance in the middle of the loft to their song.
